The room was cozy and clean, the restaurant next to the guesthouse is unfortunately currently closed and therefore a bit unkempt. Right next to the Bismarck Tower, very idyllic and secluded. A great view of the valley. The breakfast was rich and good. The only small thing was that the landlady couldn't be reached by phone when we arrived.

New tenant with a new concept from summer! I'm looking forward to the coming season and would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the fact that it will take a little patience until we can open.

You could sit here with a great view, everything actually seems quite nice. However, I sat at the table for almost half an hour without anyone from the service showing up. Then I looked in and didn't see anyone. I called loudly, no response. There was still an “open” sign in front of the entrance. It wasn't Monday or Tuesday (rest day). So I couldn't find out what it's really like here. Next time I'll bring something to drink and eat myself. Because you're sitting really nicely and there's no one there who could be bothered by you taking care of yourself. There are tigers in an enclosure in the garden.

Our wedding 2023: In July of this year we celebrated our wedding on the Waldeck with a party of around 60 people. For this we used the covered entrance area including the bar and the outdoor area. There is a music system and the staff there is very committed and friendly. In addition to drinks, we also ordered finger foods (venison burgers, various other snacks, various desserts). These were very well made and tasted delicious. Value for money is very good, the view and atmosphere is just wow! If you want to celebrate relaxed and worry-free, you're doing everything right here. After prior coordination (we requested in writing and then refined the offer on site) everything worked wonderfully. We also ordered a champagne reception for the registry office in Ingelheim. Everything worked fine here too. The self-produced sparkling wine is extremely good (we also drink it at home), and the Spundekäse with pretzels was very tasty. Gladly again!

The review refers to the restaurant. After a long time and after the change of ownership we visited the restaurant. There were a few tables occupied outside and a few inside. So overall it's not that busy. However, taking into account the limited staff and the information already given by the owner due to staff problems, this is probably sufficient for the restaurant. The service is very attentive. It is not clear to the guest why the hand cheese dish is served together with wild ham. Especially since it was normal Black Forest ham and the hand cheese only had an oil dressing. In the end, they couldn't find the vinegar. The other guests' other dishes were also rather sufficient or mediocre. This should be a constructive criticism or evaluation and should be understood as such.

A really nice and relaxing guesthouse with a fantastic view. Our room, which was really inviting, had a coffee machine, a kettle, drinking cups and a small refrigerator. The shower room in this room was outside our room and was very spacious and clean. Since our room could be reached via an outside staircase, I would have liked to have known beforehand that this staircase was a lattice staircase that I could see through; for people like me who are afraid of heights, that was a shock. I survived it. The breakfast was absolutely adequate and the quality was good. We would book at Waldeck again at any time!

I would like to share my experience regarding a planned wedding at Waldeck. My fiancée and I contacted us in mid-February and announced our intention to have a wedding there in mid-August 23. After a few very pragmatic phone conversations, we had a great appointment in which 2.5 hours were taken to show us the location, taste wines and show us options. It was a great appointment and we agreed shortly afterwards. We received an initial offer two weeks later with enough time to finalize everything between the location and us. From here it was all downhill! We sent our change requests via email and received no feedback. First the computer was broken - then a short vacation. But okay, we accepted. Then from March 23rd to May 6th no response Now a new employee comes forward and presents the updated offer. We would like to discuss everything with him from now on, even though the offer itself was not made by him. His statement -> He does something completely different anyway. Said and done. The request to please specify the flat rate price for food and location (differentiate location with service etc. from food per person) was simply ignored several times. As if I never asked for it...cheeky and not professional. Since we now had a very bad feeling and had gone out into the country for a few days, we simply drove to Waldeck. There we find out that our contact person is seriously ill. So we set off again after a meal with best wishes for recovery. Now the third “responsible person” comes forward. Here, too, I still can't get a proper price breakdown and have to keep digging into this "for me obvious" topic. On June 6th I then receive the information that the calculation of an event using a “sophisticated” Excel table is difficult to understand - but then I received the prices, which were expensive for the food but ok. Finally. To be honest, we were just amazed and we can no longer speak of a beautiful wedding preparation. Due to the high price of wine from our point of view (nowhere else is the wine from the producer cheaper than here and we know the prices) we suggested bringing our own wine. That's why we asked the question about corkage fees, which "how could it be otherwise" was set so high that there was no advantage here. On the contrary - no storage costs - no delivery costs. I am at a loss for words! Rather, we were put under pressure to please sign now, as the demand for events is very high...we have an offer with a binding deadline and there were still 11 days left. When we pointed this out, we received the following response: “then give yourself another week with your reduced advance payment (which Waldeck had kindly granted us)”. Finally, I contacted our first contact very respectfully and expressed our dissatisfaction. My request, after a 4-eye exchange, she wanted to check and never contacted me again. So 6 weeks before the wedding we had to accept that there would be no wedding there and had to waste all the effort and costs on invitations etc. in advance. We were warned by one or the other and had to pay our dues. Waldeck – Never again! Addendum 08/02/23 Since I can't comment on the owner's comments, I'll say a few words after his answer. A careful reading of my review shows that you haven't even dealt with it properly. On the one hand, your statements are incorrect, factually incorrect, cheeky, contradictory and extremely presumptuous. I'll leave it at this, even though it's very difficult for me P.S.: Maybe accept the criticism and take it as an opportunity!
