Our first choice when we want to eat out with our international customers. The atmosphere is rustic, cozy, very inviting, simply beautiful. Whether in the old horse stable, in the bakery, in the rest of the restaurant or in summer on the terrace in the beautiful old town. The menu offers a wide but not overwhelming selection, with something for everyone, from pasta to fish and seafood to meat and the house classics. We have never been disappointed, on the contrary. You can taste that good products are used, the food is always perfectly prepared, very tasty, and the meat is cooked as ordered. The employees are very friendly and attentive, even when the restaurant is full, which is actually always the case, you never have the feeling of having to wait too long for your order and food. A great team that welcomes you, serves you and pampers you. Always a pleasure.

We were able to receive an invitation from lovely people for the second time. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not reserve the table twice as requested. In addition, there was now a time window, which puts a guest under pressure. Pour wine as quickly as possible so that you order as much wine as possible in a short time. Everything is under time pressure, and given the prices I absolutely don't want that. I want to slow down time and enjoy good food. You barely sit there before you order what you want to drink. The request to see a map is responded to with a roll of the eyes. How should I know what wine there is? Especially since the wine has to go with the food! I have to know what I'm eating! The food was also delivered incorrectly! No excuse! For something! It was conscious action! No drink on the house. Even though we knew the wrong table had been assigned. People have asked for it several times beforehand! Because it went wrong the first time. It was conscious there too! Not recommended if you want to invite nice people. The disappointment for the host at such excessive prices only gives you trouble in your own stomach! 2 stars Because the owners can't do anything about the ambience. But for service and quality

Excellent, friendly, cozy and tasty. Simply a good address for good food. A wonderful evening in a great atmosphere. The house's recommendations were a direct hit. The dishes were well prepared, both the turbot and the saddle of hare. Despite a full house, absolutely good service. Always asked if everything was okay, extremely attentive. It's a pleasure to be a guest here and it feels a bit like being at home. Thank you for the lovely evening and the nice round of grappa at the end.

We were there and had our Christmas party. It was very crowded but I still thought it was absolutely great. Very friendly staff, especially attentive and quick. Top menu and the food tasted great. You should definitely go there.

Terrible service. A group of about 10 people - we were assigned a waiter who did not speak English, but was a smart guy. Food, rather average. No music. Unfavorable price-quality ratio.

Tasty food, but service is so bad

Everything was good until… We asked for a wine card and was told that there is none, but we will be advised by a waiter. We said we wanted a bottle of red and a one of white. He only brought one bottle each and let us try. It was really good so we said we’d go for that. Then, when we wanted another bottle of red we were told to reconcider as he sold us the most expensive bottle… it turned out it was 290 euros. We were a bit shocked and felt tricked… that was definitely not cool.

The food was good, but we were very dissatisfied with the service. We requested a wine menu but were told that the waiter would recommend a wine instead. He suggested one option without mentioning the price. After we drank it, we found out that the bottle cost €290, which was shocking and felt very misleading. Transparency is key in such situations, and this experience left a bad impression after all .

Cozy restaurant in a quaint old building The entrance is a bit inconspicuous, but behind it there is a cozy restaurant in old walls and beams. There is a delicious country beer here, the meat was well fried, the grilled vegetables were still crunchy. Even the chicken breast fillet was juicy and still well cooked. For dessert there was crème brulee with a crispy crust. The service was quick and very attentive, the price of the food was reasonable. All in all a recommended restaurant.

From the ambience, to the service and of course the food, a full 5 stars. Nothing more to add :-) It's fine dining and you might pay a little more than you would elsewhere, but you'll get a wonderful meal. The staff is very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. I would love to come back.

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. The onion soup tasted almost exclusively like bouillon cubes, the schnitzel was burnt in one place, the fried potatoes were burnt and the onions in it were raw. The tiramisu simply tasted disgustingly like liquor. The icing on the cake was an incorrectly served coffee. When I let him go back, there wasn't even an apology (the waitress with the long braid). Something kept going back at other tables too. But at least the waitress didn't care. Unpleasant evening. Never again and definitely not recommended. And WAY too expensive for what was delivered.

Returned to this restaurant after many years, still available the house specialties which luckily still tasted the same! So if I'm in the area I'd love to come back again!

I haven't eaten this GOOD in a long time! Old town building with a great ambience and a long tradition in the hospitality industry with only very good recommendations. Very ambitious service, very nice and presented the recommendation of the day with the card. First of all, a greeting from the kitchen that raised expectations for the main course even higher. The food came to the table quickly, even though the house had many guests. The meat was cooked to perfection, crunchy vegetables, deliciously seasoned oyster mushrooms that also had a good consistency. Sure the bill was higher than normal, but the evening was worth every last penny! The tip you are happy to give is correspondingly large. Thank you for the good food and the lovely evening.

We were in Lüdenscheid yesterday for work with several people and came here for dinner in the evening. It was a perfect evening! The waitresses were very, very nice and attentive, the food was absolute poetry and we all felt very comfortable. Great location!

Standard beer garden, centrally located and really rustic. I was there with my friends just to drink, Budweiser and Pilsner Urquell. Okay, I usually drink beers from the area I'm in - but they didn't have any exports (helles, drafts, lager - all the same) on tap, so Budweiser from the Czech Republic instead of local beer. We only had fries for dinner, which were ok, but that doesn't mean anything, I can do that at home too. If the fries are bad somewhere, I'll never go there again because I say, if you fail because of the fries, then everything else can't be good either. Upon request there was even a round of schnapps on the house, which I thought was great - but maybe that's a custom in the Sauerland. I don't know, I'm not from there... So - in the end we all had a lot of fun and staggered home again. Goal achieved!

Always something special. Excellent, upscale cuisine and top service. We were definitely not there for the last time. Update: We were here again recently and had a delicious meal in the beer garden!! :))

As a native of Lüdenscheid, I haven't been to Lüdenscheid and especially not Essen for a long time. I got the recommendation to go to Schweijk and can only say - I was totally impressed by the food, (which was excellent), the service and the ambience. I wish some restaurants would offer their guests so much attention and friendliness. Our family dinner was such a success. And we will come back. Many thanks to the Schweijk team.

Ate at this retaurant on two seperate occaisions while touring Germany on a motorcycle tour with three friends, The restaurant is the oldest building in the town and full of character. There's a drinking / eating area outside but inside you're treated to an oldy / worldy interior full of character and charm. The cave type dinning rooms of the building are something else and added to the theatre of the meals. Staff were fantastic with a special mention to Panti who looked after us on both visits and was exemplary. The food is second to non and I mean second to non. We had one of the specials at the time which was the calamari. It was so good we ordered it again on our return visit. For mains we ordered steaks on the first visit and turbot on the second visit. Both just faultless and cooked to perfection. On our second visit it was one of my friends Birthdays and the fuss and trouble they went to was amazing. I honestly cannot speak highly enough and five stars is an injustice when it should be 10!

In addition to a very stylish restaurant (the outdoor area is also great), the Restaurant zum Schwejk offers its guests high-quality food (perfectly prepared fish or perfectly grilled types of meat). The staff is very attentive and accommodating. The price/performance ratio is in the right proportion. The small greeting from the kitchen (bread, aioli and olives) and the Marsala at the end are nice touches that give a nice aftertaste to the visit to the restaurant. You feel completely at home here and we will definitely come back - 5 stars 🌟 given with a clear conscience!

Super rustic atmosphere in the basement, first class service! Only the food was very little, but extremely expensive and the taste had room for improvement. Nevertheless, the restaurant was packed and reservations were urgently required. However, no longer for me, who wanted to go there to eat and came out hungry...

You can't complain. All expected wishes have come true. It's a shame that Lüdenscheid is one of the few cities in the Sauerland that still has such decent cuisine late at night. Excellent and completely happy.

We went to this restaurant at the weekend with my wife and four-year-old son and loved it. Despite making a reservation at short notice, we got a table. The service was extremely nice, professional and attentive. Our starters – grilled calamari, flambéed goat cheese with arugula salad and fried sardines – were excellent. For main courses we chose the daily menu: freshly caught fish and perfectly grilled veal medallions. Everything was excellently prepared and very tasty. The restaurant is located in a beautifully decorated half-timbered house, which contributes to the pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. At the end we even received a drink on the house, which rounded off the experience. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service, especially if you choose dishes from the set menu. Overall, a wonderful experience that we would happily recommend!

Fortunately, the menu is clear, based on the motto: “Class, not quantity!”, which is also reflected in the quality of the dishes! We went to the Schwejk inn today and were absolutely thrilled. A great team, very friendly, great table decorations, and the food was heavenly. As a starter there was: Homemade tomatoes and fish soup with plenty of ingredients. The main course was: steak plate and crusty plate. As a grade we give it a 1. We would be happy to come back.

Cozy rustic shop with friendly waiters. It's nice and quiet and the distances to the other tables are also good. The food tasted great. Unfortunately I can't recommend the beef carpaccio, the meat had no taste.

Exceptional ambience, gladly again.

Very great restaurant. The map is very pleasantly clear. Not too many dishes. (Also a great selection of about 5 fish dishes, which we didn't expect). At first glance, the outside of the building looks more like it houses staid, old German cuisine. Inside there is a surprising mixture of rustic modernity. Very cozy. The food is terrific. The meat on point. The fish is buttery/tender. We had sea bream "Royal" and tagliatelle with beef fillet tips. There is also a delicious Primitivo and the usual local beer. The homemade tiramisu is also a poem.

Veal medallions in red wine sauce with grilled vegetables and rosemary potatoes, delicious. Really a good atmosphere in the restaurant, we were in the vaulted cellar. Very friendly and attentive service. Absolutely recommended 😃.

Wer nach gutem Essen in einem tollen Ambiente sucht, der ist hier genau richtig. Zwar hat sich einiges seit dem letzten Besuch Anfang der 2000er verändert, aber gleich geblieben ist die gute Qualität. Allerdings haben die Preise etwas angezogen.

Auf Einladung durch Freunde waren wir hier zum Abendessen. Die Speisenauswahl ist groß. Das Essen war ok. Jedoch, nichts besonderes, dass es sich lohnt noch einmal einen Tisch zu reservieren. Wir waren zu 5 und alle hatten ähnliches geäußert.

Ein super tolles Restaurant. Es schmeckt hervorragend gut. Das Ambiente ist super schön. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Eins meiner lieblings Restaurants. Mit Abstand das beste sogar. Das Personal ist Klasse, versteht sein Fach und sorgt stets für volle Gläser oder Teller. Wirkt nicht gestresst oder überfordert, eher entspannt und spass an der Arbeit. Das Essen ist ebenfalls hervorragend. Ein dickes Lob an den Koch. Ich persönlich esse am liebsten das Küsschen, es ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Ein sehr schönes Wirtshaus, Service 1. klasse und auch das Essen war richtig lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Absolut zu empfehlen. Das Essen ist super, die Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Ambiente sehr gemütlich. Damit hat man schon alles gesagt. Wir hatten den Steakteller "Zum Schwejk". Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt perfekt gebraten, die Pilze mega lecker allerdings hatten wir Bratkartoffeln genommen die waren richtig gut. Preis/Leistung ist sehr gut Alles in allem wirklich sehr gut. Wir werden wieder kommen

Eines der besten Gerichte die ich je gegessen habe. Unglaublich lecker, das Fleisch war perfekt auf dem Punkt gebraten, das Gemüse knackig und der Reis super! Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und die Bedienung freundlich und schnell. Man sagt ja 100% geht nicht aber hier sage ich: „doch es geht“.

Sehr schöne Lokalität. Leider war die Qualität des servierten Krüstchens eher deutlich unterdurchschnittlich. Die gereichte Soße bestenfalls lauwarm, das Spiegelei eher kalt. Portion eindeutig zu klein. Ein erneuter Besuch ist ausgeschlossen. Das Personal hingegen sehr freundlich.

Da das in einem sehr alten Gebäude ist Ambiente ist sehr schön. Service Personal ist immer nett und freundlich. Essen schmeckt auch immer wieder gut.

Das Lieblings Restaurant meiner Verstorbenen Mama, ich kann verstehen warum das so war. Ich gehe, einmal im Jahr dahin, nicht oft genug, denn es war auch heute wieder überragend. Jedes Jahr werden die noch besser!

Guter Service, gutes Essen. Es war recht voll, bedingt dadurch ist die Lautstärke nicht zwingend geeignet um sich in Ruhe zu unterhalten. Aber das ist nur als Hinweis gedacht und keine Kritik!

Waren spontan da. Das Lokal war zwar voll, wurden aber sehr freundlich gebeten kurz zu warten und haben sogar für die 5 min Wartezeit auf unseren Tisch noch 2 Getränke aufs Haus bekommen. Essen war MEGA, Ambiente war MEGA, das Personal richtig freundlich und zuvorkommend. Gerne demnächst wieder.

Guten Abend! Komme grad wieder nach Hause und war gerade auf einer Geburtstagsfeier gewesen. Wir waren sieben Personen und jeder hatte ein anderes Gericht und allesamt waren sehr zufrieden frisch, lecker und gut zubereitet. Ein tolles Ambiente, gerne wieder und das Wichtigste : freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal- so muss das !! Ich sage immer, Qualität ist, wenn der Kunde zurückkommt, nicht die Ware 😀

Freundlicher Empfang und durchgehend höfliche und schnelle Bedienung. Beim Rausgehen zur Tür begleitet und auch aufgehalten. Alles sehr sauber und stilvoll. Essen war durchgehend frisch zubereitet, von guter Qualität und sehr lecker. Freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch in Lüdenscheid. Inzwischen waren wir ein paar Mal da und die Fahrt hat sich jedes Mal gelohnt. Immer noch ein sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Tagesempfehlungen haben sich immer gelohnt und auch die Gerichte der normalen Karte sind einfach richtig gut. Zum Essen den Malbec und die Fischsuppe sowie die Schnecken vorab ist bei mir schon fast Pflicht.

Wir waren als Familie hier zum Abendessen . Alle waren soweit zufrieden mit dem Essen. Leider war mein Entrecot durchweg hart /zäh obwohl der Garpunkt perfekt war. So etwas kenn ich nur von Jungbulllenfleisch.

Wir waren mit 13 Personen im März 2023 dort. Das Essen war top, sehr nette Bedienung. Gute Atmosphäre im Kellergewölbe. Sehr zu empfehlen.

2 x gegeten samen met partner. Mooie locatie, juist buiten centrum. Mooi authentiek ingericht, gezellig. Vriendelijke bediening. Heel lekker gegeten. Eerste keer salade van het huis en tweede keer kabeljauw met spinazie. Mijn partner at vlees en was ook supertevreden. Je kreeg in afwachting van de bestelling, brood met wat beleg. Na het eten kreeg je ook een drankje van het huis.

Super urige Lokalität mit Flair. Nettes und super zuvorkommendes Personal. Essen ist Top. Wir waren dass erste mal dort und haben uns super wohl gefühlt

Was soll man hier bemängeln? Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre, Essen exzellent, Steak auf den Punkt, Service trotz voller Hütte sehr freundlich, flott und aufmerksam. Ohne Reservierung geht hier nichts und wir durften erleben warum. Weiter so!
