We had lunch at this restaurant today through a club. The menu was pre-selected by the club and consisted of roast pork with crackling, red cabbage, mixed vegetables, potatoes, and an unidentifiable light gravy. The roast pork was a soggy, flabby roast (the crackling was missing). Then, at the end, we were served smoked pork neck – although we hadn't ordered it, there was no indication that the meat was changing. The waiter was an absolute nightmare. The dessert was the highlight – ice cream with warm cherries.

We were a bus group going for roast goose. Everything went perfectly. The service was attentive and efficient. The food was very good, plentiful, and delicious.

I had kale and my wife had duck. Both were delicious.

We were here with the Möller coach company from Neumünster. There was plenty of asparagus with hollandaise sauce or butter, along with ham or schnitzel and potatoes. In the afternoon, we enjoyed cake and coffee. The staff was excellent. They even refilled my empty thermos with tea for the journey home. All in all, it was a good decision to stop here. Candles from the Walsrode manufactory were on display and available for purchase.

We went to this restaurant today with a group of friends for roast goose. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the food. I can highly recommend this restaurant to others. I wish the owner and his team all the best. Best regards, Werner 😊

We visited for the first time today and were absolutely thrilled. The service was incredibly fast and friendly, and the food actually brought back childhood memories. It tastes just like Grandma's cooking – everything is fresh and homemade. We'll definitely be back. The rustic and very cozy atmosphere completes the experience!

A quietly located inn. We enjoyed a delicious carp cooked in blue sauce. The service was very friendly and attentive. It's also a suitable venue for larger events.

We took the bus to eat kale. Friendly service and excellent food. They even offered plenty of sweets. Delicious large slices of cake were offered with our coffee. We'd be happy to come back.

A long-established café. The lovingly landscaped forest park with stone seating is beautiful, and next to it is a true biotope on the Fulde River. A paradise for nature lovers! The Heath Museum is just a few meters away and worth a visit. A worthwhile excursion! However, I would have liked more than just two types of cake at such a well-known restaurant!

We stopped by spontaneously after our visit to the bird park. Despite the tables being full, there was no problem accommodating us. Very friendly and attentive staff, the food was absolutely fantastic, and the value for money was also excellent. Highly recommended 👍👍. We'd go back anytime!!!!!

Yes. For bus groups with elderly or disabled guests sitting outside, the buffet is a bit difficult to reach, with only two steps.

We were here for lunch and coffee and cake during a day trip. There was roast pork and beef with potatoes, vegetables, and cream sauce. The only good thing was the potatoes. The sauce tasted like it came from a can. And the roast beef was dusty, even with the sauce. It could be better... And unfortunately, the restrooms at some stations are cleaner and more modern. A shame, but the location is nice. I hope the à la carte menu is better.

I eat it with asparagus, ham, and schnitzel. It's served with asparagus soup. Perfect.

We've eaten at Eckernworth twice recently. The first time, the mood after the visit wasn't the best. The taste, selection, and service were flawless, but it's simply unbelievable that you wouldn't think the size of this vegetarian plate was a joke, and then they try to justify it! This is simply not possible. By that time, however, we had already reserved my high school graduation dinner here, and we came back for this occasion and were completely impressed. The waiter claimed to be a trained restaurateur and let his expertise run wild, so we were thoroughly entertained for hours. Many different dishes found their way to our table (the vegetarian plate was definitely not one of them!), and satisfaction was palpable everywhere. Everything was even eaten, which is surprising considering the number of people and the average age. This remains the reason for only four stars: the price-performance ratio isn't right everywhere.

Yes, I can highly recommend this place. We were there for a barbecue. Very friendly and cheerful staff. Thank you for the happy day.

Cozy atmosphere right on the edge of the forest at the end of the museum houses. Absolutely beautiful. You are always welcomed in a friendly manner, absolutely familiar and you immediately feel at home... Super delicious rustic cuisine or just an ice cream or homemade cake, the Waldgaststätte Eckernworth is simply a piece of home for us.

The food is good and the atmosphere is cozy. Great beer garden and the staff was also very friendly. You can also go for a run and there is also a great playground.

Food and service are first class

December 26, 2024, 5 people Menu 1, wedding soup, deer with chanterelles, green beans and croquettes and vanilla ice cream with hot cherries. Sounds good, but it wasn't. The roast venison was very dry, the sauce was completely tasteless, gray in color, thickened with a lot of moonshine, and the chanterelles were mushy. Soup and ice cream was good. 5 people all agree, we don't need to go here again.

The food is really great and the service is also good But we can talk again about the prices for drinks, I personally find them far too expensive, but the food is a pleasant price.

We were on the way home in Bremen and wanted to stop for dinner again. We found the place via Google. We weren't disappointed, the nice gentleman who served us was just great, friendly, courteous and professional. Our little extra requests when ordering food were immediately addressed. We liked the food very much and felt very comfortable. We will certainly come back, thank you for the nice hospitality.

Service was nice, friendly and quick. If there is a restaurant where the coach tour stops, you will notice that because many guests have to be served quickly in a short space of time and they don't have a long stay. Therefore the food was a little bland. Portions are a reasonable size.

We were on a day trip with Polster and Pohl to the Lüneburg Heath and had lunch here. There was a group of over forty people... We were served an excellent lunch. There was beef roulade with red cabbage, potatoes and croquettes as well as a tasty gravy. All participants were very satisfied. The team and atmosphere are also appealing, and the supply of drinks was smooth and quick.

Leider war das Essen nicht so gut, wir hatten den Heidschnuckenbraten und der war total verknorpelt, die Portion sehr wenig und nicht lecker. Für diesen Preis nicht akzeptabel.

Bin seht enttäuscht das Brot war durchgeweicht und nur Fettwurst drauf, der Apfelkuchen mit Guss lag aufeinander und hat man ein Stück genommen klebte es von anderen Teil dran So etwas habe ich noch nicht erlebt es war Kaffee trinken nach einer Beerdigung Am 2.07.2024 Dann hat eine weibliche Person rum erzählt wieviel Leute ich zum Kaffee eingeladen habe Ich selber habe über 30 Jahre bei Herbert Koop gekellnert wir durfen nichts davon erzählen Bin ganz enttäuscht und werde es nicht weiter empfehlen so ein Dreck was uns wieder fahren ist

The food is average quality. However it is a convenient place if you are in the area since the options are limited here. They accept big groups of people .

We ate here in the evening while traveling through. We arrived at around 7:45 p.m. The kitchen was just open and the restaurant closed at 9 p.m. The food came quickly, was good, but nothing special. We had Jägerschnitzel with fries, giant currywurst with fries, cordon bleu with fries and smoked trout (from our own pond) with scrambled eggs and fried potatoes. The location of the restaurant is sensational. We sat outside, sheltered from the wind and with a view of the surrounding trees/forest. This is how you end an evening.

We went to eat matjes with a bus company at the Waldgaststätte Eckernworth. There were also warm dishes such as cod, herring, heather lamb and potato salad, sauces and fresh salads

Very tasty German cuisine. We always enjoy going there. The restaurant is in the forest. There is a large parking lot in front of it. Behind the restaurant you can go for a wonderful walk in the forest.

Bus travelers are probably mostly catered for here. Different themes at different times of the year

Excellent service and the tasty food served wonderfully, hot and quickly. Very child-friendly with an extra card for the youngest and an adjoining adventure playground. We adults had the wedding soup, home-smoked trout and liver from the Heidschnucke (from our own herd). All highly recommended!

It became impossible, we were there on a bike and it was full. If we wanted to sit opposite us in the beer garden it was okay too. Then we were asked if we just wanted to drink something or eat something too. We also wanted to eat, a short time later we were told that there would be a free table on the terrace, the guests had paid, so we did. Until then, we hadn't even been asked if we wanted something to drink. Then we got up again but the other guests were still sitting there and a lady then lit a cigarette, well and that was it, we drove off again. In retrospect, we had the impression that the waiter didn't want to come over to the beer garden. The forest restaurant used to be great, but today it's just a flop. So no longer recommended. It's a shame actually.

We were there with a SOVD tour group. Everything, food, drink, toilet, staff and ambience fit perfectly and was served at short notice. We had booked plenty of asparagus and we were offered plenty of asparagus. This house is highly recommended.

Cozy rural atmosphere with warm hospitality Our visit to this rural inn was a real pleasure. The fireplace room radiated a cozy warmth and invited you to linger. The atmosphere was so cozy that you immediately felt at home. The food was delicious and offered a selection of good, home-style dishes that not only tasted good but were also presented in a visually appealing way. Every bite was a treat for the senses. Although the covered terrace in front of the entrance offers a nice option for al fresco dining, we don't find it quite as comfortable. It's pretty tight. But that is certainly a matter of taste. The staff deserve special praise for their quick and extremely friendly service. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome. Overall great, we are already looking forward to coming back soon.
