A modern yet cozy, traditional restaurant. Good service, good food, would gladly return.

We had a very good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The service was friendly but unfortunately only available sporadically; drinks could definitely have been enjoyed more. It's quite possible that this was due to the busy pre-Christmas season. ... We will gladly return when we are in Würzburg again.

Simply superb! I highly recommend this restaurant: a well-balanced menu, a wide selection of drinks, and a modern ambiance are all impressive :) The staff is incredibly friendly, efficient, and organized. Our order arrived promptly, and everything tasted delicious; the dessert is especially recommended! We'll definitely be back! I would recommend making a reservation. The restaurant is popular, but we were lucky ;)

The food was okay, the service was excellent, and the organization was great – there were over 20 of us, and the food actually arrived for everyone at the same time. Only the ambiance didn't quite convince me.

Never again. The sauerbraten was tough and chewy. The red cabbage was tasteless, as was the gingerbread sauce. It was cold, and the waitress was rambling on about some nonsense from her personal life. I was simply disappointed.

A large and beautifully decorated restaurant in the city center, behind the cathedral. Moderate prices for food and drinks. The lavender spritzer was very good. The Franconian Brusskädda (a type of potato dumpling) is highly recommended.

Top-notch Franconian cuisine! The central location right next to the cathedral is ideal. We were truly impressed by the food: The "Blue Tips" (a type of Franconian sausage) were perfectly prepared. A testament to authentic and high-quality Franconian culinary art. The service was friendly and very efficient. The price-performance ratio is excellent. A clear highlight and an absolute recommendation for lovers of honest, traditional cuisine!

Surprisingly decorative inside, even though the building itself is rather unassuming. Excellent food, a pleasingly large vegetarian selection, and not just "Kässpätzle" (cheese spaetzle).

The restaurant is beautifully and modernly furnished. But apart from that, our visit today was unfortunately very disappointing. The waitress spilled two glasses of beer on our table, and it all spilled onto our jackets. Then she suddenly walked off and didn't come back. No apology! Her colleague had to clean up the mess. These things can happen, but after this incident, I would have expected at least the drinks to be on the house. But we received the full bill. After our meal, we would have liked to have dessert and a drink, but we were asked to leave after the table was cleared. The delay in our reservation was, of course, due to the mess, but nobody seemed to care... It was very unpleasant, and it could have been handled much better! A real shame...

Everything is perfect here. Excellent food, great service. Very cozy. A great place to go in Würzburg for an evening.

Excellent, traditional German cuisine. Regional and seasonal dishes are available. We were a group of nine for dinner. The staff was very friendly, not intrusive, but still attentive. The different dishes arrived from the kitchen simultaneously. The prices were reasonable for the location.

Everything was absolutely fantastic! From the food to the service! But the prices are truly exorbitant; 35 euros for half a duck is extremely cheeky in my opinion.

A modern, stylish inn with friendly service staff, despite the restaurant being busy. I would not recommend the vegan herb dumplings. In my opinion, they are completely overpriced (€16.90) and the taste and texture don't justify the price.

Great meat, great beer, great atmosphere. I was a little tipsy that evening during dinner, so I went to the restroom and squatted down. A German woman came in to calm me down. She looked after me several times, gave me a glass of water and two peppermint tablets. I recovered quickly. I keep meeting such wonderful German women – they remind me of my mother and grandmother. This is one of the most unforgettable experiences for me this year.

A good restaurant we visited while driving by... Very appealing atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food... The only thing that disappointed us was the schnitzel, which wasn't prepared well (not crisped, soaked in oil, and the fries were too soggy). The kitchen needs to improve in that area... The rest was excellent, and we would come back again...

Unfortunately, all the reviews don't reflect reality, and I wonder if they're fake. Where we agree is on the friendliness of the service. The food, however, doesn't even deserve one star. It's absolute mass-produced, canteen-level fare. The pumpkin-ginger soup had no consistency; the ginger flavor was completely undetectable. The potato soup, while creamy, was utterly tasteless. The main course consisted of two generic sauces. The bread dumplings, which were supposed to be fresh, were fried and therefore dry. The price-performance ratio at the Wirtshaus am Dom is simply not right. They charge a hefty price for simple, quick canteen food. Perhaps they should consider whether less is more and specialize in three dishes where cooking is clearly a craft, not just a careless throwing together of ingredients. The server immediately responded kindly to our negative feedback about the food – it was evident that this wasn't her first encounter with such a situation. The only remarkable thing was that we still had some of the food this morning - unfortunately, this is not a positive thing.

The schnitzel is good, the Schäufele (pork shoulder) is delicious; anyone craving Franconian cuisine in Würzburg won't go wrong here! The staff is very polite and efficient. However, the restaurant is very busy, and unfortunately, you often have to strictly adhere to the table reservations. If you're not quick enough, you might even be asked to leave. This unfortunately sometimes created a feeling of pressure/stress to eat and leave quickly during our visit. The ambiance is very inviting and has the feel of a classic Franconian "Wirtshaus" (tavern). The menu is creative, and the food is appealing. We'd gladly return!

It's okay, but it could be better. In my opinion, too much money was invested in the furnishings and not enough in the quality of the food.

A pretty good organic Wiener Schnitzel, apple fritters with tonka bean parfait were also good.

We had lunch at the inn. The food was delicious, and I was particularly impressed by the incredibly friendly waitress. You could tell she really enjoyed her job. We would definitely come back again.

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant was very disappointing. The bread in the "Franconian Brusskädda" was extremely thickly sliced, and the slices were of varying widths. Everything was very fatty, and the meat wasn't braised sufficiently – tough, stringy, and barely chewable. The dish was intended for two people, but only one portion was served on one plate. It would have been obvious to offer at least an additional plate for the second person – unfortunately, this wasn't done. The pike-perch fillet we ordered was also completely tasteless, unsalted, and covered in an indefinable sauce. The soup, which we ordered as a small hope, lacked any quality – it was full of lumps, extremely spicy, and more reminiscent of paste than a soup. Overall, neither the food nor the service was up to the standard you'd expect at these prices. A real shame...

Great ambiance, friendly staff, and excellent Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes). The lavender and wild berry honey spritzer, as an alternative to beer, is highly recommended.

The service was impressive. I've rarely seen such dynamic employees with such enthusiasm and joy at work. The ambiance was very cozy. The food, while not breathtaking, was still very tasty and lived up to expectations. The value for money was excellent. I would definitely come back.

We tried the vegan option “Handgerollte Kräuterknödel” and it tasted good, and the classic “Schäuferle”, which was good as well. However the crispy pork crackling on the Schäuferle could have been larger. Overall the service was quick and friendly.

Pure hecticness and stress. We arrived with a group of 18 people and made a reservation well in advance. We were informed in advance that we only had two hours, but what we experienced when we arrived was anything but a pleasant evening. Upon arrival, the waiter told us that he would be there after an hour and a half to collect the bill. His hectic manner, the running around, and his manner made it impossible for us as a group to feel comfortable. We all found this extremely distracting and told him so when paying the bill. The service continued in such a way that he gave one member of our group, the guest, the drinks while she did her work. An absolute no-go. The point of visiting a restaurant is to feel comfortable in a pleasant atmosphere, to be able to relax and have a quiet conversation. But none of that applies to this restaurant. Of course, costs have to be covered, but they are not at the expense of the guest. For us, it was an experience we never want to repeat.

This was our first time here and we received a very warm welcome. The Kellerbier (cellar beer) is delicious, and the shoulder of pork practically fell off the bone. We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. The service is super friendly and very fast. The food also arrived in just 15 minutes. I highly recommend the restaurant. We felt very comfortable.

We booked a meal with a group. Everything went smoothly. Communication via email beforehand was also very competent. The food was excellent, the service was super fast and very friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Yesterday, we were at the Wirtshaus am Dom with a large group (18 people) for a birthday. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant for a larger group, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion. After we had already selected all of our dishes (some of them three courses) in advance, the dishes were served very quickly. We found it very unfortunate that dessert was already served, even though some people were still finishing their main course. This made you feel rushed, and the atmosphere was simply not relaxed. The food was good overall, but could have been improved. Unfortunately, we were rather insensitively kicked out after two hours. A seating time of two hours is understandable for a smaller table of 2-6 people, but they don't generate nearly as much revenue as a larger group. However, we did deserve special mention for our extremely friendly young waitress, who looked after us in a very relaxed and engaging manner. The room we were sitting in became stuffy over time, and even the ceiling fan didn't help much. I also thought it was a shame that we weren't seated at one table, but were split between two. The room certainly had plenty of room.

As always, everything was great! Both the food and the service. The Wirtshaus am Dom provided excellent culinary delights for our birthday celebration. 👍🏾 We'd love to come back. 🥰

We decided to eat there because of the many positive reviews. Aside from the good service, it was unfortunately disappointing. Slimy, mushy mushrooms, I suspect from a jar, in a bland cream sauce with dumpling slices that were completely dry. What a shame, almost €14 without the salad! Maybe I should apply to be a cook there?

We spontaneously stopped by the Wirtshaus am Dom for dinner today. A friendly welcome and table assignment followed. A very pleasant waiter (extravagantly elegant) served us at our table. Questions regarding allergens were promptly clarified, and small requests for changes were implemented. Beautiful ambiance, delicious food, good value for money, and friendly service. Main course, dessert, schnapps, beer, and mineral water – we were very satisfied! ☺️

Very good decor. A lovely blend of modern and traditional. Delicious Bavarian/Franconian dishes. Friendly staff. Everything is super clean and well-maintained. Very cozy. Top-notch service. Orders are taken professionally. The time saved by the efficiency leaves time for friendliness. Keep it up!! Smoked mashed potatoes, wild boar sausages. Simply delicious. Lower Franconia knows it all!! Even when the restaurant is full, the service is good and quickly organized. The Franconian sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings is truly delicious. Or the pork roast with cabbage. Always my first stop when I'm in Würzburg. Regular dishes, but also a nice variety with the lunch menu and weekly specials. A service chef with humor and wit.

We've been to the Wirtshaus am Dom several times in the past, and we're back today. What happened to you today? The food didn't impress us this time. The pasta lacked salt, and the fries were hard and dry. Hopefully, everything will be better next time :-).

We ate here with two small children. The waitress was especially attentive and brought a folder full of coloring pages and crayons for the little ones. The food was delicious and the beer garden was lovely. All in all, highly recommended.

Good food, very nice service, great value for money

I arrived on a Saturday evening in the summer and got a table right away without a reservation. The restaurant was busy (at least the outdoor area). The food was good and served fairly quickly after ordering. The entire team is super friendly and very attentive. If I'm ever in Würzburg again, I'll be happy to come back!

Highly recommended. Modern and classic cuisine in perfect harmony. Prompt and friendly staff, excellent food, and a great location right next to the cathedral square. Absolutely fair value for money, with very generous portions. Really, really good food! Only: long after our meal, we would have liked to order more drinks, but no one came for a while to order from. We really enjoyed Würzburg, and our visit to the inn was the perfect way to round off the day.

"Wirtshaus am Dom – A Hymn to Franconia" I dined in the shadow of the venerable cathedral, and the culinary delights were a poem. The heart of Franconia beats in this kitchen – hearty, honest, and of such quality that even a well-traveled guest feels at home. The selection of traditional dishes is excellent, the portions generous, and every bite speaks of craftsmanship and dedication. The service? Exceptional – attentive, warm-hearted, as if you were an old friend of the house. I was there with three other people. We reserved a table in advance. We received a friendly welcome and were escorted to our table. The server at the table was friendly and accommodating. Since one of our companions wanted the schnitzel, but it would have been too big, he told us we could order a smaller one. I personally think that's great, since some restaurants serve it exclusively for children or older people. The drinks and food arrived quickly. Our server came back during the meal to check that everything was okay. Yes, it was!

Can't recommend this place enough. The food is top notch, the service is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed yet alive. A must come!!
