Wir (2 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder) waren nach unserer Wanderung hier essen. Alles hat für uns gepasst. Gutes Essen, freundliches Personal, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir empfehlen es ganz klar und kommen gerne wieder.

Wir sind zu Fuß zu diesem Restaurant gegangen und waren begeistert – ein toller Ausflug, perfekt für den Sommer! Wir waren eine Gruppe von acht Personen, Erwachsene und Jugendliche. Das Essen war von guter Qualität und der Service erstklassig! Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich, schnell und organisiert.

Das Essen ist einfach und frisch, unprätentiös und passt perfekt zur Umgebung. Im Sommer sind keine Reservierungen im Außenbereich möglich, und der Service endet pünktlich um 19:00 Uhr. Kommen Sie also rechtzeitig. Ich habe das Restaurant per E-Mail kontaktiert und eine sehr freundliche Antwort erhalten, sodass wir über die Situation informiert waren – perfekt! Die Hauptattraktion ist eindeutig die Lage inmitten der Berge – einfach traumhaft!

Extrem kinderunfreundlich! Unserem 18 Monate alten Kind wurde hier das Trinken aus der eigenen Trinklasche verboten (Zitat „Der Chef will das nicht, es gibt Ärger“). Auch ein Räuberteller war nicht erwünscht. Ein absolut unentspanntes und familienunfreundliches Erlebnis. Uns ist der Appetit vergangen. Nie wieder.

Dieses Juwel im Schwarzwald bietet ein einzigartiges kulinarisches Erlebnis inmitten der Natur. Hier genießen Sie regionale Produkte und traditionell zubereitete Gerichte, umgeben von Wald. Ein Parkplatz befindet sich in der Nähe, von wo aus Sie das Restaurant nach einem kurzen Spaziergang bergab erreichen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Getränke waren in Ordnung, die Stühle im Innenraum waren hochgestellt, komischer Eindruck. Die Bedienung war einfach unverschämt und unangemessen, werden demnächst ein Bogen um dieses Lokal machen. Schade

Wir haben dieses Restaurant während einer Wanderung am Geroldsauer Wasserfall besucht. Leider war die Erfahrung äußerst enttäuschend. Zunächst wurden wir mit der Aussage, dass wir in etwa 15 Minuten einen Tisch bekommen würden, draußen warten gelassen. Am Ende standen wir jedoch fast eine Stunde in der Mittagssonne. Nachdem wir endlich einen Tisch bekommen hatten, mussten wir weitere 30 Minuten warten, nur um unsere Bestellung aufzugeben. Mehrfach versuchten wir, das Personal anzusprechen. Statt die Bestellung aufzunehmen, bekamen wir lediglich die Antwort: „Meine Kollegen werden Ihnen helfen.“ Nachdem wir schließlich bestellen konnten, dauerte es nochmals etwa 40 Minuten, bis das Essen serviert wurde. Als wir bezahlen wollten, mussten wir erneut rund 30 Minuten auf einen Mitarbeiter warten. Der unangenehmste Teil des Besuchs kam jedoch bei der Bezahlung. Die Bedienung begann aktiv nach Trinkgeld zu fragen. Als niemand aus unserer Gruppe Trinkgeld geben wollte, wurde ihr Ton zunehmend unfreundlich. Zu mir sagte sie schließlich: „Ich weiß nicht, was man in der Türkei macht, aber in diesem Land geben die Menschen aus Höflichkeit 4–5 Euro Trinkgeld.“ Nach mehreren Stunden Wartezeit für nahezu jeden Schritt des Besuchs empfand ich diese Bemerkung als völlig unangebracht. Trinkgeld ist eine freiwillige Anerkennung für guten Service und keine Verpflichtung. Wenn Gäste stundenlang warten müssen, sollte man Verständnis dafür haben, dass nicht jeder bereit ist, zusätzlich Geld zu geben. Schade, denn die Lage des Restaurants ist sehr schön. Der Service hat unseren Besuch jedoch komplett überschattet.

Nicht empfehlenswert. Hatte heute einen Salatteller mit Putenstreifen bestellt. Dieser bestand aus nicht frischem grünem Salat, drei unreifen Tomatenecken, drei Gurkenscheiben, zwei Oliven und ein paar Zwiebelscheiben. Die Putenstücke waren ausgetrocknet und schmeckten nach garnichts. Alles in allem total lieblos hergerichtet, geschmacklose Salatsoße, die man suchen musste. Also mein Enkelsohn hätte das besser hinbekommen. Das war der miserabelste Salatteller ever. Saftschorle muss man aus der Flasche trinken, man bekommt nicht mal ein Glas angeboten. Das ganze hatte mich dann 21€ gekostet, eine Schande für den Mist.

Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal – hier fühlt man sich direkt wohl. Alles gut organisiert und dazu gibt es wunderschöne Plätze draußen, perfekt zum entspannten Essen in toller Atmosphäre nach einer Wanderung oder als idealer Zwischenstopp.

10/10 Ich glaube, ich habe noch nie ein besseres Restaurant-Erlebnis gehabt. Es gab so vieles, was mir gefallen hat, dass ich es gar nicht alles aufzählen kann.

Wir waren dort zu einer Geburtstagsfeier und das Essen war hervorragend, der Service freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!

Eine kleine Hütte mit einem schönen Außenbereich. Hier wird man mit allerlei Speisen und Getränken versorgt. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und die Location ist richtig schön.

Ich bewerte hier den Biergarten. Essen ein Stern, und hier meine ich nicht MichelinSterne. Werft einen Blick auf das Menü (Schiefertafel im Bild). Laugenstange und ein Stück Butter. Die Laugenstange hatte schon etwas Feuchtigkeit gezogen. Service etwas vorlaut. Ambiente lädt nicht zum langen Verweilen ein. In Summe dann zwei Sterne für die schöne Natur Vogelgezwitscher bei rauschenden Bach und Sonnenschein.

Wir waren am Wochenende mit einer Gruppe zum Fondue-Essen hier und sind absolut begeistert! Sowohl das Käse- als auch das Fleischfondue waren hervorragend – alles war perfekt abgestimmt und unglaublich lecker. Auch die Beilagen waren frisch und sehr gut ausgewählt. Die Weine haben den Abend wunderbar abgerundet und waren ebenfalls von ausgezeichneter Qualität. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir aber den Service: Die Bedienung war einfach klasse – aufmerksam, herzlich und professionell. Man hat sich vom ersten Moment an rundum willkommen und wohlgefühlt. Vielen Dank für diesen wunderschönen Abend – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Familientreffen 2025 mit 40 Personen. Ein ganz herzliches Dankeschön Herrn Adrian und sein gesamtes Team für den unvergesslichen Nachmittag am Bütthof. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das sehr leckere Essen und Natascha, deren liebevolle Betreuung und Eingehen auf sämtliche Sonderwünsche – bis zu dem liebevollen Umgang mit stürmischen Kindern – einfach KLASSE war. Euer Einsatz hat den Tag für alle zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Vielen Dank für die tolle Gastfreundschaft und den hervorragenden Service. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Wiedersehen! Auch die Absprachen zur Vorbereitung der Feier, mit Herrn Adrian waren sehr professionell, sehr geduldig und ausgesprochen nett! Immer wieder und 100 Prozent weiterzuempfehlen!

We were here with our club for our Christmas party and had a wonderful evening. The torchlight hike was fantastic. After the mulled wine reception, we enjoyed a delicious fondue in a cozy atmosphere. Everything was perfectly organized – we felt very comfortable.

Everything was perfect! From the trailhead parking lot, we followed the stream (very beautiful) to the hut, enjoyed a good meal and drinks, and then hiked back. It's definitely worth it. See you on January 2nd for the torchlight hike and fondue dinner!

The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. The drinks and food were delicious. A place you'll definitely want to return to. 😊

If cheese fondue were an Olympic sport, the Bütthof would have won gold! Simply sensational! We were welcomed so warmly that we almost felt like part of the kitchen crew – just without the work. The service was, as always, friendly, attentive, and genuinely charming. An evening that warmed not only the stomach but also the heart. We'll be back!!

There were four of us, and we participated in a guided torchlight hike. Afterwards, we had meat and cheese fondue with potatoes, salad, and various sauces. Everything was of very high quality and extremely tasty. The innkeeper, who also led the hike, was incredibly nice. All the staff were also absolutely friendly and competent. Highly recommended; I will definitely be back in the summer.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars The Bötthof Forest Inn in Baden-Baden absolutely delighted us. We had a wonderful table and enjoyed a fantastic fondue – fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. The hosts were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. You feel welcome and completely at ease there from the very first moment. A definite recommendation! We will gladly return.

I was very disappointed with my visit to the Bütthof forest inn. The service was incredibly rude; the waitress simply snatched the thermos of water out of my hand instead of politely asking me to put it away. Such behavior is disrespectful and inappropriate. The pumpkin soup contains ginger, by the way, which isn't mentioned on the menu—this should definitely be noted! Overall, the service was very poor; we felt that guests weren't welcome. We all felt uncomfortable and certainly won't be returning.

We had a wonderful stay here a few days ago. For dinner, we had fondue. Besides the usual meats, they also offer game for fondue. It was something truly special and definitely worth trying. The service was incredibly friendly. We were very well looked after all evening. They have a great selection of wines, and yes, the owner is a legend ;)

Super cozy dining room! The owner is very friendly, thoughtful, but pleasantly unobtrusive. The restaurant is a cozy place to feel at home; we had a cozy corner. Quaintly modern. The menu was straightforward but plentiful and appealing. We were very satisfied with the extremely tasty and generously portioned food, which was presented in a very promising way. The taste and quality were excellent! The terrace/beer garden would also be great in the summer. Highly recommended! 😀

As Dutch people who don't speak German very well, we were kindly helped in English, had a little chat, and enjoyed the good food. We chose the currywurst, which came with a really tasty sauce. A Coke and a Radler were also included. You pay for the restroom without consumption, but they serve delicious, affordable drinks and pastries or ice cream.

We were here with our grandchildren the other day. Unfortunately, it was closed. We'll be back and update our review afterwards.

We came here for a drink and some snacks. The food was fine, but the service wasn't! If you're not fluent in German, the staff is very unfriendly.

Racist and unbelievably rude staff. We popped into the restaurant to consider eating and use the bathroom after a long hike, happily paying the 2 euro that it costs to access the bathroom. We paid before entering while my husband asked a few questions about the food and beer. After paying and using the bathroom we decided to return to the cafe after we finished the rest of the hike for food. As we were leaving, a man from the staff ran up to us yelling and accusing us of stealing the 2 Euro for the bathroom. We politely told him we didn’t which was confirmed by other staff. Him, very embarrassed that he wrongly accused us, continued to scream and yell and throw a tantrum asking us to leave which is exactly what we were trying to do. Extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional!

It's always a stop on the Geroldsauer Waterfalls hike. Cozy, fresh food straight from the grill, and friendly service. It couldn't be better. Highly recommended.

My absolute insider tip!! Is the beautiful hiking trail to the Geroldsauer Waterfalls & a warm stop at the Bütthof. The hiking trail is stunningly beautiful – varied, well-signposted, and with magnificent views. The route isn't too long, making it ideal for a relaxing half-day trip – perfectly doable with dogs and children. The stop at the Bütthof was the icing on the cake: The food is freshly prepared with love, and you can taste the quality in every bite. I'd especially like to highlight the dessert – all homemade! The chocolate brownie was simply delicious – slightly crispy on the outside, wonderfully moist on the inside. This is how a perfect day of hiking should end. We'll definitely be back!

The Bütthof can be reached either from the parking lot on the B500 via the waterfalls or via Geroldsauerstrasse, which runs through the forest in the upper section, to the Bütthof. In winter, the Bütthof offers a wonderful hut-like experience with its legendary fondue. Groups can also book a guided torchlit hike along the forest path past the waterfalls. A hit! We've enjoyed this several times, and it's always great.

Anyone visiting the Geroldsauer Waterfalls should stop here! Very nice, small beer garden. Very tasty food, very friendly staff who make a lot of effort. We've been here several times, and this certainly won't be the last.

Beautifully located forest tavern right next to it. The Highland Cattles live on a large pasture. But now to the most important food, service is always great. We eat there 3-4 times every year and enjoy this moment. Prices are reasonable. We find it rather cheap compared to others.

Just the path there is wonderful. Easy to walk, yet somehow wild. Always along the stream, especially great in spring. In summer, the path invites you to stretch your legs in the water. Arrived at the Bütthof, friendly people, a cold wheat. Thank you very much ☺️

We had a really nice evening here: fondue beef & chicken + wild boar & deer - simply delicious, the three dips were delicious and we also had the salad and fries topped up 😬 The dessert was also fabulous! The service was friendly, the boss also joined us briefly: you feel very welcome!

After our walk we stopped there with our dog. Very nicely and rustically furnished. Rather small but that makes it comfortable. The owner is very friendly and also talks to the guests. Was just the right thing after hiking/walking!

On the website it says that the restaurant is open today but unfortunately only for private groups. I was really looking forward to it after a 10km hike, which is a shame :(

All the dishes are truly delicious, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is really pleasant. We visit Baden-Baden every winter, and now we have one more reason to come back to Baden-Baden. Wunderbar!

Ich war total enttäuscht,dass die Schwarzwälder Torte nicht 40x 40 cm gross war. Das Personal war nicht so geschult wie in einem Luxusresort in der Türkei wo ich nur 200 € für 14 Tage all inclusive bezahlt habe. Mein SUV konnte nicht direkt am Lokal geparkt werden. Der Wasserfall war viel zu laut, das hat mich beim Handysurfen doch sehr abgelenkt........und die Bedienung hat mich nicht mit" von " angesprochen.......... Im Ernst, die Meckerer gehen mir echt auf den Senkel. Das Personal am Bütthof war sehr flink ,freundlich, Humor hatten sie auch noch....was ja nicht jeder versteht. Ich gehe gerne nach dem Wandern dort einkehren. Vielleicht sollte ein Psychtherapeut vor Ort sein um die Bekloppten zu therapieren.

Totally cute beer garden in a cute spot near the Geroldsau waterfall. Ideal for a little refreshment or snack before/after hiking. The service was super nice, we had a snack plate that I still rave about today. Really great and appetizingly prepared and delicious. I have the inn on my radar now and would love to come back.

Fine restaurant near the Geroldsau waterfall. Beautiful, sheltered outdoor area. The menu impresses with a small but good selection of dishes, especially regional cuisine. Daily dishes expand the offering. Very friendly staff. Well-developed but steep footpath from the nearby parking lot.

Nach einem Rundgang eine kleine Pause hier gemacht. Ganz ok für eine Kaffeepause. Der Apfelstrudel war ok aber auch nichts besonderes.

Very pleasant wall restaurant at the Gerolauer waterfall. The food and drinks were great, the staff was attentive and the prices were reasonable. I would like to go there again.

On Tuesday we sought shelter under the Bütthof umbrellas because it was raining heavily and the inn was closed. Then the owner came and offered us a ride to the parking lot to the car, which we gratefully accepted, thank you again

We were very disappointed. A few years ago the food at Bütthof was very good. This Sunday it was an imposition. Almost only fast food on the menu. Bratwurst with fries, potato salad or fried potatoes. Only two vegetarian dishes (soy bratwurst, gratinated goat cheese), otherwise salad. I then decided on the fried potatoes, but they don't deserve the name. They were wobbly, overly browned and inedible. They were probably so heavily seasoned to mask the disgusting taste. Not recommendable.

Very good food, super-friendly service, all in all a great visit. We would love to come back five star deluxe!!!

After a beautiful hike along the panoramic path near Geroldsau and marveling at the Geroldsau waterfall, we stopped here. Idyllically located forest restaurant with warm service and always the slight sound of water in the background. The food was great and everything was processed quickly. We'd love to come back. Thank you for the hospitality.

Beautiful turning point during a hike along a Black Forest stream with a small waterfall. Delicious food is served here. Cakes and various drinks can also be found on the menu. For the outlying community of Baden-Baden, the prices were still affordable. Reservation is recommended. We would like to come again.

If there were an extra star 🌟 for charming owners...it would be in the right place here...a very successful evening with fondue and cheese fondue after a hike...it's great that there are also first-class wines... Although the house wines are already of high quality...fondues were both very tasty 😋..everything was great! Only recommended!

I'm not much of a fondue fan, but I was still very full. Great old building right by the rushing stream, nice staff and pleasant prices. Pro tip: if you are the last to leave, the starry sky is amazing.

I'll just say one thing: at Bütthof you get the best cheese spaetzle in the world! No lie!

A dinner at Bütthof is always nice. Just driving down the dark path to the back, the cell phone reception is almost zero and then you see the illuminated restaurant below. Once you get there you always feel extremely taken care of and comfortable. We almost always eat the delicious fondue. Absolutely recommended. The service is also courteous and always up for a joke.

We first went on a torchlight hike past the waterfalls with a small group. An employee from Bütthof ran it. After a mulled wine outside there was fondue inside. I would argue that nothing more is possible. The service was also great.

A mega great inn surrounded by a fantastic landscape. The owner and his wife are great hosts and it always feels like a family visit.
