Very good food at absolutely fair prices. I especially like the atmosphere there, sitting in the shade under the trees.

Garden salad with chicken for €15.90 doesn't sound bad at first. What you get is a ready-made salad mix with a watery dressing and ready-made chicken that was probably thrown in the deep fryer. Plus an apple spritzer for €4.90!! I won't be eating here again.

The Talschenke (Tal Inn) is enchantingly located in the Eselsburger Valley, and the menu promised delicious food. We were happy to stop there. The food was served very quickly, suggesting it was reheated. The dumplings were dry, with little spinach and chard, but plenty of dough. The side dish wasn't particularly tasty either. In our opinion, the value for money isn't right. We therefore can't recommend it. We also found the strong anti-wind power sentiment to be a negative. It's a shame.

It couldn't be more beautifully situated by a stream. Very nicely laid out seating with plenty of shade from parasols, yet still bright and harmonious. The surrounding ambiance is also very pleasant. The self-service works perfectly, with delicious dishes recommended for a snack, and a wide selection of very good drinks on tap. Always happy to stop by again. Super friendly service. The food is okay, but unfortunately, the many flies are annoying in the summer.

We stopped by this rustic inn in search of "lentils with spaetzle and string sausages." It has a large beer garden with a children's playground. Due to the weather, we sat inside. Outside, you have to order yourself. Here's how it works: find a table, note the table number, and order at the bar. The innkeepers will then bring you the food and drinks. I imagine it's very busy when the weather is nice. The food was delicious. We'd be happy to come back.

Great! The food was quick and delicious, portions ranged from normal to very generous, and the value was good. Dogs are welcome! We were asked straight away if we needed water for our dog, and they even have dog blankets for loan. The beer garden is spacious, shady or sunny, whichever you prefer, with a playground for kids. If we go hiking there again, we'll be happy to come back!

If you're in the Eselsburger Valley, you can definitely visit the restaurant. We only stopped there for a drink after our hike through the valley.

Ambitious prices, as a beer costs more than at home in Munich. The food is also at Munich prices and is only average. The spritzer has a strange sugar mixture, which, of course, we expected better, considering we're organic.

No recommendation for the food; you serve yourself. The cutlery was carelessly shoved into the counter. The wait for schnitzel with fries and a portion of cheese spaetzle was half an hour, even though there were very few guests. Unfortunately, the spaetzle had to be returned. Inedible, reheated, and tasted and looked nothing like cheese spaetzle. The employee was kind enough to refund my money. Thank you for that. The schnitzel with fries was okay, but not particularly good. A shame.

The Talschenke's absolutely idyllic location and cozy seating in the mature beer garden make for a very high price. The prices for food and especially drinks are incredibly high, and that's self-service, mind you. During our visit, the staff was friendly and the food was delicious, but overall, we felt the value for money wasn't quite right.

After paddling along the Brenz River, enjoy a hearty meal in the beer garden. You'll be well-equipped to satisfy your hunger and thirst.

I can definitely recommend this idyllic spot. We enjoyed the food immensely. It was a lovely place to sit. It's usually quiet, too. It's truly a little corner of the world; you feel like you're on a short vacation. If not, like we did, a group of cyclists would come along and play Ballermann music. We found that a bit distracting, but we sat at another table; luckily there was plenty of choice.

Beer, shandy, and cola wheat beer cost almost 6 euros, coffee cost 4.40 euros, and at 11:30 a.m., despite the cake menu, there was no cake available, and the bartender was rude. No, thank you, never again.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Eselsburg Inn. The service was attentive, the food delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere is harmonious – a particularly nice feature is the lovely outdoor playground with toys for children of all ages. The beer garden is also very inviting and idyllically situated right on the Brenz River. We'll definitely be back!

The ambience is great. We only ate fries and they were good. There were also plenty of ketchup and mayonnaise packets. Even have some to return. The service was, well. A little chaotic and rough. I've had friendlier conditions in other restaurants. Still expandable.

The Talschenke inn is perfectly located and has a great outdoor area...and that's about it. The portions are very large, but who needs that today?? I had by far my worst lentils, lukewarm and tasteless, until then I didn't know that you could go wrong with lentils. The spinach/chard dumplings for my wife looked good but didn't have much to offer in terms of taste. Location alone can only keep a restaurant running for a limited time. We could live very well with slightly smaller portions if this would increase the quality. The positive thing about the visit was the beautiful outdoor area and surroundings

We were a bit skeptical about the food at first. €17.90 for cheese spaetzle with salad is a very high price. But we were actually very positively surprised by the taste. The cheese spaetzle was better than on many alpine pastures in Bavaria. The portion was very large and the side salad was varied, large and well seasoned. We were there on Friday afternoon, which is why everything went relatively quickly. Things can definitely be different on the weekend. We were definitely very satisfied. Only the prices are a bit high (e.g. cappuccino €4.60). We'll be back! PS: very dog ​​friendly! There is even a box of dog blankets. Das Ambiente immer noch nett aber das Essen unterirdisch! Gemischter Braten auf einem viel zu kleinen Teller.. dass das Essen an den Ränder runter lief... Soße sulzig und pappig!!! Schreckliche Spätzle...und das Schnitzel schmeckt nach altem Fett ! Salat in einen Suppenteller geklatscht... viel zu viel... alles geschmacklich kaum zu unterscheiden... und ein paar riesige Salatblätter obendrauf! Mein Mann hat sich geekelt vor dem Essen ! Und dann der Preis !!!! Finger weg von dem Lokal ... lieber in den Bioladen nebenan.... hat ein Kaffee !

We go there often for lunch, the food is always good except for the cheese spaetzle and the melted onion, there is room for improvement here.

Great location, unfortunately no culinary delights. The restaurant scores with a great location and friendly, helpful staff. The waiting time when ordering was also acceptable despite the high number of visitors. However, the kitchen wasn't convincing, it looked like mass-produced goods. Salad seemed careless and more convenience than cuisine, the dressing was more water than taste, and the main courses were unfortunately quite monotonous. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not justified. Conclusion: If you only rely on the view, you will be happy here. If you value good food, you should go somewhere else.

The staff is sometimes friendly, sometimes not so friendly. You can eat fries there if there are a lot of guests there. The interior is very built up and doesn't invite you to sit down and stay. The outdoor area is ok, the nature around it is very beautiful.

Unfortunately cake is not good. Pear tart? Very dough-heavy and powerful. You had to look for the pears. Unfortunately, the apple crumble wasn't worthy of its name either. Totally dry, the apples were just barely there. And then these porcini mushrooms...tasted OK but warmed up with a strange consistency. At first I thought they were fried potatoes. The sauce served with it was totally thick and crumbly. This can be done better! The only good thing was the chicken and the accompanying salad. Price-performance absolutely unjustified! Once was enough.

Definitely worth a visit every time. The combination of older architecture, playful outdoor area and playground for children alone attracts young and old here at any time of the year.

The food is fantastic, the portions are large, well prepared and a feast for the eye, which, as we all know, also eats... Not cheap, but 100% worth the money... The staff is always friendly, nice and helpful... You can either sit in the cozy living room or, when the weather is dry and nice, you can relax on the terrace... There are also plenty of shaded areas... It is also accessible for disabled people with wheelchairs... There are also parking spaces... Free above the valley, where a wide gravel path winds down between the winding rocks... Walking time approx. 20 to 30 minutes... However, there is a charge directly in front of the Talschänke... „Schwäbische Kässpätzle“ohne Käse. In den Kässpätzle war kein Käse zu finden, es waren lediglich Spätzle. Das „schwäbische“ daran war wohl, daß man sich den Käse gespart hat. Der mitgelieferte Salat war fade, da er eigentlich nur salzig war.

I was there just about a week ago and the food was semi good. The pommes tasted old and also way to salty. The other food was OK. They have a big garden with a playground in the middle. It's self service. Although it wasn't full it took some time until the food arrived!

A Swabian sausage salad (€12.90) was tasted, but its taste left a lot to be desired.

Wir waren im Biergarten zu Gast. Der angrenzende Spielplatz ist für die Kinder eine tolle Sache und auch die älteren können sich zurücklehnen. Nettes Ambiente am Ufer der Brenz. Das Essen wird an der Theke bestellt und bezahlt, dann vom freundlichen Personal zeitnah serviert. Der Burger und die Pommes waren lecker. Leider war das Schweineschnitzel zwar außen knusprig, aber innen noch rosa. Der Salat war frisch, aber das Dressing schmeckte wie aus der Packung. Ebenso das Salat-Buquet an den Hauptgerichten. Die Steinpilztäschle waren vermutlich convenience Produkte, die Pilze in der Soße schleimig, keinesfalls frisch. Das Hühnchen war lecker mariniert, aber ebenfalls ein Tütenprodukt. Vielleicht muss in einem so großen Biergarten alles schnell gehen und diese industriell vorgefertigten Gerichte sind notwendig, um einen solchen Betrieb am laufen zu halten. Aber dann dürften diese Gerichte nicht so teuer sein. Vielleicht wäre es besser die Anzahl der Gerichte auf der Karte zu reduzieren. Lieber weniger Speisen, und die dafür frisch zubereitet und lecker. Dann zahlt der Kunde auch gerne diese Preise. Ein Saftschorle 0,4 L für 4,80€ finde ich definitiv überteuert. Trotz des netten Personals und des ansprechenden Ambientes - wir werden wohl nicht mehr kommen.

Today my wife and I went on an extensive tour from Nattheim through the Eselburger Valley on our MTB. Originally we just wanted to have a snack in the organic farm café next door, but we spontaneously changed our mind and decided to eat something “real”. We were a little early for lunch (11:05), so we bridged the waiting time in a shady spot in the beer garden with a cool wheat beer and took our time choosing something delicious from the extensive menu. The selection is more than decent, everyone can find something here. The choice fell on the wild boar goulash with yeast dumplings and the spinach and chard dumplings with chicken fillet. Short and painless: incredibly tasty 😋 I think the concept of self-service and table service is great, so you don't have to wait for service to place another order or pay, even at peak times. Very cozy location (really rustic inside too), delicious food, fair prices, nice service. What more do you want! We will definitely come back here 🙌🏻

If you're having a nice canoe trip on the Brenz, it's definitely worth getting out at the Talschenke, the food is always excellent as is the service.

The atmosphere was very idyllic and relaxed, but I can imagine that there would be a bit more going on here on the weekends/holidays...
