Wir waren gestern im Rahmen einer Familienfeier mit 23 Personen dort und alles hat super geklappt. Sehr freundlich und schnell. Sehr leckeres Essen. Gerne wieder.

Wir haben von meinem Sohn am 10.5.26 die Konfirmation in der Westfalenschänke gefeiert, habe meine Deko für die Feier 1 Tag vorher hingebraxht und erklärt wie ich mir alles vorstelle und es wurde perfekt umgesetzt. Der Tag war für und uns meinem Sohn ein Traum und das Essen war einfach nur spitze, wir und auch die Gäste die wir hatten kommen alle wieder! Die Mitarbeiter sehr zuvirkommend alles war zur vollsten zufriedenheit 😊 Macht weiter so, wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder! Liebe Grüße Familie Woldach 😋😊

Das Essen hat unsere Erwartungen sogar übertroffen – alles war frisch, geschmackvoll und liebevoll angerichtet. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Qualität der Zutaten und die perfekte Zubereitung. Auch die Wartezeit war angenehm kurz, und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut gerechtfertigt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen!

Wir haben am Schloß Heeßen Störche fotografiert und sin d zwischendurch zum Mittagessen in der Westfalenschänke gewesen. Bei herrlichem Wetter haben wir die deftige und reichliche Mahlzeit genossen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Toilette auf den neuesten Stand und sehr sauber. Beim nächsten Storchenbesuch möchten wir wieder dort einkehren.

Waren heute mit 8 Personen dort (4 Erwachsene, 4 Kinder) und saßen im tollen Außenbereich in einer der Naturstammhütten. Sehr leckeres Essen, sehr schneller Service, tolles Ambiente.

Einziger Minuspunkt: kein Brinkhoffs am Hahn.. Ansonsten hat sich die Westfalenschänke nach der Übernahme von Darko echt gut gemacht! Freundlicher Empfang..gutes Essen..wir kegeln dort gern! Beste Grüße Die Thulis

Sehr urige und schöne Wirtschaft, nicht weit vom Stadion entfernt und ideal für einen „Fan-Plausch“ bei gutem Bier vor oder nach dem Spiel. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam.

Es war ein sehr schöner Tag heute in der Westfalen Schänke mit unseren Eltern/Schwiegereltern es war sooo lecker und sehr gemütlich das Personal war sehr nett immer wieder gerne 👌👍🎉🥰

Eine sehr umfangreiche Speisekarte, man kann sich kaum entscheiden. Das Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln war sehr gut und seinen Preis wert. Die Stühle sind sehr bequem und wir sind direkt auf ein Bier länger sitzen geblieben. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und flott unterwegs. Das Essen kam relativ schnell.

Waren gerade dort zum Essen. Kurz vorher angerufen und sofort gesagt, kein Problem zu zweit. Schöne alte Gaststätte mit netter weihnachtlicher Deko. Man hatte uns den Tisch gezeigt. Kurz danach kam der erste Kellner, brachte uns die Speisekarte und nahm die Getränke auf. Platte für 2 Personen bestellt. Super tolles Fleisch, geile Pommes und auch die weiteren Beilagen super. Salatbuffet gehört dazu, dort aber noch ein wenig ausbaufähig. Gute Portion zu einem ordentlichen Preis. Sehr nette Bedienungen. Essen kam recht zügig, obwohl das Lokal komplett voll war. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis.

My wife and I went to the Westfalenschänke Heessen today. Our drink orders were taken in record time, even before we were seated. The cards arrived promptly at the table, and shortly after, the drinks arrived. Since we quickly decided on two mixed grills, the waiter took our orders right away. Then the waiting began. In the meantime, my wife got two salads from the buffet, which was already very empty by 6:30 p.m. At some point, we asked ourselves, "Why is the guest behind us, who arrived later than us, already getting their food?" When another table got their food, which arrived even later than us, we asked. Oh, my colleague forgot. My beer had already been empty for some time. And even though I put the empty glass right at the edge of the table, none of the waiters asked if I wanted another drink. Then the mixed grills arrived, delivered by a kitchen employee who wasn't responsible for drinks. The food was okay, but nothing special. I know of better restaurants in Hamm. After I shouted to the waiter that I wanted to pay, he asked if we were satisfied with the meal. I explained that the food was okay, but the service was terrible. He seemed surprised but agreed that it was probably impossible to wait over an hour in a beer garden for a second beer. A proper apology, however, was never forthcoming. This isn't going anywhere! You won't see me again!!!

A great tip in Hamm! Today was my very first visit to the "Westfalenschänke" in Hamm-Heessen, and I have to say, I'm absolutely thrilled. You can immediately tell that a lot of heart and soul go into the food here. The food absolutely won me over. I had the grilled platter, and it was not only incredibly delicious, but also very generously portioned; you'll definitely be full! The restaurant itself is a real eye-catcher. As a half-timbered house, it simply has this rustic, cozy charm. Everything is superbly maintained and clean. And even though we sat inside, I was totally impressed by the beer garden outside. It's completely redesigned, immaculately maintained, and those little covered seating alcoves/log cabins are a brilliant idea. Special praise goes to the restrooms. They are ultra-modern, spotlessly clean, and simply demonstrate the investment in quality here. We were completely satisfied and will definitely be back. Verdict: Five out of five stars, absolutely deserved! 👍🏼

We wanted to have a nice meal there today for my birthday. Unfortunately, at 5:15 p.m., the doors were closed. Unfortunately, there's no information online or on the notice board. Therefore, I can only comment on the view of the beer garden. We were very disappointed all around.

I recently ate there. Too expensive. I paid over 20 euros for a Bambi and a large Coke. Oh, and the extra paprika sauce.

Unfortunately, I can only rate the customer service today and that is unfortunately poor. We tried to reserve a table by phone today, but the number given online was unavailable. There was no note on the Facebook page as to whether the restaurant was closed for vacation or something similar, so we went there on a whim. The place was quite full and when we asked for a table for two we were told "7.30pm" wasn't possible as the kitchen was closing soon. When we asked why, as the website says the kitchen is open until 9pm, we were told "We're having holiday holidays starting tomorrow, so we're closing earlier today"... that's poor service. If you're going to close early, you should keep your Facebook page up to date and definitely be available by phone! After all, the restaurant is still open today.

Good evening, I was just eating with my family at the Westfalenschänke in Heessen. We got a table for 5 people without any problems. We ordered 4 large Cokes and 1 beer, which cost €5 per person. It's pretty steep, but then it all came. We ordered food. It took quite a while, I'd say about 40-45 minutes. Our order was a cold starter of tzatziki with bread, a pork medallion with broccoli and hollandais sauce with fries, a warm starter of grilled feta cheese with grilled tomatoes, a schnitzel with pepper sauce and fried potatoes, a Hungarian paprika schnitzel with fried potatoes, and I ordered a rum steak with mushrooms and croquettes. After a while the waiter came and told the people who had ordered schnitzel that they could no longer prepare any more schnitzels. He explained that there had been too many guests. They agreed to take the schnitzel without breadcrumbs. With my steak the waiter didn't even ask how cooked I wanted it... in which case it would be medium... well, the food came, instead of a whole schnitzel we got a split 1/2 schnitzel, the cut edge was impossible to miss, my son's schnitzel was as small as a child's portion. My son's girlfriend got 3 medallions and some fries with 3 broccoli florets. The tzatziki appetizer with bread was also a laugh: 3 small slices of baguette and a tiny bowl of tzatziki, something for a toothache. My steak wasn't 200g, max 120g, and 6 croquettes and maybe 4 chopped mushrooms that you had to search for, but the price was worth it. The steak cost €29.50. We were looking forward to eating there. We were there last summer. It was really great value for money. The staff was super nice back then. Today, I find the prices for the service, and the careless presentation on the plates, completely excessive for so little food. The staff weren't exactly friendly either. We won't be coming back, especially since they didn't lower the price either, because of the unbreaded schnitzel. The food tasted okay, but not great. Outstandingly good. The steak was overcooked and therefore tough. I would have liked to recommend it, but not like this. We were there today, July 13th, at 7:30 p.m. with five people. The whole meal cost us €140, which is extortionate for half portions. The price is not justified.

The asparagus was delicious, but unfortunately the salads on display weren't that great, and there wasn't much of a selection. The beer garden is beautiful, but the furniture inside needs to be reupholstered after decades.

My family and I just ate there and were thoroughly satisfied. The staff was very friendly, the beer garden outside was beautifully designed, and the food was absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back.

We were there with two couples. The atmosphere itself is great, the food tasted so-so... The service could be friendlier and more attentive. At times, we waited almost half an hour for a waiter so we could order a drink.

We went there with friends; the food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. The children also felt at home: The staff were warm and respectful in their interactions with them and arranged a table for us with a bit more space. Highly recommended!

Disappointing! We asked for an ashtray three times, and then we got one ourselves. Hand signals to order more drinks were ignored. So we ordered them at the counter. Salad is available from the buffet. Access is next to the restrooms. Small flies were circling the bowls. Yes, it was warm that day, but then you have to change the salad every now and then and/or cover it. What was absolutely unacceptable, though, was that there were three of us eating. I wasn't finished yet, but someone was already clearing the dishes and my still-unfinished salad bowl, lifting other people's plates over mine (meaning they were reaching over my plate), so I had to use my head to avoid them while eating. That's completely unacceptable! A mixed grill for €19.50 is seriously overpriced, even though the food was probably homemade and not off-the-shelf. It was missing seasoning. We didn't even dare ask about it. We probably wouldn't have gotten it until after we were finished anyway. Then I had two pieces of cartilage in my skewer that were so thick I almost felt sick. They must have noticed them while the food was being prepared! Overall, very disappointing. I spent €90 for three people for the evening and was just annoyed about it. That's not what a nice evening looks like to me. For us, it was a one-off. We can't recommend it, even though at least the outdoor area is nicely landscaped.

Potential. Unfortunately, the wait times are sometimes long. Nevertheless, this won't be the last time we're there. The ambiance outside is absolutely fantastic. However, the overview and flow still need to be improved. I'm optimistic, though.

The newly landscaped courtyard area is a great place to linger. We had a very good meal here. A platter for two. I haven't eaten such tender meat in a long time. Thanks again.

A home-style restaurant. Friendly staff, rustic decor, in keeping with the age of the establishment. The food is good, but don't expect anything spectacular.

The beer garden outside is really nice. We had reserved a wooden house for 5 people and were lucky with the weather☀️. Unfortunately, there were obviously still teething problems in the table organization in the new outdoor area. Unfortunately, no one came to the wooden houses on their own. Apparently many guests felt this way, including at the open tables. Several guests who came after us had already finished eating when we still didn't have a menu after an hour. We ended up talking to the staff at the outside counter, getting the cards and ordering drinks there, which of course wasn't a problem. We would recommend, especially for the many cycle tourists who often only want to take a short break, the possibility of ordering at the outside counter with payment there and a glass return point. We still sat there for 4 hours because it was so beautiful. However, we would also have had a coffee or eaten some ice cream. But we'd love to come back. The restaurant is recommended.

Visited 04/27/25, 7 people, around 6:30 p.m. In wooden hut. Summary: you can go, but you don't have to. The service(s): Friendly, broadly as expected. However: I ordered a dish and was immediately asked whether I really wanted it. When asked why the question was asked, they said: "I wouldn't eat it." WHAT? Oh well....... The dishes: Not ultimately convincing. Farmer's salad surprisingly few ingredients (e.g. no leaf lettuce), schnitzel was fried too dry and therefore tough, salmon noodles didn't taste "as you know it" (didn't like it). The rest overall average. Prices: ....are strongly attracted to the catering industry anyway. In my opinion, the prices here are about mid-range. Ambience: Nice outside area to linger. Cozy to have a drink with friends. (Interior area cannot be assessed here because it is not accessible).

Beautiful old half-timbered style restaurant. The service could be a little more attentive with drinks. When we arrived, terrible gangster rap was blasting out of a loudspeaker and ringing through the whole place. The food tastes delicious, the portion sizes combined with the prices charged are a disgrace. For a tomato/mozzarella starter with three small slices of bread, a tomato and a mozzarella you will be asked to pay 12 euros. Even if the taste and ambience are good, the prices are outrageous, which is why we won't be coming back.

We were there with 10 people and would love to come back. Everything was perfect, it was very full and yet everything was served at the same time. The ambience fits 💯% to the name, Westfalenschänke, and of course to the house. We felt very comfortable, the food was great and the staff tried very hard.

We have already been guests at the Westfalenschänke four times under the new management. Friendly welcome. Table requests will also be fulfilled if possible. Menu typical Balkanese cuisine. Quick intake of drinks and food. You don't have to wait long for the food. Every now and then I keep asking if everything is ok. Very attentive when ordering drinks. Overall very good service. Dishes are sufficient and very tasty. Here the food doesn't swim in fat. Salad buffet with a large selection. Prices are average. Price/performance is right. The star deduction is because you smell strongly of food after leaving the restaurant. Is it because of the ventilation? Beer garden is being rebuilt. Looks very comfortable. If the outside temperatures get warmer, we will take advantage of this offer. There is sometimes not enough parking space at the restaurant. Overall conclusion: recommended.

We had pepper cream schnitzel and entrecote, everything tasted very good. The salad from the salad bar was fresh and the dressing went well with it. A small note, more light at the salad bar would be good. Otherwise we felt very comfortable with a very tasty warm Julischka from the house at the end. Rustic smaller restaurant with delicious food. Menu is Croatian/Yugoslavian. Very nice, courteous staff. Priced in the midfield and reasonable for the quality you get. Portions are rather small. Disabled accessibility is clearly better. The toilet has a door that is too narrow for a wheelchair to enter. The aisles are narrow but manageable. The front entrance is not barrier-free!

The food has gotten better, but the waiting times for the food to come and to be asked what you want to drink are too long. Waited 1.5 hours for the food to come, but it was delicious.

Most of the food was convenience, that's how it went. Service was very friendly, but not particularly attentive. We were only asked once if we would like something more to drink; the remaining 6 times we had to specifically ask. What really bothered me: the clothes smelled strongly of food. I expect that in a chip shop, but not in a restaurant. Unfortunately not much has changed in the interior...

Yesterday we went to dinner in Westfalenschenkel. I have to say, despite the high number of guests, we felt very comfortable. The staff was friendly, nice and accommodating. They apologized several times that it was taking a little longer. Absolutely fine for us because they can't do more than work. We had a steak plate. I have to say, price performance is completely okay. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty. A compliment to the service and the kitchen. We'll definitely be back.

It's a shame, I really imagined my birthday would be nicer. Service was not satisfactory and it had no welcome culture, more of a check-in character, short and despite the new opening, obviously not interested in conversation or in recommending the house. The main course Campionsrahnschnitzel was not tasty, but you could eat it - the mushrooms in the sauce were raw, which I have never had served in many years of visiting restaurants. The guest room quickly became unpleasantly flooded with the smells of the kitchen. We ended the stay very quickly. Please urgently install an adequate ventilation system in the kitchen. Unfortunately we won't be coming back again.

Ate there today with 4 people. Rooms with old baking.. which wasn't bad. But the ventilation was a disaster, the dining room was full of smoke so that our clothes stank. The food was at the level of a chip shop.. Schnitzel was pre-baked and the mushrooms from the champion sauce were cold, the fries oversalted.Staff didn't change their faces..sad for a new opening..

Been there today. Beer garden designed quite nicely. Service not very fluent in German. The fact is that we definitely didn't get what we ordered. Both my husband and I expressly pointed out that we wanted the sauces for the schnitzel separately. " Sure no problem"... However, the schnitzels came drowned in the sauces...when we complained about this, the (now owner) stayed at the table until we embarrassedly accepted the food. I can still slap myself for it. There was no apology or offer of compensation from the boss. When we ordered the bill we asked: another schnapps?? No statement: on the house, or maybe a dessert as an apology... NOTHING - NADA... Apart from this impudence, we can say that the schnitzel itself was good, - but a bit dry, - sauces were probably more of a finished product, - salad was fresh and sufficient. Salad sauces as usual. We won't eat here again and definitely won't recommend this restaurant: such bottomless ignorance on the part of a restaurant operator is unparalleled...but definitely no guests!!!

We were there on a Sunday and the beer garden was well attended. The service was friendly and quickly brought us our first drinks. Unfortunately, as some reviews have already mentioned, we were disappointed by the food and the associated waiting time. The menu was very limited and as a vegetarian I unfortunately only had the classic “vegetable platter” for €14 to choose from. Unfortunately, I only got full because I also ordered fries. However, the steak that my friend ordered was good and, according to him, tasted good. We had to wait just over an hour, which was okay for us, but the guests who came after us waited almost 1.5 hours for their food. A table next to us ordered a dish with fries and was only told after 45 minutes of waiting that there were no more fries. (On a Sunday.) At the end we wanted to pay with a voucher from the restaurant (not the voucher book) and we were told that we should have said this beforehand. The waiter initially didn't want to accept the voucher because otherwise there would be "difficulties with the cash register". Only when I said that this was not legal was the voucher accepted. Due to this experience, we will unfortunately no longer be visiting the Westfalenschänke for the time being. However, the beer garden is really nice and the drinks (wine) tasted very good. The waiters were always friendly and tried to fulfill the guests' wishes.

Since it was very warm, we looked for a restaurant with a beer garden and found the Westfalenschranke on the internet. The beer garden is really well laid out and the food was just great. Everything freshly prepared and delicious. The schnitzels are also freshly prepared and fried in the pan. The service was very friendly. The 60 kilometers were really worth it and we'll be back ;-)

We "celebrated" our son's confirmation there on a Saturday, i.e. we ate there together after church. There were 16 of us and we asked in advance whether it was possible there. The restaurant also has a small room that can accommodate around 30 to 40 people. We were able to get exactly that and discussed the process and the dishes in a lovely preliminary conversation. We chose grilled platters with fries, rice and croquettes. Vegetables were of course also included, as were suitable sauces, ketchup and mayo. We were able to pack up what we didn't manage to do. Afterwards we ended the day with coffee and cake. I would also like to mention that the opening hours have been adjusted for us. From the total price I can say that it was absolutely fair and within reason. Really great value for money, we won't eat there for the last time. And can recommend the restaurant 100%.
