Weinhaus Zum Knoten in Freudenberg

Too bad! During our detour to Freudenberg we were thrilled by the closely spaced, crooked and historic half-timbered houses, the town and the alleys are packed with history and stories, really worth a day trip. We wanted to have a coffee and a piece of cake in the time-honored restaurant “Knoten”. The landlady apparently did not understand the importance of this historic and perhaps listed house in this location; a decoration like in a youth hostel, our table runner dingy and stained, there are still crumbs and leftover sugar on the table from our predecessor, the window sill with cobwebs and dead animals. We were greeted by a waitress who was not rude but clearly unmotivated (we were initially the only guests). The latte macchiato we ordered was not a latte macchiato and the latte was not a latte. We were both served the same brown liquor - one in a glass and the other in a cup. We decided not to eat the cake when we saw that the table next to us was given a ready-made base with pineapple. The stairs down to the toilet were so sticky under my soles that I wondered when the last place was wet mopped. On the way out we wanted to look at the display case with the menu: yellowed and wavy paper - probably not updated for a long time. Gastronomy can be fun and make the heart happy. You often want to come back. In this case not. My tip for those in charge of this restaurant: try to gain a foothold in another industry.

We always found this restaurant very cozy.... now we hear that our 3-year-old granddaughter wasn't even allowed to use the toilet there and was sent out into the cold again with our daughter, who had asked nicely. Anyone with any sense knows that things always have to be done quickly with a 3-year-old! In any case, we will no longer enter this restaurant and will pass it on to family and friends/acquaintances. You get one more star for the apology. We can very well understand that you don't want to let all adults and perhaps even older children go to the toilet when there is a Christmas market outside. This was a young mother with a small child. The child had an urgent need, not the mother! There can be no question of crowds either, as there were 3 guests sitting in your restaurant at the time. You know, it starts with the children... if you're not friendly to children, you're not a friendly person in any other way. In any case, it was no problem at all for the child to use the toilet in the hotel opposite. These are the things that people remember and that is called hospitality.

Actually a really nice restaurant that we enjoyed visiting once or twice. Not particularly hospitable though!!! If your 3-year-old daughter needs to go to the toilet very urgently in freezing temperatures and you politely ask if that is possible... you are simply sent away. Thanks for that!!! We probably won't be coming back again anytime soon.

We are in a group for dinner in the evening. Ambience is okay, nothing special but not bad either. The waitress (young girl) was very friendly and accommodating. The boss, however, seemed as if she didn't feel like it. Likewise, her competence when it came to wines was only due to an online course. The food was very bad. Most of the group had ordered schnitzel in a pepper sauce with coleslaw and croquettes. The croquettes were not available because the deep fryer had apparently broken. The coleslaw was okay, but it was also store-bought. The schnitzel was absolutely cooked to death and substandard. The sauce was also very bad. Only the tarte flambée was good. It took a bit of time, but it was edible. My recommendation: eat somewhere else first, then drink there relatively cheaply. Unfortunately, the store isn't good for anything more. The place doesn't deserve the name Weinhaus either. Renaming it to “The Drunken Shoe Sole” would be most appropriate.

Underground service. There was no longer any need to receive guests at 10:30 p.m. If you don't need it... it's a shame... Absolutely no recommendation!

Seit jeher schöne Kneipe. Die Wirtin ist sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Mehr Abweisend als einladend. Die Mädchen vom Service waren okay. Das Essen geht so. Die Flammkuchen waren sehr sparsam belegt. Früher beim Wirt Willi war das besser, vor allem hat man sich willkommen gefühlt.

Lecker selbsgebackener Kuchen und freundliche Leute.

Wunderschönes kleines Gasthaus mit wirklich leckerem Essen. Kleine Speisekarte, gut gekocht. Guter Wein. Netter, aufmerksamer Service. Sehr zu empfehlen 👍

Wir haben im Weinhaus zum Knoten einen schönen Abend verbracht. Wir wurden nett und freundlich bedient. Das Essen und der Wein, den wir empfohlen bekommen haben waren ebenfalls sehr lecker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Locale carino che propone piatti tipici locali ma quando si espone su proposte come la pasta non la sa cucinare. Il gorgonzola non si sentiva e la pasta era scotta. Poi il gulasch su una base di spetzle non si può vedere. Ottimo il tagliere di formaggi. Troppo poco per consigliarlo

Leider waren beide Gerichte nicht heiß und offensichtlich nicht frisch zubereitet . Die Wirtin hat sehr schroff widersprochen. Es war eine sehr unangenehme Situation. Den zweiten Stern gibt es nur für die sehr netten Bedienungen, die das ganze peinlich berührt aushalten mussten.

Ein schönes, gemütliches Haus. Es gibt eine sehr kleine Speisekarte, leider ist das Essen nicht gut. Man kann dort gut einen Wein trinken und einen Flammkuchen essen, aber mehr leider nicht. Das Oersonal war freundlich, die Chefin leider nicht. Auf ein Glas Wein werden wir wiederkommen, zum Essen leider nicht.

Netter Empfang,gutes Essen, schnelle Bedienung,es gab nix auszusetzen.

Gulaschpfanne mit Tagliatelle für 11,90 ganz lecker. Ist aber eher eine laute Kneipe, wo einige Gäste würfeln und sehr laut rumgrölen. Leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Gemütliches Ambiente, Essen war vorzüglich, konnten dort die Zeit in Ruhe genießen, keine Hektik, kein auf die Uhr schauen.
