Deutlich überbewertetes Restaurant, preislich im oberen Segment angesiedelt, Wiener Schnitzel mit über 30 € war so etwas von lieblos zubereitet, das beste war der Salat dazu. Service war der einzige Lichtblick.

After waiting an hour (!!) for my ordered food, I gave up and paid for my drinks and left hungry. The waitress knew for over half an hour that I had been waiting forever because she informed me that my order would be served soon... but nothing happened for another half hour!

So when you arrive here, you immediately feel at home and at home. The interior is very rustic and the outdoor area is kept tidy and is even equipped with heat emitters. However, we didn't get a beer menu. 1 stone is still too nice.

We ordered cordon bleu and chicken breast with oven-roasted vegetables. Unfortunately the chicken breast was only 2 small medallions and the oven vegetables were frozen goods. Which was confirmed to us by the waitress when we asked. The Cordon Bleu was just OK for our taste. Conclusion: sobering, it tasted better.

So first of all, the food, and the beer anyway, are great. But 40 minutes until the first beer is on the table seems a bit too long to me. Place your order after 20 minutes and then wait another 20 minutes for the delicious beer that is. I've experienced better than that. I can understand this when it comes to food, as it is probably freshly cooked. I was about to leave again, but the appetite and hunger were greater. Both were lucky, the restaurant for the sales and I for the delicious food.

Always recommended. Hearty food and a large selection of Bohemian draft beer. Nothing works here without a reservation.

After we arrived in Zwickau my stomach was in the back of my knees and our plan to use the next best place to stop for a break worked perfectly. We had a good time sitting and eating in the beer garden with a view of the cathedral. The kitchen is open continuously from 11:30 a.m. We really liked the juicy fried chicken with crispy breading, cranberries, white cabbage salad and well-seasoned potato salad and for my loved one there was a fluffy and well-topped Pinsa Praha with tomato sauce, oven-baked vegetables, Beskydy cheese and spring onions. We were very positively surprised and were there again at lunchtime the following day. This time we had the Wenzel “Best Of” starter platter with two small corners of baked cheese, Topinka (roasted garlic bread), Karlsbader Taler (grater cake), dumpling fries, a colorful salad mix of cucumber, Schopski and white cabbage salad as well as tartar sauce and the Wenzel herb pancakes filled with herb sour cream, tomato, onions, Beskydy cheese and white cabbage salad, everything Also well done, only the fried components of the appetizer plate could have been significantly hotter. There are 7 other locations and given the opportunity we would stop at Wenzel again. I think the prices are still acceptable. On both days we met a very friendly and attentive service team. Recommended!

Despite asking why you booked a table, it was completely ignored. I had imagined my birthday meal differently. We were placed next to a loud class reunion or something like that. A conversation was not possible. The food was good but not hot Too bad

Nach unserer Ankunft in Zwickau hing mir der Magen in den Kniekehlen und unser Plan, die nächstbeste Einkehrmöglichkeit zu nutzen, hat bestens funktioniert. Wir haben im Biergarten mit Blick auf den Dom gut gesessen und gegessen, die Küche ist durchgehend ab 11:30 Uhr geöffnet. Sehr gut gefallen hat das saftige Backhendl mit krosser Panade, Preiselbeeren, Weißkrautsalat und gut abgeschmecktem Kartoffelsalat und für den Liebsten gab es eine fluffige sowie gut belegte Pinsa Praha mit Tomatensauce, Ofengemüse, Beskydenkäse und Lauchzwiebeln. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht und am Folgetag ebenfalls zur Mittagszeit nochmals vor Ort. Diesmal hatten wir die Wenzel „Best Of“ Vorspeisenplatte mit zwei kleinen Ecken gebackenem Käse, Topinka (geröstetes Knoblauchbrot), Karlsbader Taler (Reibekuchen), Knödelpommes, buntem Salatmix aus Gurken-, Schopski- und Weißkrautsalat sowie Tatarensauce und den Wenzel-Kräuter-Palatschinken gefüllt mit Kräutersauerrahm, Tomate, Zwiebeln, Beskydenkäse und Weißkrautsalat, alles ebenfalls gut gemacht, einzig die frittierten Komponenten der Vorspeisenplatte hätten deutlich heißer sein dürfen. Es gibt 7 weitere Standorte und bei Gelegenheit würden wir wieder beim Wenzel einkehren. Die Preise halte ich für noch akzeptabel. An beiden Tagen haben wir ein sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Serviceteam angetroffen. Empfehlenswert!

Had dinner there again and it was never a disappointment! Of course you should reserve in advance, otherwise it will be difficult to get a spot there spontaneously. Service, friendly and really nice to children too. The only drawback is that the prices are very high, which puts you off at first. The taste, however, makes up for everything. If you like drinking beer, you should take a look at the menu beforehand at €5.70 for a half liter. Otherwise top restaurant

This is the third time we have eaten in this great restaurant. Very friendly staff serve Bohemian dishes. A great ambience rounds off the visit.

After a long field service assignment, I was not disappointed. Whether rustic or burgers & schnitzel, the Czech plate appealed to me the most. The restaurant is right on Cathedral Square. Top service and the best Pilsner Urquell.

We were greeted by a very nice and warm service person and escorted to a free seat. When we looked at the map we realized that we were in the right place. A large selection of Czech beer as well as a varied selection of dishes with a Czech flair. We ordered the Wenzel burger and the smoked knuckle. Both were simply phenomenal. We will definitely come back again

Very, very good. We were in the town hall in Zwickau and picked you out in advance. Since I read Czech and found garlic soup on the menu, the decision was made. It was where I wanted to go. My companions all confirmed this; they thought it was very good. Service top, ambience top, food top What I have to say, as some have criticized, is that the prices are justified as everything has to be paid for, just as the quality has to be right.

If you like good food, friendly service and a rustic atmosphere, this is the place for you. Can only be recommended. There is even a menu with gluten-free dishes 👍

Nach dem Besuch im August Horch Museum waren wir zum Mittagessen in den Wenzel Prager Bierstuben, die es ja als "Kette" in einigen mitteldeutschen Städten (u. a. Halle, Leipzig Dresden und Magdeburg) gibt. Wir hatten den Mittagstisch, ich das Biergulasch mit Böhmischen Klößen. Wie gewohnt hat es sehr gut geschmeckt, die Preise sind immer noch vernünftig und die Bedienung ist umsichtig und freundlich. Hier kann man eigentlich nichts falsch machen.

We went to Wenzel for lunch today. We go to the restaurant often. As always, the food and service were great. What was unpleasant today was a loud argument that started from guests who came into the restaurant with dogs. The dogs sat in a cart and were pushed up to the table in such a way that the dogs' heads were already on the edge of the table, even though two women were having lunch at the same table. When the restaurant manager asked her to move the dogs a little further away from the table, the dog owner reacted loudly and aggressively. For hygiene reasons, it should go without saying that dogs should not sit at table level, especially if there are strangers sitting at the table. As always, we were very satisfied and always found the staff friendly and couldn't understand the dog owner's reaction.

I have never experienced a more unfriendly service who calls herself the boss. At no time - as you claim in the answer below - did we feed dogs at the table. We hadn't sat at the table for so long before the “boss” became rude. Please reconsider your slanderous answer!!

Experienced very unfriendly service live, who also referred to herself as the boss! Upon request, the first service person assigned me a table for two. When we were seated, we had to leave the table and go to the 2nd floor according to the boss's instructions. The friendly first service person then gave us a seat at the edge of a large table. Then the boss came again and argued with us because apparently one of our small dogs, which was tied up in a dog cart, was probably too close to the edge of the table. We immediately got up and left the restaurant and will never enter it again! Your answer is definitely not true and I certainly won't delete my feedback. They were rude twice within a minute and there was certainly no feeding of the dog! Please learn from this and don't blame us.

Quaint restaurant in the city center of Zwickau right next to the cathedral with delicious food and a selection of mainly Czech beers. I found the service good. The staff was friendly, but because it was busy it took a little longer to order. The food was delicious. However, you have to be careful if you are asked whether you would like red or white cabbage with the dish. This may cost more than expected. Price-performance is OK but not a bargain.

Great restaurant with a super cozy atmosphere. The menu is very diverse and the food was always delicious. A special compliment goes to the service staff. Despite the restaurant being full, everyone is totally on their toes, always courteous and friendly (despite the fact that some guests behave really poorly towards the staff, but only marginally). All in all, an absolute recommendation in Zwickau. We'll definitely be back.

Haben ein gemütliches Restaurant gesucht und dort gefunden. Wir waren sehr angenehm überrascht über das Ambiente. Eine sehr freundliche Bedienung und sehr schmackhaftes Essen machten unseren positiven Eindruck perfekt. Wir kommen gern wieder. We always enjoy coming here as a family. The staff is super friendly and the food comes quite quickly. No matter whether Wenzel burger, beer goulash or plamen, everything tastes excellent. But I can especially recommend the dumpling fries as a starter, best to share as they are very filling. The only small drawback was the grog, which was a bit thin. But the lemonades and various beers always taste very good. Reservations are almost always necessary if you come with more than two people as the place is very popular!

I've been to almost every Wenzel restaurant there is in Germany. For me, Zwickau is the most beautiful. The food is no different than in the others. But you feel comfortable... The staff was great on my evening.

Food could and should be hot. When I thought of Bohemian dumplings, I imagined something different than off-the-shelf dumplings with no inner values.
