XXXL Restaurant Kempten in Kempten (Allgäu)

Hello! We were very satisfied. It's not Michelin-starred cuisine, but it doesn't need to be. The food was very tasty, and the service was friendly. The highlight was the robot that brings the food! 🤗 Keep up the good work!

The chicken schnitzel was absolutely awful... not meat at all, just mush with gristle... Never again...

We've eaten at XXXL Lutz several times recently, as we needed some furniture. This also gave us the opportunity to try the restaurant. We were surprised by the generous farmer's breakfast; it was very tasty. The lunch portions vary considerably. We had duck and sea bream fillet. The duck portion was good, but the sea bream fillet could have easily passed for an appetizer. Taste-wise, everything was fine. Hence the one-point deduction. During peak hours, the noise level is extremely high, and the wait for a table is also quite long. Everything is clean and tidy.

Terrible! Against the server's recommendation, I deliberately chose the more expensive chicken schnitzel with the better quality meat (the server said that the better quality meat from Germany was very tough, but that doesn't matter). When the food arrived, there were two schnitzels on the plate. So far, so good. However, the two schnitzels were completely different in appearance. One was a nice brown and irregular in shape (real cut of meat), the other was rather pale and had the appearance of pressed meat. Both pieces of meat were cut, and it was a clear case: one was nice meat with visible muscle fibers, the other was pressed/formed meat (see photos). The server and the "chef" were firmly convinced that it was the same meat, since there's only one drawer in the kitchen from which the meat is taken. The meal was offered to be canceled and returned. At least the coffee was good.

First, you stand unobserved in front of the entrance for 20 minutes, even though there are plenty of free tables. Then you wait forever for a creepy employee to finally take your order. You wait forever for your order. The food wasn't worth the long wait either. We actually wanted dessert with coffee, but because the kitchen was slow, we settled for overpriced coffee.

We ate at the XXXL restaurant in Kempten, and I ordered a fish fillet. Unfortunately, the fillet was ice-cold inside. After complaining, the entire plate—including the remoulade, potato salad, salad dressing, and tomatoes—was apparently simply put in the microwave. The result: everything was piping hot, even the remoulade and salad. For me, that's an absolute no-go in a restaurant.

I'm always very happy here. I'll keep coming back!

Here, they tell you with conviction: "Nothing we serve is fresh, hence the prices." There's not much more to say, except that you have to wait a very long time for your food, which is essentially just defrosting. 🤔 The robot that brings the food is very friendly. 👍

We were at the XXXLutz Kempten restaurant today, July 31, 2025 (4:15 p.m.). We had to wait in line at the entrance for about half an hour for a free table. None of the waiting guests knew that inventory was being taken that day and that the staff was understaffed. Several guests complained loudly. Unfortunately, upon entering the restaurant, we were severely insulted by a waitress for no reason. Her supervisor heard everything and was visibly embarrassed. We have never experienced such bad behavior from a waitress. An apology would have been the least we could offer. Dear XXXLutz team, this is damaging your fantastic image. Please clarify this with your employee.

Unfortunately, we were tempted to eat here. One thing is certain: this was a unique experience and will definitely not happen again! The portion sizes have absolutely nothing to do with the pictures and are a complete rip-off. The quality is borderline, and the price/performance ratio is terrible. If, for example, tomatoes are listed and pictured with a salad, then it's not too much to expect if there are some in the salad... For those who are ignorant, like me, they even explain why the Hofkultur chicken schnitzel is €3 more expensive... Because it's chicken breast and not from the loin like the cheaper one. 😂 Yes, I freely admit that I have no comparison, as I've never eaten chicken loin schnitzel. We also had to search the cutlery basket for clean forks and knives... The staff's reaction to complaints and grievances is already completely numb, which says it all, but it's no solution for the guest!

Today was our first visit to the xxxlutz restaurant in Kempten, as we were very happy with the one in Friedrichshafen. My daughter and I ordered the fried chicken salad. When we got it, my daughter's lettuce was wilted; there was no carrot salad, no corn, and no cucumbers on it, just a total difference from mine. We took it back to the counter and complained. A waitress then started to rant about us, which I think is completely unacceptable. That's something you can do in the kitchen, not at the counter where the guests can hear it. On a positive note, the waiter apologized to us and asked us again as we were leaving if everything was okay... that's what you call service!

Today we wanted to order a vegetarian version of the breakfast on offer, but we were told that it wasn't possible, even though it was never a problem before. When I wanted to order a different breakfast, after thinking about it for a moment, the waiter simply turned around and started cleaning at the next table, so that I sat there with my mouth open. It was disappointing. In addition, the cucumbers on the plates had gone bad. Then it's better not to serve any at all than like that.

Absolutely terrible experience! The staff is incredibly rude and unfriendly. Even when they clearly had space, they made us wait for an unnecessarily long time. We visited as a family—my wife, daughter, and I—only to be told in the rudest manner that they only had space for two people. The service is awful, and they treat customers with zero respect. Avoid this place at all costs!.

If there is any option for -1 I will prefer for the rude behaviour

The restaurant was very empty and yet the waitresses kept us waiting forever and preferred to clean glasses at the counter. When we finally got to the table they let us sit for 20 minutes until someone finally came, and it took another 15 minutes until the drinks finally came. The food was served at some point, but the portions were very small and very expensive for the quality. Not recommended, you'd rather go to a trusted kebab shop and get a kebab plate with ayran and be better served.

The schnitzel was raw inside, so we returned it and quickly refried it in the deep fryer. Afterward, the three fries served with the schnitzel were soggy and cold! No apology or concession on the price! That's what happens when you order the premium schnitzel! Very annoying.

We're always happy when we receive the meal vouchers. Absolutely fantastic food at super reasonable prices. Of course, it's not a restaurant atmosphere, just a cafeteria, but you can't have everything. I find some of this complaining really creepy.

Wrong opening time given on Saturday....opens at 9 a.m....staff very friendly and forthcoming...there's nothing to complain about.. ☝️☕️🍰

The waitress (older gentleman) was very inconsiderate. There was only one table occupied apart from us, so I put my bag on a chair behind me. The floor was dirty so I used the chair. The gentleman came and put my bag on the dirty floor without saying anything. He is also otherwise very rude

I don't recommend eating here. The food was neither fresh nor good.

We come here often for lunch. All the staff are always very friendly and polite and the food is excellent. Our fullest praise to the entire team!

Every time it's rump steak days, rump steak is strangely sold out! Either you're too stupid to plan or it's just a stupid trick to attract people

After I walked through the whole store with three children (3, 1 and 1 years old) only to discover that the children's area, which was signposted everywhere, didn't even exist, we were treated very unfriendly in the restaurant. We weren't sold anything to drink because we were sitting at the "wrong table". It was not possible to buy a glass of water at the counter, which I was “forbidden” to do in the tone of a small child. Ridiculous inflexibility, the waitress didn't understand that she had a service job.

After such an unfriendly "welcome" we immediately lost our appetite and decided to go to the neighboring restaurant. The older male service employee should urgently attend customer service training.

Colleagues, friends, my family and I have been customers at the restaurant from the very beginning. But we had to realize that over time, so many things have deteriorated so much: starting with the unfriendly, disinterested young staff who ignore guests until they speak to them. And rather pay attention to your cell phone. About dirty cutlery, up to the 0815 offer. If there are offers, such as venison goulash in winter, the plate is only half full! So in the future we would rather pay a little more somewhere else where the price and performance are still right!

Good offers, except for the drinks... Nice cozy restaurant.

The staff is very friendly.. I think the portions are quite expensive for this price... the drinks tasted like they were mixed with water, no carbon dioxide and the 2 glass was very slightly carbonated €4.10 for this cola mix :/ For us it was the last time.

Usual furniture store restaurant, with a good selection and reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and quick. Unfortunately, there are still certain Corona restrictions in place.

Fresh, good ingredients at Salt. Little dressing. When I asked, I got another dressing. Thank you again at any time

We used to eat there often and it was always good and cheap! Today, 1 year later, we unfortunately had to realize that a lot of things are no longer available and what is there is at best average quality, little and has become more expensive. Especially pasta dishes, you can go straight to the Italian restaurant!

Hello :D I go to the furniture store regularly and am always impressed. Food tastes great. The waiters are always friendly. It seems to me that the team has a good working atmosphere. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely happy with the beer they offer here.

Restaurant opening hours are officially until 6 p.m. We wanted to pick up our free meal today with the xxxlutz friendship card, but the kitchen was already closed (only open until 5:30 p.m.). When we asked if we could have a cake instead, we said no, it couldn't be booked that way. I would say customer unfriendly.

We often eat at the xxxl Restaurant Kempten and were extremely satisfied until yesterday. Yesterday, however, we were dissatisfied for the first time. Grill plate for almost 16 euros: the portion is pretty manageable for this price level. We are not overeaters! Steamed vegetables without sauce and tasteless, a handful of chips. Mixed drink made from wheat beer and lemonade: There was only a hint of beer in the soda and that meant it didn't taste good. We were disappointed and hope this was a one-time blip. Best regards

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Mein Fitnessalad war hervorragend. Die Hähnchenteile gut gebraten und saftig. Auch am Schnitzel gibt es nichts zu meckern! Bedienungen sehr fleißig und stets ausgesprochen freundlich ,obwohl sehr viel los war! Alles war sauber und wurde vor uns sauber gemacht. Wen man lesen kann das man warten muss um platziert zu werden, haben die Bedienungen auch eine Chance abzuräumen und sauber zu machen.

Bedienung sehr freundlich, trotz vollem Haus. Currywurst hatte eine ansprechende Größe, Sauce dazu sehr lecker, Pommes knusprig außen und innen weich. Zwiebelrostbraten knapp Medium, an zwei Stellen etwas zäh, sonst gut, Spätzle gingen mit Sauce in Ordnung (hier war das Fertigprodukt an Farbe und Geschmack am deutlichsten zu sehen und schmecken).

Leider war die Bedienung mehr mit ihrem Haby beschäftigt als mit den Gästen. Tische und Boden war absolut dreckig. Beim Besteck auf den Tischen musste ich lange sortieren bis ich etwas sauberes gefunden habe. Eigentlich schon ein Grund gleich wieder zu gehen. Bei der Nudelpfanne mit Hähnchen schwammen 10 Nudeln in einer Soßensuppe zwischen Spinat rum. Die zwei Hähnchenstücke waren zäh und durchwachsen. Für mich nicht genießbar. Mein Mann hatte eine Schweinefiletpfanne. Das Filet war fast komplett roh. Die Pommes meiner kleinen Tochter möchte ich nicht beschreiben. Die Tür zur Küche steht offen . Der Gast hat hier einen Blick auf einen Küchenwagen auf dem im unteren Bereich nicht abgedeckt Kuchen stehen und in der oberen Etage abgepacktes Fleisch steht. Ich muss sagen, dass ich zwar kein Fastfoodfreund bin, jedoch bei den Fastfoodketten deutlich besser und günstiger gegessen habe.

Bin heute um 16 Uhr ins Restaurant um etwas zu essen, was dann folgte ist für mich ein Grund dort nicht mehr einzukehren. Obwohl bis 19 Uhr offen ist schließt die Küche schon um 16:30 Uhr, ok vielleicht braucht man 2,5 Stunden für die Küche zu reinigen?. Ich setzte mich an einen Tisch und wartete auf die Bedienung( blonde Haare), die allerdings hinter der Theke stand und sich mit einem Mann aus der Küche (beide Arme tätowiert) unterhielt. Die zweite Bedienung räumte etwas rum. Obwohl Blickkontakt bestand machte sie keine Anstalten mich zu bedienen. Als sie dann endlich kam bestellte ich, allerdings freundlich geht anders. Dann brachte sie mir mein bestelltes Spezi 0,5 allerdings fast 2 cm unterm Eichstrich. Darauf angesprochen meinte sie nur: das kommt so aus der Anlage. Sollte das so sein ist das Betrug am Kunden und Abzocke seitens des Unternehmens. Bereits verlassene Tische wurde erst nach über 30min abgeräumt obwohl nur noch 3 besetzte Tische da waren. Angesprochen auf meine Kretikpunkte reagierte man uneinsichtig und beleidigt. Vielen Angestellten ist wohl nicht bewusst von wem sie bezahlt werden, nämlich vom Kunden! Übrigens ist mir in den Bewertungen aufgefallen, dass sich genau über diese Probleme und die gleichen Personen schon öfter beschwert wurden. Scheint der Führung des Hauses egal zu sein. Das sieht man auch an den Standardantworten die unter den Bewertungen stehen. Würde gerne das Bild hinzufügen von dem nicht ganz vollen Glas aber es scheint die Möglichkeit nicht zu geben.

Ich habe tatsächlich nix zu Meckern. Nette und fixe Bedienung. Gutes Fast Food Essen zum Fairen Preis. P.S. Scheint bei Rentnern sehr beliebt zu sein...😉🤓

Essen war ganz gut vorallem die Burger, die Angestellten dort sind auch ganz nett!

Wollte heute Samstag, so gegen 16 Uhr was Essen gehen da und anschließend noch was Einkaufen. Der Bereich am Eingang wurde schon abgesperrt, ich setzte mich weiter vor, nur leider ist lange keine Bedienung gekommen. Eine blonde junge Frau hat zwar am Nebentisch abgeräumt, aber Essen bestellen bei Ihr... leider nicht 😟...Schade, bin dann wieder gegangen ohne Essen.

Ich bin echt begeistert. Gute Preise. Personal freundlich und es scheint eine nette Atmosphäre unter den Kollegen zu geben. Das Essen ist sehr lecker - habe einen Burger gegessen. Habe schon die Erfahrung gemacht dass man teilweise in einem Burgerladen schlechtere isst. Kann ich wirklich Weiterempfehlen!

Schön, daß man da auch essen kann. Das Angebot ist gut, die Bedienung schnell und freundlich, was will man mehr? Ich kann es empfehlen.

Schönes, helles Restaurant mit viel Platz im Obergeschoß. Karte mit recht guter Auswahl. Große Portionen zum günstigen Preis! Die Bedienungen freundlich und schnell. Das Essen und die Getränke kommen zügig! Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen!! ** 😀😀😀
