Perfect. Everything was fresh and very well seasoned. Very attentive service.

Food was good but not spectacular.

We visited the Germania restaurant in Erftstadt-Lechenich with a large group. The premises are spacious and the tables are comfortably spaced. Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly. The waiter was irritated from the start because not all of our expected guests had arrived. He continued to be disrespectful while serving (including leaning over the table) and spoke to me rudely several times, for example, because I didn't respond immediately when he brought us water. The food was also disappointing. The hamburger steak was raw inside and oversalted, the fries were soggy and not crispy, and the pancakes for dessert were cold. The payment process was poorly organized – we had to wait about 20 minutes. Overall, a disappointing visit. Neither the service nor the food impressed me, so I cannot currently recommend this restaurant.

We booked a room directly for one night. This saved on booking portal fees, as the hotel isn't listed there. The room was very clean, spacious, and had a hot shower – everything I needed. Our window faced the courtyard, so any street noise didn't bother us. Nothing modern, but the reception was friendly. The food is also good and plentiful, especially if you like Balkan cuisine.

I think the photo says it all, the rest of the room was the same, the shower was broken and the heating didn't get very hot, but the reception and service were very good.

The restaurant is fantastic! It's incredible how comfortable and valued you feel there from the very first second. You immediately feel like you're "at home." All customers are treated with exemplary care, making you feel like a long-time regular! There's no distance at all between the staff and the guests. Even the "senior chef" (one of his sons took over the restaurant years ago) still works there regularly. The family lives and breathes the restaurant, and you can see this not only in the food itself, but also in other aspects such as customer service. Customer satisfaction is our top priority. Should there be any criticism of the food, it is immediately listened to, apologized for, and a solution or compromise sought. For example, my friend's fried potatoes were a bit too salty last time, and she mentioned this as the plates were being cleared. Less than five minutes later, a small dessert was brought for everyone (!) at the table. This little "reparation" was on the house. My grandparents were regular customers there, and in the late 90s, our confirmations were celebrated there, etc. Rightfully so, I still enjoy coming to Erftstadt just to eat there. It's probably the busiest restaurant I know. There are no days when it's quiet. Therefore, it's advisable to call ahead and reserve a table, especially on holidays or similar dates. Otherwise, the restaurant might be packed and you might have to wait for a table, have a table available only until X o'clock, or even not be able to get a table at all that day. UPDATE 2025: At the beginning of last year, there was a change of tenant. Apart from a few new faces, it feels like nothing has changed. I suspect the kitchen staff has also remained the same, because the food is still just as delicious as before. The change of tenant had no negative impact on the ambiance or the service. Everything is as good as ever and we always enjoy eating there!

Haus Germania is probably the most famous and also one of the best restaurants in Erftstadt. Upon entering, it immediately feels inviting, albeit somewhat traditional and "old-fashioned." The service is always super friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive, almost overwhelming, and special requests are accommodated without any problems. I particularly like the salad bar, where you can help yourself at any time. The food may take a little longer to arrive, but it's always a delight. Good cuisine, good food, good atmosphere – a clear recommendation for anyone visiting Erftstadt.

My wife and I haven't eaten this well in a long time. I had the best fries of my life; every piece of meat was cooked to perfection. The manager and his staff are attentive but not intrusive. If we're ever in North Rhine-Westphalia again, since we're from the Berlin area, we'll definitely stop here again.

Unfortunately I have to say that I was very disappointed with the food! I ordered a sirloin steak medium with a baked potato, and got a dead fried piece of shoe sole! The baked potato was half the size as usual, but with twice as much cream, apparently so that you don't notice how small the potato is! I won't come here anymore, it's a waste of my money!!! The only positive thing was the nice service!

Without comment, 7 small glassy shrimps arrived on a skewer with a kind of hamburger sauce. After asking the waiter (who had no idea) the (probably new) owner said that they probably weren't in stock. Great, it can happen sometimes, but just serve it to me without comment. impudence. Was then charged €20 instead of €30. In addition, I had gastrointestinal problems afterwards and so did everyone else who tried them. Never again .

Food was okay, waiter was friendly and relatively quick, despite the store being full and our group being large. However, I was disturbed by the brown-haired woman at the table right in the entrance area, who said it was okay to smoke these disgusting smelling Heets (fart cigarettes). It simply smells like garbage and has no place in ongoing restaurant operations. Maybe you can smoke something like that at home alone in the basement so as not to disturb anyone. This woman felt so cool and breathed these smelly gases into my face, but I would recommend that she smoke normal butts because that would smell a lot more humane than this crap. Please never again!

Here you can celebrate various festivals in a large hall. This is definitely recommended. Friendly staff, good food and neat organization.

Cozy, rustic furnishings. The food is very tasty, typical Yugoslavian cuisine. Also wild, asparagus, etc. depending on the season. Portions are ok with a starter and salad buffet you will definitely be full.

A really good address for honest German cuisine. The hospitality of the operators is clearly noticeable; you feel very welcome, especially as a family with children. Everything here is freshly and deliciously prepared, the staff is extremely friendly and you go home with a good feeling because the prices are also very reasonable.

We were there today (2 adults and 1 child) and ordered the Germania platter... I would like to eat turkey so we ordered and got another piece of meat, it was very tasty and the whole plate was eaten in no time... Highly recommended, the shop was busy this lunchtime, which for me means a good turnover so that the meat and the other side dishes don't stay in the kitchen for long. Overall, I can recommend the shop. It may not look that great from the outside, but the inside is very well done, a typical Balkan restaurant.

First visit and definitely the last. You wait at the entrance for what feels like an eternity until you are noticed. After you have been brought to the table, you wait again... and wait, and wait - until drinks and food are taken together. Then you wait for an eternity until everything arrives and if you wanted to order more drinks in between, you'd have to wait a long time again. Service is a complete disaster and you shouldn't go there if you're hungry/thirsty! Definitely not recommended!!!

We like to go there. Freshly prepared food, tasty and plentiful. Price is right! A reliable bank! Ambience is no longer modern. But if everything else is right... Our conclusion: great!

RATING FOR THE RESTAURANT We have been regular guests at the Haus Germania by Nico restaurant for years. We knew that he was no longer there and had given up the place, but we thought that if it stayed in Croatian hands nothing could go wrong…………..That’s what we thought!!!!! I had reserved for 6 people 1 week before. When we arrived the lady quickly found our name (it was the first one at the top). Then he looked strange and showed us a table at the front left of the entrance set up for 4 people (there was no more room because of the size). I then said that it wouldn't fit……….and didn't know why we couldn't have a table in the front area of ​​the restaurant. We had reserved early enough. Finally, we were seated at an 8-person table in the back of the event room. It wasn't exactly that nice. Unfortunately it never happened to me before. The service was completely overwhelmed by the capacity, but that can happen at the beginning. Unfortunately the drinks never arrived as they were supposed to. Among other things, an alcohol-free wheat was ordered, which unfortunately was a normal one……. Food came to the table and the waiter/waiter didn't know what it was. The food cannot be compared to the previous one, unfortunately…. It is carelessly “placed” on the plate and extremely manageable. The ajvar is probably not homemade as usual but from a jar. Fish and meat were cooked past the point. With the salmon there were 2 half small potatoes as a side dish 🥔……It’s a shame, a shame, a shame. Last but not least, the menu was changed dramatically and the price screw was also increased. I wouldn't mind if the price-performance ratio was right, but unfortunately it doesn't. Unfortunately, we are refraining from visiting again, which we very much regret. We were usually there 4-6 times a year for birthdays and very often in between. Maybe the footsteps left behind are too big for the new owner!?

Hallo, wir waren nun schon das 2. mal nach dem Inhaberwechsel im Haus Germania. Beim 1. mal wussten wir von dem Wechsel noch nichts. Wurde vom Serviceteam auch nicht erwähnt. Uns viel wohl aber eine ungewohnt kalte Atmosphäre im Lokal auf. Jetzt beim 2. Besuch hat sich das noch bestätigt, es war äußerst unpersönlich und lud nicht zum Wiederkommen ein. Wir hätten erwartet, dass die neue Leitung an den Tisch kommt, sich professionell vorstellt, ".....ich bin der neue Restaurantchef hier im Haus Germania. Es freut mich, Sie bei uns begrüßen zu dürfen.....usw" Aber nein, statt dessen diskutierten/stritten sich mehrere Angestellte mit dem Chef LAUT in ihrer Landessprache im Gastraum. Unmöglich! In mehr als 40 Jahren haben wir bisher immer neben guter Speisen einen hohen Standard an Service und Gastfreundschaft erfahren. Das Haus hatte eine Seele. Da wir dieses Niveau nicht mal ansatzweise erlebten werden wir von weiteren Besuchen Abstand nehmen. Wir hatten 2 x Rinderfilet -medium- bestellt. Es kamen 1 mal "medium" und einmal "Englisch".

Haus Germania stands for friendly service and unbeatable prices. 50 euros for an overnight stay in a single room are of course. Of course you shouldn't expect luxury, but the price-performance ratio is absolutely fine.

Your review suggests that you assumed I was the new owner of the restaurant, but that's not true. I think I was, as always, a pretty decent, correct, polite and helpful waiter. And as far as the food you ordered, you answered yes to my question about whether everything was okay. Nothing has changed in the kitchen, all the employees have remained the same and everything is as it was when Mr. Niko was the boss of Haus Germania. (The ajvar we serve always comes from a glass.) 02/10/2024: Apparently new operator. When asked if Niko was on vacation, he received an evasive and mumbled answer. We have known the restaurant for years and the quality has ALWAYS been excellent. Today we had such bad food that we had to return it. Cevapcici and Pleskavic were far dry, grilled to death and tasted burnt and like chip fat. The Djuvec rice is an inedible mush, the Aijvar comes from a jar. Plus spindly McDonald's fries. I have no idea why Niko + team are no longer there, but once again a reliable anchor point for local gastronomy is disappearing.
