Delicious food, nice service and a good price!

Six of us dined at this restaurant in Saarburg over the weekend and spent a total of two and a half very pleasant hours there. All of the dishes served to us were truly delicious, with their delicate, savory flavors. Our meat, whether schnitzel, medallions, or steak, was cooked to perfection and was therefore very juicy. Overall, we found the dishes we tried to be very good both in terms of taste and quality. However, the quantity of some dishes was a bit limited, so we would have preferred a bit more substantial. In our opinion, the antipasti platter, in particular, was completely out of proportion between price and quantity. The menu offers a good selection overall, so every guest should be able to find a dish to suit their taste. A larger selection of appetizers might be worth considering. The modestly sized, simply modern dining room offers a pleasant atmosphere for dining and relaxing. The restaurant also offers an outdoor terrace right next to the waterfall, which creates a wonderful ambiance in the heart of Saarburg and is a lovely place to sit when the weather is nice. The service staff was very friendly and definitely contributed to our enjoyable and entertaining evening, but towards the end, we felt they were a bit too forward. Overall, we really enjoyed our dining experience here and can therefore recommend this restaurant. We would certainly be happy to return.

No breakfast available. You have to go 500m further for breakfast, but they don't tell you. The man or woman is sick or doesn't feel like it. NEVER AGAIN.

Friendly waiters maintain a professional distance from the guests. Clear language. Excellent meat quality. Delectable appetizers, side dishes, and desserts. Regional wines with impeccable balance. The atmosphere is like a living room, and I always feel welcomed at home.

The location is simply stunning. We made a reservation on a Monday and had a table right by the waterfall. The waiter was very attentive, constantly asking if we needed anything or if he could bring anything else. It was an all-around wonderful stay. The food, the table, the service, the ambiance, everything was perfect. Thank you, we'd love to come back.

We only used the restaurant, so we can't comment on the hotel. Beautifully located, directly above the waterfall. The weather allowed us to sit outside. The food was delicious and attractively presented. The prices were reasonable in our opinion, especially considering that you're sitting right next to a hotspot.

Hello, the Zunftstube has a very nice location, and the service was fast and friendly. We always felt well looked after. Unfortunately, a portion of fried potatoes was missing, which was only served upon request. The steak was excellent quality, but it could have been cooked a little less long to be perfectly cooked. Additionally, the side dish portions were a bit small, so most of the people who ate with us weren't completely full. Overall, however, it was a pleasant evening with potential. Conclusion: The portions should be larger or the prices should be lowered. Therefore, I can only give it 2 points, because no matter how good it tastes, if you eat, you have to be full.

They don't speak English. They offer a hotel stay with parking. They don't mention that it's quite a distance from the hotel. They also repeatedly say on the phone that the hotel is closed (even though you've already booked and paid).

Attempted to stay here. The free parking is not near the hotel however. It's also not really easy to reach this hotel by car. When doing a road trip, I'd suggest other accomodations, especially when travelling with heavy bags. Also the staff is less then helpful, and lacking English language skills (something I personally believe should be mandatory for working in hospitality services.)

We stopped by for dinner while visiting the town of Saarburg. The food was good; the pizza dough wasn't crispy, but it was delicious, as was the excellent tarte flambée.

We had a delicious meal at the Zunfthaus, the service staff were very friendly and competent, we will be happy to come back..🫶😄

Hunger drove us to the restaurant "Zur Zunftstube." Unfortunately, the food there was terrible. I ordered the Saarburger Pfannenchen (sautéed pan) with fried potatoes, and my wife ordered a Wiener Schnitzel with fries. My wife found the schnitzel too dry and the fries soggy and undercooked. In my Pfannenchen (sautéed pan), the pork medallions were dry and the fried potatoes were partially burnt. Both white wines I drank were too acidic for my taste. My wife's red wine had tartar in it. Disappointed and €62 poorer, we left. The service was friendly and the location is very nice.

Pasta Carbonara was dry. When we asked for salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese, they didn't realize it wasn't a tasty pasta. When we paid, they offered to make a new one; we prefer to eat together, so that wasn't an option. The schnitzel was small, soggy, and tasted fine. We were charged the full amount. It was to be expected when a terrace is run by just three young men, around 18/20 years old. —— Response 2: We didn't want a new one; they only asked when we were paying; they didn't ask if it was okay at any other point... A bit illogical, then... judging by the other reviews, this must be your way of doing things.

Very nice restaurant with an outdoor terrace. The service was very friendly and attentive, leaving nothing to be desired. The food was very good, but the pizzas were fantastic. I almost never write reviews. But today I have to give this wonderful restaurant a positive review. We received a very friendly welcome. Nothing was left to be desired. Be it the wool blanket for Junior, as it was relatively chilly on the outdoor terrace, or the umbrella that kept us dry as we made it back to the car. The food was incredibly delicious. And service like this is something many restaurants can only wish for! It was a very nice visit, and we'll be back soon ☺️

Dear Zunftstube team, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredibly warm hospitality. The breakfast at the partner hotel, 300 meters away, offers everything healthy and unhealthy. And the short morning walk is good for you. The free hotel parking, also 300 meters away, is perfectly fine. A few steps can't hurt, and I'm sure that people with walking difficulties would also be helped. The food in the restaurant was excellent. I tried quite a few dishes: pasta, meat (very high quality!), tarte flambée. Very good food!! And such friendly and humorous service. It was a real treat. The rooms are clean, the beds very comfortable. The furniture has a bit of an older charm, but it didn't bother me in this case. I had a sporting event on Sunday, and you helped me a lot with the preparation and follow-up, with the evening ice cubes. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. We had a delicious meal here, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The friendly waitress gave us good advice on the trout! It was pan-fried in butter and perfectly prepared. Compliments to the chef! The young waiter spoke his best Dutch. It wasn't necessary, but it was very nice. A beautiful memory in a beautiful city.

The pizza is delicious, the sauce is made from fresh tomatoes, the vegetables on top are crispy and fresh. The wine is extraordinary - Riesling Spätlese - my favorite in this region. I recommend it!

We highly recommend the Zunftstube! Incredibly friendly and attentive. Even after ordering, I was reminded that there were carrots in the food (due to my allergy). It's truly amazing when a waiter turns you away at the door – saying, "We're already closed" – even though there are easily ten customers sitting outside. And then he continues serving those same guests for another hour and a half. It was very interesting to watch. Top-notch service – well-deserved, with a proud one-star rating!

The food in relation to the price, not satisfied.

The schnitzel was simple and not a high-quality dish. But you can't expect much for 18 euros, the rest was good.

We are currently taking a short vacation on the Saar loop and visited Saarburg today. By a happy coincidence we discovered the guild hall. Despite the fact that a larger company was expected, a free place was still available for us. We immediately felt welcome and were served very warmly. The food, a Saar cheeseburger and cream Schnitzel with fresh mushrooms and the side salad were very tasty. We liked the quick sayings and unobtrusive attention. Despite the celebration, people kept asking about our wishes. Absolute recommendation from us! Keep it up!

We stayed in Saargallerie, a branch of Zunfstube just outside the historic center... Rooms (on the attic floor) spacious and complete but dark and (early September) very warm. Mattresses mediocre and in need of replacing. The mattresses of friends who slept in other rooms were good. So apparently it is being worked on. Advantage of Saargallerie: ample parking space and yet a few hundred meters walk from the cozy and beautiful center We also had dinner at Restaurant Zunfsube in the center. Unexpectedly good with quick and friendly service.

Kann ich nur empfehlen. Ich war mit meinem Hund da. Ich wurde sehr nett darauf hingewiesen, was ich mit ihm beachten muss, damit die Hygieneregeln eingehalten werden. Das habe ich gemacht und das Personal hat sich um mich, aber auch meinen Hund sehr gut gekümmert. Das habe ich in anderen Restaurants schon ganz anders erlebt. Zudem war das Essen sehr lecker. Alles top.

Hier stimmt einfach alles! Lage, Service , Angebot und geschmacklich in der Region nicht zu übertreffen ! Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich! Im Sommer sitzt man wunderschön direkt am Wasserfall 🥰 Das Angebot an Speisen ist sehr breit gefächert, sodass für jeden etwas dabei ist. Frischer regionaler Fisch, Fleisch, Pasta , Salate … und jeder der Gerichte ist geschmacklich perfekt ! Der Koch weiß, was er tut. Die Mitarbeiter im Service sind immer freundlich, schnell, sehr zuvorkommend aber nicht aufdringlich ! Alles in allem fühlt man sich hier einfach wohl !

Schade, waren schon mehrere Male da und sind nie enttäuscht worden. Heute versucht für 1 Woche später für 5 Personen zu resrevieren. Am Telefon sehr unfreundlich abgespeist worden, dass man viele Reservierungen hat und für Touristen keine Reservierung mehr vornimmt. Wusste gar nicht, dass man als regionaler Gast mit mehreren Besuchen, als Tourist eingestuft wird. Muss aber sagen, dass ich aufgrund solch einer Arroganz, trotz der vielen Besuche vorher, kein Interesse mehr habe hier zu speisen. Schade, dass eine Erfolgsstory einem so zu Kopfe steigen kann. Ein bisschen mehr Demut wäre angebracht.

Auf der Suche nach einem leckeren Mittagessen fiel uns das Angebot "Lamm mit Rosmarinkartoffeln" ins Auge. Eine super Wahl. Das Essen war ein Genuss, hervorragend zubereitet, Kapern beim Lamm, coole Idee. Dank dem Koch. Das Ganze in einem gediegenen, gut bürgerlichen Ambiente, mit einem unaufdringlichen, aber aufmerksamen Service. Positive "old school". Preislich korrekt.

While looking for a delicious lunch, the “Lamb with Rosemary Potatoes” option caught our eye. A great choice. The food was a delight, excellently prepared, capers with the lamb, cool idea. Thanks to the chef. The whole thing in a dignified, middle-class atmosphere, with unobtrusive but attentive service. Positive “old school”. Priced correctly.

A Pinsa was advertised. This also came very quickly. As we discovered, it wasn't very warm inside. When we spoke to the waitress, they said that we should have called in so that it would have been warmed up again. I can also make frozen pizza at home and I don't have to spend a lot of money. We can only advise against it.

In the middle of the town and not far away private parking

We were in Saarburg for the first time in October 2019 and were also guests of the Zunftstube and were there as two couples. We (my husband & I) immediately liked the place and the restaurant/hotel Zunftstube also exceeded our expectations. Since then we have been to Saarburg once in 2021, once in 2022, twice in 2023 and twice in 2024 and visited the guild hall for lunch and dinner. Since Tuesday is the day of rest for the guild hall, this is the only day where we unfortunately have to eat somewhere else and in the first week of October 2024 we had a fasting evening in the evening because some restaurants were closed and we didn't want to have dinner . The Zunftstube is a family business where father & son work together. The service is more than good, it's top notch. The other waiters and waitresses, and not forgetting the person responsible for the drinks at the drinks bar, are always nice and friendly. The food, be it pasta, meat, fish or salad, is always a very generous portion and the quality of the food is top!!! For example, the pepper rum steak or the pepper rum fillet is simply amazing when it comes to meat. Fried to perfection, simply top!!! (My husband misses your delicious Cordon Bleu, maybe it should be back on your menu.) The prices are reasonable and we are happy to pay a little more for this quality and service. Unfortunately, the quality and quantity of portions and service can no longer be found in all restaurants today. The rooms (2019 - rooms 1 + 2) (2021 - rooms 9) were / are very good and nice, all three rooms with a view of the Leuk, room 9 the view is even more beautiful because it is under the roof. We will be guests of Saarburg and the Zunftstube again in 2025 and we are already looking forward to it. Many thanks to the entire Zunftstuben team for a great Saarburg week (September 29th - October 6th) and keep up the great work. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and can really recommend it. Parking is easily accessible on foot. The food is very good, the wines too. The staff is very friendly, we felt very comfortable.

Sehr leckeres Essen, 1a Service und ansprechendes Interieur. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist sehr gut, denn die Preise sind nur leicht gehoben, Qualität, Service, Ambiente und die Art, wie das Essen angerichtet ist, sind aber eindeutig gehoben. Und dennoch fühlt man sich einfach wohl und heimelig. Bitte unbedingt reservieren.

Warning: tourist trap! The location is really very nice! You can also eat very well in the guild room. But probably because I was traveling alone, I felt like I got the converted storage room. Even for one person it was oppressively narrow, the shower was built into wall units, the furnishings were old and rustically simple, and the view from the windows of the room and toilet ended 1.5 m further on a house wall. To the right and left only further house walls and distant roofs could be seen. The attraction of the house - the quiet Leuk and the rugged waterfall - had to be seen on a postcard. And I paid EUR 220 for two nights! Parking space for my car? None. I rented an underground car park 15 minutes away on foot. Service? Kindness is different. Even the cancellation of breakfast was acknowledged with a growl and ignored on the bill. In the stairwell of the "hotel" (there is no elevator) there was a stale smell of fried beef and urine. To be honest: I just wanted to get away - back to civilization.

The food is served quickly, well seasoned, and the price is good.

We went there to have lunch. We had a snitzel which was really nice. However the trout from the local river didn't feel authentic. Also it came with four slices of potatoes which was not enough as an accompaniment. I would have liked a little bit more side to go with the main meal. Also the service was less then I expected for an establishment like this. And the price was quite High too.

We sat outside in the best weather, which is a good start. We were kindly assigned a table. Radler alcohol-free isn't on the menu, but they still have it. Food arrives promptly under one hood. Price performance is okay.

I was a guest for a week and immediately fell in love with the place! I can only warmly recommend the resto/hotel and will definitely come back! I felt very comfortable from the first moment and was/am absolutely thrilled by the service, the food, the atmosphere and the enormous and loving attention! I will definitely come back!! The bed was like a hammock for me. The paid parking lot is 300m away. However, the breakfast was very good.

The service is only concerned about sales and will give you a message if you just want to have a drink and a main course. An old couple who just wanted something to drink were sent away. Prices are excessive for the quality and size of the food.

Restaurant only: Never in my life have I ever been spoken AT in a more rude way! Food looked average. Will never spend a eurocent there. Neighbours much friendlier and food there is great.

Wow what a great restaurant! My friend and I had a delicious meal here, the entire terrace and restaurant was full, but within a few minutes we had our starter and main course. Delicious and good quality. Everything was also super clean. Because of the toilets, this restaurant gets 10 plus points from me, because the feminine toilet products have been taken into account. The staff makes me feel warm and welcome and I could go on and on. The restaurant does have a break from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, but when we sat down a little earlier, the man asked us if we wanted something to drink and very thoughtfully asked if we could wait a little longer before eating. But of course. And we enjoyed it so much. Once again this restaurant is a must!

We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a seat. The staff was very attentive and friendly and nice. We can highly recommend the hamburger and I had a pizza. It was topped with fresh mushrooms. It was also very tasty. The prices were good OK too. We would come back there at any time.

The restaurant is in a very nice spot, the food is very good and tasty. The wine was very well selected by the service staff. The crowning glory was the espresso from a portafilter machine!!! We will definitely come back.

Unfortunately I have to change my positive rating. I came to Saarburg after a long motorcycle tour. I met acquaintances there. We wanted to sit down somewhere together and since I was very hungry, I suggested the guild room. My friends had already eaten and wanted wine. A table was organized for us, thank you for that, but only for that. When it became clear when ordering that only I wanted to eat, the order was rejected. Either everyone eats it or no one eats it. What's that supposed to mean? If I had come all alone, I wouldn't have been served?! I believe (and hope!!) not. This is how you scare away loyal customers who have enjoyed staying with you for years. I had the pleasure of visiting the Zunftstube again after 10 years and I was not disappointed. The food was excellent - the cream sauce with fresh mushrooms was a real treat. The service was incredibly attentive and friendly. Even though they didn't have spaghetti ice cream, they whipped up some for me. The view of the waterfall and the delightful staff make the Zunftstube a unique experience. I can only warmly recommend the Zunftstube – a place that has lost none of its charm even after all these years!

Das Essen war sehr gut, allerdings waren die Portionen sehr klein und die Käseplatte bestand nur aus einer Sorte. Preis/Leistung ist nicht ganz passend. Der Service war gut und das Ambiente top.

Stayed for 2 nights, small room with a beautiful view over the pleasant square with terraces, just above the waterfall (not visible). Upon arrival on Monday around 3 p.m., we had to wait to check in until the owner had finished eating. We then received a key, we did not have to register because 'everything was already known through the booking' and the owner was gone. The room had good beds, neat interior. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the shower to work beyond a trickle. Before the hot water came, at least 10 minutes had passed. The next day we tried to ask the owner/staff for clarification, but no one was there, the entire hotel was closed on Tuesday. Even when we departed at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, there was no one to check out, with the exception of a man who cleaned the kitchen and who did not speak German, English or French, and who gestured that he did not want to receive the key. Because no one was there, I left the key and left.

Wir waren eher zufällig in Saarburg gelandet. Rund um das kleine Flüsschen gibt es etliche Restaurants, alles wirkt doch sehr touristisch. Darunter leidet dann oft die Qualität der Restaurants. Daher waren wir positiv überrascht, als uns in der Zunftstube ein Topessen serviert wurde. Es war recht warm, und daher haben wir uns für leichten Fisch entschieden, konkret für Forelle Müllerin. Und die war wirklich perfekt zubereitet. Aussen kross und innen zart und saftig und ganz frisch. Der kleine Salat vorneweg war auch sehr frisch und das Dressing gut abgeschmeckt. Auch das Gemüse als Beilage war gut. Von der Bedienung her hat ebenfalls alles gepasst. Abschliessend ist noch anzumerken, dass das Restaurant eine besonders tolle Lage hat . Wir hatten einen Platz direkt am Wasser, richtig idyllisch. Falls wir nochmal in der Nähe sind, wir kommen definitiv wieder. Und bestellen wieder Forelle.

We had booked the garage to store 4 large motorcycles (garage is outside the center, about 400m from the hotel). Upon arrival, they showed us (from the hotel) where we could park the motorcycles. We could barely fit three motorcycles in the garage (with putting all kinds of junk aside). When we mentioned this at the hotel, it turned out that we were in fact not allowed to use the garage because there was not enough space. The intention was that our motorcycles would be left unattended in a hotel parking lot, the parking lot located next to the garage. The room was not clean. No, this is definitely not recommended for bikers! The service during the meal and the food was okay.

I ate here with family and friends; One family member is vegetarian, after a change to the menu, which we didn't notice, there were even fewer vegetarian dishes than expected; When asked whether 2 eggs and fried potatoes were possible for the person because the vegetarian food selection is limited (>90% main dishes contain meat), the corpulent woman who worked as a waitress became very defensive; “There are a lot of vegetarian dishes on the menu,” she said, telling us dishes that were partly not even vegetarian (for the waitress: vegetarian ≠ pescatarian). In addition, it was loudly mentioned again and again that there were plenty of dishes for vegetarians, so we had to justify why we thought there were few vegetarian dishes (reminder: >90% of the main courses contain meat / fish); I'm here to have a relaxed meal with my family, not to argue with a woman who wants to loudly explain to us that there are so many vegetarian dishes, even though she obviously doesn't even know what vegetarian means... Well, back to the two fried eggs: At some point the good lady came back to loudly inform us that eggs are usually not prepared for guests (the whole thing in a tone that the whole restaurant notices, discreetly is different), but that they are prepared for your vegetarian guest would make a great exception and do the difficult act of putting two eggs in a pan. Wow! This now raises the question for me: Why would you make such a big deal out of two eggs if the whole thing isn't a problem? I'm pretty sure the rest of the restaurant didn't care what my family member would like to eat. About my meal: My steak was fine. Mediocre and expensive for what it was. For a good steak, it's better to go to Terra in Luxembourg City and get 350g of Argentine steak for 50 cents less than the shop here. You don't argue with the waitress because 2 eggs in the pan is such an incredible achievement and there are tons of vegetarian dishes. Because of the charming service, you could no longer talk about enjoying it. I have never experienced people having to justify facts. The vegetarian selection is small and that's just a fact - reacting so personally under attack is a catastrophe. Incidentally, the woman was only called corpulent so that the owner could identify the good lady and, in the best case, to inform her that from a business perspective it is not a good idea to discuss things with customers if you want them to come back.

Ladies and Gentlemen I would like to express my dissatisfaction with a recent visit to your restaurant. After a break of about two years, I visited the Zunftstube again and found that the menu for vegetarians had changed negatively. When I asked if I could order two fried eggs with fried potatoes and a small salad, I initially didn't receive a direct answer. Instead, another employee, who was presumably the service manager, explained to me in a ten-minute conversation that such special requests are usually not fulfilled. This discussion was extremely unsatisfactory for me. Instead of simply saying that it was possible to put two eggs in the pan, it was explained to me why this was an exclusive exception. As a customer, I felt forced to justify my request, which I find very negative in retrospect. I work in sales and customer service myself and know how important it is to treat customer requests flexibly and friendly. Such behavior would probably have led to unemployment in my industry. Unfortunately, you lost at least one customer that evening.

Very good food. You pay for the location, but the employees are friendly and the waiting times are short.

We had a vacation in Saarburg at the Hotel Zunftstube from May 18th. booked until May 23rd, 2024. As early as May 17, 2024, it was communicated through the media that travel to the region was not recommended due to the heavy rain and flooding. On Saturday morning we called the hotel and asked about the situation there. The hotel said that the hotel was open. Sandbags were installed overnight. When we replied that a holiday on site was not possible under these circumstances, we were informed that the booking would not be canceled by the hotel. We asked whether it would be possible to convert it into a voucher? This was rejected, with the information that the hotel was open. The fact that the place was damaged by flooding was ignored. In the end we had to pay 90% cancellation fee. This is not exactly customer friendly. So 0/5 stars. We had to put a star at the top, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to post anything. We will definitely visit this region, but the hotel probably won't. Michael Wendt

I will recommend this restaurant to anybody visiting Saarburg. It feels like a hidden gem. Right from the moment we entered with our 2 y.o., we felt so welcome. The serving staff went out of their way to accommodate us and they were amazing with our son. The food was also very good. I had an amazing chicken curry. All in all a great dining experience. Thank you!

Great restaurant! We visited with our nearly two year old son. The staff was very accommodating and super friendly. There was a perfect selection of dishes and service was very quick. I really enjoyed the food, drinks and great atmosphere.

A very cool shed And now seriously. A great restaurant in the heart of Saarburg at the waterfall. The service in the owner-managed restaurant was great and courteous, the food tasted very good (schnitzel, cream schnitzel, burgers, baked cheese). Nothing was left to be desired and the Zunftstube is an absolute recommendation
