We just drove to Saarburg and spontaneously wanted to spend the night there. We got a small room at the horse market. It was clean and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was ok the next day too.

We were here just to eat and it was delicious. Friendly staff and very good service.

The restaurant prices here are too high in comparison and the portions are just enough. The chicken breast comes breaded and is not on the menu. The salad is a bit bland. Service was friendly, but slightly stressed.

Friendly reception. Good and clean room. Breakfast okay. I could store my bicycle safely.

We always enjoyed being guests at the Tavern at the Horse Market, but last Sunday was a big disappointment. On the menu there was only one fish dish on the asparagus menu (and a salad with salmon trout fillets). There was also no beef dish, just pork and chicken breast. My wife had an asparagus soup in which the chef was “particularly good” about the salt. Afterwards we had the asparagus dish once with zander fillet and boiled potatoes, but these were sold out... Then there were 3x chicken breasts with curry sauce, noodles and salad. Here too the boss had a heavy hand with the salt so that it was difficult to eat. Now here's the thing: the chicken breast was pressed meat, the sauce was probably a ready-made product that just had to be boiled with water. And the price, well, you decide for yourself whether €30 is appropriate for 4-5 asparagus spears and some zander and out of boiled potatoes... Under no circumstances is €20 appropriate for over-salted pressed meat and ready-made sauce! When we arrived around 1:15 p.m., most of the tables were already eating, only a table of six had probably just ordered. We finally got our food at 2:30 p.m.... In the supermarket canteen, the food is much better, the quality of the products is higher and the price is half as much. If you want to avoid disappointment, don't go there, definitely not! Unfortunately the restaurant no longer has anything to do with the one we visited last summer :o(

Good home cooking at a fair price. Cozy vaulted cellar

Good food in a rustic atmosphere and with good, friendly service. Just a block away from the waterfall, it's easy to endure and enjoy.

Tasty, down-to-earth and a chef with desire and motivation...

Rooms are pleasantly large and clean. But the mattresses are far too soft and the pillows are far too thin. Unfortunately, contrary to the description, there was no safe in the room. The operator is very friendly and prepared a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning. The location is ideal for exploring the small town of Saarburg. For the pure city, one afternoon is more than enough.

Nicht zu empfehlen. Im Eingangsbereich riecht es nach Schimmel. Der schöne Gewölbekeller ist ungemütlich weil es sehr kalt ist. Am besten war noch der Wein und die nette Bedienung. Leider war das Essen überhaupt nicht gut. Das Steak was in der Karte als Rumpsteak (31 euro) steht war 1 cm hoch, durchwachsen und total zäh. Die Portionen sind nicht besonders groß. Salate ok. Gemüse ist TK Kaisergemüse. Sehr schade, war früher top, heute flop.

Kabouter has been coming here for years and it is like coming home. Once you have arrived, you can go to the hotel parking lot (fee of a few euros per day 🤷‍♂️) and enter the hotel at a pleasant distance. As always, warmly greeted and a glass of beer 🍺 before Kabouter does something else. Then to a spacious room and things installed and then on foot to all kinds of addresses and friends and acquaintances.👍🍺😋

"Zum Pferdemarkt" is a hotel and restaurant. Google only queries the hotel, but I only rate the restaurant! Even reserving a table by telephone was quick and uncomplicated, and the kitchen times from 5 p.m. were customer-friendly. I find the restaurant very cozy and rustically renovated, the staff quick and friendly. And of course the food is important: I was very satisfied with the quality and price and will definitely come back Addendum: Yes, I came back - unannounced: big disappointment! Not because the restaurant was (still) full of a group at 1 p.m., but because of the false statement that if you wait half an hour you can get lucky. Return at 1:30 p.m., restaurant empty. But even though kitchen hours last until 2 p.m., we were no longer allowed in. The staff probably wanted to finish early ☹️👎. They could have saved us half an hour of waiting if they had said the right thing. Of course, other restaurants were also closed.

Very nice location with vaults, friendly staff and a nice place to stay overnight with a delicious breakfast. 😃👍

We spent one night in this hotel. The hotel has been extensively restored. I really liked the guest room with the old masonry. Our hotel room was spacious and clean, the furniture was a bit old. The breakfast was good.

Delicious food and quiet location despite tourism

Da wir nicht reserviert hatten, aber dennoch gerne draußen essen wollte, bat man uns erst in den Gastraum, um zu sehen, was sich noch machen ließe. Bereit 10 Minuten später hatten wir einen Tisch im Freien. Das Essen war gut, die Bedienung sehr freundlich, ein kleines Versäumnis wurde sofort kundenfreundlich gelöst Wir hatten dort einen netten Abend und würden bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Saarburg dort bestimmt wieder essen.

Sehr gut ausgebucht... reservieren empfohlen.

Einem schönen Wochenende wurde von dem sehr familiären Personal und dem hübschen Zimmer ein zusätzliches Highlight gegeben.

Schon öfter sehr lecker gegessen und diesmal gemütlich draußen gesessen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder...und die Info auf dem Tisch über verschiedene Sehenswürdigkeiten in Saarburg war wirklich gut - auch für uns war ( wir wohnen in der Nähe von Saarbug) die ein oder andere neue Info dabei 😀!

Die Buchung war unkompliziert ohne Schnörkel, das wünscht man sich so. Unseres Zimmer war zweckmäßig ohne Besonderheiten. (für längeren Aufenthalt etwas zu klein) Freundliches Personal, lecker Essen, alles war sauber wir waren zufrieden. Preis und Leistung würde ich sagen hat gepasst. Wir würden dort wieder buchen.

We stayed here with a group on our cycle tour. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were very comfy and clean. The breakfast was really good. Plenty choice with healthy options. Would recommend this hotel in this beautiful village.

This place is slightly away from the tourist center and we like that as we find better restaurants, quality and service and this one did not disappoint. The restaurant is attractive and traditional, the staff really friendly and welcoming, the food top notch quality so overall superb experience.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, feundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung, das Essen war eher mittelmäßig. Wir haben ausschließlich gegessen, von daher keine Bewertungen fürs Zimmer.

Sehr charmantes Restaurant, das Stil und Atmosphäre vereint, ohne im Geringsten abgehoben zu sein. Die Speisekarte ist angenehm übersichtlich und bietet doch für jeden Geschmack etwas. Besonders zu empfehlen aus unserer Sicht die Gerichte mit dem frischen Zander. Sowohl der Salat mit Fischvariation als auch das Zanderfilet sind herausragend. Auch das Schnitzel und die Wirtshauspfanne sind sehr lecker. Die Weinauswahl ist so üppig, wie man es an der Saar erwarten kann, und mit Kraftbräu aus Trier gibt es auch für Biertrinker*innen eine leckere Alternative. Wir waren schon zweimal hier und kommen beim nächsten Besuch in der Heimat gerne wieder.

Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!! Haben vom 14.02. bis 17.02.2023 im Wirtshaus zum Pferdemarkt einen wunderschönen Kurzurlaub verbracht. Hier passt einfach alles. Bei der Ankunft wurden wir sehr herzlich von Frau Bous und Ihrem Sohn empfangen. Wir hatten die Suite gebucht, alles tiptop sauber, waren rundum zufrieden. Leckeres Frühstück vom Buffet, es wurden auch frische Rühr und Spiegeleier auf Wunsch zubereitet. Im historischen Restaurant und Gewölbekeller konnte man erstklassige Speisen genießen. Das gesamte Team super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vielen lieben Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

Très bel endroit pour manger en couple ou en famille ..carte restreinte mais efficace..dans l assiette copieux et très bon ..les prix sont très contenus ..le service est adorable ..au final super soirée pour un excellent repas ..! Je recommande vivement nous ne serait pas déçu !

Das Essen war lecker und überschaubar. Die Preise dem Tourismus angepasst. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und immer parat.

Hier van middag heerlijk gegeten echt super goed Vriendelijke bediening leuke kaart en niet duur. Gezellig ingericht.

Service très sympathique, mais les serveurs parlent seulement anglais et allemand, le menu est écrit en allemand. Le repas est simple( grillades) mais bon et copieux, typique de la région. Comme de partout en Allemagne le vin et l'eau ne sont pas compris et renchérissent rapidement la note. un joli morceau de porc (beefteak ) légumes et pommes de terre sautées 17, 50 euros, un verre de 20cl de vin blanc 5.90, une bouteille d'eau 50 cl: 4euros90, un café 2,80.

Tysk mat när den är som bäst. Servicen minst lika bra. Åt olika rätter, allt var klasse! Goda lokala viner likaså. Rekommenderas!

Es gibt eine kleine Karte, daraus das Schnitzel mit Champignons gewählt. Große Portion, das Fleisch saftig, die Pommes dazu knusprig. Ärgerlich nur, dass der Salat erst kam, als ich das Schnitzel schon fast gegessen hatte, Die sehr freundliche Bedienung hat sich nett entschuldigt.

Tegen 18:00 uur het dorp ingelopen. Veel restaurants waren vol. Bij aankomst bij dit restaurant werd er plek voor ons gemaakt helemaal volgens de Corona regels. Dit was dan ook de laatste plek die ze aan konden bieden, klanten die na ons kwamen werd verteld dat ze vol zaten. Erg lekker gegeten en gedronken. Rustig gezeten ondanks dat onze tafel bij de ingang van de keuken/bar zat. Bediening wat top! De 2 dames liepen hun benen uit hun lijf, boden ook hun excuses aan als we even moesten wachten. Echt een aanrader om hier te gaan eten!👍🏻

Nur ca. 50 Schritte vom Hotspot am Markt und Wasserfall entfernt liegt dieses Rstaurant und Hoztel entfernt. Und sofort ist man mit dem nötigen Abstand zu den Touristen-Massen, die ohne Mundschutz dort herum laufen. Eine Oase der Ruhe, Danke! Das kompetente und freundliche Personal erfüllt die Aufträge und Extrawünsche mit der nötigen Ruhe und Schnelligkeit. Das Essen entspricht den Erwartungen der Regionalen Küche. Natürlich ist die Speisenkarte wg. Corona entsprechen abgespeckt, erfüllt jedoch die unterschiedlichen Vorstellungen der Gruppe. Wir haben draußen essen können, man war jedoch vorbereitet, bei Regen im Gastraum beirten zu können.

We are going quite often to Saarburg and have already tried various restaurants. Most were average or not worth going back to. So we had a very nice surprise discovering this restaurant. At first sight it seems quite traditional, yet the food was very tasty. I had chicken with noodles and a sage sauce, which gave the whole food a modern touch. The desert, on the other hand (waffles with nectarine ragout) was rather disappointing. The waffle was rather dry and the ragout (initially forgotten on one of the portions) was mostly nectarine cut in small cubes. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at some points. However, we will definitely go back to this place and hope to discover more from the menu.

Had dinner here with family. Food was good price a bit high maybe. Service was friendly maybe a bit stressed.
