We were there again for lunch. We both really enjoyed the food and service. Would love to come back.

This was my second time in this location. Since it wasn't satisfactory again, I decided to leave a review. The first time I was there I took the Käsespätzle and the Obazda. The cheese spaetzle were very dry and the Obazda didn't taste like Cambert, a little bit like dishwash. I then returned the Obazda. However, I was not given an alternative or refund. I also asked about the ingredients. Some of these were mentioned to me. It was said to be a chef's variation but did not contain Cambert. The exact ingredients could not be named. Ok, unfortunately I paid the full amount and then ate elsewhere. Now I tried it again. This time I had the pea and mint soup and the sausage salad. The sausage salad was yellowish and tasted like curry sauce. It seemed as if a ready-made curry sauce, slightly refined, had been used for the dressing. Unfortunately I have allergies, so I had problems after 2 spoonfuls of the soup alone. I could only eat a little of the salad. I then asked about the ingredients of the salad. I was replied: well, just like it says on the card. I then replied that I wasn't interested in the ingredients themselves, but in the ingredients of the dressing. He doesn't know this, but he would find out more in the kitchen. Unfortunately I didn't receive an answer. I didn't eat any more of my food and unfortunately had to pay in full. I also looked at the menu again, where no additives or anything like that were listed. So I probably wrongly assumed that there were no flavor enhancers or anything like that in the food. I ate elsewhere again. Therefore, unfortunately I have to give this rating.

We were able to enjoy a nice atmosphere, courteous service and delicious food in this beautiful square. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed the second time, TK Schnitzel🫣

We ate schnitzel with fried potatoes and mushrooms. (Mess). The fried potatoes were soggy and dark. They were definitely from the day before. We informed the waiter and passed it on to the chef. Still no reaction. No need for the next six months

Goulash with spinach dumplings was delicious 😋

The atmosphere is very nice, but unfortunately that's about it. The food was not freshly prepared but rather warm ready meals. Really a shame

The food is good, home-style. It tasted good, but wasn't the culinary highlight. It had more of the charm of a system restaurant.

We were in Barleben on business, took a detour to Magdeburg for lunch, but we've been to other places several times. New to the inn today, we had Wienerschnitzel and half chicken each with fries and salad, both were very tasty, the price was right and reasonable 😊👍, which wasn't okay at all 👆 we were both asked if we wanted ketchup or mayo, we said no... Everyone got both with ketchup and mayo 😏. But I was really annoyed later when I found out that we had each been charged €1.50 for it. Unfortunately, I didn't check it when paying and found it in the car on the way home. The food was solid and tasty, can otherwise be recommended. The waitresses were friendly.

We had received a voucher from the restaurant as a gift and therefore accepted the 45 km journey so far so good. When we wanted to pay our bill with this after the meal, the waiter told us that there was no credit on the voucher, which was impossible for me to understand because, as already mentioned, it was a gift. Since I didn't want to argue, I paid the bill using a debit card. After paying, the waiter and the boss checked the voucher for what felt like an eternity only to discover that the restaurant had made a mistake and they issued us a new one. Since the meal had already been paid for, he of course didn't bring us anything at all and instead of an apology from the boss, he preferred to hide behind his laptop and also a little something for the trouble and the circumstances were not offered. I know differently from reputable restaurants, but good for me it was the first and last visit to this restaurant. The food was okay, but the iced tea wasn't homemade either. It consisted of water and syrup, you can make it that way, but I don't go to a pub for that. The food consisted of prepared ready-made products. For me it has nothing to do with a pub. The ambience was quite appealing. Apart from the annoyance, I can't recommend the inn to anyone who really wants to have a good meal

Bavarian restaurant. Friendly staff, fresh food and a wide selection! Update: we were here again after a long time. Well, comfortable is different. The room is now so full that it has the charm of a train station restaurant. The food is ok, but not really anything special. The fried potatoes were definitely not fresh, the knuckle had been in the oven for too long and the kale was tasteless. The service was great! Very friendly and attentive. When the competition 26 opens in the city of Prague, things will be tight.

Friendly, courteous and attentive It's nice to eat a nice, crunchy pretzel by the fireplace and wash it down with a wheat beer 😊 But all other food and drinks are also recommended

We were in the inn on a Friday evening for the first, but not last, time. The lower level was packed and correspondingly loud. Upstairs, however, it was very empty. Fast service, good food and very reasonable and good prices for Magdeburg standards

This week we were guests at the inn with more than 20 people. Everything was very inviting, the staff extremely accommodating and very nice. Special requests were implemented quickly. Everyone got their food at the same time, which was really tasty and filling. There is a diverse selection, there is something for everyone. We felt very comfortable and will be back soon. Absolute recommendation.

We were here on holiday as a family and were full of expectations based on the menu, which sounded very good. The atmosphere is very tasteful, really cozy. Unfortunately, we quickly realized that it was system catering. This is reflected in the food, which is just average. Our 7 year old daughter wanted a schnitzel without fries. Since there is no children's schnitzel, we had to take the Wiener schnitzel. In my opinion, that was frozen goods that were in the deep fryer. Dear Wirtshaus: A Wiener Schnitzel has an airy breading, is golden/yellow/brown and baked in a pan in clarified butter, wafer-thin and made from fresh veal! This was far from a Wiener Schnitzel…. The highlight of the matter was that we were charged €24 for the naked schnitzel. According to the service, this cannot be changed due to the system. The espresso for me and the scoop of ice cream for our daughter were also charged, there would have been leeway to compensate for that! The service itself was modestly friendly and quick, and there's basically nothing to complain about. Since we come from Bavaria, we know the pub culture that this concept is aimed at. Unfortunately, when it comes to the food and everything around it, it is a loveless copy. There is no heart in the dishes and there is no chef behind them who lives and understands this culture. Very unfortunate…..

Schnitzel: frozen - breaded pressed meat, Fried potato: mush, pre-made, out of the bag, Fries: with fried mold on one end of a fry - without any words of apology from the staff/the boss! Something like that shouldn't happen - disgusting! Nice atmosphere, food: never again!

We actually just wanted to eat an ice cream sundae, but when we asked if it was possible we were greeted very nicely. Now we decided to stay and didn't regret it. The coffee was very good and the recommended cake was very tasty. The ice cream was forgotten, but our spirits were lifted and one look at the menu and we're sure we'll see each other again. The waitress, a nice young woman, was very, very friendly and accommodating.

Many dishes were only made warm. Too bad.

We had dinner there on January 5th, 2025. The first and last time. My wife had 2 schnitzels. They were fried. The fried potatoes warmed up as well as the mushrooms from the day before. I had goulash. Taste wise okay. The meat was tender but had a rubbery consistency. The salad was a ready-made salad. The dumplings were okay. For that kind of money, that's a disgrace. It's a shame because the atmosphere is nice.

I ordered the vegan schnitzel with fries for €19.90. What I got was a disgrace. A loveless plate with two ready-made Rügenwalder Mühle schnitzels, plus some fries. That wasn't worth €19.90. The friendly staff was positive.

WooooW We made reservations for 9 people, and spontaneously at the last minute we reserved 2 more people and everything went perfectly. The decor is so beautiful and cozy, we all felt really comfortable 🤗 11 different dishes and everyone was happy. Where we sat, the floor was dirty. There was lipstick from the previous lady on the drink glass. Messy plate, cold canned mushrooms. Sauce was already stiff when served. Coca-Cola was uncarbonated in 4 out of 5 glasses. And then these prices for €25.90 Wiener Schnitzel with fries and mayonnaise or ketchup That thing is so dry. Sry but it's better if you find a better chef or restaurant manager!

You can eat hearty food here in a rustic atmosphere. My snack was great, the warm main courses of my companions were a bit weak, some of them were reheated and weren't as tasty. But overall you can spend a great sociable evening there

The food was way too expensive for the money Ready-made “pork schnitzel” and it was chicken schnitzel that I got instead of pork schnitzel and the fried potatoes that I didn’t make were way too dry.. and some of them weren’t even al dente.. what a shame

An absolutely amazing experience! The food was delicious with incredible flavors. The meat in particular was a dream - tender, juicy and so soft that it could be easily cut with a fork. The service was also first class - friendly, attentive and professional. I can highly recommend the wild boar ragout!

Catastrophic! I couldn't believe the reviews and ordered "Jäger's Pig" anyway. If you're "lucky" you'll get the food after 5 minutes. The schnitzels are made from molded meat and were prepared in the deep fryer. The sauce was mixed with powder and the mushrooms were not fresh. The fried potatoes also had to suffer during preparation and you probably only know the frying pan from the cookbook. The food was lukewarm. My colleague's schnitzel wasn't cooked through. There was a cocktail tomato on my plate, but it was FRESH! The service is no better than the food. We had to place drink orders three times. The staff stumbled from table to table in a plan and disorientation to unite guest and food. The relationship between price and performance doesn't fit at all.

Unfortunately, the quality ingredients used here are not commensurate with the price I ate schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and fried potatoes - the mushrooms were canned and the fried potatoes were carelessly warmed up in cheap oil. On December 7th, 2024 I was a guest with friends. We were really looking forward to the meal, as the online menu was very appealing and tasty. We were warmly greeted and shown to our reserved table. The atmosphere was very appealing. But then the disillusionment came. A very long wait for the drinks and when the food came, so did the disillusionment. The starter soup was served at the same time as the main course, which is not possible. Loveless and tasteless and cold. Yes, really great food and then the prices, the guest probably doesn't count for anything here. Then we had the unique view of the kitchen and if I had seen it sooner, we probably wouldn't have ordered anything to eat there. The microwave was in constant stress, the employees slapped the food onto the plate with their bare hands (no gloves or similar). First a handful of fries were thrown on it, then immediately afterwards the knuckle and it went on like that the whole evening. Simply unsavory and disgusting. Our grandson ordered rice pudding, which we simply couldn't eat. Probably from a tetra pack, it had nothing to do with rice pudding, it just tasted like chemicals and water. I can only advise against going out to eat there. You definitely won't see us there again.

Good morning, I was here yesterday with two colleagues and unfortunately I have to say it was a failure from the service to the food. System catering poorly implemented.

We were there for breakfast and absolutely loved it. The Magdeburger Stulle was super tasty. Very friendly service & an incredibly great atmosphere. We'd love to come back. 😊

Just a shame. The inn was simply overcrowded on the Saturday before the 2nd Advent and in bad weather. At some point the waitress came and took our order. The two soup starters came before the drinks. 😐. Then nothing happened for a long time. When the food came, it was only lukewarm. But since we had already waited so long and there was no service to be seen, we accepted it. It's a shame because it tasted good. The service was simply overwhelmed and there were too few staff.

The ambience is great, but the overall impression was greatly diminished by the food. We were there with 4 people who were looking forward to the schnitzel. The service was always quick, be it for drinks or food, but the schnitzel did not meet our expectations. All the schnitzels looked the same and everyone had the unanimous impression that they were deep-fried frozen foods. The portion was sufficient, the fried potatoes had a poor taste, the sauce was okay and only the champions were good. We felt that around 30 euros for a large draft beer, a small draft beer and this meal was overpriced. I can't say anything about other dishes.

We were shown to the table but had to wait a long time for someone from service to come. Unfortunately, it was only then that we were informed that there was no children's menu. Our request to simply make a smaller portion was rejected. But we could order a “normal” dish and have the rest packed. It's a shame that you're so inflexible. 2 children's drinks on the menu wouldn't hurt anyone.

Location good, service good, food a disappointment. .....so now everyone recognizes a good schnitzel. This felt TK! 4 people, all the same dish and all the schnitzels were almost identical. 🙈 The look of the dish was also adapted to the taste. But hey, everything served in 15 minutes......😅

Food was at the table quickly after ordering but unfortunately only lukewarm. The taste of the Magdeburger was something that didn't taste good at all. Overall, all of the food was lukewarm. Except the fries were good. There is by far a better kitchen or even the concept Think about it and get a chef who knows how to keep the food at the right temperature.

In the truest sense of the word: IT'S GOING OK..... But that was it. And no more...

We had Spätzlepfanne and Schnitzel “Jäger Style”. The spaetzle pan was quite satisfactory. I wanted to swap the schnitzels for the vegan ones. First I had to ask if there were any left and then I was told that the offer as it says on the menu is only possible with Wienerschnitzel. Although the menu clearly states: The schnitzels are available in vegan and with chicken. Then you should write it right there and just make everything possible for all dishes. Since I wanted my dish, I had to accept an extra charge, as this is otherwise not possible with vegan schnitzel. In the end it was okay to get it, but it can also be implemented better these days.

A good option for anyone who wants to eat traditional German food. They attend to you and serve you quickly. Friendly staff. The restaurant is very spacious and has a fairly large terrace.  The portion of knuckle is quite generous.

The ambience and service are excellent – ​​a really nice atmosphere to spend time in. Unfortunately I can't give full points because some of the dishes weren't served hot enough. The wild boar ragout from the winter menu was solid in taste, but not outstanding, and the creamed savoy cabbage as a side dish didn't entirely convince me. My partner chose the duck leg, which also only arrived lukewarm, but tasted quite good. Some time ago I also tried the knuckle here and I have to say that both the knuckle and the leg were a bit dry for my taste. For a tavern there would be a little bit more to complete the enjoyment.

Very good food, advance booking is advisable, the outside area is equipped with heating lamps and blankets, 1 star deduction for the noise when the restaurant is full.

I can definitely say that a piece of Bavaria can be found here in the middle of Magdeburg. Very good and nice service, extremely quick order taking and the food arrived very quickly. The quality of the food was excellent, everything tasted wonderful! Price/performance is completely okay: for two people, each starter, main course, dessert and two drinks paid €100. We'd love to come back :) keep it up☺️

The ambience of this restaurant was without a doubt the best part of our evening. The stylish furnishings and pleasant lighting created an inviting atmosphere that made you want to spend a nice evening. But unfortunately the service couldn't keep up with this positive impression. The service was simply underground. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and couldn't cope with the demands of the evening. As soon as we were seated, we were asked what to order, even though we couldn't even take a look at the menu. This continued: the waiting times between courses were long and we often felt ignored. As for the food, I was also disappointed. I ordered a tarte flambée, which unfortunately was rather mediocre - there are much better alternatives in the area. The only highlight was the beer, which tasted really good. Overall the evening was rather frustrating and I feel like it was far too expensive for what was offered. It's a shame because the ambience has potential, but the service and food leave a lot to be desired.

The shop is really nice, unfortunately the food and service are not. The food is typically German and unfortunately everything tastes very bland and bland. Unfortunately, the service is also very inattentive.

We went for dinner as a group of 15 people. The menus came quickly and the food was delicious. The prices correspond to a good price-performance ratio. We would especially like to thank Gökhan, who served us with his super friendly manner, was always ready for a joke and made the evening unforgettable for us with a spontaneous dance performance by him and our friends. Price performance seems to be written down here. Just as small as the portions that you get in front of your nose for an average of €25 once you've been served at some point. Wiener Schnitzel had no taste (probably that's why there are salt and pepper shakers at the table) The pork schnitzel with mushroom sauce was chewy and had just as much flavor as the Wiener schnitzel. The goulash was okay, but it also took a lot of getting used to with the two spinach dumplings. Especially since this portion was very manageable with 4 pieces of goulash. Afterwards we were not only €100 poorer for three main courses, a starter and three drinks, but also very disappointed. Not recommended.

Cozy, rustic... Schnitzel, unfortunately frozen goods don't make any work folding and breading fresh schnitzels... Price/performance okay but you should use more fresh goods instead of offering frozen schnitzels

We sat outside, which is just nice on beautiful Ullrichplatz. It would have been loud and stuffy inside. Nice tasteful decor. Clean toilet. Nice service. Delicious, fresh food. My son had a burger. I have a baked potato with a delicious green salad.

We dined here on a Saturday evening. We sat outside, the service was nice. However, the food was already on the table after five minutes; the schnitzels were molded meat and thickly breaded. The iced teas are definitely delicious, although exorbitantly expensive.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit. Went here for lunch and it was noticeable that during the week the place was almost empty. I had "Jäger's Mess", well, what can I say. Schnitzel was frozen and prepared in the deep fryer, the mushroom cream sauce was a ready-made product that was over-seasoned and the fried potatoes were also ready-made from a bag and also drowned in oil. This is more like canteen food and therefore completely overpriced. The atmosphere is nice, although I can imagine it being really loud when the place is full. Service was tried hard, but difficult to understand due to the language barrier. All in all, it's not really worth a stop.

Here you can sit outside very comfortably and protected from the wind. The waiters are very nice and the drinks come quickly. However, the price for a large beer is a bit more expensive at €5.80.

We spontaneously went to the Wirtshaus Magdeburg for the first time today and we'll stay that way. Frozen schnitzel, champions from a can, fried potatoes half raw and without seasoning, sauce from a bag. The waiters were totally bored but it still took forever to get served... even though it wasn't busy at all. Food and drinks totally overpriced. We won't be seen there again.

For the prices stated, only ready-made food is offered here. The potato soup is a disaster and the baked sheep's cheese doesn't deserve its name, you had to look for the vegetables.

I've been looking forward to a delicious and juicy Viennese schnitzel for a long time and so I ordered it with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the disappointment was right there... unfortunately the schnitzel didn't taste good at all (100% frozen), wasn't juicy at all & the potatoes tasted even worse. Some were soft, some were hard. There were only 2-3 cubes of bacon in total. It was really warm in the restaurant. At least the beer was tasty, but the €25 for the schnitzel was wasted money... :(
