Waldkasino in Erfurt

We had reserved a table, but unfortunately, it wasn't as good as we'd hoped. The food arrived super quickly, but the burgers were only lukewarm and not a hit. Drinks: Peach iced tea, according to our kids, tasted like cheap crumb tea. I think this visit is enough for us; we'll eat somewhere else next time. It's very loud there, like a train station.

One of my favorite restaurants for many years. Delicious food, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Special praise for the accessible restroom, which they now also offer. Many restaurants in Erfurt should follow their example. People with disabilities also have the right to eat out. But in Erfurt, there are hardly any accessible restrooms in restaurants. And there's still no sign of any changes.

One of my favorite restaurants in Erfurt: very friendly staff, a wide selection of food, absolutely reasonable prices, and most importantly, the food tastes absolutely delicious. The view from the terrace is simply amazing. Always worth a visit 🤗

A day-trip restaurant with a beautiful view of Erfurt. The food here isn't exactly great. A beer, water, or coffee is fine, but the food is rather mediocre. Despite its Italian focus, everything tastes like comfort food.

Very friendly staff, the playground is perfectly designed for children, and the food is delicious. We always enjoy going there.

The ice cream was tasty. The service was overloaded and a bit lackluster in my opinion. It was dingy. One waiter dropped something at his workplace. This was pushed under the counter with the foot. When we went out there were full ashtrays, used glasses and bottles standing around. Nice destination but more love for the work couldn't hurt. Maybe the management isn't good either. This is what it looked like.

Went here again today for dinner and sat outside. I ate the Waldkasino pan. The fried potatoes were barely fried and the food got cold in no time. The prices have risen again and the portions are smaller. I then had to go to the toilets; they were very dirty and unhygienic, and people hardly dared to use them. Conclusion: Everything has slowed down a lot and you get the feeling that only the masses are being processed. 🤨

After a stroll through the city, we spontaneously stopped at the Waldkasino. Although we were skeptical at first because the restaurant was quite full, we were quickly pleasantly surprised. We were shown a comfortable table, the drinks were brought quickly, the food came quickly despite there being a lot of guests and the staff was very friendly. The portions were large and the food tasted really good. We can recommend a visit and will come back when we are nearby!

Extra requests were only fulfilled after a long discussion - and only after a waiter had lied to us. The food was disastrous. The pizza dough seemed like frozen food, the pasta was tasteless. When I asked for some chili oil, I got a bottle of Tabasco instead. The wine was also warm. When I asked for a new glass, I was offered ice cubes for the wine instead - completely inappropriate. The restaurant is also not recommended for drinking, as most of the glasses were very worn and some were dirty. All in all, I can only recommend the restaurant for ice cream - unfortunately not for anything else. The service was also very unfriendly and disappointing. Extra requests were only fulfilled after a long discussion and after the staff lied to us.

Friendly atmosphere with children's playground and trampoline. We went for ice cream, unfortunately it wasn't as tasty as it used to be. Prices were also adjusted above.

If you don't value quality, you'll find a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and garden. Pizza oven temperature is too low. That's why there is cardboard. Maybe order something else.

We celebrated a diamond wedding in the Waldkasino and were warmly welcomed by the service staff with our guests. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Fabio in particular served us in a fun way that was very well received by our guests. The selection of food and drinks both in the afternoon and in the evening was very large. We were able to choose from all sorts of traditional dishes and Italian dishes, all of which were really delicious. The ambience with its great view over Erfurt has a lot to offer both inside and out. Everyone felt very comfortable and we can also recommend the restaurant for a family celebration.

So the food was ok for such a big store. But unfortunately you had the feeling that it was just mass processing to make a lot of money. We had just started to enjoy our starter when the main course arrived. And that's not possible in a halfway good restaurant. I would like the staff to receive further training. Also have to mention that I found; that there were too many staff for such a day.

The beer doesn't work at all. The food is ok. And the rest, service and ambience, are so-so.

The staff is very friendly and hard-working, comes regularly to ask about the guests' wishes and sometimes makes a joke. There is a free welcome drink and the food tastes good with a large selection. The prices are very moderate. The parking spaces are free and right in front of the door, but a bit narrow. The restaurant is not bar-free. But they still make a lot possible.

I've eaten there many times, but today I've finally forgotten it, all 4 of the free white wine glasses had a dirty rim, the food for 4 people was at the table within 3 minutes, that's how it tasted, it's better not to order schnitzel and German dishes, they taste warmed up, no wonder given the mass processing. Waiters are unfriendly, walk around like machines, don't speak complete sentences, and there are no female waitresses, why? It's a shame because the location is nice and well maintained. Just too big, too much mass

Super location in summer is unfortunately very full, for people outside it is very difficult to find parking spaces, reservations would be an advantage if children are in the vicinity of the playground, but it is a fight to get to the toilet because it is known that it has to be quick and because the corridors are partly tight and there is not even strollers. It's better to take a few tables down so that there is enough space to walk around.

I can recommend this place, there is a large terrace, a large one Winter garden and of course a real dining room. The waiters were attentive and the service was accordingly quick. Weather permitting, you can plan a hike in the Steiger Forest before or after eating/drinking.

You book a table for 12 a week in advance, arrive on time, and are seated at a table for 8-10. It was also unpleasantly loud. An appetizer wasn't brought, but it was on the bill. This is what you imagine a successful birthday party to be...

A table was reserved in advance and unfortunately you would be seated next to the entrance door, no trace of comfort. All the through traffic made it so loud that we could barely hold a conversation, and our daughter was freezing and put on her jacket. When I asked whether the children's schnitzel could also be had with mashed potatoes instead of fries, the answer was "No, we don't have mashed potatoes here." It's good that the fish dishes are served with potatoes, you can then make your own judgment about the quality. All in all, the waiters seemed rushed and seemed to want to get rid of their guests quickly, the closest people were literally standing next to our table and waiting for us to get up. A very disappointing lunch experience!

Huge selection of dishes, almost too big, I had a hard time deciding. We didn't wait 10 minutes for our food, which was really quick. Service staff super friendly and attentive. A small point of criticism is our table, which still had the previous pasta sauce on it and the tablecloth had a large hole. Due to the size of the restaurant, the background noise is of course enormous and somewhat disturbing. Price/performance, very good.

Pizza always delicious. There is also German cuisine. Home-brewed beer. Good wines. From the winter garden and from the terrace you have a beautiful view over Erfurt. Children's playground. Very large parking lot. Good prices.

We were able to celebrate an 85th birthday with 21 people in the Waldkasino and had a great evening and a happy and very satisfied birthday child. The order was uncomplicated, we were given a separate room and at lunchtime we were allowed to bring decorations etc. At the beginning we all got a welcome drink on the house and then everyone ordered a la carte. The food came together for everyone (pizza, salads, children's meals, schnitzel, etc.) and our waiter was funny, friendly and always very accommodating. It was a great evening and we were very satisfied. Thank you.

On March 4th we were here for a snack and I have to say it was a very nice place. The place was rehearsal. We were afraid because we were on the way to a concert because of the time. But a big compliment to the staff. The food came very quickly and was excellent. Even though there were children running around screaming, the person was calm and very, very friendly. We'll be back. I can only recommend this restaurant.

We've eaten there several times, but it's gotten worse from time to time. You haven't even sat down properly yet, you already have the menu in your hand and the waiter says we have to hurry up, there's a lot going on today. The food came quickly and when we had finished eating the waiter said we would like to please leave as the next customers were already waiting. We've never experienced anything like this: pure mass processing, take a seat quickly, order quickly, swallow the food quickly, give a big tip and disappear again. This was probably our last visit, we imagined something different for a cozy birthday dinner. Like in Formula 1, that was the pit stop.

The Waldkasino in Erfurt impresses with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. The selection of dishes is very varied. The staff is also very nice and responds to special requests. We are there once a year for our great-grandmother's birthday with the whole family in a large group and it is always nice. The location is also ideal for a nice walk through the Steigerwald. Personally, I can recommend the Waldkasino Bürger with fries, the tomato soup and the grilled mozzarella wrapped in bacon with salad. However, I would stay away from chicken dishes. Otherwise 10/10

The expectations were set too high.

We were here in a larger group for a family celebration. There is ample parking, playground and various open and closed seating options. Essentially the only major criticism is that the menu is unnecessarily large and confusing. Fewer dishes with a little more attention to detail would simplify processes and service. However, the service was very friendly and helpful. Basically you can recommend eating here.

Although the opening time is until 12:00 a.m., the chairs were put up directly at the neighboring tables from 10:00 p.m. and the music was off. Although we had previously reserved for the company party. The food also left a lot to be desired. Maximum disappointment. What a shame!

This time we were here for lunch with the grandchildren and sat in the winter garden like the other times. It wasn't crowded and everything happened pretty quickly. We chose food from the lunch or children's menu. Everything was quite good, except for the pollack, which was definitely too dry. The pizza met our grandchildren's requirements - and that's far from always the case!
