Nice atmosphere, excellent service, value for money completely okay. Offering the lunch menu until 5 p.m. is smart. The food is good, home-style, and the pizzas also looked delicious. We were very satisfied and can happily recommend the restaurant.

Very nice, cozy restaurant. Rustic and nostalgic furnished and decorated. The decor changes seasonally, both inside and out. Dishes incredibly delicious. Whether it's the pizza variation, the homemade meatloaf or the fitness salad, it tastes really good and you'll be full too. Great value for money. Staff super nice and accommodating. I come here often and so far it remains my favorite on Schlossplatz.

Very nice restaurant with lovingly humorously designed seating on the market square in St. Wendel. Always good food, from the pizza to the salad, everything here is fresh and recommended. One of the top addresses in St. Wendel in summer, but you can also make yourself comfortable inside.

We had mussels with tomato sauce, fries and herb baguette. Also available with white wine or cognac sauce, an absolute recommendation. (Additional information is also available if necessary) These are currently available on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I wish you bon appetite. Service was top as usual.

The Cafe Journal is the place to stop in St. Wendel city center. Unusual dishes, seasonal specials in gudd Saarland, extremely nice staff, great ambience seasoned with funny cartoons from the daughter of the house - simply gudd.

We were there on Monday afternoon. The service was very good, courteous and friendly. Of the two dishes, everything was good, except for the schnitzel. Due to the hardness/strength, this must have been prepared at least 2 days before - a shame.

Eating well there for years... until today, Sunday 9/8/24 - a real disaster 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 - 2 x Apperol Spritz = nothing special / not a good mix - Pizza garlic = abnormal taste - Glass noodle salad with chicken = no taste at all - pizza bread gratinated = far from tasty... Ordered coffee = what came was filter coffee... Service was very hard - the chef (if that was a chef at all 😱) certainly not today - thank you, we won't be coming back 🙈🙉🙊

On the terrace, which was designed with love and imagination, we were treated to very good food. It wasn't just the usual dishes, but real culinary discoveries. Delicious In addition, the young ladies in service were extremely competent and very friendly. We had a nice moment.

The food was much better. Lettuce is already brown on the edges and partly wilted. Fries are fatty and anything but crispy. Staff is cheeky, the customer knows rightly because he was sitting at a table that hadn't been completely cleared away. Customer was served reluctantly. Embarrassingly, I overheard this impudence from the next table and felt embarrassed. In any case, I won't go there anymore. It's a shame, it's gone backwards, but there are still many very good restaurants in the area where you can get good food with friendly service.

It's very nice to sit here and there are a lot of places (both inside and outside). The food is always really tasty and the selection is good. The drinks menu also leaves almost nothing to be desired. The service is almost always friendly and courteous. The prices are reasonable and the portions will fill almost everyone. One of the things I can recommend in Restaurant Journal is the pizza, as it really tastes different than in other restaurants. There are always great new dishes on the special menus, which is why every visit is special. I can recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes to sit together with good food and good drinks.

Was there at lunchtime today. Nice atmosphere, excellent service. It didn't take very long for the food to arrive. I chose the pepper cream schnitzel with fries and salad. Overall, everything wasn't bad, but the salad (unfortunately like most people) wasn't mixed through before serving, the dressing was just on top and the pepper cream sauce was unfortunately a bit bland apart from the colorful peppercorns. But as I said: overall not bad.

Often other visitors come along, autograph cards are handed out🖋and everyone is happy. The Journal is well known, the ideal meeting place when I am in St. Wendel.👍

I was there on a Sunday for dinner and I have to say the food was very delicious. This was the best pizza I have ever eaten and the service was very nice, friendly and polite. Highly recommended 😀

Super cozy restaurant with several levels, lots of wood and a top price-performance ratio. There is actually something for every taste here. The portions are plentiful and the staff always tries to make the guest comfortable. Cutting pizza? No problem. An extra plate? Gladly. Pack something? Immediately. The prices are very fair and the ingredients are almost always fresh. Alone, as a couple or with friends - you should stop here.

We were here for pizza. The pizza base was crispy and the pizza itself had a lot of toppings, even too much for a pizza for my taste. Topped with very spicy cooked ham and salami, which I unfortunately resisted halfway through the pizza. " Sometimes less is more " ! Basically, I can of course recommend the pizza for those who “want more” 😉.

The food is always absolutely top. Schnitzel nice and crispy, fried potatoes well fried and the sauce nice and creamy. The conditions are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is beautifully furnished and offers a cozy atmosphere. It is always worth a visit.

Kudos to this perfect organization. Yesterday after the carnival parade it was packed, but we got a nice table straight away and were served very quickly. The service was very courteous and delicious too. Anytime and gladly again! Everything perfect!

Leider war die Pfeffersoße gestern Abend verdorben, roch schon modrig, und schmeckte auch dem Entsprechend wirklich nicht gut, er hatte ja scjon öfter dort ein Pfeffersteak gegessen. Das wirklich sehr nette Serviceteam kam auch und hat dann das komplette Gericht ausgetauscht, laut dem Koch lag es am Cognac in der Soße, mein Mann hatte bis heute mittag richtig im Magen. Alle anderen Gerichte waren OK. Werden aber wieder kommen, weil früher ja auch immer alles OK war.

Ausgezeichnetes Ambiente mit flottem und freundlichem Personal. Hervorragender Fitnesssalat, unbedingt zu empfehlen!

Kurz gesagt: Lieblingsrestaurant.

Déjeuner dans ce restaurant lors de notre venue pour le fameux marché de Noël, après recherches sur internet et trip advisor. Rapport qualité/quantité/prix imbattable ! Accueil et service au top ! Attention restaurant très connu et donc très fréquenté. Be prennent pas de réservation pendant le marché de Noël. A recommander sans hésiter 👍

Wir waren gestern zum dritten Mal dort, das erste mal unter neuer Leitung. Die Bedienung war freundlich, motiviert, die Getränke und das Essen kam sehr schnell. Leider war mein flammkuchen ein normaler pizzateig mit roten Zwiebeln... Das kenne ich so nicht und sollte überdacht werden. Der pizzateig schmeckte gut, passt aber nicht zu einem französischen flammkuchen. Die Pizza meines Mannes war geschmacklich minderwertig, daher nur drei Sterne.

Wunderbarer Ort zum Essen. Lecker Schnitzel. Große Portionen. Leider waren etwas wenige Pilze in der Soße.

Essen war soweit gut. Aber die Freundlichkeit...... Falsch. Wir waren mit 7 beeinträchtigen Personen und 2 ehrenamtlichen Betreuern da. Jeder müsste von seinem Taschengeld sein Essen selbst zahlen,damit er später im Büro die Rechnung vorzeigen konnte und das Wechselgeld. Jetzt war es dem feinen Chef zuviel....er wollte,das wir alles auf eine Rechnung packen, weil es zuviel Arbeit wäre, alles einzeln abzurechnen. Wir könnten ja dankbar sein, dass er der einzige im Umkreis wäre, der eine Behindertentoilette hat. Also sowas unverschämtes hat man lange nicht mehr gesehen.Wir würden ihm die Kunden vergraulen. Aber Geld kassieren ging dann. Also wenn man hier essen gehen möchte,dann nur zu zweit. Nicht mehr, oder einer zahlt für alle. Der "Chef" ist sonst überfordert. Wir kommen definitiv nicht mehr. Und ich werde das auch an meine Bekannten weiterleiten. Das wars dann

Bis auf die Kartoffeln?! Die waren leider nicht vorhanden! Ich war schon des Öfteren in Ihrem Restaurant: Bis dato waren immer Süßkartoffeln dabei. Diesmal nicht🤔

Ich war letzten Freitag ein Parmesanschnitzel essen. Alles top bis ich in der Bolognesesosse Burger Paddy Stücken fand. Der Service reagierte sehr freundlich und sagte dass die von der Karte genommenen Hamburger verarbeitet wurden. Ein absolutes No Go. 2x besucht= Das erste und letzte Mal.
