The service is nice and sometimes you're up for a chat with croquettes. The food is delicious and surprisingly close to the original Bohemian cuisine. The dumplings are really fluffy.

A super quaint restaurant in the heart of Magdeburg. Very friendly and attentive staff with a sense of humor. Food and especially the local beer are a pleasure. We are already looking forward to our next visit.👍👍👍

Nice place near the city center, just renovated! Like the other Wenzel thy serve czech cuisine. We ordered a veel and pork schnitzel. They were quite good especially the veel. As a starter we ordered a dish with a variety of cheeses and potatoes which was ok. They have also English menu and the staff speak English.

You will find an appealing restaurant atmosphere here and can feel very comfortable.

Bohemian cuisine of the best quality. There are also smaller portions at fair prices for some dishes. Service quick, competent and friendly. It's worth pre-ordering as it's obviously always full.

The Pilsner beef goulash (€18,97) is just sauce and bread. So there was less beef.

Newly furnished, food very tasty and the service was friendly

After the renovation, I like the Wenzel even better. It's nice that the renovation wasn't used to make the tables more crowded. So there was still enough space, even though the restaurants were completely full. The service was very attentive, cheerful and always ready to have fun. As usual, the food is hearty and very good, it's just Bohemian cuisine. But the burgers are also recommended. The Wenzel Magdeburg also has something special to offer. There is original Terence Hill ice cream. Expensive, but delicious. Of course, the pistachio ice cream is an absolute must as an insider for Spencer/Hill fans.

I was here alone on a Saturday evening. It was my second visit to this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and found a place for me straight away. This time I had the chicken burger with dumpling fries (which are an absolute must as a side dish or generally as a starter). On my first visit about a year ago, I ordered the goulash with dumplings. Both dishes tasted delicious, this time I was even pleasantly surprised by the amount of chicken. And despite the thickness in the middle, it was completely cooked through, but not dry. I also had a strawberry-raspberry lemonade. It's beautifully fruity and extremely refreshing. I would have liked to try the Powidl dumplings from the autumn menu, but unfortunately I was already full. (I guess I'll have to come back again.) Otherwise, I can only recommend asking if there is a space available on the upper floor. I found it a little more comfortable and quiet there, simply because you don't hear the hustle and bustle at the entrance and the "clink" of the food being ready.

There are actually still “old/trained” permanent staff who understand service. *mega friendly* The ambience is currently being redesigned because there is a renovation going on in the lower area, which you won't notice. However, I go there every year (at least on my birthday to redeem my voucher) and am always very satisfied! But be careful: if you have a Wenzel customer card, you must show it immediately upon arrival, otherwise you will no longer be considered!

We've been to Wenzels Magdeburger a few times and apart from the fact that it's always quite loud in the restaurant, everything has always been very good. Unfortunately it wasn't like that last time. The fact that only half of the places are available due to construction work shouldn't matter. It was again very loud when we arrived, but got better over time after a larger group left. The waitress came quickly and took the orders. I chose a dish with red cabbage because in the past I have always found red cabbage to be extremely tasty. It was only so tasty at Wenzels. I was so looking forward to it. We received our food after five! Minutes, which surprised us. Unfortunately, we discovered that the dishes weren't really hot, so you can assume that the plates were already prepared in the kitchen. Yes, the place was full, but we still didn't like it. However, we accepted it in silence because the waitress was already annoyed and we didn't feel like being stressed. The dishes were tasty, only the red cabbage didn't taste as tasty as in the past. When asked, it was reported that the recipe had been changed. Why??? Why was something so good made worse? All in all, you can still go to Wenzels quite well, but the quality has declined and with today's prices you would expect a little more.

Den zumeist freundlichen und umsatzorientierten 3 Bedienungen fehlte letztendlich doch der Flair und das notwendige Quentchen Motivation um den Abend als positives Erlebnis enden zu lassen. Der Wunsch um 1930 nach einem anderen Tisch weg vom Laufweg in eine gemütlichere Ecke wurde mit der Begründung „alles reserviert“ abgelehnt. Tische blieben trotzdem frei und es kam auch niemand mehr. So fängt es halt nicht so gut an. Trotz der standardisierten Frage nach Beilagen und Nachtisch fehlte dem ganzen Abend einfach Herz. Das Essen war ok. Die Portionen eher klein fürs Geld (Goulasch 9 Stückchen zu 18,97, Roulade für 21,93€) lassen durchaus noch einen Nachtisch zu. Wir haben aber darauf verzichtet. Das Ambiente ist leider auch eher wie Bahnhofshalle, es fehlt an warmen Ambiente fördernder Einrichtung - Bierhaus kennen wir anders. Die Toiletten sind gepflegt und sauber. Weitere Abende werden wir eher anderswo verbringen, auch wenn nach unten sicher noch Luft ist. Schade um die Möglichkeiten einer an sich guten Küche.

It's unbearable! This restaurant is like a sauna! How dare you entertain your guests in such heat? Sweat runs down your back before the food is even on the table. What do you think? Is this a test to see who can last the longest? The quality of the food is lost in this stuffy atmosphere and enjoyment becomes torture! There is an urgent need for remedial action here – ventilation, air conditioning, anything! Otherwise this restaurant will not only lose guests, but also its good reputation!

We flew in here during a holiday trip on the recommendation of locals. The food (various) tasted good to everyone, only the dumplings weren't our thing, but that's because they're Czech, but even they didn't go unnoticed. We sat outside, which was quite pleasant, there wasn't too much going on around us, and you could admire many, many birds above you and in the trees next door. We'll definitely come back next time.

Good quality of food and service. The concept used for the recipes was different from my expectations (I would have expected a pork shank with more falling apart meat), but I accepted the authenticity of the recipe. The service was not very effusive, but very professional and fulfilled additional requests, such as packing leftovers from a takeaway meal. The menu for vegetarians did not disappoint either: cheese, fries, pancakes, etc. I definitely recommend it to soak up the authentic atmosphere of this place.

Even though the places are significantly limited due to the current renovation, I still got one and experienced the high standard of food and drink that I am familiar with. I would like to say very high praise to the team, who managed everything with friendliness and good coordination under significantly difficult conditions. Of course I'd love to come back.

When I found out that there was a Czech pub in Magdeburg, we had to visit it. Such an inspection from the Czech Republic. And it would probably be a shame not to write any feedback here. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of beers on offer. I expected to find Pilsner Urquell at most. But I was surprised by a larger selection than is usual in Czech pubs. I didn't like the style in which the beer was brewed. There are different types, but Czech beer (and German beer too) is said to have a nice white cap that lasts a long time. The beer is then thrown into a wet and cold glass. You can tell that the beer has been spun well by the ring that remains on the edge of the glass after each sip. And that wasn't the case here. The beer wasn't bad, no. But it could have been much better. What I was very surprised about was the beer counter. It used to be in every bar, but it hasn't been for 50 years. This is a nice tradition. It's a shame that Czech and Moravian wines aren't also offered here. The dishes are a mix of Czech food and Czech-looking food. Svíčková, goulash or goulash soup is definitely cool. The garlic soup must smell like garlic, which wasn't the case here. But there are also non-Czech dishes here. Soljanka is a Russian soup, not a Czech one. We really don't know French fries made from dumplings in the Czech Republic. Neither does Pinsa Ceca. I showed pictures of the food in our pub at home and that was what everyone was most surprised about. The food Bohemian farmer's breakfast is a great curiosity. In the Czech Republic we don't eat dumplings for breakfast, but rather as a side dish with sauces. And we don't put tomatoes in our omelettes. The overall impression wasn't bad. But it would take a few visits to the Czech Republic to refine the dishes. And the dictionary napkins are a nice touch.

Always delicious beer, good food and nice service, keep it up

We spontaneously went in here yesterday evening shortly before the kitchen closed and were allowed to order something. We were very positively surprised. The homemade lemonade is highly recommended and we had the beer goulash with additional red cabbage (highly recommended as it was very tender and tasty), the cheese spaetzle and the Bohemian farmer's breakfast (everything was very nicely prepared and we enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was nice and cozy and the service was also very friendly, relaxed and humorous. We would love to come back soon.

Despite the lukewarm food, the food was ok and if you like something saucy, you're in good hands there!

We ate in the restaurant on August 25th, 2024. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 3 children. The food was okay but unfortunately partly cold. A children's meal was particularly annoying. Service seemed unmotivated, not with the guests and they quickly became distracted. Drinks were booked incorrectly on the bill. After we pointed it out, I was casually told to get it back from her companion.

Except for the completely over-salted fries, it was delicious and very nice

My burger and sides were delicious. There is also nothing to complain about when it comes to service, friendly and attentive. I rarely have too much dip with the fries, there was vegan mayonnaise and ketchup without additional ordering. That's great! However, considering the price, the portion of fries could be a little larger. Therefore not quite full marks. Overall a nice experience and worth another visit!

Good Bohemian food, at good prices

We sat outside which we didn't like very much. The forest of leaves and bird feathers under our table were very unsightly and disgusting. But the service was very friendly and the beef roulade was tasty. The Bohemian dumplings were disgusting, I have no idea what they were supposed to be but definitely not Bohemian dumplings!

Overall quite good, the beer could have been a little colder. Food and service were good.

My 160g salmon fillet without any side dishes was great. My apple juice became orange juice.

Food was too expensive and didn't reflect the price, and the waiters were very pushy in offering side dishes, some of which weren't on the menu, but these were properly billed for even though this wasn't mentioned when ordering. It also took a very long time and the wrong dishes were served.

Food was good, but nothing special. Unfortunately the Kasseler was a bit dry, but my partner liked the goulash. The service works very quickly and everyone is friendly. I find the price-performance ratio to be a bit too high.

We had schnitzel Viennese style (pork) and garlic bread first. There is a good selection of beers. The food was excellent and the portions are by far sufficient. We'd love to come back!

For the service staff, the customer pays their wages!! I no longer felt well at the end of my visit, shortly before the restaurant closed (early bill). Maybe it's also a management issue. Difficult to judge as a guest. The result for me is clear. But not every guest has to feel so badly about this point and it shouldn't be seen primarily as a point of criticism, but rather as an indication towards more satisfied guests and therefore more sales and correspondingly secure jobs.

Was at the Wenzel in Magdeburg for the second time. Good Czech beer and cuisine. The Pilsner goulash and also the beer goulash are highly recommended. We had reservations for 6:45 p.m. Our order was taken at 7:30 p.m. At 8:15 p.m. I carefully asked for food - at 8:30 p.m. the food arrived, which we had to wolf down because we had tickets for an event at 9 p.m. Well and the taste - if you like saltless food and lovelessly half-thrown pizza. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! Regarding your answer - no one communicated with us, then I would have understood. But just leave us alone and wait - that's not possible.

Even though the store was NOT full, it took a very long time to be served. Then even longer until it is lukewarm, in our case goulash about less 1.5 tablespoons full of meat (very! manageable) and dry 😡 comes. Shame on you for such a shoddy performance. Staff was friendly.

We have visited this quaint restaurant several times alone and with guests. We were always served in a friendly and courteous manner. The food comes to the table quickly and tastes excellent. From our point of view, there is something for every taste. Even short-term inquiries or online bookings were answered quickly and always received a positive decision. In any case, we can only recommend the “WENZEL”.

Went there for dinner with the Barber Angels yesterday. The service was super perfect and the food was very tasty. I will eat with you again next time I visit Magdeburg.

We had dinner with the BarberAngelsBrotherhood on site. So delicious, best knuckle ever. Otherwise the food was delicious. Melli and Hofi as waitresses were so fast and super nice. Thank you. It was a great evening. We'd love to come back. 👍👌
