Yame - Vietnamese Streetfood in Köln

Yame completely won me over. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you immediately feel at home. The service is warm and attentive without being intrusive. I was particularly impressed by the freshness and balance of the flavors – everything tastes honest, homemade, and prepared with love. The whole package is just perfect here. I'd love to come back!

The food is basically very tasty. However, the portions are far too small - even for the prices. I had a typical bun bowl with pork belly. The bowl itself wasn't big. But the shame was that there was hardly any meat. It would just be a few crumbs that were very fried. At other Vietnamese places, like Lu or Viet Village, you get significantly more for your money. The ambience is otherwise nice. The service is fast, but there are sometimes unnecessary discussions when requests for changes are made.

+ Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with the menu. The environment is very calm with plenty of seating. Ingredients were fresh. Tons of veggy options. - Ordered tofu curry and it only came with about 50ml of curry, and one or two small pieces of tofu/seitan. Was completely dry. Similar situation with other meals ordered in terms of portion size. People left still quite hungry and bought a snack elsewhere. For between 13 and 15 euro a dish, it was slightly disappointing

Super tasty, fresh food, perfect portion size and super friendly service. The desired amount of coriander is even requested separately. Starter Bao Buns are a bit expensive in terms of price-performance ratio but overall everything is perfect!!

Comfortably furnished and great service. Unfortunately, the taste of the food was good, but not exceptional. The ingredients were pretty basic: udon noodles, imperial vegetables, tofu, hoisin sauce and a few herbs. The portions were quite meager, for €14.90 I would have expected more. Even the simple ingredients were saved here. It may taste surprisingly delicious, but then the portion size should be convincing. But I would have probably managed twice as much food and was still hungry after the restaurant visit. I wouldn't come back. Unfortunately, because the service was super friendly.

Very nicely decorated restaurant and very attentive service. Unfortunately the portions were very(!) small. We didn't really go home full. We didn't see €15 as good value for money. The bao buns were also sold out. We would have liked a hint when we were given the card and not just when we wanted to order. Otherwise everything was great and we would come back :)

Food selection for main courses is good and the food was ok. I missed the sauce. But with a little soy sauce, it was ok. Unfortunately there was no dessert. It's a shame, I would have liked to have had it. And I would have had other small snacks. It was humid inside...in January. And kitschy Christmas decorations, which I found funny. I found prices too high. I expected more for the price. Although the portion size was ok for me, so I don't need to eat that much. but then please also cheaper prices.

Ordered the Curry (No. 27) with Tofu and Seitan and the Jasmin Tea. The presentation was absolutely beautiful and the tea was delicious. The food had fresh ingredients, the curry sauce was very well balanced. Also the tofu and seitan were marinated to perfection and were one of the most delicious marinated vegan ingredients I've had in a while. The only slightly bad thing were the proportions. They could have served it with a bit more of the curry so that the whole dish wasn't faintly underwhelming in terms of spice. Also could've done with a bit higher amount of tofu/seitan. The atmosphere and the service were absolutely bang-on and top-notch though. As a follow-up, I tried the Tori bowl. From the sizes of the cut ingredients to the textures and the freshness and the marination of the chicken and the amount of the homemade sauce was perfection. I was initially skeptical about a viscous sauce- rice combination but everything blend into a perfect combination of flavour, from the soft chicken to the super fresh cucumber and the perfectly ripe avocados.

Every question was answered and every little detail was taken into account. The food tastes incredibly good and fresh and you just feel good! Great recommendation!

This is my second time here. The atmosphere is totally pleasant, the conditions are incredibly friendly. The food was very tasty. You can briefly immerse yourself in a green oasis 😊5 stars and absolute recommendation .

On recommendation. But unfortunately never again: Ordered Pho Bo Supe. Broth completely tasteless and pale. Ask for a little fresh chili and lemon. There are no lemons (traditional in Vietnam). Promised chili, didn't get it. Service is zero, atmosphere not really clean. Snack or not, I expected more.

Good location. But it has already been mentioned several times. The portions of bowls are too small in terms of quantity. There's also not enough broth in it. The quality is not objectionable. So for me it's just one visit.

Very tasty, everyone was friendly, fast service and a very good selection of vegan dishes. Could be a little more for today's times, in the direction of vegan chicken, vegan beef, etc. A bit noisy right on the street, but not too bad and everything inside was great, clean and appropriately furnished. 👌🏻

Very good restaurant for smaller groups with calm homwly vibe; very tasty Vietnamese food; friendly service; slightly expensive; has few tables outside; inside is a nice atmosphere with a lot of plants; we did not wait long; one can mainly choose between baobans, bowls and pho soups; this place also offers cocktails at a good price; I really enjoyed the dinner here.

Was there on a business trip with friends during the FAF trade fair weekend. The restaurant was recommended by my business partner and that's how we Saarlanders ended up there. Great service, excellent food and lovely atmosphere. The store was consistently well attended. Fresh food at a great price-performance ratio. We'd love to come back. PS Saarlouis is waiting 🙂

Very tasty Vietnamese food, quick and uncomplicated dishes. Delicious noodle soups, noodle dishes and banh mis (Vietnamese baguettes). Very friendly team! Highly Recommended!

I love the pho and I’ve come here twice but what I hate is that they always skimp on the meat. I pay almost €17 just to get tiny bites of meat. They make it so fast so you know there’s not much labor involved and the ingredients are all cheap. Noodles and vegetables. So what am I paying for? Why would I pay so much money for just noddles and a couple vegetables? I could make this myself easily but sometimes I just want to enjoy someone else’s cooking but when someone else tries to be a cheapskate, it annoys me a bit. Either call it beef pho or pho with a couple bites of beef. Pick one.

If everything is so enchanting that you forget to take a single photo - from the impressive ambience, to the great staff, to the remarkably fresh and tasty food - everything is just right at Yame and is absolutely worth a visit. The best summer rolls I've ever eaten and we didn't have anything else that wasn't extremely delicious. The manageable but still appealing selection doesn't make the choice easy - but no matter what, it tastes great.

it is a nice Vietnamese small restaurant nicely located in the südtstadt, the food is supeeeer good, the service is also very kind. The place is not that big but there is always space. I had the udon noodles in the coconut milk-curry sauce and they were amazing.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated. Service friendly and attentive. When eating I have to differentiate between starter and main course: starter (bao buns) were great! The main course (rice noodles with vegetables and tofu/seitan and hoisin sauce) was unfortunately a bit boring and seemed uninspired. Next time I'll just order different appetizers and be happy 😃

Übelst nicer Vietnamese in Köln. Die Karte ist klein aber fein, das Curry mit Huhn war mega lecker und die Bao Buns auch super fluffy und krass gut. Richtiges Soulfood. Preis ist voll ok, vorallem für die Qualität. Auch daler Service war super nett, schnell und zuvorkommend. Auch auf das Essen wurde nicht lange gewartet. Rundum super gut. Wichtig noch zu wissen, Karte erst ab 15€. Top voll zu empfehlen.

Mit Abstand das beste und frischeste essen in Köln. Die chicken bowl ist nur empfehlen. Sauberer laden mit einem tollen Team. Komme schon länger immer wieder und war noch nie enttäuscht.

Sehr freundliches Lokal mit unglaublich guten, vietnamesischen Gerichten. Bowls, Pho und auch Bao Buns sind sehr zu empfehlen! Leider gibt es keine Banh Mi Sandwiches mehr, die waren immer mein Highlight.
