An absolute must if you're nearby. Delicious food and Kölsch beer. I'd gladly go again.

Well, nice Veedels pub. Food so-so. Small side salad but really shockingly small and with ready-made yogurt dressing €5. Bag of mayo €0.80. (I think it's overpriced) Schnitzel is ok. OK for drinking beer, but for eating... The owner just explained that the salad dressing was apparently homemade. But it tasted like it was bought

Great heaven and Ääd + delicious Kölsch.

Quaint restaurant. Very nice service. Unfortunately the food can't keep up. Portions are big enough but not tasty. All schnitzels were dry and the sauerbraten didn't taste good either. Only for drinking at any time but no longer eating.

If I could give negative stars I would do so. Miserable to no service. We left after 10 minutes of not paying attention and were really happy about it after we saw what other people had on their plates. Very, very bad. Absolutely not recommended 👎

All in all, we had a very nice evening in good company. Really very nice service staff. The taste of the food was impeccable and the portions were as expected. Great brewery with real Cologne Vedel culture, which we were looking for and definitely found for our guests from Franconia here away from the tourist crowds. We will definitely come back again even without guests 😊

We Northern Lights followed in Missy's footsteps and visited place 2 here today. We were warmly welcomed by Cologne veteran Eddy. The Kölsch was freshly tapped on the table without being asked and of course we ate Himmel und Ääd. Mega delicious, everything expertly prepared and nothing out of the bag, that's how I rate the food as a trained chef. So if you want to experience a real, rustic pub with a veteran and real homemade food, this is the place for you. Even treats and freshly tapped water for our dog Flake (over 0.2cl) were offered as a matter of course. We are super excited. Thank you Eddy for a successful Saturday lunch. Daniela and Sven

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe ( mit Reservierung) vor Ort und ich habe noch nie einen so schlecht organisierten Betrieb gesehen. Aus unserer Gruppe habe ich mein Essen zuletzt bekommen, 1 Stunde 45 Minuten nach Bestellung. Einige von uns haben ihr Essen erst bekommen, als einige andere schon seit mehr als einer Stunde aufgegessen hatten. Der (einzige) Kellner war neu und etwas überfordert, aber wenigstens freundlich. Das Essen der anderen war soweit okay, aber wenn ich gewusst hätte, wie lange einige von uns warten mussten und dass mein eigenes Essen eher mittelmäßig war, hätte ich mir die Bestellung gespart.

Good Beer, Great for Conversations Stopped by recently and really enjoyed the beer—it was great. The service was a bit slow, but we still managed to eat and drink without any hassle. The place has a nice vibe, perfect for hanging out and chatting. It’s also a spot frequented by locals, not tourists, which adds to its authentic and relaxed atmosphere.

We were there today with the whole team. A big compliment to the waitress – she tried very hard and was extremely quick, really great service! Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing at all. I had ordered a rump steak, which really looked like something you shouldn't do to anyone. As compensation, the lovely waitress brought us dessert - that was nice, that's why I'm giving it three stars. Overall: You can go, but you don't have to.

Five of us visited this beautiful and traditional inn on the 2nd weekend of Advent. Monika provided us with all the delicacies that make the Cologne tradition beat faster. A wonderful place with nice service and delicious food and drinks. We'll definitely be back!!!!

Yesterday we had lunch at the inn with 5 people. We received a very friendly welcome and were well served by Monika. We had a very good, tasty meal in a nice atmosphere. All in all we felt really comfortable during our stay.

Unfortunately, we eat really, really badly. Meat quality poor, just gristle and fat. Sauerkraut must have been warmed up several times and dumplings were still raw inside. That's no way to win guests. And card payment is not possible on Saturday evening of all days. Too bad!

Wir waren heute mit 5 Personen dort. Die Atmosphäre ist Klasse, es liegen alte, uralte Karnevalslieder im Hintergrund, dss Kellnerpersonal ist sehr nett. Allerdings leider ist die Leistung der Küche nicht so toll. Wir hatten 2x das Haxenfleisch mit Sauerkraut, dazu Pommmes. Die Pommes waren lecker, das Haxenfleisch bei beiden nur Knorpel und Sehnen. Wir hatten einen Hund dabei, der hat sich gefreut . Einer hatte ein Schnitzel, war ok, der Hirschgulasch mit Klössen ( Klösse waren nicht durch) war ok. . Also wegen dem Essen muss man dort nicht hin. Beim nächsten Mal würde ich nur Currywurst Pommes nehmen, da kann man nicht so viel falsch machen

Der Kellner war sichtlich überfordert, obwohl das Lokal nicht übermäßig stark besucht war. Wir hatten für 8 Personen Essen bestellt. Der Erste war bereits fertig, bevor das zweite Essen auf den Tisch kam. Und so zog es sich bei allen 8 Essen hin.

We spontaneously went to the brewery this evening and felt really comfortable straight away. The ambience is rustic and authentic, as you would expect. We found it particularly nice that the waitresses were always open and friendly (despite the fact that the store was really busy). We had the veggie currywurst and a Halver Hahn, can recommend both. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Kölsch, terribly loud, Röggelchen from half a rooster (on Sunday evening) thawed, cheese and cucumber was missing, mustard upon request, service friendly.

We love the Spitz inn. Visited by chance for the first time at Carnival and went there today for dinner and got delicious Belgian-style mussels. The employees are super nice, always open to having fun. The warmth is unsurpassable. Cologne music and food in a rustic Cologne atmosphere. It couldn't be better!

We were in the Gasthaus Spitz for the third time today and it was great as always! The service, especially from lovely Eddy, was outstanding. We also ate something on site: Mettbrötchen, goulash soup, beef broth and Leberkäse with fried potatoes, everything was very tasty and the price/performance ratio was really great! We'll definitely be back! :-)

A boy from Cologne who has moved abroad, for the first time with Eddi and very enthusiastic. A unique, simply beautiful Kölsch! The mussels were excellent, I'll be back!

Good beers and good food, our waitress had only been working there for 2 days but was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately not a good experience. Vegetarian was ordered, meat was delivered, but unfortunately the waiter was completely unreasonable. The salad we ordered didn't come, but it was on the bill and the waiter insisted that he had delivered a salad. There wasn't even the will to ask in the kitchen. At least the salad that was not delivered was removed from the bill after a long discussion. Addendum to the restaurant's answer: after deleting the salad, the bill came to €70.60, we were supposed to pay €70, a small gesture of goodwill, but not 15%. It's not true that there was a round of Kölsch on the house.

I enjoyed an unusually delicious schnitzel with a friend and drank a wonderfully delicious Kölsch. The 2 boys who served us rounded off the visit perfectly, absolutely awesome!

We were there twice. The first time half the food was cold and we always waited forever for the Kölsch. Now, after 90 minutes of waiting, we were told that our order had not arrived in the kitchen. 2 Kölsch at the same time. I recommend visiting the other breweries in the area that have at least some experience in terms of service

Been there for the first and last time today. The number of visitors is manageable, everything inside is empty, half of it is free outside. I ordered spit roast with fried potatoes and a side salad, after an hour only the fried potatoes arrived. When the spit roast and salad still hadn't arrived 10 minutes later and my three companions had almost finished eating, I asked the waitress where the spit roast and salad were, after all, you don't want the fried potatoes cold and eaten with the rest of the food eat. Waitress disappeared, came back 4 minutes later, said the cook had mixed something up and if I still wanted the food I would have to wait a long time, but they could bring me a spit roast roll in 5 minutes. This wasn't really tasty, meat was more than dry, sauce on meat and spit roast was indefinable. Let over half go back again. Then another waiter came and asked about the problem, which we explained to him, but he then made a mistake in his tone and choice of words. This can also scare away guests. He should just be aware that he is dependent on the guests and not the other way around because as a guest I can also spend my money elsewhere, which I will do in the future.

So the food was very poor. Waited over an hour before we got it. The meat is way too dry. I got potatoes instead of rice and it was just ready-made sauce. My daughter ordered skewers roast with fried potatoes and a side salad. She only got the fried potatoes and later a spit roast roll which was inedible. Simply impossible and not recommended.

The operators have taken the lead here over the last 20 years. Why actually? The Spitz is actually very cozy, especially inside, and doesn't have to hide from other inns. For a few years now, we've had solid brewery cuisine (again) that's of decent quality. The only thing I'm not particularly keen on at the moment is the pricing, as the Spitz unfortunately follows the general trend. The service is mostly quick and friendly, there is nothing to complain about. Overall, a solid, home-style alternative in Veedel. Four stars.

Addendum to the owner's answer: We were very happy on Thursday, August 25th. In their inn! The fact that the young, overwhelmed waitress and her very nice older colleague cannot remember the incident, especially since I asked in the restaurant whether the bill could be corrected so that I could pay by card, only adds to the problem Crown up! Never again! First the waitress forgot the food order. When we asked, she wanted to know what we actually ordered. The restaurant was manageably busy. The food came soon, but the fried potatoes, bacon and onions were burnt, as was the breading from the schnitzel, which is why it was dry. When we wanted to pay afterwards and the waitress came with the bill, I said that I wanted to pay by card. I was then told that this wasn't possible, that I should have said this beforehand (it would have been YOUR job to ask me) and that if I didn't have enough cash, I would just have to go to the ATM. That's probably not possible! Luckily, my husband and I still had enough money with us. You definitely can't recommend this place 👎

Bad service, subpar food, double billing. Old-established pub or not, something like that doesn't work! If I don't have any capacity, simply reduce the card!

I ordered food, after more than half an hour of waiting the employee informed me that the food was not available even though it was on the menu for Thursday.

It was my first visit to the Spitz inn and definitely not the last! We were very satisfied and can only recommend it. A great Cologne inn!

My parents, who are almost 80 years old, wanted to enjoy a cozy tavern atmosphere on Monday lunchtime. Comfortable turned into threatening and insulting after it was announced that the quality was subpar (mainly greasy in the frying pan) and also cold. Eating back to the kitchen and now a schnitzel, again miserable. The boss then became abusive and the son acted like a bouncer. Paid 40 euros for 2 Kölsch and a salad. The Wirtshaus Spitz on Neusser Strasse was once a cozy Cologne institution, but today it's not even a convenience store and has a low-level boss with limited empathy for the customers and an arrogance that can no longer be improved. Absolutely not recommended.

since the group that invited probably had a small budget and couldn't really invite a total of 20 people, Everything was very spartan, the person who was the waiter was stressed, they could actually only give out glasses of water, non-alcoholic beer and 3 cappucinos upon order. Nicely meant for a funeral gathering, but also the wrong location, just a bit too rustic.

Of the 7 meals, 3 were incorrect, either something was forgotten or the side dish was wrong, and one meal was completely wrong. The managing director, a young man, wears shorts and sits behind the counter with his cell phone in his hand. There's another way. The older "Köbes" tries to be funny, but is also a bit cheeky at times, which not every paying guest can tolerate!! I don't have to leave my money there again. To the answer from Wirtshaus Spitz; I think you're playing me for a fool. “The counter man” was wearing shorts! But whatever, all the best for you and your restaurant!!

Das Essen entsprach den Erwartungen, wenn man in ein Brauhaus geht. Spargel, Kartoffeln sehr gut. Schnitzel sehr, sehr groß. Sauce Hollandaise aus der Packung in die Microwelle. Neue Kellnerin ab 19:00 Uhr. Sie muss ruhiger werden.

Brauhaus atmosphere, ideal for drinking a cool Kölsch. Unfortunately, the food was subpar, we were a group of 20 people and almost all of the dishes were almost inedible. The traditional rye roll was an old, hard wheat roll, the soup was way too peppery, and the meatball wasn't freshly prepared either. A pity!
