Witty's Currywurst in Berlin

Fantastic service and delicious currywurst

The sausage was very tasty, the sauce was ok, but not the best I've had so far. The fries were also ok-good, but nothing exceptionally good. It was too much mayonnaise and too much ketchup for me (apart from the curry sauce), but of course that's a matter of taste. That's why I give it 3.5 stars, which I round up to 4. Basically everything was solid, the sausage was very good, but otherwise it was pretty “average”.

Koch seemed annoyed and overwhelmed. Other employee very friendly. Fries floury and a little salty. Vegan curry piled high with powder. Too bad

So I came to Berlin and was looking forward to a currywurst. Well, there’s even an organic currywurst nearby. Well, I thought to myself, you should try it out. Ordered a double one in good faith that a Berlin company can't go wrong with a currywurst. Oh dear, what a horror. Ok, I'll let the fries pass, they were completely ok. The sausage, well you can't taste any of it. As mentioned in other reviews, they simply put curry powder on it, then a little ketchup (the measure was the same for everyone) and then the whole thing was covered with tons of curry powder. Well, if you are not able to make a decent curry sauce then you should leave it alone and not try to sell the stuff as “currywurst” with lots of curry. The whole thing with fries for around 15 euros. Sorry but this stuff isn't worth the price. I would rather go to McDonald's and I hate McDonald's. And you don't need to explain that a Berlin currywurst is ketchup with curry. Wrong but so wrong. The owners should go back to school. Unfortunately, the stuff only sees the bin. It tastes terribly bitter and just powder. Sorry, but something like that isn't possible for this price. And when you read bio a thousand times and the certificates posted jump out at you, you simply set your expectations at just as high a level. Unfortunately the food level at Wittys is in the lowest category! I'm sorry but I can't write more good things. Oh yes, about the other points. The staff doesn't really listen, seems rather listless and the atmosphere seems rather unkempt. Well, all in all a real disappointment but I know where I can get a really good currywurst in Berlin. See you at the ZOO train station. I'm now always happy to take the route from Friedrichstrasse! And no, I'm not from BERLIN!!!

The food is great - best Fries ever and good Currywurst. This place is located under a bridge and still cosy - dont know why people complain about it. Best thing here is David - he is always in good mood, feels the rhythm of the Reggae music and is super friendly. I will be back!

The currywurst with skin tasted mainly like bockwurst and was very small. The fries are very good. It's a very small matter. The people are friendly. It is very expensive for what you get.

For me, this was definitely the tastiest of the three vegan curry sausages that I tried in Berlin. Good bite, not too hard, nice texture, not too homogeneous and the sauce was nice and tomatoey and well seasoned.

Despite the late hour, I received friendly service and received my vegan currywurst after a short wait. The sausage is the best sausage I've had in a long time, only the sauce could have been a little spicier. Still a delicious snack for in between!

Unassuming spot under the railway bridge, but what it lacks in ambience, it more than makes up for with friendly service and great currywurst. They have vegan and gluten free offerings, and they tasted fantastic, at a reasonable price. What’s not to love!

Great little location. We went for gluten free currywurst and weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about cross-contamination and gluten issues. My son and I had a selection of items, all GF and all top notch. Will definitely go again. My go-to for GF currywurst!

I recently tried Witty’s Currywurst and had a great experience! The portion size of the currywurst was generous, and the staff were incredibly friendly, taking the time to explain the different types of sausages and sauces available. The prices were very reasonable for what you get, making it good value. While the sauce was tasty, I found it slightly lacking in curry flavor compared to others I’ve had, but it was still enjoyable. Certainly not the cheapest currywurst, but organic and delicious. And the seller (Witty himself?) was great. Rarely have I seen someone so friendly and attentive at a sausage stand. Extremely nice, you can see that he likes doing it. Keep it up!

I came to the shop on Friedrichstrasse during the evening. The food is fresh and tasty, the store is very clean and the guy behind the counter is very nice and provides a great service. I'd definitely come back!

Apart from the bread, the menu is safe for people on a gluten-free diet. Delicious sausages with fries. Very little space inside, hence the "take away" option. The order was taken by a very nice gentleman who explained that the cuisine was safe for celiacs and comprehensively answered various questions about the food.

The sausage was very burnt and could not be eaten. Furthermore, the cook/shop assistant was very rude when I told him that I didn't speak German and I didn't understand him, he started yelling at me in German...

It was like silk, a woman with green hair treated us very kindly and the food was good and cheap.

Travelling from New Zealand and the servers here are so nice! I wanted a quick snack on the go but that can be hard when you have celiac disease, I really appreciate the convenience of being able to get a hot gluten free meal on the go without over eating. Will definitely return !

Were in Berlin in 2014 for the final fare of the 9th grade. Every time I'm in Berlin, I go there once a day. Even if I'm passing through and have more than an hour's stay at the Berlin main station, I go there and have a quick meal Very tasty 😋 and the price-performance ratio is bomb 💣 always happy to keep it up 👍

Went with a friend and was pleasantly surprised everything was gluten free (apart from the roll of course). The meal was delicious and cheap enough for our budget. The meal was very quick to make but was also freshly cooked to order in front of us. The staff were very nice and attentive, and also spoke english which was a plus for us. If I came back to Berlin, I would definitely go back here!

Small, cute hole-in-the-wall place with an authentic vibe and friendly staff. Ordered the currywurst with no sides for a quick snack where we ate standing up right outside. Very quick and good price!

Everything was great and the staff was excellent. You can ask me to make you a combined plate of all types of sausages at a very good price.

Excellent meat quality, and David does a great job and has a very friendly manner. Luckily, now there are also spicy things. The only thing missing is onions :)

Unfortunately a bit expensive but I suspect that's due to the location. Otherwise it was great. It tasted delicious and the service was super nice - when they heard that my friend was in Berlin for the first time, they gave me a free currywurst to try 🫶

I dont know if this is the best currywurst in berlin but for sure it was worth it! We had the sausages without skin and fries with tsilli sauce or ketchup. The staff is pretty friendy. Maybe a slight minus is that we waited some time to get our food without the place being heavy crowded.

Yesterday we were in the Friedrichstrasse branch and had a delicious currywurst with great fries. The delicious garlic mayo is highly recommended! But our absolute highlight of the day was Mr. Lemke in this branch! Since my girlfriend has a pepper allergy and we had forgotten to leave out the curry powder to be on the safe side, we asked about the spice composition. Mr. Lemke spared no effort in the research. Rarely have we encountered such extraordinary helpfulness and customer friendliness in the catering industry!!! We'd love to come back!!!!

Good currywurst. I tried the menu #3 and it contains currywurst and potato chips. The staff(both the cook and the cashier were friendly and nice. They were kind enough to add spicy powder. The place was kinda small. We ate in the shop (standing in the corner). Overall, good experience. Thumbs up!

The vegan currywurst was very tasty and the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere is just a classic currywurst stall and not intended for on-site eating, there are only a few bar tables.

The currywurst and the sauce were very tasty. We waited a while, which was partly due to the long queue and partly because all the curry and bratwurst were freshly made. It wasn't there any longer and was "just warmed up briefly". Everything speaks very well for you☺️ The employees were super friendly. We can highly recommend the store.

I can highly recommend it. The sauce is nice and fruity. The fries are world class and the sausage is excellent. It's worth the money for 11.90 including a drink.

A delicious currywurst for €4.90 at the end of the day?! You can do it, but you have to take the time. Rolls “out”, so wait 15 minutes for them, sausage itself is delicious, ketchup is much too sour, preparation without asking “spicy or for girls” too slack… you don’t have to for that money. But ok for tourists 😉

Wonderful snack for a real Berlin feeling (I live here). What could be better than snacking on a vegan currywurst while standing with a view of the calming Friedrichsstrasse at 10:15 p.m.? Yay. The curry sauce is great, I put it on my fries when vegetarian sausage wasn't available yet. The vegan sausage is okay, the consistency could perhaps be a little firmer. Enjoyed it very much. Great!

Super delicious. Except rolls and beer 😌. everything is gluten free. Currywurst is super delicious. Both the organic meat version and vegan. Fries are delicious and if you like you can order a bottle of bubbly with the currywurst and fries for 39 euros. Very friendly service despite the large crowds.

Unfortunately not recommended, the sausage is only covered in normal ketchup. Curry 61 is a really nice curry sauce.

Various guides recommend tasting Currywurst as a typical dish. We found this place online and I must say that it did not disappoint us, the prices are average. The only thing that didn't drive me crazy was the quantity of ketchup, in my opinion a little too much compared to the portion (If I were to go back to it at least on the chips I would avoid asking for it as it is already present by default)

Betrug! Fuer das Essen bezahlt und nicht bekommen. Polizeiliche Anzeige ist raus.

Uns hat es super gefallen. Das ist qualitativ hochwertige Würste. Pomfri hatte auch exzellenten Geschmack sodass die überdurchschnittliche Preise total gerechtfertigt sind. Rund um Silvestertage gab es Bioglühwein (haben wir nicht probiert). Wartezeit war ok, nur paar Minuten. Die Mitarbeiter waren sympathisch und freundlich.

Wer die Currywurst + Pommes noch nicht probiert hat, hat definitiv nichts verpasst. Der stolze Preis in Höhe von 6,80 Euro lässt zudem vermuten, dass die Wurst mit Goldstaub angesetzt ist, ist sie aber nicht. Für diesen Preis müssen Currywurst + Pommes eines sein, nämlich außergewöhnlich! Insgesamt brauche ich diesen wirklich kleinen Snack nicht noch einmal…

Leider kann ich nur einen Stern geben. Wir sind total enttäuscht. Wir waren mit Freunden dort und jetzt ist drei von vier total schlecht. Servicepersonal nett, aber total überfordert. Note 4-5. Wurst nicht heiß. Note 5. Fritten schrecklich fettig und eine lieblose Soße. Note 5. Wir kommen auf keinen Fall wieder!

Nur weil es Bio ist, ist es keine Ausrede dafür, dass es schlecht schmecken darf… Hatte die vegane Vurst und die hat mich wirklich nicht überzeugt. Brötchen kostet extra und insgesamt dann 5€ für diesen kleinen Happen…

Egyik nap sikerült ennünk és nagyon finomat kaptunk, viszont másik nap zárás előtt 45 perccel már csak innivalót lehetett kapni... A fél várost átutaztunk azért, hogy glutén mentes ételt kaphassunk, mert cöliákiásként csak itt lehet currywurstot enni egész Berlinbe keresztszennyeződés mentesen.Ha a mi éttermünkben bezárnának 45 perccel hamarabb, mert nem akarnak dolgozni, már rég munkát keresnének...

Delicious and totally underrated. Also as a plus conscious about gluten and cater for gluten free. The people working here were very helpful 😊

Petit endroit très sympa, personnels accueillant et serviable, s'adapte aux langues (français, anglais, allemand...). Très sympathique et des currywurst délicieuses et de qualité ! Prix correct, très bon rapport qualité prix, je recommande !
