Service took a long time, food was good.

I’m here on business from Taiwan and often come here with my colleagues. The food is very good and one of the young staff said he had been to Taipei before, which make me kind of happy.

Even though we said it twice, the drink only came after the meal.

The food was very tasty and there was a lot of it, I'm always happy when I get my fill in a restaurant. I can especially recommend the vegetarian platter to vegetarians, as it actually also includes vegan duck, shrimp and chicken, which is not a given. The service was also very friendly and super attentive. All in all, great inexpensive and delicious food in the middle of Darmstadt, I can only recommend it.

We had a nice experience at Xin Chào in Darmstadt. The food is authentic with intense Vietnamese flavors and the portions are generous. Want an.ul was delicious and the relaxing atmosphere completes the experience. I recommend!

Great value for money, delicious soups

Wow! This was fresh, delicious and complex. I ordered four takeaway dishes and everything was very good, especially the Thai curry and the summer rolls. We will order again.

Update after 1 year: Food isn't good at all anymore. Thai curry almost inedible, extremely sweet, chicken super hard + tough, Udong very little noodles, and a lot of the hard / tough chicken. Drink prices are high, we won't be back.

I have eaten here more than four times, but I feel that the taste of the food has changed. The chicken was very hard and chewy. The children didn't like it at all. Even though it used to be a favorite restaurant and as always we waited a long time. The older woman spoke almost no German and was also unfriendly.

We ordered a meal platter for 2 people. The food was very tasty but too much. The service was very friendly and the food was ready quickly. I would definitely come here to eat again.

The service was extremely slow. A young man wearing glasses took our order very carelessly and had no idea what we were ordering. We waited for an hour, only to be served the wrong dish. When we went to complain, they refused to acknowledge their mistake and insisted they were already fixing it. In the end, the promised complimentary appetizer never arrived, and despite repeatedly asking for more rice, it was never provided. It was a very poor experience overall.

The noodle soup here tastes very good, so I come here often. However, the service here is too slow, and we often have to wait 50 minutes to an hour. And sometimes people who come later than us get the food before us. Don't come when you're hungry, you'll go crazy.

The food is very tasty, I especially like eating the Pho there.

I have to say it was a very bad experience. The waiting time is long, the broth is sloppily prepared and, above all, the meat smells bad. really bad

Unfortunately, this was our worst experience at Xin Chao so far, even though we have been here several times. An older lady took our order. We clearly pointed to number 25 on the menu – the wontons – and said we wanted number 25. She took the order quickly, but we couldn't clearly hear whether she said 24 or 25. At the end she brought us dish number 24, the udon noodles. We immediately pointed out that we wanted number 25 and not 24. Without apologizing, the lady insisted that we had ordered udon noodles. Annoyed, we ate the wrong dish and when paying we told the owner again that the lady had taken our order incorrectly. The elderly lady then complained loudly about us in a language we couldn't understand. The owner finally apologized to us but we won't be coming back.

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time.

The food was excellent and the portions were generous. We were very positively surprised. A real insider tip in Darmstadt.

The summer rolls with peanut dip were very tasty.

ATTENTION Always check the food on site when picking it up. Instructions on extras & allergens are simply ignored here. Even though you paid more for the udon noodles, the "cheaper" rice noodles are still served. Additionally, there was no seafood in my seafood soup other than three shrimp. Pineapples were simply added to my soup, which are not even on the ingredients list.

The restaurant has a strong Vietnamese flavor. It's crowded around 5-6am. The owner runs the kitchen himself and doesn't hire staff, so the food is always cooked with enthusiasm.

Great Vietnamese food, after having eaten here several times well and cheaply, we also ordered it for a celebration. Our expectations were exceeded.

Very authentic, tasty, fast, cheap, good! Always order the Nem (3) and the Banh Hoi (30). Bun Cha Ha Noi (26) is also great. Always my pleasure!!

Because of the good reviews, we wanted to give the store a try. But unfortunately we were very disappointed. Our food was served about 10 minutes apart. By the time my friend's food arrived, my food was already cold. The meat on BOTH dishes smelled rotten and there was gristle in the chicken in my friend's plate. The meat itself was very dry and smelled very unpleasant. I think this is because it was fried with older oil (which is used for every type of meat). When a service person came by, I asked her about it, but she just smiled and walked past. Probably didn't understand me because all the employees only speak shaky German. Both dishes didn't smell good and unfortunately didn't taste good either. If you order water, you get tap water but you have to pay €4. When we wanted to pay there was a little argument about the meat, but in the end we just paid for my dish and the drinks. After paying there was a rude comment that you still have to pay next time. But there won't be a next time! Overall, I can't recommend this store, the kitchen looked very unhygienic and the service was rubbish. A pity.

Super tasty and the atmosphere at the European Championships with the vitanmesen in the restorante is fun, I always like to come back. Like today for food and Germany game :) the service is very nice and all the employees

We ordered a soup noodle and waited 45 minutes before us. The two customers after us had already finished ours and we hadn't come to ask the waiter what happened. The male waiter wore glasses and blue short-sleeves. He didn't apologize or explain at all. He just said that we have to wait and walked away. When the food was served, he didn't even say an apology. He put it down and left. We are regulars and we really can't understand such an attitude. We are speechless😓

Exciting dishes with a lot of ingenuity. However, it should be noted that Saigon is no longer called Saigon these days. Whether there is a political message or just a marketing ploy is anyone's guess...

Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed after our visit to Xin Chao. I expect the food here to be extremely authentic, so I realize that I may simply not have access to this type of cuisine. Access or not, unfortunately we didn't like it at all. The soup was thin and tasted strangely sweet, the pork dish actually only consisted of coriander, as did the strange side dishes/salads(?). The cost of goods for these dishes must be in the cent range, but in the end we paid so much that it just annoyed us. Tastes are different - everything is clear, but what completely ruined our visit was the miserable service. Anyone who opens a business in Germany in which customer contact plays a central role needs at least rudimentary knowledge of German or at least English. Of the three drinks we ordered, two were wrong and one didn't come at all. Questions about the menu or follow-up orders went unanswered because all three "service employees" apparently didn't understand a word. When paying, the owner told me it wasn't possible to pay by card, but after a short discussion she suddenly did. Everything was very strange and unfortunately annoying for us, no risk of repetition.

I have visited this restaurant very often. The dishes here are absolutely perfect. However, I was not satisfied with the service attitude of an older waitress. She was very upset and even nagged me a lot when I asked her because the amount of food today was less than before. She even often insulted me in Vietnamese to her colleagues. I will never come here again and I certainly won't praise this restaurant.

The food is fresh and delicious! The restaurant is always busy. Even if you can't park right in front of the door, the journey is worth it! The atmosphere is rather simple and somewhat atypical. The food, however, is great! Whether on site or to take away. Here you will also find special dishes that are rarely found in other Asian restaurants. And at a great price-performance ratio!

Very high price-performance ratio! The noodle soup with braised beef tastes authentic and good. After ordering, food is served very quickly.

I always find it delicious here. Whether spontaneous or planned, the food is fresh and delicious. I didn't notice any strange things in the food like some reviews say.

One of my favorite restaurants!! :) Food & price TOP! Not super fancy, but simply authentic. Love the traditional dishes and now there are lots of veggie/vegan alternatives too. The Vietnamese café is also just so delicious. I've never been unhappy after a visit - I highly recommend it.

Delicious soups in huge portions

Really delicious restaurant with a varied menu. Due to the good food there is a lot of customer traffic, our waitress had her hands full. With a little kindness, everything from ordering to eating went smoothly. The food was very tasty. In addition to the Pho soup, we got a plate with sprouts, coriander and chili. The special sauce from the bottle for seasoning was a perfect complement to the Pho soup. The price-performance ratio is top. We'd love to come back.

Sehr gutes und authentisches vietnamesisches Essen (eher "Street-Food"). Kinderfreundlich! Zu empfehlen für Asien-affine Esser!

Voller Reinfall für mich. Zum einen kann sich die Mitarbeiterin meine Bestellung nicht vom Tisch bis zur Küche merken. Wie soll ich eine Nachfrage in vietnamesisch beantworten?! Dann wird das Essen nicht vor mich gestellt, sondern gegenüber 🤦. Wieder mal waren die gebratenen Glasnudeln schlecht zubereitet und dann waren Massen Koriander am essen und ich gehöre zu den Menschen, denen Koriander wie Seife schmeckt 🤮. Koriander stand in der Karte bei dem Essen nicht dabei. Nach zwei Bissen konnte ich nicht mehr weiter essen..

Sehr unfreundliche Mitarbeiter wenn ich könnte würde ich 0 Sterne geben … war sehr unzufrieden

Dikka einfach Zahnstocher im Essen. Hab neue Essen bekommen ok aber das geht net fit. Einfach Zahnspangenbürste.

Good food, good price and good quantity

Meine PHO BO Suppe hat mich an die Zeit in Viet Nam erinnert. War sehr lecker.

Die Bedienung war super freundlich und wirklich sehr zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente lädt eher zum schnellen essen ein, aber das sieht man ja schon von außen. Nun zum wirklichen Problem und weshalb ich nur einen Stern vergeben kann... Wir waren zu 2. und hatten beide Hänchen bestellt. Als das Essen gebracht wurde, waren wir uns nicht sicher was für ein Tier wir auf dem Teller hatten (Habe ich inzwischen auch schon öfter in anderen Rezessionen über dieses Restaurant gelesen). Wir fragten nach ob dies wirklich Hähnchen sei und die freundliche Mitarbeiterin bestätigte uns das es Hänchen wäre. Fazit: Mir war die ganze Nacht schlecht und meine Freundin musste sich sogar übergeben. Wir werden hier nie wieder etwas essen.

Zo lekker gegeten. De porties zijn te groot en de prijzen zijn laag. We hebben echt genoten en zijn zelfs de dag erna nog snel nog wat lekkers voor in de auto gaan halen. Hopelijk komen we ooit nog in de buurt.

Mein Pho Xao war groß und gut, aber nichts Spezielles. Die eine Köchin hat permanent gehustet, ich wäre besser weggelaufen. Preis mit EUR 9.00 günstig.

The main reason for my visit was that the kitchen is still open until late. The food is very tasty, and the portions are hughe. The price is rather cheap whenyou see what you get for the price. I had some rice noodles, with a mix of fish and meat, and it was delightful. It's right in Downtown Darmstadt, the place isn't very fancy, the decoration is rather basic. The service is ok, but in all around the experience is good. I would definetly visit again if i'm around.

Super leckeres Essen! Der Service ist manchmal etwas unaufmerksam und leider sind die Tische und Speisenkarten ziemlich klebrig. Da könnte man mal öfter wischen bzw. austauschen.

Hier ist einfach zu empfehlen. Fairer Preis und gute Qualität. Oft esse ich hier Bun Rieu oder Bun Cha Ha Noi. Location ist auch leicht zu finden, in der Nähe von Haltestelle Schloss. Chu Chien, der Chef hier, ist nice und freundlich

Ich kam zum Ladenschluss und bestellte Pho Bo, sie brachten ein anderes Gericht, ich ging nicht, der Service war sehr schlecht, der Mann nahm Ihre Bestellung entgegen, während er auf der Straße auf einer Bank saß und etwas aß, und ging dann an die Automaten. Ich esse immer mit dir, aber jetzt werde ich sehr selten sein.

Das Essen war nicht mein Favorit. Es schmeckt aber. Leider mussten wir sehr lange warten, weil wir am Rand saßen und uns niemand gesehen hatte. Unsere Bestellung musste nach 10 Minuten nachgefragt werden. Das Ambiente ist okay. Schlecht ist es hier nicht.

Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und lecker, die hausgemachte Limonade ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Authentisches Essen wird hier serviert. Wer es mag wird auf jedenfall Glücklich! Vorallem die Pho Nudelsuppe ist sehr zu empfehlen! Fast so gut wie in VN!

DE: Wer Vietnam liebt, der wird das Essen lieben. Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich schon im Xin Chao gegessen habe, jedoch mehr als 10 mal mindestens - daher ist es Zeit für ein Feedback. Vorneweg: Erwartet kein 5 Sterne, High-Class Restaurant, bei welchem alles perfekt ist, aber das muss es auch nicht, aber das ist m. M. nach der Charm -> Authentizität. Unabhängig davon, dass die Portionen überraschenderweise groß sind, ist das Essen verdammt lecker. :) Zu empfehlen wäre da u. a.: Bun Bo Hue, Pho Bo, Bun Bo Nam Bo, Bun Cha, Goi Cuon und Banh Cuon. Kurz gesagt - mein Magen ist immer kleiner, als meine Augen. Ich gehe gerne auch weitere 10 Mal dort hin, weil eben "Ngon quá". 🤤 Cảm ơn vì những món ăn ngon và dịch vụ của bạn ☀️ VN: Bất cứ ai yêu Việt Nam sẽ yêu thích các món ăn. Tôi không biết mình đã ăn ở Xin Chao bao nhiêu lần, nhưng ít nhất hơn 10 lần - vì vậy đã đến lúc phản hồi. Đầu tiên: Đừng mong đợi nó như một nhà hàng 5 sao, cao cấp và mọi thứ đều hoàn hảo, không nhất thiết phải như vậy, mà theo mình đó là cái duyên -> cái chân thực. Một khẩu phần thức ăn khá to và ngon. 😉 Đề xuất sẽ là: Bún Bò Huế, Phở Bò, Bún Bò Nam Bộ, Bún Chả, Gỏi Cuốn và Bánh Cuốn. Nói tóm lại - bụng tôi luôn nhỏ hơn mắt tôi. Thích đi 10 lần nữa vì "Ngon quá". 🤤

Sehr authentisch, drinnen bisschen sehr laut und Einrichtung schon sehr veraltet aber Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt total, die Portionen sind großzügig und vorallem Banh Cuon ist der Hammer. Das Personal ist super freundlich!

Unglaubliche Portionen und sehr freundliches Personal. Ich habe bisher immer einer der Suppen bestellt und bin begeistert. Mein Partner war von den Reisgwrichten auch immer sehr angetan! Hier kommen immer wieder gerne hin und können es allen nur weiterempfehlen!

Essen war gut, Menge war gut und geschmacklich war es gut. Man kann bestimmt das Essen bestimmt kritischer bewerten, aber finde man muss auch das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis berücksichtigen. Hätte ich von außen nicht erwartet, Einrichtung ist einfach und zusammengewürfelt aber ok. Wir werden wieder mal hier vorbeikommen.

Super lecker, ist mein neuer Vietnamesische Stamm Restaurant. Alles wird frisch zubereitet und die Soßen sind nicht wie üblich gekauft sondern werden nach Tradition zubereitet. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen!!!
