The service was unfortunately very unmotivated; no smiles, not a word too many. We also had to wait quite a while to order, although the food arrived quickly. I had a potato with duck. The duck consisted of five tiny slices, which were unfortunately extremely dry and looked as if they had been sitting out all day, cut up. The rest was good. For the price, however, I would eat somewhere else next time.

If I recall correctly, Schnitzel is not fresh, but just warmed up. Some products are certainly smaller than expected, which makes the price not worth it. Otherwise, the food is decent enough. Service is really amazing; I don't have any criticism about it. 10/10. The atmosphere is, in my opinion, also great; there's nothing wrong with it.

We were there for the first time today. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the food wasn't very good in our opinion. The schnitzel was a pre-made frozen product for almost €20. A 0.5-liter glass of Coke cost almost €6. The fried potatoes were quite hard and had no toppings such as onions or bacon. Two fried eggs on dry potatoes with no side dish or sauce. We unfortunately won't be going back.

The first main course had to be sent back because it was already cold, as the other main courses simply didn't arrive. Extremely long wait times. We ordered a shandy, and after 25 minutes we asked when it would arrive. Then suddenly beer arrived, and the waitress said it was a shandy. But it wasn't. We then found another waiter who made it a shandy instead. We were looking forward to the evening, but we wouldn't go there again.

A classic pub with the expected hearty fare. It's great that they also offer half a pork knuckle. It's a shame that beer prices have now reached almost €6.

The food was delicious and arrived after about 10-15 minutes. The portion size was fine for me. The slices of filet were a bit thin; there could have been a bit more. And it definitely needed more sauce. There wasn't enough for the amount of mashed potatoes. Otherwise, as I said, it was delicious. The beer is also very good. The atmosphere is typical of a pub. A bit louder than elsewhere, but that's to be expected. Despite the restaurant being very busy, the staff were friendly and efficient. I would go there again.

Yesterday, I went to a restaurant with a group of friends for dinner. Everything was fine initially. We were able to order drinks quickly, and they arrived promptly. However, we had to wait quite a while to order our food. The service was very friendly and accommodating to special requests. The food arrived within a reasonable timeframe. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal. My friends commented that the schnitzel on the "Jägerschweinerei" (a type of pork dish) was noticeably frozen. I ordered the "Drei Grüne" (Three Greens), which consists of spinach and bread dumplings with a creamy mushroom sauce, fried mushrooms, and crispy onions. As I said, everything tasted good, the food was hot, and we had a good time. The rest of the evening wasn't so enjoyable, as I got food poisoning. All the symptoms started after we ate at the restaurant; I felt fine before that. I really hope it wasn't caused by the food.

When you eat out, the food should be fresh. The schnitzel was frozen, which is unacceptable in a restaurant. The fried potatoes weren't very tasty, very disappointing. I can fry frozen schnitzel at home... Everything should be freshly prepared in a restaurant. Our drinks were forgotten... by one person... and only arrived after about 25 minutes. Conclusion: I won't be going back.

This place desperately needs a chef. I ordered the "Wirtshauspfanne" (tavern pan) consisting of: black pudding, half a pork knuckle, pork medallion, sauerkraut, and bacon hash browns. The pork medallion had clearly seen better days. While it's already hard to imagine a piece of tenderloin turning into a brick with virtually no moisture, the fact that the pork knuckle was as dry as the Goby Desert under the crackling is an outrage. The black pudding was simply butchered into a cracker. The sauerkraut had the consistency of jelly and hardly any texture. The highlight was the Kaiserschmarren, a simple dessert for me, which they tried to make even simpler with "Convinced Products." And they did so at an exorbitant price. All in all, this place doesn't deserve the name "restaurant" in any way. Just because something looks fancy (and it does) doesn't mean you can ruin everything with inferior quality and even worse cooking. This is cheating the customer. ' ... The fact that some people here are praising the food shows how much the culinary culture in Germany has deteriorated.

I've rarely eaten so well as I did there. I went without any expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. Delicious German home cooking and tasty beer. The ambiance is also very nice, a blend of classic and modern. I'm surprised by the "bad" rating of less than 4 stars, as I can't confirm that at all. So, in short, I highly recommend it if you're visiting Magdeburg.

It's a shame... we've been here several times, and somehow the friendliness is getting worse. I ordered kale with Bregenwurst, what did I get? Bockwurst... when I asked about it, they said they were out of Bregenwurst. Hmmm... I wish I'd known beforehand and felt like I'd been made a fool of. I won't be back.

I had "Heaven and Earth"; it was tasty and hot. The braised onions were poorly replaced with fried onions from a packet. The knuckles were apparently only lukewarm. The service was attentive, but it wasn't very busy.

The service was good and friendly. The only thing fresh was the salad. The rest of the food was pre-fab. Mushrooms out of the can. Schnitzel not home made. Therefore only one star for the food.

Unfortunately, despite the prices, the portions are quite small and not really filling. The drinks are quite expensive (0.5L beer/cola around €6). After the restaurant visit, I unfortunately needed a kebab to really feel full.

We wanted to try something new and visited the restaurant on January 6th. Making a reservation online was straightforward and worked out really well. However, the process was the first disappointment of the evening. If I make a reservation for 8 people, a table with 7 seats just won't fit. The waiter noticed this pretty quickly and asked us to choose another table. In such a case, I expect a suitable table to be suggested. As a guest, I don't even know which tables might be reserved. We then went upstairs, where Timo greeted us and quickly arranged a few tables so we could take our seats. At this point, I should note that Timo was the only bright spot of the evening and is not the reason for this review. The initial order and the serving of drinks and food were within a normal timeframe. One of the dishes arrived a few minutes late, which wasn't great. The beer could have been cooler; this was borderline (at least for the bottled beer). The food tastes good, but the portion sizes are manageable. You definitely need to work on that, otherwise it will be a sticking point. Anyone who is more than moderately hungry will leave the table dissatisfied. Or they'll order another dish, which can then lead to the next problem, as it did for us. Reordering was already difficult because it requires someone from the rare service staff who can also take an order. When we overcame this hurdle to reorder a tarte flambée and a portion of fries, we waited over an hour (!!!). That's simply not enough, especially since these are dishes that can be prepared in a matter of minutes. A few words about fries. There's no children's menu, so the fries are likely to be a hit with children. It's pretty cheeky that they're charging €6.90 (actually €7.30 - more on that in a moment) for a portion with ketchup and mayo. These are probably the most expensive fries in town - perhaps that's the claim. And, as with the rest of the dishes, we're talking about a manageable amount, not a well-filled plate. And as if the price wasn't already steep, they charge even more for ketchup and mayo than the menu states. The already hefty €1 (each, of course) then becomes €1.20 on the bill. It's not about the 20-cent difference; it's a no-go for me because it destroys my trust as a guest. Especially in restaurants, many people don't usually check the bill (they often don't even ask for it), so it's all the more important that I can rely on what's on the menu. So, with this item, which has certainly been ordered quite frequently since you opened, you've cheated all your previous customers. One can only hope that this was changed immediately in the cash register system. The menu prices on the website are also completely forgettable, as they are significantly lower than the actual prices on site, where in many cases they are 20-30% higher. What also bothered us massively, and which has already been mentioned in other reviews, was the music being much too loud. While the volume was fine at first, it got louder and louder over the course of the evening. It was impossible to have a proper conversation at the table. Unfortunately, a request to lower the volume was ignored. For me, that says a lot about the appreciation of the guests. All in all, the evening was unfortunately disappointing, so I wouldn't recommend it.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We brought our dog with us, and he was immediately warmly welcomed and water was brought to our table for him. Unfortunately, the staff were a bit inattentive for the rest of the evening, but otherwise very friendly.

We visited the inn on September 20, 2025, as part of our annual seminar group meeting. The staff and the owner were very friendly and attentive. The owner always had a funny joke on his lips and was never intrusive. We felt very comfortable.

A huge disappointment! The best part was the Hefeweizen beer. I ordered a Wiener schnitzel made from veal with fried potatoes. The schnitzel was completely fried and practically inedible; it smelled of old frying oil. The potatoes weren't much better—they looked like leftovers. I stopped eating after ten bites. The staff showed no interest, took the almost-full plate away without a word, and didn't respond to my criticism when I paid. Very disappointing! Don't eat here, folks!

We should have checked the reviews before visiting the restaurant! Otherwise, we wouldn't have gone! There were two of us and we were assigned a table. But that was it. We waited 20 minutes for a menu. But after 20 minutes, no one brought us a menu – we had to get one ourselves. No one came to take our order either. After half an hour, we tried to call a server to place our order. It wasn't easy at all! We noticed that other guests who arrived later even had drinks. Well, we finally got a server and were able to place our order. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our drinks, which quickly ran out because we were thirsty. It was a real hassle to place another drink order. We waited another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Whoosh, the glasses were empty again. The food arrived after a 1.5-hour wait (after ordering). We wanted something else to drink, but our glasses remained empty. The last drink order took 30 minutes. For dinner, my husband had a pork knuckle with sauerkraut, and I had two small pork schnitzels with mushroom sauce. The schnitzels weren't tasty. They were frozen schnitzels. The sauce was already cold and thick, with a skin already forming on the skin. The fried potatoes were extremely soft and oily. My husband's pork knuckle was okay, but unseasoned and cold. The prices are truly outrageous, as some of them are convenience foods. I was so looking forward to the inn and the traditional German cuisine and was disappointed! The food reminded me of cafeteria or swimming pool food. And the prices are truly outrageous! We were there for almost 3 hours. 3 hours would have been okay if we hadn't been constantly left with nothing. My husband actually wanted a sweet dessert for dessert, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. We then went to McDonald's and had ice cream. The mango iced tea was delicious. If I'd known the wait would be forever, I would have ordered four iced teas right from the start. The restrooms were truly disgusting. Two of them were truly disgusting, and the third was barely usable. I had to disinfect them all the way around. A woman came in after me, also shook her head and left immediately. I loved the atmosphere. But what good is a great atmosphere if everything else is lacking.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the negative reviews. We also ate there on February 14, 2025. The atmosphere is great, and we had great seats. The only positive thing I can say is the beer. The food is very, very weak. We had two schnitzels with fried potatoes and mushrooms and wild boar ragout. The food arrived just 5 minutes after ordering, and I was already thinking, and I was right. The schnitzels were some kind of frozen food, the kind you can buy in a bun at a gas station and it tastes better. Some of the mushrooms were from a can. Fried potatoes had no flavor at all, no onions, and no bacon bits... The wild boar ragout (although I highly doubt it was wild boar) was a joke. And it certainly wasn't a ragout, more like goulash. A few pieces thrown onto a plate full of spaetzle with some cabbage in between. Stuffed pear was half a pear with a few cranberries slapped on top, nothing more. So anyone who praises this dish has obviously never really eaten well. What a shame about this beautiful location. I'm not a complainer, because I love food and will eat absolutely anything... but if I have to complain, it was really bad.

The location is really nice. If you're just looking for a nice place for a drink, it's really good. It's better not to read the menu. We were a group of men and everyone ate something different. Unfortunately, everything was very, very dry. I had goulash, which I think was heated up in the microwave along with the dumplings. The meat was very, very dry. Another had the chicken, which was also very dry. One burger was missing the sauce, which was also dry. We didn't have the Hace, maybe it was a top secret insider tip. I wouldn't eat there again.

An all-around perfect restaurant visit! The food was incredibly delicious. We were particularly impressed by how attentively and professionally our intolerances and allergies were addressed. Great atmosphere, but bad food and not particularly good service. We had Grandma's cheese spaetzle and fried potatoes with a fried egg. The spaetzle were okay, but the fried potatoes were fried without onions or bacon. The potatoes hadn't been seasoned either. A real shame... As for the Coke we ordered, I'm not sure if they even serve Coke. It tasted like Pepsi or Coke from a syrup vending machine. Unfortunately, we had to eat separately because all the fried potatoes ended up on the floor and had to be recooked. Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Price/performance: Rather poor, and therefore not a recommendation!

The service was super friendly; they did bring the wrong Maultaschen (hence one deduction), but otherwise it was really nice. The ambiance and location are great, of course, but it's all the worse that the food is really nothing special. I wouldn't go there again. The Maultaschen weren't good, just convenience food. My pork schnitzel was juicy but not seasoned. The hunter's sauce was okay, but for some reason the mushrooms were on top of the fried potatoes. The potatoes were crispy but neither salted nor bacon on them. The presentation was really not very nice; you can get the same quality at a snack bar for better prices. It's a real shame; honest German cuisine could be so easy...

We were in the pub yesterday. The drinks were very tasty and there was something for everyone. For dinner we had the knuckle of pork which was very dry and tasteless, and the fried potatoes were impossible to eat, totally bland and tasteless... I thought the pub was hearty, so there should be onions and bacon on it. The roast beef was really tough and full of tendons and fried to death, so that when you chewed it it was like the sole of a shoe. And for 26 euros I think you can expect something... We've been there once, but we don't need to go again.

The inn has a lovely, hospitable atmosphere. The restaurant has a terrace or beer garden. The menu is very extensive in Bavarian/Austrian style and includes lots of fun dishes like the “Magdeburger” burger or the “Kikiriki” chicken. However, the menus could do with replacing them as they are very worn and dirty. The service is friendly but not the fastest and seems disorganized. First, no one comes at all and then after you have ordered, more waiters come and ask if you have already ordered. The drinks were served quickly and were good. The wait for the food was reasonable. Unfortunately, both of the dishes we ordered were only lukewarm when they were served and tasted okay but nothing more.

What a mess. First it takes a long time for the waiter to come by while it is quite quiet. After a signal that we wanted to order we ordered two beers. Then we hear nothing while everything and everyone around us is helped quickly. After 20 minutes we go inside and ask. It turns out that the beers are sold out and they don't have these anymore. Nothing said to us further, big fat 1.

Takes so incredibly long, for literally 2 beers. I want to go lame, that's not going to work. Eventually after 20 minutes it turns out that they no longer have the beer we ordered, but they didn't report this back to us. Unbelievably bad service here

Delicious food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere.

We had two drinks, plus one Bavarian burger and one meatball. I was very pleased that the menu included white sausages from Vinzenzmurr—in my opinion, Vinzenzmurr makes the best white sausages. The food was delicious, the portions huge, but I prefer a regular plate to the wooden platter for the burger. The wooden platter was very special, but personally, especially with the printed paper, it reminded me more of an American diner than a pub—just not my taste. The prices are reasonable; it wasn't cheap, but not too expensive either—the value for money during our visit was good. The ambiance was great, it was beautifully decorated, and the service was excellent. The only drawback: for a pub, the roast pork and dumplings were missing as one dish :/ All in all, it was great. If we're ever in Magdeburg and fancy a pub or a white sausage breakfast, we'll be happy to come back.

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch and were delighted. The food was truly delicious and the prices were reasonable. We were able to sit outside and relax and will definitely return – whenever we're in Magdeburg again.

At first, I was skeptical because the prices are quite high. But the overall concept is convincing. Perfect for larger groups. Interesting food, good beer. Even the non-alcoholic beer tastes good.

First, the positive: sitting outside is wonderfully pleasant. The service was prompt and very friendly. Unfortunately, the food was bad. We had a knuckle of pork and two schnitzels, regular and vegan. To be clear, the schnitzels were directly from the wholesaler (you can tell by the breading; connoisseurs know what I'm talking about) and fried in the fryer due to the even browning. So, unfortunately, it was at the level of a takeaway. The vegan version was the same, except the champignon sauce was missing. When we asked, we were told that the sauce was extra for the vegan schnitzels because they were so expensive. Then the vegan version would cost over €20. Unfortunately, my knuckle of pork was so cooked that the inside, which is actually juicy, was very dry. The crust was also hard to bite into, and I still have good teeth. Yet the crust is an important part of a knuckle of pork. So, overall, it was a nice experience, but we won't be coming back. It's a shame, really; with its location and excellent food, the inn would be an insider tip.

The fried potatoes are actually just fried potatoes – no onions, bacon, or egg. Overall, a lot of things seem to be pre-prepared here – which is why the dishes are rather blandly seasoned. The waiter was already clearing the plates even though several people were still eating. In our opinion, that's completely unacceptable. Conclusion: We won't be coming here again.

It's lovely here! Plenty of space both inside and outside, and there are cozy blankets for cold evenings. The food is good; in addition to the regular menu, they also offer lunch/seasonal specials. Service is fast, and the food is beautifully presented. The portion sizes are just right.

Unfortunately, we couldn't eat here because the menu doesn't list additives, and we have intolerances. They just said they were available upon request. However, when they asked, they only provided a list of allergens, but no additives such as flavor enhancers, colorings, sulfates, etc. It took a long time to determine that none could be found. Consequently, we would have to find another restaurant.

So... anyone who says it tasted good... can't cook themselves! Anyone who eats in this restaurant...or rather, this pub, must have a love for ready-made meals! Pre-battered schnitzel from the Metro freezer, mushroom sauce made from powder, potatoes with no idea what that was! Simply awful! And all that for 19.90 a plate? Never again. This has nothing to do with pubs.

Eating frozen food is a disgrace

A classic “franchise style” pub. The food is good and tasty but nothing super special. In terms of price, everything is within normal limits. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarren was rather weak. We sat outside with 5 people and were served friendly and at a normal pace. Conclusion: It can be done well, especially in larger groups.

Conditionally, food was not warm and poorly seasoned. I communicated this to the gentleman in service, but other than, "I'm sorry," nothing more.

The food is good, home-style and tasted OK, but wasn't the culinary highlight. Nothing why I have to go there again now. We didn't like the schnitzel, I don't know why... it was OK for me. The knuckle... well, I'm not into sprayed meat with nitrite curing salt, I would have expected more for the price. Portion size is also not for those who are very hungry. It had more of a franchise chain feel to it.

This was my second time in this location. Since it wasn't satisfactory again, I decided to leave a review. The first time I was there I took the Käsespätzle and the Obazda. The cheese spaetzle were very dry and the Obazda didn't taste like Cambert, a little bit like dishwash. I then returned the Obazda. However, I was not given an alternative or refund. I also asked about the ingredients. Some of these were mentioned to me. It was said to be a chef's variation but did not contain Cambert. The exact ingredients could not be named. Ok, unfortunately I paid the full amount and then ate elsewhere. Now I tried it again. This time I had the pea and mint soup and the sausage salad. The sausage salad was yellowish and tasted like curry sauce. It seemed as if a ready-made curry sauce, slightly refined, had been used for the dressing. Unfortunately I have allergies, so I had problems after 2 spoonfuls of the soup alone. I could only eat a little of the salad. I then asked about the ingredients of the salad. I was replied: well, just like it says on the card. I then replied that I wasn't interested in the ingredients themselves, but in the ingredients of the dressing. He doesn't know this, but he would find out more in the kitchen. Unfortunately I didn't receive an answer. I didn't eat any more of my food and unfortunately had to pay in full. I also looked at the menu again, where no additives or anything like that were listed. So I probably wrongly assumed that there were no flavor enhancers or anything like that in the food. I ate elsewhere again. Therefore, unfortunately I have to give this rating.

We were able to enjoy a nice atmosphere, courteous service and delicious food in this beautiful square. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed the second time, TK Schnitzel🫣

We ate schnitzel with fried potatoes and mushrooms. (Mess). The fried potatoes were soggy and dark. They were definitely from the day before. We informed the waiter and passed it on to the chef. Still no reaction. No need for the next six months

The service was good. Price performance is fine and reasonable and the rooms are nicely furnished.

The atmosphere is very nice, but unfortunately that's about it. The food was not freshly prepared but rather warm ready meals. Really a shame

The food is good, home-style. It tasted good, but wasn't the culinary highlight. It had more of the charm of a system restaurant.

The food is so-so... lots of "Maggifix" and prepared. The staff is very friendly, but you should definitely be seen at the table more often.

It's something different Not really for gourmets but for heavy eaters.

Locally very large, therefore very loud. Food is ok but the price blows your mind. For dessert we had apple strudel, which tasted okay. The ice cream was ok but the vanilla sauce wasn't great. But it's probably a matter of taste.

Came hungry, left hungry. The ambience is good, I can't say anything about the food because we were there for about 1 1/2 hours and couldn't order food. The employee was more busy entertaining and billing other customers.
