We were actually looking forward to a beer after a long city tour. The outside area of ​​the inn was a good 50% free. There was a reserved sign on two or three tables. The young man from the service asked me if we would like to eat something. So I answered him, no, we would just like to have a drink, and a short announcement came from him. In this case all tables are occupied. What can I say? In my opinion, gastronomy and hospitality are different. Especially since at least 6 tables were free without a reservation. Therefore even one star is too many.

The cheese dumplings were really dry and some of the vegetables were burnt. I've gotten much better for cheaper. Too bad. The ice cream had pieces of ice in it, was probably a little old or had been thawed too often and put back in the cooler. Really a shame. Service was very attentive. Unfortunately there are no painting supplies for children

The first impression was promising, the food came surprisingly quickly, after about five minutes. Unfortunately, that was the most critical point: My dish was only lukewarm and the meat was clearly too cooked, even though I had ordered it differently. Overall, the kitchen didn't make a particularly professional impression. For the higher prices we would have expected much more, especially in terms of quality and preparation. It's a shame, because the ambience would have been better.

Chestnut trees like in the beer garden would be the ultimate. But being in the middle of the city center remains a pipe dream. Otherwise everything was excellent. Warmly recommended.

We had a great start to the evening — enjoyed our meal and a lovely bottle of Salzl Zweigelt Reserve 2019. When we asked for a second wine recommendation, your waiter suggested the Trollinger Trocken. After tasting it, we mentioned it felt a bit too light compared to the first one. To our surprise, the waiter responded through a phone translator with, “it was your problem.” When we asked to speak to the owner, he said he was the boss. We then said we wouldn’t be coming back, and his reply was, “it’s up to you.” That kind of attitude really caught us off guard and left a negative impression. As guests in Germany, we were looking forward to experiencing Bavarian hospitality, but unfortunately this didn’t meet the expectations.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the service I experienced during our visit to your restaurant in Augsburg on April 6, 2025. While we initially enjoyed our dinner and a bottle of Salzl Zweigelt Reserve 2019, we asked for a recommendation for a second wine. The waiter suggested a Trollinger Trocken. The atmosphere was very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, the food was great.

The Wirtshaus am Dom is centrally located. The restaurant is comfortably furnished. There is a nice terrace outside with little traffic noise. The range of dishes is extensive. The pork knuckle is recommended. The beers served include products from the Andechser brewery. If you want to play with your life in a culinary way, you can try the “Gnadenlos” currywurst. Caution: The spiciness can hardly be put into words. The service is friendly. Therefore: deserves top marks!

I was there for business and booked spontaneously. All the tables were full. That was a good first sign. Orders were taken very well, and the food arrived super quickly. Excellent quality. Everyone was absolutely thrilled. We'll be back.

Good traditional Bavarian cuisine. Dishes should have more vegetables instead of meat. That's simply contemporary.

Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied with our meals, and the beer was a bit flat. The ambiance is otherwise quite nice, as you'd expect from a pub. The vaulted cellar is a bit close to the restrooms for our taste, which aren't in the best condition. It's best to keep the connecting door closed at all times to prevent unpleasant odors. The service was friendly. We personally prefer other pubs in Augsburg, but as we all know, tastes differ.

Was there with a colleague! Ordered 2 x roast pork with red cabbage! Both really almost cold! Then kindly pointed out that it was cold! Was taken away, then a ping and a ping! The two roast pork came out of the microwave! Really wow! When I go to a Bavarian Gadthaus, I don't want microwaved food! The waiter or innkeeper was very unfriendly! I then paid for everything and was too stupid to argue! We will never go there again!

The ambience was quite harmonious but the visitors in the restaurant were very loud. You should reserve a place in the vault down by the toilet if you can't tolerate noise well.

Booked several weeks ago for a family Christmas dinner for 10 people. When we arrived today we were shown to two different tables. Yes, they wouldn't have room, that's just how the waiter works with us. After we didn't accept this we were shown to a new table for 6! Persons. My sisters-in-law2, my son and my brother-in-law were allowed to squeeze onto a bench. My father-in-law and mother-in-law had one chair, we had to get the rest of the chairs ourselves! Steal from the next table. Was a tight unpleasant thing. The wheat didn't taste as advertised. Crust roast and sauce completely tasteless. Everyone who had meat simply said it was incredibly dry. After asking the waiter what was wrong with the sauce, there was no response. Never again. Absolute failure and outrageously expensive. No apology, nothing.

Really good Bavarian restaurant. Good food, everything fit the picture. A young waiter who was not only polite, but also knew how gastronomy works. Liver dumpling soup, followed by pork knuckle (strip of fat was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, as it should be) and top crusty roast, there were two of us, homemade coleslaw, red cabbage, beautiful dumplings. Very good. If you hardly have a chance without a reservation, that says a lot. We'd love to come back.

We went to the Augsburg Christmas market today and then looked for a restaurant to eat. There were 6 of us and we had everything from a knuckle to a children's schnitzel and it was super tasty. The waiters are super nice and accommodating. All in all, we were satisfied and can only recommend it.

Augsburg is known for its large selection of pubs and we were really looking forward to our visit. Unfortunately, this inn could not meet our expectations. The food didn't seem freshly prepared, but rather prepared and warmed up later - from the main courses to dessert. Although the dishes were served hot, the taste suggested that they had been prepared some time before ordering. What was particularly striking was the speed with which the courses were served. Within just 45 minutes we had three courses on the table. This is certainly efficient, but it lacked the feeling that fresh cooking was being done here with love and care. We were most disappointed by the Kaiserschmarrn. Unfortunately, this traditional dish was not convincing in terms of taste and the preparation left a lot to be desired. We expected much more, especially for such a classic and popular dessert. Our visit showed us how important it is to find out in advance about the many great inns in Augsburg. The city has a beautiful culinary diversity to offer and we recommend everyone to read the reviews carefully to make a choice that suits them. Unfortunately, this inn couldn't convince us!!!!

There was an organized group meeting, so the waiters had a lot of work to do. The kitchen was probably in a hurry to serve 50 meals. Therefore, the duck was left in the oven for a short time and the meat did not fall off the bone. Apart from that, I have no objections.

I've been there for the third time now, but today I didn't feel wanted by the guy who was in the kitchen with me. Those looks from the guy made me seethe. So I forgot about that for a moment, the last two times I liked the food very much, since I like to eat duck and have eaten duck everywhere, I enjoyed it here the most recently, especially the price was right. But today it was just different than usual, the duck was small and the sauce, which is actually delicious, was slapped down listlessly and sorry, I'd rather get half a cock and have more of it!! When I then paid for my half duck with 0.5 l of Spezi, it was suddenly more expensive than it was about 2 weeks ago when I ate there, so strangely 3 € more??? What the hell, well I'll avoid this place in the future. I'd advise you to go to the tavern at the bottom of the arch, the conditions and the kitchen are friendlier and the food always tastes the same and the price doesn't change. But The unsympathetic big guy in the kitchen was lucky that I didn't ask for the boss there. Never there again, I strongly advise against it.

We were there on October 26th. Went there with 4 adults without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. An absolute "go to" in Augsburg - without any ifs or buts. Price/performance ratio for the food is right. Ambience typical and inviting. The service is particularly positive and deserves an extra star! Rarely have we experienced such a professional customer approach. Always get the feeling that you are important as a guest and also that the service enjoys their job. It's crazy that no empty phrases or standard phrases were made, but rather offers, suggestions and recommendations tailored to our needs. And all of this while the store was packed with a wild mix of football fans (FCA / BVB), tourists and other hungry/thirsty people. Thank you for a very successful evening and for organizing the taxi! The 7-minute, then 15-minute, then 20-minute beer ordering automation will remain in the memory for a long time. :-)

The food, had a Kasburger. Too small, meat was fried extremely dry. Not recommended. The spicy currywurst has fire but is still edible. It should have been ok. Service, Vivienne, was really good. Always fast and on the go. Beer was good.

I’ve made a reservation online to eat there. I went to the restaurant at the hour and they didn’t want that we eat there. They said that we didn’t make a reservation. I showed them the confirmation and they refused us. Maybe because we are tourist ? They didn’t want to talk in English.

Unfortunately the knuckle was totally tough, almost inedible. The waiter's answer was simply "It's the pig's fault." The floor was sticky because “a beer was spilled the day before and they tried to clean the floor twice”!? Overall not recommended.
