Mama Jo is an Eritrean restaurant, and while there are some, there aren't that many. So, walk in and try the delicious dishes. If Eritrean cuisine isn't your thing, you can always try the German standards. Everything tastes excellent, and the hosts are very nice people. The atmosphere is solidly middle-of-the-road; a visit is definitely worth it.

I enter the restaurant with the typical mixture of anticipation and cautious skepticism that sets in when you're once again immersed in the unknown world of the menu. Right from the start: the staff is so friendly and open that you almost feel like you're part of an exclusive cocktail party – even if the room feels more like a library after closing time. You're greeted with a smile, as if you've just redeemed the last voucher from the store's good-humored stash. Service with heart and a wink that says: "We're having fun, but you're the stars of the evening." The star of the evening is the Sauerbraten. And what a talent! The Sauerbraten is the best I've ever eaten. So tender that you could almost press it with a fork into a DIY work of art, so intensely seasoned that every sauce sounds like a declaration of love. The subtle sweetness, the juicy meat, and the delicate acidity combine to create a harmonious interplay in which you almost forget that you're actually coordinating your fork and knife. No, it's not permanently on the menu – and yes, there's an absolute tragic element to that, which I had to accept with tears in my eyes. Anyone who hides such a treasure outside the regular menu perhaps deserves a secret trophy or at least a note in the kitchen's memory log: "Please come on stage more often, Sauerbraten, you're the rock star." Let's move on to the ambiance. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't feel particularly cozy inside; rather cold, almost like a note saying, "We prefer clean lines and functionality over coziness." The lighting is taut, and the furniture says, "We don't create warming paths, we deliver style." That's a shame, because coziness is often the secret fifth course of a good evening. You wish for more soft corners, warm colors, or a chat by the fireplace – or at least a blanket that makes you feel like you're eating not just a meal, but a story. Nevertheless, the quality of the food keeps morale high and makes you leave thinking, "Maybe it would be more comfortable next time, but it will definitely be just as delicious." Conclusion: Four stars because the star of the kitchen shines brightly and the staff is so warm that you need a sweater to avoid freezing from the kitchen fumes. The Sauerbraten is an unforgettable experience that will be part of the culinary hall of fame of my travels – unfortunately, it's only sporadically available on the menu. If you get the chance, treat yourself to this taste experience, talk about the quiet whispers on the menu, and hope for a return of the Sauerbraten, which lights up the night.

My absolute favorite Thai restaurant for over 5 years! I've been to Thailand myself and can confirm: the food here tastes just as authentic, fresh, and aromatic. The team is friendly, the kitchen is clean, and the quality is always top-notch. The negative reviews are completely unfounded – this restaurant is a true piece of Thailand and highly recommended! Another tip for vegetarians and vegans: Authentic Thai cuisine includes fish, which is why the food tastes just as good as it does in Thailand! If you're a bit biased, you should go to Velo in Heilbronn. A great veggie/vegan restaurant, I highly recommend it! Please only leave fair comments for the Pathum tip :)
