We went to Hendl & Glut today and were completely satisfied. We came all the way from Dortmund and it was worth it. One plate almost filled us both up, and they even gave us dessert on the house. This was my first time at Hendl & Glut and I was pleasantly surprised. The food came quickly, was fresh, and tasted really good. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, the skin crispy, just as you'd expect. The side dishes were also excellent; I especially recommend the potato wedges. The shop is clean, has a modern interior, and you can tell they care about quality. The staff were friendly and handled everything calmly and attentively, even when it was busy. It's definitely good value for money; you get a decent portion for your money. Overall, a straightforward, delicious place for a good meal in the city center; I'll definitely be back.

The food tastes great, their own BBQ sauce is amazing. Overall, it's really good, but I think the prices are a bit high. Unfortunately, the hot sauce I got really tasted bad. The spiciness wasn't the problem; the taste wasn't good at all. I'd try a different recipe; it's no good.

A fantastic restaurant. The service was fast, super friendly, and attentive. The food was truly delicious. We had the Cordon Bleu and the XL chicken platter. Both were beautifully prepared and very tasty. There was even a small complimentary dessert. We couldn't pass up the apple strudel... it was amazing. A must-try! Absolutely recommended.

Hendl und Glut, formerly known as Wienerwald, is a restaurant located on Stephansplatz in the Südstadt district. I ate there often back in the Wienerwald days and can highly recommend the place. I ordered a crispy burger for €7.95 and the chicken combo, which is half a chicken with fries, for €11.50. The fries aren't shown in the attached photo, but they delivered an extraordinary number. I think the price for the burger is absolutely top-notch. It also tasted delicious. The chicken combo is also absolutely normal. From previous experience, I know that the experience in the shop is very relaxed and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend the shop to anyone looking for value for money. In total, I only waited 15 minutes for the food. Ordering online is also highly recommended. Visiting as a group is also very pleasant. The restrooms are clean.

The best chicken in town and the fastest delivery service in town. My food always arrives in under 20 minutes, usually between 10 and 15 minutes. It's incredible how they manage it. I was just there just now, and it took 11 minutes, and the food was nice and warm. Respect for how they manage it!

The reality? Quite tasty, but more of a solid snack food than a flavor explosion. I had the mixed plate with half a chicken, BBQ wings, chicken pops, and a chicken breast fillet. The latter, unfortunately, had a distinctly frozen flavor. A bit crunchy and rubbery. The half chicken could also have used a bit more crunch on the skin; instead of golden brown and crispy, it was rather... let's say, sloppily cooked in places. The meat, however, was great. The sweet potato fries were good and did their job as a side dish with ease. But what really sticks in your memory: the service. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and pleasantly professional. You don't experience such a warm welcome everywhere, and it definitely elevates the visit to a higher level. Conclusion: If you want to eat solid chicken in a relaxed atmosphere, Hendl & Glut is the place to go. It's not exactly a culinary highlight, but the service is passionate about their job – and that makes a difference.

The addition of what was probably cooking fat/oil from the chicken to the potato salad gave it a very strong flavor—almost a little too strong. So I found something new for myself! I received great service from the start. I ordered a breaded schnitzel with fries and a small salad! The specially requested sauce [pepper cream] was also ordered without any problems! The whole meal was perfect for me and since I also value the fact that it was poultry, it was even nicer! Unfortunately, the Gutsherrentopf was completely over-seasoned and the chicken strips were almost black. The fries were also just dry. So almost €20 for inedible food. Definitely not again

They used to be good but now never again, I ordered hendle and country patatos like always, hendl tasted very strange and the potatoes were disgusting, you could tell they used old used oil. Nevertheless, I thought there were slip-ups everywhere. I ordered again after a few days and exactly the same thing again. Never again.

It wasn't bad. The IG influencers have once again banally raised the bar. When it came to the mixed starter salad, I wasn't sure whether it was fresh or from a package. The taste of the salad and dressing was average. When asked for a recommendation for the main course, it was said that it was "a matter of taste", but at least she explicitly listed the ingredients for one dish. This helped a little. Otherwise, the service is attentive, very nice, greets you politely and is flexible when it comes to special requests. It turned out to be herb chicken with fries. The fries were really perfect. Can't say anything against it. Perfect consistency, not too much/too little seasoned and very potato-y. The Hendl&Glut The barbecue sauce was very fruity and hardly smoky. But it was okay. There was also a little bit of coleslaw with the chicken, but it had a little bit of pepper on it. Unfortunately, the breading wasn't the best itself was indeed tender but rather bland and rather drier. If you specifically use injections, you can make the inside nice and juicy. The 8 herbs of the chicken were present in terms of taste, but I had the feeling that if I had melted herb butter directly myself, the taste would be more convincing. Nice concept here, which really gets the hype going, but it wasn't mindblowing. The ambience is nice with the wooden theme but also had a bit of a waiting room atmosphere. Can I recommend it? Yes. Will it blow your socks off? No. There are no 0.5 alternatives for drinks, which would be nice with hearty food. However, there is still a plus point for the prices. Price-performance is presentable. The older clientele seems to really like it here.

So after the third time in this restaurant it is now time for a review. It is by far the best chicken I have eaten in Germany. The meat was juicy and tender. Everything was well cooked and yet so good! Even the chicken breast was as soft as the thigh. The fries were perfect, you could taste that they were fried with fresh oil. The prices were absolutely humane and the service was top! A true gem this store. Suggestion for improvement: If there was even a small play area, then I would come with the children more often :)

Ordered from Hendl & Glut via Wolt. The order arrived 40 minutes later than stated, which is still manageable since today is New Year's Day. Unfortunately, the chicken schnitzels taste so bad... stale and a totally unappetizing aftertaste. As if yesterday's schnitzels were warmed up. Breading also soft and cold - that's a disgrace for the price of €18 without side dishes for 2 schnitzels. Therefore I cannot recommend it. I wouldn't order or eat there anymore
