The ambience and service are excellent – ​​a really nice atmosphere to spend time in. Unfortunately I can't give full points because some of the dishes weren't served hot enough. The wild boar ragout from the winter menu was solid in taste, but not outstanding, and the creamed savoy cabbage as a side dish didn't entirely convince me. My partner chose the duck leg, which also only arrived lukewarm, but tasted quite good. Some time ago I also tried the knuckle here and I have to say that both the knuckle and the leg were a bit dry for my taste. For a tavern there would be a little bit more to complete the enjoyment.

The ambience of this restaurant was without a doubt the best part of our evening. The stylish furnishings and pleasant lighting created an inviting atmosphere that made you want to spend a nice evening. But unfortunately the service couldn't keep up with this positive impression. The service was simply underground. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and couldn't cope with the demands of the evening. As soon as we were seated, we were asked what to order, even though we couldn't even take a look at the menu. This continued: the waiting times between courses were long and we often felt ignored. As for the food, I was also disappointed. I ordered a tarte flambée, which unfortunately was rather mediocre - there are much better alternatives in the area. The only highlight was the beer, which tasted really good. Overall the evening was rather frustrating and I feel like it was far too expensive for what was offered. It's a shame because the ambience has potential, but the service and food leave a lot to be desired.

So... 8 people came in without a reservation (lucky, because it was full a short time later) Portions very good, taste indescribably delicious. Child friendly!!! The shop is really nice, unfortunately the food and service are not. The food is typically German and unfortunately everything tastes very bland and bland. Unfortunately, the service is also very inattentive.

We went for dinner as a group of 15 people. The menus came quickly and the food was delicious. The prices correspond to a good price-performance ratio. We would especially like to thank Gökhan, who served us with his super friendly manner, was always ready for a joke and made the evening unforgettable for us with a spontaneous dance performance by him and our friends. It was also very pleasant that we could sit relaxed until the end. These opening times are no longer a given. On behalf of the whole group, thank you again for everything.

Price performance seems to be written down here. Just as small as the portions that you get in front of your nose for an average of €25 once you've been served at some point. Wiener Schnitzel had no taste (probably that's why there are salt and pepper shakers at the table) The pork schnitzel with mushroom sauce was chewy and had just as much flavor as the Wiener schnitzel. The goulash was okay, but it also took a lot of getting used to with the two spinach dumplings. Especially since this portion was very manageable with 4 pieces of goulash. Afterwards we were not only €100 poorer for three main courses, a starter and three drinks, but also very disappointed. Not recommended.

We sat outside, which is just nice on beautiful Ullrichplatz. It would have been loud and stuffy inside. Nice tasteful decor. Clean toilet. Nice service. Delicious, fresh food. My son had a burger. I have a baked potato with a delicious green salad.

We dined here on a Saturday evening. We sat outside, the service was nice. However, the food was already on the table after five minutes; the schnitzels were molded meat and thickly breaded. The iced teas are definitely delicious, although exorbitantly expensive.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit. Went here for lunch and it was noticeable that during the week the place was almost empty. I had "Jäger's Mess", well, what can I say. Schnitzel was frozen and prepared in the deep fryer, the mushroom cream sauce was a ready-made product that was over-seasoned and the fried potatoes were also ready-made from a bag and also drowned in oil. This is more like canteen food and therefore completely overpriced. The atmosphere is nice, although I can imagine it being really loud when the place is full. Service was tried hard, but difficult to understand due to the language barrier. All in all, it's not really worth a stop.

Here you can sit outside very comfortably and protected from the wind. The waiters are very nice and the drinks come quickly. However, the price for a large beer is a bit more expensive at €5.80.

We spontaneously went to the Wirtshaus Magdeburg for the first time today and we'll stay that way. Frozen schnitzel, champions from a can, fried potatoes half raw and without seasoning, sauce from a bag. The waiters were totally bored but it still took forever to get served... even though it wasn't busy at all. Food and drinks totally overpriced. We won't be seen there again.

For the prices stated, only ready-made food is offered here. The potato soup is a disaster and the baked sheep's cheese doesn't deserve its name, you had to look for the vegetables.

I've been looking forward to a delicious and juicy Viennese schnitzel for a long time and so I ordered it with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the disappointment was right there... unfortunately the schnitzel didn't taste good at all (100% frozen), wasn't juicy at all & the potatoes tasted even worse. Some were soft, some were hard. There were only 2-3 cubes of bacon in total. It was really warm in the restaurant. At least the beer was tasty, but the €25 for the schnitzel was wasted money... :(

Average at best if you halve the prices. The food is 100% frozen but still very expensive. The staff wears clothing in the theme of the establishment, but they only speak broken German and don't really know what's going on. But the beer still tastes good.

Ambiance is nice. The waiters very friendly. Unfortunately, you can tell by the food that it's a chain and most of it is warmed up frozen meals. The “Gute Butterbretzn” was very sticky and was also returned. A new one was brought in without being asked, but unfortunately it wasn't really any better. Unfortunately, it was not possible to prepare Kaiserscharrn without raisins, which also speaks for ready-made food. The knuckle was nice and pink but unfortunately too dry and the fried potatoes weren't fresh either. The dollop of sauce for €4.50 wasn't worth the price just because of the quantity. The dips with the house bread, on the other hand, were very tasty but definitely not homemade. Too bad...

Nice atmosphere and very tasty food!

We were in the inn for the first time today. Unfortunately it was disappointing. The gentleman at reception was very friendly, which cannot necessarily be said about our service. We had the feeling he was annoyed. For dinner we ordered schnitzel and roast beef. The schnitzel was good, but the roast beef was definitely not appropriate for the price.

We came here spontaneously and were happy about the very friendly welcome from the staff, but we still got a table without a reservation. We were hungry and were really looking forward to the meal, unfortunately it was a big disappointment. We had the goulash, price 22.50, dry, tough meat, 2 mini dumplings, we only liked the salad, something like that for this price. We really expected something different in terms of quality and quantity. Since we were so hungry, we ate it. The waitress didn't ask us if everything was ok or if it tasted good, so we mentioned it ourselves when paying that we were dissatisfied. Since we were still hungry, we bought something else somewhere else. That was really a failure for us. There are pictures of the goulash in other reviews here, we should have looked at it beforehand, then at least this small portion wouldn't have surprised us so much.

Today I was eating at the pub with friends, it was definitely delicious 😋. Found e.g. My portion was too small for the price. For 15€ small children's hand fried potatoes, Very thin slices of liver cheese and egg won't fill you up. If you're very hungry, that can be a problem, but I didn't have any desserts at the end 😉. (but again, I wouldn't come) even if it was delicious. What I also found stupid was that I would have liked to have grandma's cheese spaetzle with liver cheese, but unfortunately it wasn't possible to sit down, which is actually sad. -T.P. didn't think the knuckle was that good today and --M.K. The mashed potatoes didn't taste good. M.G. / K.P. and J.S. found everything fine and okay 😀. So everything was okay, service was nice and friendly, the menu was explained to us in detail. The lovely waiter had started with us. The only thing we found stupid was that the washing up where we were sitting was extremely loud and then the music got louder and we just shouted at each other. And the waiter used the disabled toilet and didn't leave it clean. Everything was full of urine. We then addressed this and the problem was resolved.

No matter what time you come to the store, there is always excellent service.

We were there to drink beer, but what we saw at the other guests' tables whet our appetite.

The waiters were all very friendly, what I missed was the guests asking if everything was okay. The food, on the other hand, could have been a little better (at least the potato soup). When the restaurant opened, everything was great, but unfortunately today it tasted like boiled sausage water. The service staff responded well to the complaint.

There's no other way to say it, everything was good, we also got things from the breakfast menu in the evening, the staff was friendly, everything was clean and tidy, comfortably furnished, maybe a little big.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my main course, the Wiener Schnitzel for 27 euros. At this price I had high expectations, which unfortunately were not met. The meat was tough and gristly, making the dish inedible.

The restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and, at first glance, a good menu was empty inside and occupied with 12 guests outside. Difficult to communicate with the service staff. The service staff were very impersonal and very short. There wasn't a single please, thank you, everything was ok with you, did you enjoy it, etc. The waiter was constantly standing next to us, smoking and constantly playing with his cell phone. The food: meatballs with mashed potatoes, delicious meatballs, mashed potatoes, well, ok, the sauce advertised was unfortunately just instant sauce from a bag. The sausage salad we ordered was swimming in a mustard and oil dressing. Disgusting.

We had just come from Munich and wanted to end the evening at home. The ambience is a really nice restaurant, you feel really comfortable. The restaurant was relatively empty, but there were clearly enough staff available. We chose a table and waited about 15 minutes. until we could even order drinks. These were then brought relatively quickly, but the service staff left the table without saying anything and we had to wait another 15 minutes until we could place our food order. Apparently there was only one employee there who could take the orders, the others had big problems understanding what we wanted. The waitress who took the order was very friendly. We ordered Wiener Schnitzel for just under €26, beef meatballs with homemade mashed potatoes and a Bavarian burger with fries. Fried potatoes and Obatzda as a starter. We waited for our food with great hunger and corresponding anticipation, but we were completely disillusioned! The Wiener Schnitzel with fries looked like I had ordered it at a snack bar. It definitely wasn't fried in a pan but came out of the deep fryer and was correspondingly tough and fibrous The fried potatoes were very dark, soft and soaked in fat, unfortunately not edible in taste. The fries also turned out to be not crispy. Looked like they were cooked in old fat. The apparently homemade mashed potatoes were very dry and seemed like they came straight from the bag. We had to wait a long time again to be able to pay, and there was only one waitress responsible. Overall, it didn't seem inviting that the staff was sitting at the table in front of the entrance and smoking etc. With so few customers, we would have expected much better service. Especially after our stay in Munich, which also included hearty food, a bitter disappointment followed. As I said about the ambience, the inn is really beautiful and gives you the right expectations, which unfortunately disappointed us very much and we definitely won't be coming back under these circumstances. A pity. Because it really has potential.

An absolute nightmare! We had reserved a table for 3 for Saturday evening, only to have one of the worst dining experiences of our lives. After entering the restaurant, it took an incredibly long time before anyone even made an effort to greet us. We were eventually offered a seat outside, but that was just the beginning of an odyssey of poor service. Another interesting 15 minutes passed before a waiter finally appeared, but without menus, which made ordering much more difficult. Despite the waiter's initial friendliness, he seemed to immediately forget our request for menus as he seamlessly moved on to the other tables. After a considerable wait, we decided to move to another table where, fortunately, there were already cards on display. The order itself was a disaster of epic proportions. Our son chose a Wiener Schnitzel, which was unmistakably from the freezer. His special request for mashed potatoes was granted, but it was inedible. My wife had a similarly miserable experience. My pork knuckle was a culinary disaster. How can you screw up such a simple dish to such an extent that it becomes inedible? However, the pinnacle of poor service was that our drinks were only served an eternity later, when the food was already on the table. Given the prices of around 25 to 30 euros per dish, this was simply unacceptable. It seemed as if we weren't the only ones suffering, because the same chaos reigned at the neighboring tables. The Wirtshaus Magdeburg is an absolute rip-off and shows an unbelievable unfriendliness when you express legitimate criticism of the food (frozen goods) and service. An urgent advice to everyone: Avoid the Magdeburg Wirtshaus if you want to spend a pleasant evening in the company of your loved ones!

Was supposed to be a nice dinner and was quite disappointed. Wiener Schnitzel with fries and pork with fried potatoes. Carelessly prepared and schnitzel from the deep fryer. Takeaways - level. Have had better experiences there. When prices increase, the quality should not also decrease. Service is polite and quick. There's nothing to complain about.

What use is the great ambience if the rest, the most important thing, is not right. All dishes were properly increased, e.g. T. 1/3 markup. The restaurant was almost empty at 1:30 p.m. I think 2 small schnitzels with fried potatoes and 2 to 3 mushrooms for 20 euros is exorbitant. Last year 14.90 euros. No lettuce leaf on it, although there is still plenty of space on the plate. If staff notices you, they are very friendly. I can't recommend it.

There were a lot of staff but unfortunately it seemed as if everyone was unskilled and untrained. Of the service staff who were at my table, only one could communicate properly in German. That's not a problem so far. It just doesn't make sense if employees ask how the food tastes and don't understand the guest's answer. Criticism was laughed away and ignored. Drinks were brought to our table twice that we hadn't ordered. This was also included in the bill at the end. Something similar could also be observed at the neighboring tables. There's a lot of confusion going on here. The restaurant is simply poorly managed. If you really think you have to eat here, then check your bill. For me it was the first and last visit. Absolutely not recommended.

Our stay in Magdeburg had started and we decided on the inn because we really like the Bavarian cuisine. I just thought it was a shame that we initially had to wait 55 minutes to tell the waitress whether there was a menu. When we arrived, the outside tables were still filled with leftovers from the previous customer. Plates, glasses and co. We only received our drinks shortly before dinner. After we got the tavern pan twice for a whopping 23.90 euros, everything looked good at first. I was very impressed with the taste of the sauerkraut, but the knuckle was just way too dry. In the end, the edges were almost inedible and the crust was far too dry and hard. Some of the potatoes from the fried potatoes were still raw and hard. The sauce wasn't enough, the taste was great, just too little. For the price I would have expected more, and that they would have taken more care of the customers who came. The tables after us were served much more quickly and the attention there was better. PS: If you see that 5 people from the staff are standing at the bar and talking, you shouldn't be surprised. I think three stars is still a good rating here. We'd love to come back, but I hope it will be better next time. Thanks to the young lady for the extraordinarily good attention and, above all, the nice demeanor.

My favorite restaurant in Magdeburg. Very nice service, quick, attentive, food is very good. We were there for a white sausage breakfast and then again in the evening for a burger and pulled pork. I love the cozy atmosphere. I will definitely come back there on my next stay in Magdeburg.

I can't share the positive reviews. The ambience is quite appealing. But: in the men's toilets there were some dried piss stains around the urinals. Smell of urine in the pee pool without water. Oh well. Continuing with the service: little or very bad German. Food: comes super quickly, half cold and doesn't match the information on the menu. Fried potatoes soggy, hash browns not crispy but dripping with fat. It's a long way from being able to enjoy your meal in peace here. It was my second visit. The first was so-so after the opening, now a further deterioration. No recommendation from my side. There are much better restaurants in Magdeburg!

They actually sat at a table next to the bar the whole time, and on top of that there were always new people coming and joining them there. Very funny. The music was strange too, just hits. Felt like an over 50 singles party, but not a pub. The store does not live up to its name and ESPECIALLY THE PRICE.

The atmosphere in the Wirtshaus Magdeburg is nice/cozy and not completely “blue and white”. The music was a bit loud, which limited the conversation a bit. But we weren't there to chat, we were there to eat. And that was extremely good. Good portion, very tasty and everyone should find something on the menu. We'll definitely come back again.

We sat out here in the most wonderful weather. The staff was very friendly and the map looks great. We only had a drink, but we'll definitely be back to try out the menu. It also looks really quaint and cozy inside.

Service was very unfriendly, uncoordinated and despite having enough staff you were ignored for 30 minutes with empty plates on the table, hand signals, gestures etc. Food was frozen creme brulee vanilla pudding with no sugar on top. Drinking was okay. The best thing about the store was the exit

So we went there for dinner yesterday and the roulades were a disgrace. You could choose between 1 or 2 roulades and accordingly you paid more. When the food was brought to us, we didn't look bad. There was, if at all, a roulade cut in half in the middle and it was sold to us as two! When we spoke to the waiter we were left sitting with flimsy excuses! In addition, the music is far too loud for a restaurant in the evening (indoors). You would like to have a conversation at the table, it was just exhausting!

The inn is centrally located with opportunities to sit outside. We were looking forward to tarte flambée. The tarte flambée was very dry, like crispbread. It tasted like cardboard. So the chefs, if they are supposed to be chefs, have no idea about the “real tarte flambée” as the real Alsatian tarte flambée should taste like. Here you get a tarte flambée, dry and without taste. Loveless. Without any soul in the courts. What most of the dishes from the other guests looked like, well. Everything looks like ready meals. In Bavaria, delicious food is cooked really well, with soul in the food. The side salad, well, with ready-made dressing. The service was friendly, but the service wanted to keep the remaining amount of the 50 euros. Only when I mentioned that I would get my money back was the remaining money given out. Two tarte flambées and 2 small side salads plus 2 soda is not cheap for 2 people. If only it would at least still taste good, but it didn't. Definitely, not another visit.

Really cool atmosphere in the old town of Magdeburg. Unfortunately the portions are extremely small. I also expect a decent portion from a pub. Ordered Grandma’s Spätze and received a children’s portion! €13 for a children's plate is really ridiculous! Beer and ambience are great! Service unfortunately mediocre. We had to let us know 4 times that we wanted to pay and the store wasn't even half full.

A good address for the discerning guest

A light spade from the barrel always works. In addition to the inner location, the Magdeburg Wirtshaus also has a beer garden, which invites you to linger when the weather is nice. When it comes to food, I still see potential for improvement. The schnitzel I ordered, probably a ready-made schnitzel, was not fried but deep-fried. This type of preparation is suitable when things need to be done quickly. The service is very attentive and all orders come to the table quickly.
