Simply a great experience - the atmosphere is rustic and lovingly furnished. The service is on point and keeps asking if everything is still OK. But the absolute blast was the food: The menu is manageable, but the dishes on it are simply fantastic (see pictures) and the ingredients are perfectly coordinated - e.g.: The spaghetti with porcini mushroom pesto only tasted perfect when you added the rocket ate. You can tell that someone knows their way around the kitchen. The pretzel schnitzel was also freshly prepared and had an “airy crust” - just like a real schnitzel should be and not these fried ready-made schnitzels. The dessert also blew us away - incredibly delicious ice cream. And what I thought was really great: the chef came to the table and asked whether everything was to our satisfaction. All dishes are made with regional and organic products and the prices are at a normal level. We'll definitely be back!

We had our birthday dinner in this small, cozy restaurant this evening. Feels a bit like coming into a living room from before... Food: very tasty and visually very attractively presented. Very hospitable economy with very tasty dishes. Whether pumpkin soup, goat cheese, schnitzel or rump steak, everything was very well prepared and the portions were very generous. The journey is worth it. There is a selection of games for children.

I never normally write a review but this restaurant more than deserves it. Everything really fits here! The boss and his waiters are super nice, do an absolutely great job and our requests for changes were taken into account and a few other alternatives were also offered, so total flexibility! There is also a wide range of toys available for children, so they are usually kept busy. The food was outstanding, it was definitely the best beef roulades I have ever eaten and any Italian can also get their hands on the beef carpaccio! The schnitzel, the goat cheese as a starter, the salad and the meal for our little daughter were, how could it be otherwise, really perfect! Since we were just passing through, we discovered this restaurant by chance. One thing is certain, however, if we are to travel in the region again, a visit is an absolute must for us! Hats off and big praise to the entire team.

The table with the children is the last to receive the food and the children are correspondingly excited and cry... it's a shame.

The Torfwerk restaurant is an absolute insider tip and a culinary experience that you shouldn't miss! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A chef with impressive experience Martin Preisinger, the owner and chef, learned his craft from the best - from the renowned "Hotel Post Kleber" in Bad Saulgau to international experiences in Spain, France and Switzerland. His passion for good food is reflected in every dish. Culinary variety for every taste The menu leaves nothing to be desired. From traditional Swabian dishes such as Maultaschen and Käsespätzle to international delicacies such as Argentinian sirloin of beef or porcini mushroom ravioli - everyone will find something to their taste here. The snack menu and the children's menu also offer a great selection. And for those with a sweet tooth, there are delicious desserts and a selection of cocktails and schnapps. A special highlight for me this evening: Swiss sausage salad The Swiss sausage salad is an absolute must! I have never tasted such a delicious sausage salad. But all the other dishes are just incredibly delicious! Excellent service even for larger groups We were there with a group of 28 people and were amazed at how quickly and efficiently we were served. The food came for everyone at the same time and was perfectly prepared. Price-performance ratio The prices are absolutely fair and appropriate for the quality of the food. You really get something for your money here. Conclusion The Torfwerk restaurant is a place where you feel completely at home. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is cozy. Definitely worth a visit! The service is very friendly and quick. The menu, which is not too overloaded, offers the most delicious dishes that actually exceeded my expectations in terms of appearance and taste! The chef and owner personally came to the table and introduced himself. He completed his training in one of the most renowned hotels in the district and worked abroad for several years. The restaurant offers upscale gastronomy without much fanfare at comparatively affordable prices. The beer is from Farny and the selection of wines is good. We will be happy to come back! A beautiful restaurant with very, very good seasonal food and the price-performance ratio is right.

Everything perfect! Celebrated our son's baptism here. Everyone absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere was super relaxed. Especially with children, as the owners also have children, there are toys for all ages on site and children are really welcome. Planning in advance was also super uncomplicated and flexible. I can warmly recommend staying with this lovely family.

Luckily we ended up here by chance. We had a very nice evening and were absolutely satisfied. The staff was very attentive, there was a very cozy and familiar atmosphere and very child-friendly (there were also books, art supplies, etc.) The food was excellent, special and lovingly prepared. The inn has been newly renovated and comfortably furnished. There was even a small shelf with toys and painting materials for our children. High quality and delicious food and also for vegetarians - the crispy thalers with coriander pesto were a dream. Plus friendly and good service. Conclusion: Super delicious food in a nice atmosphere - highly recommended!!! We'll be back soon!

The Torfwerk has had a new host family for five weeks and they have created a feel-good place where you can enjoy the food as well as the cozy ambience and the pleasant atmosphere. We recommend.

Das Wirtshaus am Torfwerk hat einen neuen Wirt bekommen. Die junge Familie schafft eine herzliche, ungezwungene Umgebung im traditionellen Wirtssaal. Kinder sind hier herzlich willkommen. Gut bürgerliches Essen wird auf hohem Niveau vom Wirt gekocht. Genuss fürs Auge und für den Gaumen. Wir kommen wieder z.B. im Sommer, da die Wirtschaft sogar über einen Biergarten draußen verfügt und direkt am Fahrradweg in der herrlich verwunschenen Torflandschaft rund um den Federsee liegt.

Super delicious food. Discovered by chance. Great and family friendly service. If we come to the area again from Cologne, we will definitely stop here. Had a Bretzel Schnitzel. I couldn't imagine anything wrong with it, but I'm really happy that I took this schnitzel. One of the best things I've eaten.

We loved our visit to this economy. The atmosphere was incredibly cozy and casual, perfect for a relaxing evening with family and friends. The cuisine was excellent, every dish was a delight. We particularly liked how child-friendly the economy is. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly to our children. We will definitely be back!

We ate at the newly opened Torfwerk restaurant several times and were thrilled in every way! You sit comfortably at great old wooden tables, everything has been lovingly restored and there is even a fireplace. You can easily come here with small children, there are books, art supplies and a special children's menu where even small special requests (e.g. spaetzle instead of fries with the schnitzel) are promptly fulfilled. What really blew us away was the food! The menu is relatively manageable, as everything is prepared freshly and incredibly tasty and also prepared with more care than we have ever experienced in a restaurant in this price category. There's only one thing that's stupid here: having to choose between the marinated boiled beef carpaccio, the ox cheeks in port wine sauce, the porcini mushroom dumplings and the excellent trout fillet! It sounds expensive and tastes like it, but it's not. (For example, we paid €10.80 for the marinated boiled beef and it was made from organic grass-fed beef!) We are already looking forward to our next visit to this feel-good place that is second to none. Many thanks to the new hosts!

Oh, what a beautiful place! When I got to know the owner's self-confidence 3 years ago, it was clear to me that he could do something. 3 years later I am sitting as a guest in his inn. Food down-to-earth, tasty and honest. Preisinger can do that. Absolute recommendation!

Thank you very much for the friendly welcome and the warm hospitality. We felt very comfortable and ate deliciously. Simple home-style cooking, what more could you want. It's a shame that this inn will only be there until September. We wish you good luck with the flea market sale and the landlord a wonderful retirement.
