Discovered a great restaurant and immediately became a repeat visitor!

Spacious inn with tradition. Food and service exemplary! Gladly again.

We went to dinner with friends from Cologne and everything was outstanding.👍🏼

The food was just ok, we had a large table of 14 people and half of us didn't finish our food because it didn't taste good. The meat was poorly seasoned or not seasoned at all, and some steaks were unsuitable for eating. The service also leaves you wanting more. It would definitely have been more pleasant without the inappropriate looks and questionable facial expressions. 4/10 not sure if I will eat there again. Too bad.

It's been a while since we've been back to the Wilkens tavern and we were looking forward to a nice, relaxed dinner. Unfortunately, we experienced the following: - We just came in and stood around for a few minutes because no one noticed us and we didn't see anyone we could have spoken to - At some point I started looking and found a lady at the counter who said, quite stressed, “talk to me” - I shared my request and went back. Shortly afterwards she came up to us and led us into an adjoining room to a table for two people against a wall, quite isolated from the rest of the bar (and the table top of this table wobbled). - The waitress brought us two clipboards (which still had food residue and sticky stains on them, the sheets were partially stained and broken) as menu cards and picked up the drinks - When she came back with the drinks, we were surprised at the Fanta, which looked like a urine sample and had little to do with a Fanta in terms of taste. We asked the waitress about the Fanta and she replied that it was a Fanta from the vending machine and that it was always like that. But you can bring a Fanta from the bottle. Interesting. - Then the waitress was ready to take the food and made this clear again. She doesn't have time and she wants to take our order before the big table. No sooner said than done. - Shortly afterwards the highly advertised Willkens bread basket (for 2 people) (€5.90) ​​arrived including two dips, to which we ordered a third dip. The bread basket was everything but for two people. In other restaurants, this is called a greeting from the kitchen. So now we had dips with bread. - About an hour later, the chef personally brought us our food. Really very nice, friendly, accommodating. We would be happy to see more of this at Wilkens. - The dishes ordered were the homemade savoy cabbage roulade (€19.80) and red deer and fallow deer goulash (€26.90) - Unfortunately, the top of the savoy cabbage roulade was burnt, the minced meat was rolled up in savoy cabbage, but there could have been a little more leaves, there were still half and quarter potatoes in the mashed potatoes, and overall there was some salt missing. Maybe think again about why the savoy cabbage roulade is more expensive than a schnitzel with fries and salad. - The deer and fallow deer goulash was unfortunately a bit over-seasoned overall, the description “with fresh mushrooms, root vegetables and cranberries on buttered spaetzle” unfortunately did not immediately indicate that the fresh mushrooms, root vegetables and cranberries were in the goulash . I was expecting these on the plate next to the goulash. - During our stay we were not asked whether we would like something to drink or whether it was tasty. There was also no reference to the daily menu, which was not visible to us and written on a board. Finally, I noticed that there was something at the bottom of my beer glass that had nothing to do with food or drink. - Yes, we were open and in good spirits, not prejudiced but hungry. All in all, however, it didn't convince us. Therefore we probably won't come back again.

Although it's an attempt to become much more modern and of higher quality, it's actually just average. Not really anything special, there are much better options. But probably ok for Sindorf. You don't have to have it again

Stayed with 6 people. to eat goose in the tavern. Was a great evening. Absolute recommendation. Thanks to the lady from the service (counter) and to the kitchen.

+ delicious food - bad service, waited 30 minutes just to order drinks, then another 30 minutes to order food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is not cozy. The prices are unreasonably high. But the bar is very good, with friendly waiters.

Nicely laid out restaurant with friendly service staff. Unfortunately, right at the beginning of the meal, you notice that the bread basket, which is offered free of charge as a welcome in most restaurants in this price category, is charged quite expensively for two people each. Otherwise, the portions are a bit small, which reduces the price/performance ratio. For example, my Jägerschnitzel was served with a schnapps glass of sauce that contained exactly 1.5 halved mushrooms... The taste was fine, but for the price there is certainly room for improvement. The seven of us had dinner with the family.

Delicious, my pumpkin soup was amazing. It came with one shrimp roll, which was yummy. We got the lunch special, which was the white sausages with salad and pretzel. Great portion and tasted amazing. I will surely be back. Update: Unfortunately, after I posted, we went back for lunch, and I must say that service was non-existent. I know service here in Europe is not like in North America, and tip culture is not the norm, but I feel almost invincible with the way we were treated. I hope they can do better. Im sad that I have to downgrade the service to 1 star from 4 stars.

Long-time regular guest at Wilkens – like a second family I have been a regular guest at Wilkens for two years, staying there almost every week and enjoying dinner in the restaurant. The quality of the food and service are always excellent. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly atmosphere, which feels like a second family. Just yesterday I enjoyed a wonderful cream of asparagus soup and a fresh salad with chicken, accompanied by a great Lugana. I can fully recommend this hotel and restaurant and look forward to many more visits. Stefan Beyler

Here you can only eat fries and schnitzel. Everything else is warmed up convenience food. There were times in Wilkens when people still cooked properly. The Aperol didn't taste good either.

I found it a very nice location with the option to stay overnight, price performance was okay, the only thing I have to complain about was that unfortunately my TV didn't work.

Ich kenne das Restaurant seit über 20 Jahren. Ich wollte einem alten Freund eine Freude machen. Wir bestellten bei geringer Geschäftsauslastung einmal Jägerschnitzel mit Pommes und Gemüse und einmal Wiener Schnitzel mit Beilagen. Das Jägerschnitzel war relativ trocken, die Panade auf einer Seite matschig. Der Pilzrahm schmeckte weder nach Pilzen noch nach Rahm und war leicht säuerlich. Die Mayonnaise wurde zunächst vergessen, leider auch die Nachbestellung. Das Wiener Schnitzel war Convenience mit extrem trockener ungewürzter Panade. Als Gesamturteil kann ich nur sagen, erschreckend! Mein alter Freund (87 Jahre) hat die Verwaltung der Immobilie Jahrzehnte betreut, und ist entsetzt über die Qualität der Speisen. Man bot uns als "Entschädigung" einen Espresso an, den wir ablehnten. Die Rechnung wurde seitens des Restaurants nicht gekürzt. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert. P.S. Ich war vor über 20 Jahren häufig mit der Allianz Gast in diesem Haus, damals stimmte die Qualität.

Das Essen war sehr gut,aber die Bedienung nicht so gut ,könnten etwas freundlicher sein.! Die Bedienung kam sehr unfreundlich rüber....

Ich durfte hier einen sehr schönen Geburtstag feiern mit ganz tollen und lieben Menschen. Von der Planung bis zum Gelingen, alles mehr als perfekt,-besonders die lieben Menschen im Service incl. For 140 euros a night we got a room that was really old. Then the toilet flush was broken and the water kept running...a bit of a shame for a 4 star hotel. Food or breakfast and service was great.

I'm actually a fan of Haus Wilkens. Last week we were there with several people. The service was okay so far. But I have also felt more relaxed or more friendly. But it didn't hurt things. Unfortunately, what I was disappointed with was the schnitzel. Once totally delicious, now quite small and extremely greasy (fat film on the plate). It's a shame actually. :( The Caesar salad looked great and tasted okay. The only optimization that could be made is the salad itself: freshly washed - great! - but so moist that the dressing barely stuck or was barely visible.

Wir waren am Anfang dieser Woche zu Gast im Haus Wilkens. Wir wurden super Nett vom Serviceteam bedient und haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war lecker und die Getränke schön angerichtet. Auf einmal stürmte wie aus dem nichts ein Mann ins Lokal und schrie wie am Spieß das gesamte Servicepersonal in einer Lautstärke an das wir uns richtig erschrocken haben. Es stellte sich raus das es anscheinend der Chef war. Ich habe noch nie erlebt das jemand mit seinem Personal so respektlos umgeht. Wir und sämtliche Tische im Innenbereich waren schockiert und schauten uns nur sprachlos an. Die Stimmung ist komplett gekippt. Ich hoffe das es nur eine einmalige Sache war ansonsten tut mir das Personal wirklich leid. Dem Chef kann ich nur ein Seminar für Führungskräfte empfehlen oder einen Therapeuten um seine Aggressionen in den griff zu bekommen. Wenn irgend etwas in einem Betrieb falsch läuft nimmt man die Person mal zur Seite und redet ruhig mit der Person und schreit sie nicht vor versammelter Mannschaft an. Erst recht nicht vor Gästen die einen entspannten Abend genießen wollen. Wir waren zum letzten mal in diesem Laden. Schade um das gute Essen und den guten Service aber so ein Fehlverhalten unterstützen wir nicht.

It was a successful wedding celebration from start to finish. The room upstairs with a roof terrace was great for 55 people. The food was super tasty. The team works hand in hand and is simply great. We only have to deduct 1 star because there is always one person who has missed the job. Service lady with short blonde hair at the starter buffet was cheeky and impudent. A successful wedding thanks to the team. Be careful, read the general terms and conditions carefully, but what the boss is now doing is outrageous........as a guest at the party, I'm really angry......I would like to deduct three more stars 🌟. The only thing missing is a parking meter for guests. Very unfortunate

Very nice restaurant/pub. Absolutely courteous service, good food and a very tasteful decor. This applies to the restaurant, the outdoor area and also the bar area.

Conveniently located restaurant a few kilometers from the motorway. Easy to find and parking was possible in the somewhat hidden car park right next to the restaurant: well organised! Fast service and a menu with enough choices. The food was on the table quickly. Lovely seat in the conservatory with the sliding glass doors open.

Top address for Kerpen and the Rhein-Erft district in general. Ambiance: It has become very chic and modern and has not lost its comfort. A little too cool at the beginning of the evening. Please make sure that the guest is not constantly moving or standing at the stove. Clean. Service: Unfortunately, this can also be expanded. 2.5 out of 5. I judge this again from a technical perspective and compare it with the competitors. Again, appropriate for the average clientele. We paid around €150 for two people. What we got in return was absolutely fine. If the service had been more dedicated it would have been at least €200. Some wishes have later evaporated, lost their relevance or meaning. Kitchen: Rounded up to 5 because 4.5 doesn't work. Starters, main course great. Nicely prepared, hot soup not overly greasy, salad fresh, only dressing a little too sweet, steak meat on point and hardly seasoned. Salt and pepper mills available on the table. Nothing more is needed. There is criticism of the dessert, which I chose because of the cheese that was not offered. The variation was pretty boring. Two out of four components Based on chocolate, all based on fat and no distinction in texture. Something to bite would have been nice. In fact, the fruit garnish was the most refreshing. In any case, we will come back because there are many dishes that we would like to try with you. Ich hatte das Vergnügen, heute Abend bei Wilkens zu Gast zu sein, und ich bin absolut begeistert von dem gesamten Erlebnis. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants wurde ich herzlich empfangen und zu meinem Tisch begleitet. Der Service war von Anfang an erstklassig – das Personal war aufmerksam, freundlich und stets bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das Highlight des Abends war zweifellos das Essen. Ich entschied mich für den Ceasarsalat mit Hühnchen, und ich muss sagen, es war einer der besten, den ich je hatte. Das Hühnchen war perfekt gegrillt, saftig und zart, und der Salat war frisch und knackig. Die Kombination der Aromen war einfach himmlisch. Dazu wurde mir ein Lugana empfohlen, der sich als perfekte Wahl herausstellte. Der Wein war leicht, fruchtig und harmonierte wunderbar mit dem Salat. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war angenehm und einladend, mit einer stilvollen Einrichtung und einer entspannten Stimmung. Es war der ideale Ort, um einen schönen Abend zu verbringen und sich kulinarisch verwöhnen zu lassen. Ich kann Wilkens jedem wärmstens empfehlen, der auf der Suche nach einem großartigen kulinarischen Erlebnis ist. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team für den wunderbaren Abend und den hervorragenden Service. Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

Everything tidy, clean room, good food. Friendly staff.

We were looking forward to a delicious dinner but were bitterly disappointed. The starter, salmon tartare, was accompanied by such a tough hash brown that I couldn't eat at all, the main course, osso buco, was almost as tough as the hash brown, plus unappetizing warmed boiled potatoes! The whole thing was prepared carelessly! The first and last time!!

A really great restaurant and hotel. Very child-friendly and with star cuisine. I think it's really cool that they serve such great, visually perfect dishes and still have Cirrywurst with fries on the menu. We came here spontaneously with friends and children and were thrilled. All questions were answered nicely and highly recommended.

A very nice restaurant with very good food and very attentive, not intrusive service. The restaurant has its own parking lot behind the house, but it is not signposted. Neither does the entrance. You can also park on the street in front of the house but please don't forget your parking disc (2 hours).

Langjähriger Stammgast im Wilkens – Wie eine zweite Familie Seit zwei Jahren bin ich regelmäßiger Gast im Wilkens, übernachte fast jede Woche dort und genieße das Abendessen im Restaurant. Die Qualität des Essens und der Service sind stets ausgezeichnet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die freundliche Atmosphäre, die sich wie eine zweite Familie anfühlt. Erst gestern genoss ich eine herrliche Spargelcremesuppe und einen frischen Salat mit Hühnchen, begleitet von einem tollen Lugana. Ich kann dieses Hotel und Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen und freue mich auf viele weitere Besuche. Stefan Beyler

Steak cooked twice not medium rare. Had to be returned. The request not to mix the salad with sugary dressing but only oil and vinegar was not complied with. Otherwise nice restaurant. Nice personel.

I was amazed at how well this restaurant has stood the test of time. I hadn't been here for a long time and found that it is still a very good restaurant. Now I won't wait so long until my next visit.

Basil pesto was amazing! I also really enjoyed my schnitzel. At the beginning there was no waiter and the table with special food was only shown to us later, which was a bit of a shame. Otherwise a very nice restaurant and very cozy.

It is a very modern restaurant and I and the other visitors in my group really enjoyed the food. The food was nicely presented and the prices quoted were also absolutely reasonable. We were there for hours and were well served the entire time. It was a pure thing.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant mit gutem Essen zu fairen Preisen.

Ich war das erste Mal in diesem Lokal. Es war sehr-sehr voll, alle Tische waren besetzt, aber vielleicht hängt es auch mit der Jahreszeit (Weihnachtszeit) zusammen. Da der Raum voll besetzt war, war es dementsprechend ziemlich laut. Ich möchte ganz besonders das Service und den Kellner, der unseren Tisch betreute, hervorheben. Sehr aufmerksam, freundlich, mit Humor und guter Laune - einfach nur Klasse!!! Das Essen hat auch sehr lecker geschmeckt. Preise würde ich eher als gehoben bezeichnen. Alles in allem - ein sehr schöner gelungener Abend!

Wir haben hier wirklich super gegessen. Allerdings hat es an unserem Tisch im Wintergarten sehr gezogen, so dass wir uns die Felldecken von den freien Plätzen über die Beine gelegt haben. Ich bevorzuge in der kalten Jahreszeit eher das "alte" Lokal und sitze nicht gerne im "Gastwerk", da es dort immer irgendwie zieht. Preise sind hoch, aber angemessen.

Wir waren letzten Samstag (18.11.) zum Geburtstag eingeladen. Eine Tischreservierung für 8 Personen erfolgte vor einigen Wochen. Uns wurde ein reservierten Tisch zugewiesen an dem aber max. 6 Personen Platz hätten; somit mussten 2 Personen am Kopfende Platz nehmen. Bei Getränken O.K. aber als das Essen nach ca. 2 Stunden kam gab es Probleme mit unserem Platz. Leider musste dann auch aus Platzgründen das Essen über unsere Köpfe gereicht werden. Das geht meines Erachtens gar nicht. Wir stellten dann noch fest, das in unserer Nähe ein Tisch mit 2 Personen besetzt war, wo locker 8-10 Personen Platz gehabt hätten. Das Essen war gut und "Übersichtlich". Kommen nicht wieder !!!

Sehr gute Qualität und freundliche Bedienung TOP

Wir haben dort im Familienkreis eine Gans gegessen. Sie wurde am Tisch filettiert. Das ganze war schon ein Erlebnis. Und unser Kellner, ein zuvorkommender und vor allem lustiger und hilfsbereiter junger Mann rundete dieses Erlebnis ab. Man bekam Rotkohl und Klösse und eine Sosse dabei, dieses konnte man auch nachbestellen so oft man wollte. Alles war soooo lecker und wir haben auch nicht lange auf das Essen warten müssen( Die Gans war vorbestellt). Eine Flasche Rotwein rundete das Essen ab. Ebenso lecker und auch schon vom Ansehen her toll sind die hausgemachten Getränke. Die Preise sind alle im Rahmen und das Essen war hervorragend. Es war ein rundum schöner Abend.

Waren zum ersten Mal dort und würden sehr positiv überrascht. Der Service war trotz sehr hohem Arbeitsaufkommen sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Und auch das Essen war von hoher Qualität und sehr gut und lecker zubereitet. Es war sicher nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir dort zu einem gepflegten Essen eingekehrt sind.

Wahnsinnig lecker, tolles Ambiente und super Service! Wir fühlen uns jedes Mal pudelwohl. Eine absolute Empfehlung:)

Leckeres Essen, hübsch angerichtet, zum ersten Mal dort gewesen. Tolle Vorspeise, zum Hauptgericht waren die Champignons leider aus der Dose. Ansonsten alles supi.

Es war eine Familienfeier Ablauf sehr gut Essen auch Bedienung war sehr beschäftigt daher musste man manchmal etwas länger warten um ein Getränk zu bestellen Aber alles in allem Spitze

Im Zuge einer Familienfeier dort zu Mittag gegessen und auf der ganzen Linie begeistert. Der Service ist super freundlich, das Ambiente perfekt, gemütlich und nicht zu laut und die Luft war spitze, obwohl es draußen drückend warm war. Das Essen kam angenehm schnell und war einmalig gut und auch für den großen Hunger ausreichend. Wir sind rundum zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder, Danke für den schönen Tag
