Went there with the company for Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, things went wrong with the order, so some had to wait for their food while others were already eating.

The service was very attentive and quick. However, the food was worse than in some school cafeterias. The fried potatoes were just cooked potato slices from the freezer, garnished with frozen vegetables in a dirty pan. Some of the potatoes were blackened by residue left over from the previous meal. Generally, all the dishes (except the pasta dishes) were simply frozen food prepared without any care. I also haven't had such bad home-brewed draft beer in a long time – musty, bland, and stale. Therefore, I can't recommend anything except the pasta and pizza dishes.

We asked at reception if it was possible to sit outside. We were laughed at and treated as if we'd asked a completely absurd question. The staff apparently didn't think it necessary to serve us… so we simply left. Not recommended. Extremely unfriendly and rude.

I finally redeemed my voucher for a meal here. I reserved a table, as it's always very busy. The waiter was quick and very friendly. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. The pre-Christmas atmosphere was fantastic. The noise level in the conservatory was a bit high, but we could live with that. Thank you, we'll gladly come again! 👍

We spontaneously booked a table for eight for dinner that same day. The initial contact over the phone was very pleasant. This warmth and friendliness continued throughout our entire visit to the restaurant. I remember the Waldkasino from my childhood, and it was a popular spot even back then, a status it retains to this day. Because of its popularity, it's now a destination for countless guests who flock here daily. They are exceptionally well looked after, with ample space and a wonderful staff who are friendly, cheerful, and attentive throughout their stay. Therefore, I would say the Waldkasino is the number one casino in town.

Hello, I spontaneously decided to eat at this restaurant with my partner today. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The waiter came quite quickly and asked if we wanted drinks, which were promptly brought to us. However, when we asked about our food, he became very unfriendly. We ordered, and then I asked again about the appetizer, the Brushetta, as I couldn't find it on the menu. He snapped at me, asking why I hadn't asked in the first place. He said he'd already sent the order and didn't want to start a new one. After that, he simply walked away. The food arrived quite quickly (10 minutes), which is good in one sense, but also very bad in another, as it was far from fresh. The vegetables were completely cold and still frozen, so they were obviously frozen. The schnitzel was lukewarm and greasy. It was very disappointing for such a great restaurant, even if everything looked fresh. After the meal, our plates were quickly cleared away, and the waiter was already back with his card reader for the payment. I hadn't even finished my drink, and we hadn't been there for more than half an hour. I still wanted to finish my drink in peace and sit with my partner for a while, but then two other guests arrived and stood next to us, just waiting for us to leave so they could sit down. Speechless.

Solid Italian cuisine, good location, but a bit large.

The food was quite good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'm not a big fan of the modern style, but that's a matter of taste. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, though. All in all, I would recommend it.

Unfortunately, nothing special for the rather high price. Although we had reserved a table, we were greeted rudely and initially relegated to a corner, where we had to wait until a table became available. When we finally got a table (in the back room), we were constantly jostled by people bumping into us, as everything was crammed in so tightly that another table could fit in. Because of the number of tables and the noise level, it felt like being in a train station. The food was also nothing special; you could easily make something similar at home. In a restaurant, I expect local spices and beautifully presented dishes, but none of that was present. Conclusion: Never again.

We were initially surprised by the size of the restaurant and thought it might take a while for our food to arrive. However, that wasn't the case at all. The food arrived within twenty minutes and was taken and brought by an exceptionally attentive and friendly waiter. We felt very comfortable and are already looking forward to our next visit.

A very large restaurant with plenty of staff. Therefore, there was no long wait. The food was delicious. The service was very attentive. Even though I was halfway through my wine, the waiter noticed a fly in it. He immediately took my glass and brought me a fresh glass. You don't find that kind of service everywhere! I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here and will gladly return.

We celebrated a birthday there last year and reserved a table for 6 people + a dog. We received a friendly welcome, but the staff's mood changed the first time they saw our dog, although he's not very large and not a "fighting dog/listed dog." Given the temperature that day, we could have sat outside, as there were still seats available without a reservation sign on the table, but they brought us to the "glass room," right at the back, to the last table. Our order was taken promptly, drinks and food were brought promptly, and it was delicious. Nothing more, nothing less. There were one or two moments where the staff ignored us, even though they made clear eye contact and then tried using hand signals, unfortunately to no avail. During dessert, they asked all the tables if they had ordered dessert before approaching us. By that point, however, it was already quite full, so you can turn a blind eye to that. Even on site, it was doubtful whether the dessert was homemade. I have to say that the staff there does a really good job considering the size of the place, and the food is prepared really quickly. It's a great place to go with family or a few friends for something to eat and a drink.

It was delicious, and the waiter was extremely attentive. He immediately noticed that I was pregnant and brought me a juice instead of sparkling wine – I thought that was very nice. The seating is very pleasant both inside and outside, and the service was very quick despite the large number of guests. I was completely satisfied!

The Waldkasino in Erfurt impresses with its idyllic, green setting and cozy atmosphere. The menu offers almost everything from world cuisine, from Italian, fish, meat, pasta, steak, schnitzel, burgers, to Thuringian specialties. To be honest, the menu was really overwhelming. The large beer garden is a great place to linger, especially in the summer. On a clear day, you have a great view of Erfurt, including the cathedral! The service is attentive and friendly, even when the restaurant is busy. Parking is available on-site, and a walk through the forest rounds off your visit. Ideal for anyone who wants to combine good food (at a very good price-performance ratio) with relaxation.

Delicious, friendly, super fast! Fifteen of us were at the Waldkasino. Everything was perfect. Very friendly (and numerous) staff. All dishes were correctly recorded and – despite reordering – brought out at the same time. Excellent. The food is good, delicious. The menu is amazingly large. The restaurant seats about 500 people. Superbly organized.

The rule here is quantity over quality. Unfortunately. Given the location, more could be done.

We had two very tasty pasta dishes. Friendly and attentive waiters.

In short, I was expecting a carbonara. I got ham and cream sauce. That's what we saw in the picture, with dried vegetables in it. It's clear that you can't make everything fresh at a reasonable price, but then I expect them to be cooked thoroughly. They were hard and crackled when I bit into them. The ham was also rubbish.

Once and never again! On September 17, 2025, we reserved seats for seven people at table 79 in the restaurant at 6:00 PM. The waiter came two minutes after we were seated to take our drinks. At that point, I had only skimmed five pages of the completely overloaded menu, so I explained to him that I would base my drink choice on the food. Three minutes later, he was standing next to me again and wanted to know my drink choice. Since I still couldn't decide, my response was: "He's been sitting here for half an hour and still doesn't know what he wants!" There were six witnesses. I decided not to order, which turned out to be a stroke of luck in retrospect. Some of the dishes were inedible (the French fries were undercooked and still cold inside, the schnitzel came from the deep fryer rather than the pan, the Thuringian roast beef was tough, etc.), so a large portion of the portions had to be returned. This food cannot be freshly prepared; you can sometimes get better food in a factory canteen. The service at our table was arrogant and unfriendly – ​​I've never been treated so badly. I'm at a loss as to how this restaurant can get 4.4 out of 5 stars. This restaurant doesn't deserve a single star and is not recommended!

We celebrated my mom's 75th birthday on September 13th and were beyond thrilled and satisfied. From the champagne reception to the beautifully selected appetizers, the tables were lovingly decorated, and we even got to decorate them ourselves. There were 25 of us, and the main courses all arrived at the same time and were perfectly delicious. The friendly service was particularly noteworthy, especially the waiter, Fabio, who was very accommodating and exceptionally kind and made this evening a very special one. For the third time, our class reunion was held at the Waldkasino Restaurant in Erfurt. This year marks 60 years of graduating from high school. Away from the other guests, we were able to have many undisturbed conversations in a private room. Many thanks for the attentive and super friendly service. A big compliment to the kitchen as well. It's just the Italian restaurant you'd expect. Everything is freshly prepared – simply delicious. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Waldkasino Hotel. The hotel is modern, comfortable, and very clean. A very special thank you also for the lovingly prepared breakfast buffet. Thank you so much, see you at the class reunion in 2026.

The food arrived in just 6 minutes after ordering. It felt like I was at McDonald's. I won't be going there again. And it tasted very bland.

We were here for the first time today. The restaurant was very busy, but the waiters and waitresses were still very friendly and nice. The food we ordered – two burgers, one burger with fries, one fries, and one fries with fish sticks – was served quite quickly. When you're seated, adults get a 0.1L Prosecco, and children, or adults if you want, get a 0.1L apple spritzer for free. The food was very tasty and there was plenty of it. The prices were a bit high in places, but that's not the case these days when you go out to eat. We will definitely come back next time we're in Erfurt.

After 15 years, I was back at the Waldkasino. The beer garden was much more industrialized than it used to be. Tables were very tightly packed. It was correspondingly loud. I overheard a lot of neighbors' conversations. These crowds in such a small space weren't really our thing. What's still state-of-the-art is the pizza.

An Italian restaurant just like you'd imagine it to be. You'll receive a very friendly welcome and service. You'll sit comfortably on a large terrace overlooking the city, away from traffic noise, surrounded by greenery, and the menu leaves nothing to be desired. Whether salmon fillet, gnocchi with scampi, or spaghetti with shrimp, all the dishes are freshly prepared and delicious. You'll gladly return.

Quantity over quality. That describes the Waldkasino very well. Absolute mass production with mediocre quality. My wife ordered salmon with tagliatelle, and the sauce was full of thickeners. My "slightly spicy tomato sauce" was a line of cream sauce with passata, and my tortellini tasted no different than store-bought ones from Metro. The playground is a real hazard. The trampoline is barely taut, and there are gaping holes on the sides where a child slipped through. Not to mention the rotten wood of the playground bridge. Never again.

Affordable lunch menu Many dishes

As they say, appearances can be deceiving. Unfortunately, the positive impression of the ambiance was quickly tarnished. We waited a long time for a waiter to attend to us. The menu was huge and unevenly arranged. Then a very long wait for the food to arrive. The pasta in the food was dried out and completely flavorless. They still need to practice making the spaghetti carbonara. Our guests, who were late, had their food at their tables after 10 minutes and complained about their lukewarm pizza. Perhaps the owner should exercise more control. As mentioned at the beginning, the restaurant has a great ambiance. There is a clear lack of organization and control here.
