Das Essen war heute wieder sehr lecker, das Personal wie immer professionell und freundlich. Wir sind Stammgäste und auf jeden Fall dreimal im Monat dort auch in den Wintermonaten. Mega, dass ein Waldheim so eine gute Küche hat. Der Biergarten ist der schönste in Stuttgart

Ich war zum Mittagessen dort. Leider war mein Gulasch kaum genießbar: Das Fleisch war von zweifelhafter Qualität und kaum definierbar, die Paprikastücke viel zu groß und unappetitlich. Auch die Beilage, Weckknödel, konnte nicht überzeugen - sie waren viel zu hart und ließen sich nur mit Mühe und einem Messer teilen. Insgesamt wirkte das Essen sehr lieblos zubereitet. Es war das schlechteste Gulasch, das ich je auf dem Teller hatte.

Tarte flambée and schnitzel with potato salad are a clear recommendation. The price is also acceptable. Wednesday is a rest day. Parking spaces are usually full on weekends. However, there is the option of taking the SSB bus line 82 from Vaihingen or from Kaltental (Waldeck stop) every 20 Minutes to get to the Dachswald stop. From there it's about a 10 minute walk. The path is well signposted. Tip: The path below through the forest is at ground level for a very short stretch and is more pleasant to walk than on the road.

Das Essen und die Getränke waren qualitativ in Ordnung. Das Etablissement nennt sich aber "Waldheim" und es sei jedem interessierten Leser anheimgestellt, sich über die Historie der Stuttgarter Waldheime kundig zu machen. Es sind sozial orientierte Betriebe mit Erholungscharakter mit einer sehr langen sozialen Tradition. In den Waldheimen ist Selbstbedienung üblich, ebenfalls Außenbestuhlung mit Biergartenatmosphäre. So weit so gut. Wenn ich mir die hier aufgerufenen Preise jedoch ansehe, kann ich keinerlei soziale Orientierung erkennen, die Preise liegen WEIT über den Preisen anderer Waldheime und selbst weit über den Preisen von anderen "normalen" Biergärten. Einen Zwiebelrostbraten in 2 verschiedenen Versionen für 30 € und für 32 € suche und finde ich in anderen Waldheimen nicht, auch kaum in der Mehrheit der normalen Biergärten, eher schon in der normalen Gastronomie, dort aber ohne stundenlanges Schlangestehen und ohne Selbstbedienung. Kommen wir zur Außenbestuhlung und zu den Tischen: Die Tische waren z. T. zur Mitte hin deutlich durchgebogen und die Stühle bzw. der Boden unter den Stühlen praktisch nirgends eben, sondern immer jeweils sehr deutlich nach einer Seite geneigt. Das führt kaum zu einem entspannten Genießen. Die von anderen Rezensienten erwähnten "Tröge" sind schlichtweg notwendig, dass Soßen sich auf diesen Plätzen nicht einfach auf die Tische ergießen. Ich würde den Betreibern den Vorschlag machen, zukünftig auf den traditionellen und mit entsprechenden Erwartungen und Vorstellungen verbundenen Stuttgarter Titel "Waldheim" freiwillig zu verzichen, das wäre nicht mehr als eine ehrliche Maßnahme und entspräche eher der Realität eines Biergartens mit schon gehobenen Preisniveau.

The food is not bad, everything is fresh and the portion size is sufficient. However, the prices are in the higher segment and you could expect a side salad. The selection is very manageable, maybe 3-4 dishes per segment. The ambience is very old and should be renovated and redesigned! I think you could do more with the location.

Manchmal möchte man einfach einen gemütlichen Abend mit einfachen aber guten, preiswerten Gerichten und Getränken. Hier im Traditionslokal ist man gut aufgehoben - auch im Sommer unter den Bäumen auf dem weiträumigen Gelände.

The kitchen offers various dishes and most important different draft beers (opt for the Keller beer). The surrounding is calm and beatiful with a big play ground for kids.

We had twice delivery of food and everything was top. We had the Waldheim salad, the curry chickpeas and the Maultasche. The food was tasty, the portions were good, the quality of the food also very good. Together with the salad we got slices of focaccia which was very tasty. Beautiful, mature beer garden under fruit trees, but we don't go to it often because the parking situation is unpredictable. There is a parking lot, but if it is full it becomes difficult, even for residents. Map and food quality ok, self-service standard. There is paprika(!) in the sausage salad, which doesn't belong in Swabia. I don't know which Balkan chef brought this in. Also because many people can't tolerate it and then have to struggle to get it out.

What a perfect place to take kids for playing and hanging with friends! The food is delish, the park has a ton of kids, etc. The menu also had vegan items, which was a pleasant surprise! Fyi- Small parking lot that fills fast during meal time. We went at 4:30 before the rush and there was a decent amount of parking, but by 5:30, there was nothing left for parking!

The times from ordering to picking up the food are relatively short. You can pay with cash or with an EC card, but only for consumption amounts of 10 euros or more. In addition to normal portions, the menu also offers senior sizes. I can't say how big the difference actually is. However, the price is 2 euros cheaper. The food itself is ok, nothing exceptional. We thought the price was a bit too high for a senior portion. Otherwise, you can certainly spend some lovely hours there on summer evenings. Free parking spaces are available for visitors.

We had a wonderful summer party (wedding and birthday) in the Waldheim Heslach. The location was ideal: our guests had plenty of shade under the trees on the meadow, were well looked after and felt completely comfortable in the atmosphere. Mr. Zahoulis and his team organized the festival perfectly, were open to ideas and were uncomplicated and cordial throughout the preparation and implementation. The idea of ​​offering fresh bowls that you can put together yourself was implemented in a great, modern and innovative way. The buffet was delivered immediately, everything tasted wonderful and was beautifully presented. Tip: Homemade foccacia with dips is the ideal starter. If it rained, we could have easily moved inside. The prices are fair and the individual services are comprehensible and transparent. We can fully recommend holding any kind of celebration there on the idyllic meadow under the beautiful trees!

**Rating: EM Special** Basically nice staff and a nice place to relax and eat. It's great that dogs are allowed. However, the price-performance ratio when it comes to food just isn't quite right. We also always have the feeling that things are a little confused and unstructured. Yesterday the EM special was on the menu, which according to the description should be available from 2 p.m. on match days. Unfortunately, it was only available once the game started at 9 p.m. When asked if it would be available sooner, they said it wasn't possible. So we had to choose and order other food. Shortly before the payment process, we were informed that the EM special could be ordered at 8:30 p.m., even though the kitchen closes at 8 p.m. This resulted in half of our group having to eat earlier and the other half later. We couldn't understand this inflexibility.

The Waldheim is beautifully located on the edge of the forest, has a lot of play space and decent catering. You can order inside or at the outside counter. There is a pickup number on the invoice that you can use to pick up your food after calling it via one of the information boards. The whole thing generally works quite well, although there may be waiting times when the weather is nice. There are plenty of information boards that are quite visible. The prices are OK and the staff (usually) quite friendly. There are several play areas for the little ones, which are well maintained. The parking lot is far too small and too narrow on nice days. It is then recommended to travel by alternative means (bicycle, on foot).

I've been coming here occasionally for decades. Ate the blandest lentils of my life here today. The menu offering doesn't really fit a Waldheim beer garden. Unfortunately, no small dishes are offered, as a side dish to the beer, such as red ones in the Weckle. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Admittedly, it's been a while since we came here. But now it will be a lot longer before we eat here again, if at all: the dry schnitzels, which were breaded too thinly in our opinion, were very tough, the salad consisted of two Lollo Rosso leaves estimated in DIN A 5 format, which concealed four different tablespoon portions of vegetables. Like all the prices, the sauces were generously salted and we were not allowed to sit in the nicer part of the beer garden under the trees, despite self-service. Instead, we sat down in the very outdated and unkempt seating area next to the open hall, and ultimately mourned the former beer garden insider tip and our 85 euros for bad food and a dilapidated ambience. So in the future we will literally ignore the Waldheim Heslach on our hikes and turn to the neighboring locations! Very unfortunate and extremely disappointing…

On Mother's Day, May 12th, we celebrated my mother's 80th birthday in the Heslacher Waldheim and were impressed by the entire organization, from the very friendly communication, good food and the perfect experience for us (many thanks Mr. Zahoulis!) - to the very friendly and attentive service who took great care of us, very satisfied. With the wonderful ambience in the countryside and the extra space with our own outdoor terrace, we had a very nice day and everyone was very happy!

Even as a vegetarian, I can always find something. The meatless sausages with potatoes and vegetables are great, but the Waldheim salad, the soups and the cheese spaetzle are also very tasty. When it comes to salads, I would prefer fewer or no cabbage and beetroot items, but I have that problem in most German restaurants and it's probably more a matter of personal taste. Overall, a clear recommendation!

The playground is really great for children, the location is nice and secluded and it's not uncomfortably overcrowded even on weekends. The food is a joke in terms of value for money. Especially the completely overpriced BBQ products. We had two portions of brisket that were almost inedibly dry and tough - and that for 15 euros a portion (for 2 strips with a huge edge of fat). For almost 70 euros including a tip, you really feel cheated. Gladly again, but never again for food.

The negative part: The food is below average, very expensive considering it is self service. And what a shame, when you pay by card, a list of questions appears asking how much you want to tip. Last but not least you can also tap “no tip”. This is almost necessary, especially since - as already mentioned - it is purely self-service. “Dear” tenants: pay your staff properly and cook better.
