If I could, I'd even give it more than 5 stars! I reserved a table for 6 p.m., and shortly after 7 p.m., we were already done, plump, full, and satisfied. The team is friendly and attentive. The food is amazing! Succulent meat, delicious sauces, and beautifully presented. A quaint restaurant with a lovely ambiance. And if you really want to enjoy beer, you can do it here. You rarely see so many varieties. You can park nearby in the underground garage under the Kornmarkt. Dear Wenzel team, please keep up the good work!

Unfortunately, the food didn't impress me. The chicken breast was so small, and the potatoes were salty. The grilled vegetables alone were very good. For a meal costing almost €20, I expect a bit more. My companions were satisfied with their meals, but charging €2.50 for just a scoop of ice cream is bordering on extortion. The ambiance is very good, but when it's busy, it's also very noisy due to the cramped space.

Wir kommen ganz gerne mal her! A bit overpriced but always delicious. Unfortunately there is no longer any Pilsner Urquell, but there are also other tasty beers. Outdoor area very inviting and yet quite quiet.

Our visit to Wenzel's was absolutely wonderful! Our waitress was incredibly friendly, courteous, and attentive! The three of us treated ourselves to a Czech tarte flambée with salmon and an appetizer plate filled with all sorts of delicious delicacies. We finished off with dumplings with apple sauce and vanilla sauce, and by then we were thoroughly satisfied! We arrived around 4 p.m. without a table reservation and were really lucky to get a seat. I think that speaks volumes about the excellent food and the superb service! We'll definitely be back ❤️

So, the taste, the service, the quantities, and the creativity are all fantastic. The only downside is that the beef rissole was completely overcooked and dry. But the fantastic dumpling fries make up for that. 😁👍😉 And the dessert, Strizelchen with sugar and cinnamon, was a dream.

We went to Wenzel in Zwickau with the family and had a truly lovely evening. I chose the Svíčková as my main course – the meat was incredibly tender and perfectly prepared. My personal favorite, however, is the dumpling fries – wonderfully crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, simply fantastic! The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit, typically Bohemian, and highly recommended!

Located right at the foot of Zwickau Cathedral, it has a quaint interior, excellent food, and friendly service. We enjoy coming here again and again. Great selection of beers and good, hearty food.

Very friendly staff and prompt service. The food is very good. One thing that's a bit inconvenient is the women's restroom, which requires a flight of stairs. This is absolutely inconvenient for wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties.

Since we live near the border with the Czech Republic, we go there often. Therefore, we are very familiar with the culinary offerings. Unfortunately, we were only partially satisfied at the Wenzel in Zwickau. It was tasty, but unfortunately no comparison to authentic Czech cuisine. However, the dishes looked well-presented and were warm, so overall, they were okay. Unfortunately, nothing more. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The ambiance outside was fine. We didn't go inside.

Update 05/25: All attributes are still valid. However, prices have increased significantly. More than €5 for a half liter of beer takes some getting used to. We were quite satisfied with the service, the waitresses, and the ambiance, as well as the food we ordered. We were served quickly and very friendly. The ambiance and atmosphere are great; you immediately feel at home. The seating in the beer garden is also quite quiet and comfortable. The prices for food and drinks are perfectly reasonable, and the portions are okay.

The food and service weren't outstanding. The food was edible, but the portions were small and overpriced. Service was quite slow and not very courteous.

I've heard that "Wenzel" is a chain, but my visit to the branch in beautiful Zwickau was my first – and certainly not my last. The place is truly extraordinary! The restaurant is actually located in the heart of the city, but it's wonderfully hidden behind the cathedral – almost like a small, sheltered niche. In the beer garden, you can sit undisturbed and enjoy the peace and quiet. Whether Wenceslas of Bohemia or Wenceslas II is meant – either way, both would have certainly felt at home here. Delicious Staropramen, just like you'd find in Prague, delicious Borovička :-), and good food to go with it. The Solyanka would probably have even appealed to Erich and Walter – but the real highlight was the Svíčková (Bohemian roast beef), or as I call it, "Buddha's Lenten dish" – simply delicious! Eating Svíčková outside the Czech Republic is often a risk—and unfortunately, disappointing 8 out of 10 times. But at Wenzel, it was truly outstanding!

After waiting an hour (!!) for my ordered food, I gave up and paid for my drinks and left hungry. The waitress knew for over half an hour that I had been waiting forever because she informed me that my order would be served soon... but nothing happened for another half hour!

So when you arrive here, you immediately feel at home and at home. The interior is very rustic and the outdoor area is kept tidy and is even equipped with heat emitters. However, we didn't get a beer menu. 1 stone is still too nice.

We ordered cordon bleu and chicken breast with oven-roasted vegetables. Unfortunately the chicken breast was only 2 small medallions and the oven vegetables were frozen goods. Which was confirmed to us by the waitress when we asked. The Cordon Bleu was just OK for our taste. Conclusion: sobering, it tasted better.

So first of all, the food, and the beer anyway, are great. But 40 minutes until the first beer is on the table seems a bit too long to me. Place your order after 20 minutes and then wait another 20 minutes for the delicious beer that is. I've experienced better than that. I can understand this when it comes to food, as it is probably freshly cooked. I was about to leave again, but the appetite and hunger were greater. Both were lucky, the restaurant for the sales and I for the delicious food.

Always recommended. Hearty food and a large selection of Bohemian draft beer. Nothing works here without a reservation.

Nach unserer Ankunft in Zwickau hing mir der Magen in den Kniekehlen und unser Plan, die nächstbeste Einkehrmöglichkeit zu nutzen, hat bestens funktioniert. Wir haben im Biergarten mit Blick auf den Dom gut gesessen und gegessen, die Küche ist durchgehend ab 11:30 Uhr geöffnet. Sehr gut gefallen hat das saftige Backhendl mit krosser Panade, Preiselbeeren, Weißkrautsalat und gut abgeschmecktem Kartoffelsalat und für den Liebsten gab es eine fluffige sowie gut belegte Pinsa Praha mit Tomatensauce, Ofengemüse, Beskydenkäse und Lauchzwiebeln. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht und am Folgetag ebenfalls zur Mittagszeit nochmals vor Ort. Diesmal hatten wir die Wenzel „Best Of“ Vorspeisenplatte mit zwei kleinen Ecken gebackenem Käse, Topinka (geröstetes Knoblauchbrot), Karlsbader Taler (Reibekuchen), Knödelpommes, buntem Salatmix aus Gurken-, Schopski- und Weißkrautsalat sowie Tatarensauce und den Wenzel-Kräuter-Palatschinken gefüllt mit Kräutersauerrahm, Tomate, Zwiebeln, Beskydenkäse und Weißkrautsalat, alles ebenfalls gut gemacht, einzig die frittierten Komponenten der Vorspeisenplatte hätten deutlich heißer sein dürfen. Es gibt 7 weitere Standorte und bei Gelegenheit würden wir wieder beim Wenzel einkehren. Die Preise halte ich für noch akzeptabel. An beiden Tagen haben wir ein sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Serviceteam angetroffen. Empfehlenswert!

After we arrived in Zwickau my stomach was in the back of my knees and our plan to use the next best place to stop for a break worked perfectly. We had a good time sitting and eating in the beer garden with a view of the cathedral. The kitchen is open continuously from 11:30 a.m. We really liked the juicy fried chicken with crispy breading, cranberries, white cabbage salad and well-seasoned potato salad and for my loved one there was a fluffy and well-topped Pinsa Praha with tomato sauce, oven-baked vegetables, Beskydy cheese and spring onions. We were very positively surprised and were there again at lunchtime the following day. This time we had the Wenzel “Best Of” starter platter with two small corners of baked cheese, Topinka (roasted garlic bread), Karlsbader Taler (grater cake), dumpling fries, a colorful salad mix of cucumber, Schopski and white cabbage salad as well as tartar sauce and the Wenzel herb pancakes filled with herb sour cream, tomato, onions, Beskydy cheese and white cabbage salad, everything Also well done, only the fried components of the appetizer plate could have been significantly hotter. There are 7 other locations and given the opportunity we would stop at Wenzel again. I think the prices are still acceptable. On both days we met a very friendly and attentive service team. Recommended!

Had dinner there again and it was never a disappointment! Of course you should reserve in advance, otherwise it will be difficult to get a spot there spontaneously. Service, friendly and really nice to children too. The only drawback is that the prices are very high, which puts you off at first. The taste, however, makes up for everything. If you like drinking beer, you should take a look at the menu beforehand at €5.70 for a half liter. Otherwise top restaurant

After a long field service assignment, I was not disappointed. Whether rustic or burgers & schnitzel, the Czech plate appealed to me the most. The restaurant is right on Cathedral Square. Top service and the best Pilsner Urquell.
