Hi, I found the currywurst more than disappointing. No taste, totally watery, not a pretty sight 🫣. There is something better on almost every corner in Berlin.

Konnopke is cult in Berlin. Fact! And somehow it has been in this place for as long as almost any of us can remember. This place on the central island is actually terrible. The subway rattles above it. Cars rush past next to it. And yet the Konnopkes never gave up, continually optimized the place and even built a small seating tent under the elevated train. They have a range of fan merchandise, have funny Santa hats on, are very friendly... and well, they have currywurst and other snacks. The cult sausage, like everything else, is a matter of taste. I found them okay in terms of price and taste, nothing more, nothing less. Nevertheless, you should be here once and get in line. Simply because you can feel Berlin here.

Haven't been here for a very long time. I had fond memories of Konnopke's during GDR times. Then came the price shock. Curry 3.30 and rolls (not great) 0.60€. The store also makes money from merchandising. I much prefer Curry Keule in Wedding and it's much cheaper. Everyone needs to know what they are paying for a curry. Bon appetit.

Currywurst stalls come and go. Konnopke is THE currywurst snack bar with an almost hundred-year history. As expected, the currywurst was very good. It doesn't get any better.

Not recommended!!! It seems to be a privilege to get something to eat there on Saturday evening in Schönhauser Allee...... Simply great, you can't say more! Very nice staff, clean and nice atmosphere. Delicious, no matter whether it's currywurst or boulette, the ketchup is awesome and addictive and the prices are really ok too. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately it's not as tasty as it used to be, but it's quite expensive. Apparently mainly tourists come here.

Unfortunately the taste was completely unsatisfactory. Currywurst was only slightly warmed and not crunchy, in my opinion the sauce was just ketchup. Neither spicy nor tasty. And also quite expensive. Therefore not recommended.

Stopped by Konnopke again after a long time. (March '23) Back then it was deleted, no idea why. A rogue who thinks evil of it. I can't say what I got there, at least not currywurst. It's just a good thing that the sauce is there otherwise the limp food would have tasted like nothing. Not to be compared with the old currywurst that was available there a long time ago. When I asked D. Konnopke / W. Ziervogel why the sausage no longer tasted the same as the original, I was told that it was no longer the sausage which still existed in the GDR era but was the product of product developers. The snack was a point on the specially planned sightseeing tour through Berlin. A stop that is intended to take the guest into the past of Berlin currywurst. But the sausage was really tasty in my opinion. A fine bratwurst, well fried. Great. Anyone looking for an authentic Berlin currywurst experience is in good hands here. Cult character. Every tourist should, if possible, visit there once. Recommended. It has a different feeling. Food friendly for service. The only negative... The line was very long so we waited in line for 50 minutes.

Worst curry sausage after four days in Berlin. We previously ate sausages at Wittys, Curry 61 and Kuhdamm 195. As the previous speakers have already written here, Konnopke's apparently only lives from its reputation. Sausage was soggy and disgusting, the sauce was unspectacular, and the bun was sticky. It's not worth the journey there. As I've also read here, they apparently have to sell mugs and merch to make money.

Pros: - Sausage (only without casing) still has a strong and good taste - Fries OK Cons: - Sauce too sweet (certainly a matter of taste) - Portions unfortunately noticeably smaller from year to year - against the background of inflation-related price increases (also in comparison to the relevant competitors), the price screw was turned up too much - Staff and service too changeable, often not interested and inattentive - Unfortunately, recently there has been a bit of a rancid fatty aroma in the sausage

If you are fan of traditional street food, this place is for you. Being honest, for my taste there was much too much ketchup on the curry wurst, and it did not have a strong enough curry taste; but fries were quite good as was the basic bratwurst. There was a long line, but the place is very efficient so it wasn't an issue. It was a fun lunch break (very handy to the interesting "GDR Museum in der Kulturbrauerei"), not a gourmet meal - so check it out and enjoy a place that's been operating since the 1930's!

Konnopke Currywurscht was a classic in GDR times because you had to queue for it and it was tasty. Whether in Weißensee on Malerstrasse or at the Dimitroffstrasse subway station (today Eberswalder Strasse) it was well attended and early from 6:00 a.m. onwards. Unfortunately it's no longer a hit today because it's going downhill. You order a currywurst, it floats in oil even on the cardboard. Furthermore, I just wanted ketchup without the powder (like in GDR times) but no, they cut it up - add ketchup and curry powder. When I said I wanted to eat without it, the answer came straight away: everyone eats like that and it has always been like that. Do you want them now or not? Oh yeah, as a sausage freak, I can't remember it's always been that way. Well, so that the store (in my opinion) still makes sales, they sell bags, cups and the like. When Ms. Waltraut Ziervogel still ran the store, people liked to go here for a sausage after their shift, but the good atmosphere here is gone. Me and my friendship are really dissatisfied with what a classic has become.

I think Konnopke is totally overrated. Unfriendly staff and the food is okay but expensive. They only do well because there is no competition nearby! If Curry were 36, the majority of people would go there.

Institution in Berlin, you can go there for a snack. Unfortunately there is no fast food, the queue is always waiting. And the special flair from before is unfortunately gone. Despite the cult chat maker, the prices are still moderate.

You have to like it somehow. With one of the most famous places in Berlin for the famous Currywurst. However, a bit poorly organized. The queues are relatively long and payment is made at the same station where the food is handed out. This means it takes a relatively long time to get something. (Saturday 6 p.m.: approx. 25 minutes). Our curry sausages were ok, but the portion size was quite manageable and the taste was a bit boring. I also found it relatively expensive for a snack bar, but I think you also pay for the name here. It's great that both Berliners and tourists come together here. You always sit or stand at the table with different people and you often have great conversations. Eating in the middle of traffic under the subway bridge is something, but it is also relatively loud and not for everyone. Conclusion: You should try it out. But there are definitely better places in Berlin for a currywurst.

So we had dinner here today and we were really looking forward to it because we heard a lot of good things about here... Wrong thought! The service is terrible, the employees are totally unfriendly and disrespectful and the food is not good. (Tastes like the currywurst from Kaufland) except for the fries, which were fine. (A miracle 🤩) I don't recommend this place at all and would also say that it was a mistake to eat here

When I'm in Berlin it's a must to eat a currywurst at Konnopkes. There is a photo where I am maybe 10 years old, now at least 64 years old and yesterday I returned again, always nice, keep it up!!!!@

Not open after 6pm? Not open on Sundays?? What kind of snack bar is supposed to be where you can't even get a sausage after work because it's already closed? I would like that luxury too! Other stores open at 9 a.m. and close at 9 p.m., sometimes plan a second shift...more people come and more sales. Funny concept but there are enough other good curry sausages.

Nach empfehlungen von Freunden aus Berlin , waren wir hier Mittagessen. Aber leider waren wir schon entäuscht. Currywurst ? Das war eine Nicht gerade spetzielle Wurst mit Tomaten Ketchup und gamz wenig Corrypulver. Nicht am entferntesten etwas mit Currywurst in meinem Sinne zu tun. Die Pommes waren aber sehr Lecker und die Atmosphere unter der Brücke war sehenswert. Aber nicht unser Geschmack.

good morning, The ladies at the counter are old Berlin women, the shop is an institution. I went there with my friend because she was happy that there would be vegan sausage there. Two vegan sausage dummies ordered with fries and beer. beer from the Kühli top. Fries red and white also great. The vegan sausage dummy is chopped into small pieces and fried really really dead. it was harder than the fries or concrete. Why do I offer the vegan option if I prepare it so poorly? Then you should say: we don't want vegan, buy meat. either offer it and do it properly or leave it alone. Haven't been there for years and was now disappointed. So I won't come back either.

A friend of mine recommended the shop to me and I drove there directly to the first roof. Dat Trömmelche: The shop was just closed! Although Google would have said yes, et woöhr op! After a small mourning sip, I went to the next roof and took a break and went there. Luckily it was op. That was bad, it was, well, fried and not at all tasty. The fries had a nice crunch and were edible, but nothing special. And the sauce? It was just ketchup without anything. But, as you say, you can waste a minute or two drinking a delicious beer. Everyone has to know for themselves

A very nice welcome. Menu selection very successful and clear. To eat: The sausage was okay; I've eaten much better. But the ketchup was another class, I would even tell you that it was the best ketchup I have ever eaten.

Legendary Berlin bar. Currywurst and fries delicious. People come all the time, but you don't have to wait long for your order. They even sell their own gadgets: T-shirts (EUR 24.50), mugs, bags.

It's delicious. We ordered set menu number 1 (2 curry wursts + 1 fries + mayo, 10 euros). If you look at the Google reviews, some people say it smells, but I didn't notice any smell. Compared to currywurst from other restaurants, the skin is slightly crispier. However, that doesn't mean it's any better than the typical currywurst at restaurants. It's similar to other currywurst places, but slightly more delicious. Still, it was nice to be able to eat in a cozy atmosphere while watching the cars go by as it was located in the middle of the road. Across from there is a famous kebab restaurant called ruyam gemose kebab2. It's perfect if you stop by konnopke first and ruymam second. The kebabs at Ruyam are large, so if you come back for a second time, ordering just one kebab for two people is enough.

Today we finally had a currywurst at Konnopke and we were very disappointed. The sausage was limp and tasteless, the sauce wasn't anything special and the bun was soft like rubber. We imagined something different since we always hear so much about it.

Sorry as a person who lives here since 20 years I can’t accept that price for a simple curry . It’s exactly the same Problem that the city became too expensive for long term habitants . Antikapitalista !

Es war einmal Lecker, aber das ist es leider nicht mehr! Der Wurst fehlt Farbe und zerfällt beim Essen, das Ketchup ist nicht mehr gewürzt. Was ist bloß passiert. Während der Corona Zeiten wurden scheinbar Sparmaßnahmen vorgenommen und diese nicht wieder entfernt. 10,20 € Kostet ein großes Menü und ist es leider geschmacklich nicht Wert. 3,40 € für ein kleines Bier. Danke

I especially prefer it for french fries. However, vegan sausage can also be preferred. They make their own ketchup, which offers a delicious taste.

We ate the currywurst with rolls and additional fries. Unfortunately the taste was disappointing for all 4. The cult getting past here is the real goal. Although it's not really nice to climb over the remains of pigeons beforehand (depending on which side you're coming from).

We ate our currywurst again today, August 15th, 2024. We have been convinced customers for 50 years. But what has become of it now is unprecedentedly bad! How can you sell such a bad product under this name? The sausage was completely tasteless, full of gristle and pale soggy.The sauce...no comparison to what it used to be.NEVER AGAIN!!!

Tastes are just different. In contrast to many other people, I think the currywurst there is terrible. I also find the ketchup sauce too sweet for me unpleasant.

Delicious bratwursts with all the trimmings. An institution in Prenzlauer Berg and a must for every visitor to Berlin. August 2024: I have to revise my impression a bit. The sausages have become smaller in diameter and more expensive. It still tastes good, but it's questionable whether I'll come back again given a price increase of 50%, but the tourists will help the owner get his S-Class and a fancy house. For me it's just a rip off and my last visit!!! Then it's better to do it yourself

Curryworst...sadly Konnopke's is not what it used to be. Now just living off its name and former good reputation, the currywurst is average at best. Not enough curry powder, too much ketchup and the bratwurst was tasteless, probably from being smothered in ketchup. While there's always a queue, it does move quickly and the staff are friendly enough, but frankly it's overpriced and over-rated. Think I'll stick to the Ketwurst at Alain's Snack instead.

Konnopke's Currywurst has been a hit since 1937! You can forget the stress of the day for a while with a snack and a cup of broth! A M U S S for Turis. Eberswalder Str. subway station. This oasis is located under the subway viaduct/bridge. Bon appetit!!

Currywurst Pommes klein 6,90€ kann man muss man aber nicht. Sehr kleine Portion, Wurst war noch sehr hell, weil die Schlange so lang war/ist. Nächster Tipp bitte. Dieser war aus der Berliner Morgenpost.

Konnopkes Ruf ist legendär und es ist schon lange kein Geheimtipp mehr, sondern eine Touristenattraktion. Deshalb gibt es immer eine lange Warteschlange. Es geht zwar recht flott aber darunter leidet leider die Qualität. Es ist alles immer noch gut, aber vielleicht nicht mehr die beste Currywurst von Berlin.
