Bomb Käsespätzle - that was way over priced (22,50€). Great quality, chewy think cut not pressed. Like it should be, just spendy. Also, this place looks like it's in a forest, but you drive right up to it and it's right next to the train tracks... Atmosphere is still nice, beer was german, price is atypical for german, self service.

Very nice place to have something to eat and drink. We were at a nearby camper spot and were surprised. We had a very tasty meal and the atmosphere was very good.

The beer garden is one of the most beautiful I know. The operator seems to put a lot of effort into creating a little paradise in the forest. Self-service is a bit inconvenient as you have to queue up for each beer. This can take as little as 20 minutes. The menu offers small dishes at prices that are barely affordable. Yes, unfortunately the prices are extremely exorbitant, so even though you're hungry you think twice about ordering something. In the end, you forego it. Too bad! Otherwise, the beer garden is a clear recommendation.

We stopped here after a long drive and were a bit disoriented, no matter how we looked. The employees noticed us but they didn't speak to us, not even directly at the checkout... The menu is catastrophic to read and the prices are way too high! It's not really quiet either, as the beer garden is right next to the train tracks. We left without eating or drinking anything there.

After we stopped in for a beer for the first time yesterday, we were drawn back again today with our friends. Beautiful ambience, friendly welcome and the currywurst was also very tasty! Thank you very much and we will definitely come back! PS: The website could perhaps need a small update. It doesn't do justice to the great restaurant and there is no access by public transport.

Beer garden located on the Villerand, correspondingly rustic ambience; an institution in Erftstadt. Prices are definitely “sporty”: 0.5 liters of beer for €6.00. But you're sitting in the countryside. 😉. Self-service, but the food is brought to the table!

I'm there with a friend right now. The ambience is beautiful, you hardly notice the train line right next to it. Delicious beers and an extensive menu round off the offering, and there is access to a small playground right next to the beer garden. For those who come by bike, there is even the option of renting a bike lock. We had the beer goulash. The meat was more than tender and, together with the sauce, very well seasoned and seasoned. You're already looking forward to the next time. I also find the prices, which seem to be too high for some people, to be reasonable. I can only recommend the location.

We were there on a Sunday lunchtime. The beer garden is beautifully located and invites you to stop. There are plenty of seating options. The prices are very high. Drinks apparently only come in 0.5L jugs. A Pepsicola costs a whopping €6.00. Spritzers and alcoholic drinks are correspondingly more expensive. The menu is available via QR code or on simple sheets. Unfortunately, it is relatively difficult to read because many different fonts are used. Think about it here... As mentioned above, the prices are quite high. You can only get Jägerschnitzel, fries and salad for €24.50 when there is little going on. Only children can eat fries with bratwurst here for €9.50. A pity. The food looked very good. If it weren't for the high prices I would give more stars.

The food was extremely delicious. The beer goulash melted in your mouth. The sauce that came with it was pleasantly spicy. The sauce for the crispy schnitzel is amazing. Everything fresh and to the point. The service was friendly. Although it was quite busy, the food came in a reasonable time and was accompanied with a smile. I talked to the owner afterwards and thanked him for having such an institution and being run by people who put their heart and soul into it. Cheers!

Price performance ratio is not right, very overpriced and unkempt.

I can only agree with Jakob. Beer for €6, which you have to get yourself and have to wait in line for ages, is actually overpriced and wheat and other beers even come from the bottle and it's not there. I also ask myself what the quality is of a plate of nachos with cheese and jalapeno for €9.50 or a pan of fries with ketchup and mayo. Which are brought to the table, but you have to order them beforehand after waiting in line for a long time. The really positive thing about the beer garden is the nature around it. But I can sit on a bench in the forest with bottles of beer and a bag of cheese nachos for less than €5. To anticipate it. We won't be coming back either. The forest beer garden is quite popular in this area. What is often a bit annoying is the long queue in front of the order and drinks counter. There are only large glasses and so you get the glass of wine in a "tankard" which is a bit inappropriate... I think the prices are quite high for this location. 2 x curry sausage pan with fries and mayonnaise, 1 glass of wine and 1 apple spritzer 41 euros... The currywurst and also the (high-priced) salads etc. are very tasty. The furnishings are simple, mostly beer table sets. There are few cushions for the wooden benches. Most of the tables are under umbrellas or in open tents, which also provide good protection against rain. There are also a few swings and garden chairs, a little more comfortable... The service is usually on point and they handle the many orders very well. Parking directly in front of the entrance is limited. The staircase to the entrance to the garden restaurant is rather difficult for people with disabilities. Dogs are generally welcome.

The prices are astronomical. However, the quality has declined rapidly. The overwhelmed service cannot find the tables and carries the food around until it is cold. We had the crispy schnitzel and the salad with beef steak. Total cost for both is around €50. A 0.5l light beer costs €6. The schnitzel and fries were lukewarm upon arrival and soon cold. The side salad was bland and tasteless. The large salad with strips of beef steak was also bland. The steak wasn't fried whole and then cut into strips, but rather the strips were fried which meant the desired medium consistency was damned. But the highlight was the waiting time of over an hour and a half. When asked repeatedly, no specific information was given and instead the answer was that the tickets of less experienced colleagues were sometimes mixed up. We were there for the last time today. It's a shame about the actually beautiful location and the "hearty" atmosphere. By the way, the table is cleared away even though someone is still eating. And then with the words “Should this go away?”

Die Preise sind astronomisch. Dafür hat die Qualität rapide abgenommen. Der überforderte Service findet die Tische nicht und trägt das Essen so lange spazieren bis es kalt ist. Wir hatten das Knusperschnitzel und den Salat mit Rindersteak. Kostenfaktor für beides gesamt ca. 50€. Ein 0,5l Helles kostet 6 €. Das Schnitzel und Pommes waren bei der Ankunft lauwarm und bald kalt. Der Beilagensalat war laff und geschmacksneutral. Der große Salat mit Rindersteakstreifen war ebenfalls laff. Das Steak war nicht im ganzen gebraten und dann in Sterifen geschnitten, sondern die Streifen wurden gebraten wodurch die gewünschte Medium-Konsistenz zum Teufel war. Die Spitze war aber die Wartezeit von über anderthalb Stunden. Auf mehrfaches Nachfragen wurde keine konkrete Auskunft gegeben und stattdessen geantwortet, dass die Tickets von weniger erfahrenen Kollegen schon mal vermischt werden. Wir waren heute zum letzten mal dort. Schade um die eigentlich schöne Location und das „herzhafte“ Ambiente. Übrigens wird der Tisch schon mal abgeräumt, obwohl noch jemand isst. Und dann mit den Worten „Soll das weg?“.

Just reading the owner's comments among the negative reviews is a great experience. I can agree 100% with the 1 star reviews when it comes to pricing. Both drinks and food are completely overpriced. For this reason I stopped eating it. Update: The owner also doesn't seem to know that the catering industry is a service industry and that the sound makes the music! I can only strongly advise everyone not to visit, there is nothing in this beer garden that would make it worth coming. P.S. I don't know if I offered you the "you"!

Yes, it's really nice here and idyllic. But: Nothing special - that applies to the food as well as the location. What is special, however, are the prices. These border on the ridiculous. 10 for fries? 35€ for a simple rump steak? 25€ for salad? 20€ for a baked potato? Are we here in Ibiza?! Absolutely incomprehensible how the price screw has to be so over-inflated. Next time we'll go to an upscale restaurant in downtown Cologne...for cost reasons.

We have been looking for a cozy beer garden under the trees in the Cologne and Rhein-Erft district region for a long time, like you can find in Bavaria/Franconia - now we have found the forest beer garden, which we think is the most beautiful one we know in the region. The food was excellent and arrived at the table very quickly. The prices are a bit higher, especially if you compare them to the extremely cheap prices in Franconia (you can sometimes get a 0.5l beer for €3 and a lunch for a good €10), in the forest beer garden around €20 for (admittedly very tasty) cheese spaetzle is a different house number. We thought the €24 for the schnitzel was reasonable because it was really excellent. It's also fair to say that even for low double-digit amounts you could have gotten food that would have fed at least one person. 6€ for 0.5l beer is not a bargain when self-service, but the (partially) served Engel beer is also very good and regularly wins prizes. Engel beer is also a lot more expensive to buy than, for example, Kölsch. For the atmosphere that reminds us of good times in Franconian beer gardens, it's worth it to us, we'll definitely come back.

Don’t go there if you are with your bike! The bearded waiter was very rude and unreasonable unpleasant. He refused to allowed my road bike upstairs even in places where obviously don’t bothers anyone. A place to avoid!

A super nice, well-attended beer garden, delicious beers, food is also great and on the outskirts of Liblar in the municipality of Erftstadt. Easy to reach whether by bike or by car. This place is located in a beautiful green spot - with more than enough parking spaces. Wooden tables, beautiful surroundings, large glasses of beer, tasty food: this is how a beer garden should be. 🍻

It has something special that is untidy in need of renovation and rustic, naturally flowery decorated at the same time. I even like the train that rushes past 5 meters away (regional train, so it's rare and quiet enough). The informed citizen is not surprised by the price of food and drink and is happy with what awaits him...😉😋😜

For a beer garden these are prices like in a posh restaurant 24.5€ for a schnitzel, currywurst fries red/white 15.5€ and the half liter of beer you brought yourself for 6€ without topless service is already at the top of the price segment!

The employees were all super nice, you have to order at the counter, including the food, then you tell them the table number you are sitting at and the food is brought to the table. You bring your own drinks. Unfortunately only cash payment is possible. The spaetzle was super tasty and the wheat was also good. All the decoration and planting was very beautiful. When the weather is good, it's just great. I think it'll be fine even when it's raining, as there are enough roofs in the form of a large tent and parasols. Toilets were also very clean and modern. Unfortunately there wasn't any music playing, I don't know if this is normal or because it was maybe Sunday. But it was nice and quiet there, despite a lot of visitors. You only saw and heard the train go by every now and then. It's definitely not the last time we've been there, let's see what it will be like in the summer.

Hello friends of outdoor dining and the lake of Liblar, I was in the forest beer garden by the lake last week. It was very nice. We had the bratwurst and the beer goulash, it was excellent, that's why I have to give everything five stars. I would particularly like to highlight the bratwurst because it was simply amazing. The drinks were simply fresh and therefore TOP. Always worth a visit! The fat, big Viking is the boss, I think his name is Friedrich.

The location of the beer garden is just great. First a relaxing walk around one of the Ville's lakes, followed by a stop at the forest beer garden. My choice is always an Andechs Pils with the currywurst pan.

The cook is terrific, I've never had a better goulash. There are also the tastiest Bavarian beers, not the disgusting Kölsch like the other places in Brühl.

Found there by chance, we really liked the atmosphere! Everything is friendly, nicely planted, in the middle of the countryside! The food was great, the goulash was great, the Riesling came in a water glass (you have to like it) We really liked it!

Preise zu überteuert! 2 Sterne für das Ambiente. Ansonsten kein weiterer Stern, da Inhaber bestimmte Kriterien nicht akzeptieren kann, da er in seinen Antworten der Rezensionen, Gäste ins Lächerliche zieht. Ein Liter Kellerbier + 0,5 Liter Radler sagenhafte 18€.

Wir waren gestern hier. Fazit: Essen und Getränke sind gut, die Preise dafür aber absolut unverschämt. Die Speisekarte ist reichhaltig, aber sehr schwierig zu lesen (ja, Deutsch ist meine Muttersprache!). Und schon mal vorab: Auf die absolut arroganten und teilweise unverschämten Antworten des Inhabers auf geäußerte Kritik verzichten Sie besser. Ist einfach nur billig...

Selten habe ich so lange darüber nachgedacht, eine Bewertung zu verfassen. Zunächst einmal möchte ich erwähnen, dass wir seit Jahrzehnten regelmäßige Gäste im Waldbiergarten sind. Früher unter dem alten Besitzer und seit dem ersten Tag, als Friedrich die Leitung übernahm. Damals war der Zustrom eher gering, aber seit vielen Jahren hat der Waldbiergarten seine alten Besucherzahlen wieder erreicht. Gestern war es mal wieder soweit, nach vielen Monaten besuchten wir den Waldbiergarten erneut. Als wir die Preise für Bier und Essen sahen, trauten wir unseren Augen kaum. 12 Euro für einen Liter Kellerbier! Unglaublich! Hinzu kamen völlig überzogene Preise für die Speisen. Ich verstehe, dass die Gastronomie im Zuge der Inflation Preiserhöhungen vornehmen muss, aber andere Gastronomen in Erftstadt zeigen, dass man dies moderater handhaben kann. Kurz gesagt, das war unser letzter Besuch im Waldbiergarten. Wir zogen weiter zum nächsten Restaurant und genossen dort ein ausgiebiges Essen. Leider scheint Friedrich mittlerweile auf Wolke 7 zu schweben und reagiert auf negative Bewertungen mit einer gewissen Arroganz. Das ist nicht der richtige Umgang mit Kunden. Es ist schade, wie viel sich verändert hat.

Oh, das ist ja wirklich eine Herkulesaufgabe, eine Bewertung zu schreiben, die sich mit so einem wichtigen Anliegen befasst. Ich meine, wir sind ja nicht irgendwelche Gäste im Waldbiergarten, nein, nein, wir sind treue Gäste aus Erftstadt, seit gefühlten Jahrhunderten! Da waren noch die guten alten Zeiten, als der Waldbiergarten von einem anderen Besitzer geführt wurde. Aber dann kam Friedrich und hat die Macht übernommen. Anfangs war da vielleicht nicht viel los, aber jetzt, oh mein Gott, der Waldbiergarten ist wieder in seiner ganzen Pracht auferstanden. Gestern haben wir uns mal wieder aufgerafft und einen Ausflug in dieses gastronomische Paradies gemacht, nach vielen, vielen Monden der Abwesenheit. Und was sehen unsere entzückten Augen? Die Preise! Ja, die Preise für Bier und Essen, da blieb uns fast das Bier im Hals stecken. 12 Euro für einen Liter Kellerbier? Ein echtes Schnäppchen, oder? Und die Speisenpreise, nun ja, die sind so astronomisch hoch, dass selbst Elon Musk vor Neid erblassen würde. Klar, Inflation und so, aber andere Gastronomen in Erftstadt haben das offenbar im Griff und lassen es etwas dezenter angehen. Kurz gesagt, das war's für uns im Waldbiergarten. Wir haben unsere Koffer gepackt und sind weitergezogen zum nächsten Nobelrestaurant, wo wir uns ein opulentes Mahl zu angemessen Preisen gegönnt haben. Schade, dass Friedrich anscheinend auf einer Wolke aus Gold schwebt und negative Bewertungen mit einem Hauch von königlicher Arroganz abtut. So geht man doch mit seinen treuen Kunden um, oder etwa nicht? Ach, wie sich doch alles verändert hat. Es bricht einem das Herz. Nette Location, aber der Rest ist nicht zu empfehlen. Keine Bedienung, horrende Preise… Gäbe es eine Alternative in der Ville, gäbe es den Laden eher weniger.

Der schönste Biergarten im Umkreis von 250 km. Toll gelegen,super Bier vom Fass wat willste mehr. Kleiner Spielplatz für die kleinen und reichlich schattige Plätze. 12 von 10 punkten

Super leckeres Essen und Bier in einer tollen Biergarten Atmosphäre. Bier selber abholen, dass essen an der Theke bestellen. Wird dann an den Tisch geliefert. 😋 komme gerne wieder.

Wild, frech (in gutten Sinne) und frei. Mir hat es gefallen. Ausgezeichnete Bierchen. Immer wieder gerne.

Ich bin schon dort gewesen als es noch Einhorn hieß und mehr oder weniger eine Bretterbude war. Zwischenzeitliche gastronomische Expeditionen sind zurückgekehrt zum Altbewährten. Preise leider nicht. Aber das ja überall so. Ich bin immer wieder begeistert vom Flair. Auch wenn es wie gestern geschüttet hat wie aus Eimern.

Sehr schöner Biergarten, an sonnigen Tagen richtig Klasse. Getränke per Selbstabholung, Essen wird gebracht. Die Portionen sind groß, Bratwurst ist frittiert (mag ich nicht), mein Biergulasch schmeckte gut, aber mir etwas im Magen. Insgesamt absolut zu empfehlen aufgrund der guten Lage und tollen Aufmachung.

Knusperschnitzel auch sensationell gut, mal was anderes als das typische Standardschnitzel sonst. Steaks auch hoechste Gueteklasse, da wird an nix gespart. Kloster Andechs Bier vom Fass - absoluter Hammer. Wo bekommt man das sonst geboten??? Direkt im Wald! Mehr "Garten" geht nicht! Essen kam sehr schnell und Personal sehr freundlich. Die Kinder lieben es auch und man sieht sie gar nicht mehr weil sie so gut spielen. Im "Hinterhof" geheimtip die Schaukeln, man kann auf einer Art Hollywood Schaukel am Tisch sitzen, meine Frau hat es geliebt. Hier sind wir gerne. 5 komma null, Ende der Diskussion!

Sehr gemütlich, schön angelegt, leckeres Essen (auch vegan), nette Mitarbeiter. Wir kommen ab jetzt öfter!

Ein wunderschöner Platz, der einen auch zu einem zweiten und dritten Bier verführt (plane ich immer schon für den Rückweg mit ein). Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Die Lage ist toll und der Biergarten hat ein tolles Ambient. Der Service ist ebenfalls hervorragend. Schnell und sehr freundlich.

Ich sitze gerade enttäuscht hier im Waldbiergarten. 2 Gläser Pepsi für 6,-€ (!!!). HUT AB!!! Meine ausgewählte Speise war nicht verfügbar. Ganz zu Schweigen, das man nicht mal ein einfaches "Hallo" vom Personal erwarten darf. Achso, für alle Unwissenden, man kann keine Bestellungen am Tisch aufgeben. Hat eigentlich nicht mal den einen Stern verdient!!!

Naturnaturnaturpur Nett für Kinder Lecker Erdbeerenbecher und Nussbecher Wenn wirklich großen Portionen, was man auch teilen darf. Sehr schön alles. Nicht billig. Aber lohnt sich Aufjedenfall. Wir kommen wieder update 2023: das wir dort immer schöner! Gerne wieder 5 Punkte Plusplus
