Waldhotel Rheinbach in Rheinbach

Hey everyone from the Waldhotel. I was able to be your guest in two different rooms over the past few weeks and would like to share my honest opinion with you. The Waldhotel is truly THE wedding location in Rheinbach. I've heard so many good things about it! The path through the apple orchard is stunningly beautiful. And the surroundings are a riot of color, especially in autumn. A big thank you goes to the fantastic young ladies at reception. Special requests were handled well! Unfortunately, I'm not at all thrilled with the rest. The doors don't have an automatic locking mechanism. The room on the third floor smelled musty. The furniture is dated and somewhat uncomfortable. The carpet in the rooms has seen better days. The shower drain on the first floor was clogged, and on the third floor, it was impossible to shower properly in that strange bathtub. The shampoo and soap could have come from a hospital. If the service had been as bad, I would have thought I was in a nursing home. There are a few patches of rust and mold in the bathroom, the mirrors are almost dim, and the lighting is definitely from the 80s, with low-power bulbs and switches scattered throughout the room. The owners write that they wanted to create a home for themselves and their guests. If they were thinking of dilapidated old apartments in Cologne's Zülpi district, they accomplished their mission. The food, however, was a disgrace for me. Don't order a large water! The prices in the restaurant are apparently the same as for weddings. I ordered vegetarian, gratinated cheese as a starter, and pumpkin-filled dumplings for the main course. Including the water, it came to €50. The taste was okay. But it certainly can't compete with Michelin-starred cuisine, for which I would sometimes pay the same. The cheese, for example, was far too sweet with the dressing, and the pumpkin was overcooked. Breakfast was disastrous. Eggs have to be made fresh? The cereal selection is mediocre. There's no fully automatic machine. Yogurt was out one day. Why not add nuts or sliced ​​fruit to your yogurt or muesli? If you're offering scrambled eggs, then offer bacon, or at least beans for Intercontinental. I didn't understand the donut halves at all. There's no fitness center or spa. And the TV doesn't have streaming. The highlight for me: the toilet paper dispenser. If you've ever wondered what ice cream napkins feel like on your bottom, here's where you can try it out. Included in the price, of course. Bottom line: beautiful area, especially for walking past. With a renovation, I might come back again.

We booked a one-night stay and were very disappointed. The hotel's location is excellent, and the outdoor area is definitely a highlight! Our room with a bathroom was nice and large, but retro and had a 70s charm. This wouldn't have been a problem if it had been clean and tidy. It was completely dusty, the curtains on the balcony door were torn, mold was already starting to appear on the walls, and the beds were uncomfortable and small. The breakfast was very limited. Overall, the price for one night was completely unacceptable for the service provided, which we also mentioned on-site! We won't be staying at the Waldhotel Rheinbach again!

Over the years, I've had the privilege of providing musical accompaniment for numerous weddings, birthdays, and corporate events at the Waldhotel Rheinbach – and every single event has been something special. The venue impresses with its beautiful location, stylish ambiance, and an atmosphere that immediately puts guests at ease. The on-site team is always friendly, professional, and well-organized – which makes things much easier for everyone involved, including the DJ. I'm always delighted when I'm booked for a celebration at the Waldhotel – because I know that quality, warmth, and reliability are paramount here. I definitely recommend it.

We spontaneously stayed here for one night while passing through. From the outside, our first impression was very positive, but that changed. Pros: - Beautiful location surrounded by greenery. - Surprisingly large room. - Externally attractive building. Cons: - Holes in the bed linen. - Holey and very worn towels in the bathroom. - Despite the presence of a container, the shower gel in the bathroom was not refilled. - Very meager breakfast. We arrived in the dining room at 8:45 a.m. The official breakfast time is until 10 a.m. Nevertheless, the scrambled eggs were already empty. It could happen if they had been refilled. Half an hour later, however, they still hadn't. While we were considering whether to mention this, other guests complained that there were only three rolls left. The waitress then said that there were still rolls available, but that she would have to reheat them especially for them, and asked if they still wanted that. She also complained that there was no coffee left 45 minutes before breakfast time. She was told that the pots were empty, but she could get a cup from the machine. When asked if she would be able to get another cup afterward, she was told, "Yes, it might just take a moment." We found it highly questionable that such a high level of demand for the various basic breakfast items, even though their availability in sufficient quantities should be a given in a 4-star hotel. The answers to these inquiries reinforced this impression. Furthermore, a chandelier in the dining room was hanging halfway down and was only attached very poorly with wire. Since a table was set directly underneath, this should also be addressed. Overall, we had the impression that cost-cutting was done at every turn without any consideration for the guests. Accordingly, we don't highly recommend a stay there, even though most of the deficiencies could be easily remedied. It's a shame.

We were there for brunch with about 30 guests and received a friendly welcome and exceptionally good service. The brunch buffet offered a wide selection for everyone, whether vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore. There was absolutely no cause for complaint. The contact beforehand was also very good and attentive.

We celebrated our wedding at the Waldhotel on August 30th and thought everything was absolutely wonderful 🥰 We had the Cox Restaurant, with its spacious outdoor area, completely to ourselves. We booked the comprehensive package with a DJ and floristry, and were able to customize everything from the canapés to the full buffet and even the midnight snack. The food was absolutely delicious – literally everything. The service was attentive, super friendly, and helpful. Music and floristry were coordinated with the service providers in advance, so everything was a perfect fit… for the location, but especially for us. They've been relying on the right partners for years. Everyone involved works professionally. Thanks to the fixed flat rates per person, you know exactly where you'll end up cost-wise. The number of guests can be adjusted up to a few days in advance, so the whole thing is truly fair and there are no surprises afterward. We felt very, very comfortable. Thanks to the entire Waldhotel team. We, and our guests, thought it was absolutely wonderful. We will forever remember this day with joy! ♥️

Stayed just one night while driving through Germany. Nice old fashioned hotel set in large grounds. Our family room was huge and had its own kitchen and a balcony overlooking the rear garden. Hotel seemed quiet while we were there, so plenty of parking spaces and they served a good quality continental breakfast. The attached restaurant looked very nice, but we ended up getting some supplies from a nearby supermarket as the children were too tired and weren’t in the right mood for a fine dining restaurant.

I attended a wedding there. I highly recommend it!

We ate at the Cox Restaurant; I can't say anything about the hotel. The surroundings with their apple trees are beautiful, but the adjacent country road is unfortunately often very noisy. The ambiance is overall very pleasant. The service is also nothing to complain about. However, everything took a very long time. The food is unfortunately disappointing – considering the prices and the overall picture. It's not as bad as the sister restaurant in Meckenheim, but under the aforementioned circumstances, it could be improved considerably. The schnitzel is okay, edible. The side salad is boring and nothing special. It just lacks a kick. The steaks... I have no idea what they taste like. They were hidden under a smoky cheese, and everything just tasted of it. Not everyone likes that smoky flavor! A little note on the menu would be nice. Then you could perhaps opt out of the cheese. The different levels of doneness requested were perfectly met! That was a positive! We've heard so many good things about the restaurant from other people. Our expectations were accordingly high and unfortunately, at least as far as the food was concerned, they were not met.

We celebrated our wedding at the Waldhotel, and we couldn't have imagined a better location. The Pfannkuch family and the entire team took great care of us. Everything went perfectly. The food was amazing, and the service staff was very attentive. The value for money was just right. Our day was wonderful, and we will always have fond memories of it. Many thanks to the entire team!

We went out to eat with eight people. Very friendly service, good food. Pleasant atmosphere. Prices were high, reflecting the good service and quality of the food.

We celebrated our wedding, including a non-denominational ceremony, at the Waldhotel on July 19, 2025, and also stayed there for two nights. Everything was a complete success, and we highly recommend the Waldhotel as a wedding venue. The rooms may be a bit dated, but everything is clean and intact, and somehow that adds to the charm. The wedding reception couldn't have been better. The ballroom still needs a bit of decorating, but it's completely customizable. We booked the largest package, which also included table floristry and a DJ. We were completely satisfied with this, too. Everything can be customized to your wishes, from the aperitifs and the food to the drinks at the bar. Overall, the value for money was excellent. Also particularly worth mentioning is the friendly service staff, who pampered us throughout the evening. The daily schedule was perfectly adhered to, and by the end, everything was already packed in boxes, so we didn't have much to do. We would definitely get married at the Waldhotel again!

Highly recommended for celebrations of any kind. The hotel's attractive ambiance (ballroom with a beautiful large terrace) and beer garden provide the perfect setting. Service is competent and very friendly. Top-notch! We'll definitely be back.

We celebrated our wedding at the Waldhotel, and we're simply thrilled with the love and dedication the Pfannkuch family and the entire team put into their work. You can really see their years of experience with weddings and their preparations. The service staff on the day itself were very friendly and attentive. We simply enjoyed the day, and the Waldhotel organized everything for us behind the scenes. The food was also delicious, which we were able to customize to our liking in advance. Another plus is that you can budget for the wedding in advance, so there are no nasty surprises at the end. All in all, I would celebrate my wedding here again.

My girlfriend and I went to the idyllic beer garden of the Waldhotel Rheinbach, and we had a truly wonderful meal. The service was very courteous, attentive, and super friendly. We felt completely at home. My girlfriend has stayed here a few times and was equally impressed with the rooms.

I had a wonderful stay at the Waldhotel Reinbach and slept well. In the evening, I had a very good meal on the terrace. The service was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, and the location was beautiful.

The hotel is showing its age. The furniture in the room is very worn, and we had hair on the sheets. The service is okay, with significant potential for improvement. The location is beautiful. However, the food lacks much of a wow factor.

The location on or in the forest is unique, especially with regard to the wonderful outdoor dining, but also the hiking opportunities. A magnificent place for good food, but also for celebrating on a large scale. Polite, very accommodating hotel management.

We were able to celebrate our wedding here and were looked after so carefree that I never thought I would have to worry about it. Very nice staff, professional management and great concept. Nice country hotel. Good breakfast: egg dishes are freshly prepared. The staff was very nice and responded to requests. We had a room that was a bit old, so there was a small deduction.

Nice location, the offer is not right for the price

I can't necessarily recommend this place. The room with a balcony I got wasn't cleaned well, there was trash in the drawers, streaks on the mirrors. The duvet cover had 2 large holes and the towels were already frayed. My joy in the bathtub was quickly over. Water was dripping into the tub and couldn't drain when the drain was closed. After complaining, I was given a smaller room without a balcony and only a shower. This wasn't clean either because the shower gel dripped into the tub. None of this should happen in a good hotel!!!!!! The only highlight was the very nice staff in the bar.

The rooms are okay, there is hot water for showering, not just so warm that you can shower off quickly. The breakfast is a joke for the price, not a big selection and everything is nice. Will not visit this hotel again.

Very good food in a nice setting, very polite and accommodating staff

I live in Rheinbach and like to go for walks in the forest with my dog. I really like the outdoor area. romantic with the avenue that leads up to the main entrance and the various gardens and outdoor restaurants. But for me the most flair is in the old middle section, which reminds me of a manor house. The other one is put together in such a way that it fits, but I lack a harmonious overall concept for the historical part, which is beautiful. I was already able to experience the culinary delights and they were an unsurpassed, great EXPERIENCE for the taste buds. Sooo delicious. Simply great and everything prepared lovingly and unsurpassed. I'm completely thrilled.

Very good food. I went to a friend's birthday party and really enjoyed it

We were able to celebrate our wedding at the Waldhotel at the weekend with 80 people. Our guests were all very satisfied, from young to old. The service was excellent... our service manager really had a great exchange with the groomsmen and was well informed about everything. The food was also very tasty and we are satisfied. The only point of criticism would actually be, as in some reviews, that the facility or the hotel could perhaps do with a few small improvements. But everything was still very chic. Overall, we would recommend the location to everyone!

I could also give 10 stars for the room. I felt like a lord. This time the room was also very large, everything was beautifully furnished and clean. Of course the bathroom was also huge. The breakfast was very good and even cheap. I was asked what I wanted and was given my fried egg. I will stay there next time too.

You can definitely take advantage of the brunch offer. Nothing new, but it's a solid brunch with nice outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

A great room. Everything you need is available. What was especially positive was the food. What a delicious meal we had here. At first we thought we'd keep it small, but in the end it was a whole meal. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. Sandwiches, yoghurt, various sweet and savory fillings, eggs, milk, coffee, tea. There is a playground for the kids. A positive experience.

It was just Wright for us, one night stay to visit Family

This morning we went to brunch with 15 people. Regardless of each other, we were all dissatisfied. It was impossible, waiter, the food was way too overpriced for what was offered for just under 40 euros. Pressed on a table. Too many people in the room at all. Drinks were simply cleared away. Never again.

We can only rate the beer garden, which we found to be quite pleasant. It's nice that it has a "Bavarian" touch, both visually and culinary-wise, with its little delicacies. The beer was cold, well tapped and the service was friendly. The potato salad, which definitely came from a bucket, wasn't good at all. Is there really nowhere else to eat good home cooking??

A very nice place to be pampered. Just the sight of the lovingly set tables and the well-kept park invites you to linger. We felt completely comfortable. Of course, the very friendly and prompt service from the 2 nice ladies who fulfilled our every wish also contributed to this. Thanks for that. Of course you shouldn't forget to mention the food, it was excellent. We had the 4 course surprise menu and didn't regret it. It was very tasty and prepared and served with love. For each course we were explained exactly what we had on our plate. Thanks to the excellent service, the excellent food and the great ambience, you could enjoy your time in their house to the fullest. We'd love to come back.

Very nice atmosphere, first-class service and excellent cuisine, again and again

Nice staff, good breakfast and a really excellent restaurant, Cox in the Park. When we took a closer look, our room fell into place a bit off and could have used a little more attention, but it was ok.

The romantic atmosphere, the loving details and the warm support of the staff made this day an unforgettable celebration. We were impressed by the hospitality and commitment of the entire team. In addition, the food was the finest! Thank you for this wonderful celebration! We would be happy to come back at any time and can only recommend you, especially for weddings.

The location of the hotel is well located only a small space for cars if there are 2 or 3 weddings at the same time.

Wir haben dort die Silvester Gala gefeiert und auch dort übernachtet. Das Essen war sehr gut . Auch das " Katerfrühstück"am nächsten Morgen war reichlich. Das Hotel liegt sehr schön. Uns und unseren Freunden hat es sehr gefallen.

Unfreundlicher und unkompetenter service

Wir sind immer mal wieder für Tagungen vor Ort und wurden nie enttäuscht. Das Mittagessen ist immer sehr lecker. Oft gibt es gute deutsche Hausmannskost. Es macht immer alles einen sehr sauberen Eindruck und das Personal ist stets nett und hilfsbereit.

Echt wundervoll.. Essen war das beste was ich jemals hatte^^ auch eine schöne gegend und sehr nette Mitarbeiter! Nur zu empfehlen!

Schöner ruhiger Standort für Übernachtungen rund um Rheinbach. Das Hotel befindet sich in einem schönen grünen Gürtel nur wenige Kilometer von Rheinbach entfernt. Die Zimmer sind sehr großzügig geschnitten und mit einer kleinen im Schrank eingebauten Kitchenette, einem Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen überdurchschnittlich gut ausgestattet. Leider sind die Zimmer schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und eine Auffrischung würde den Räumen sicherlich gut tun. Das Frühstück ist inklusive und in Ordnung. Die Preise wurden vor kurzem angehoben, sind aber noch vertretbar.
