An all-round successful visit – stylish, elegant, and special. The ambiance is very tasteful and cozy – dim lighting and appropriate music create a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. You immediately feel at home. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. We particularly appreciated how child-friendly the team was: The friendly waiter repeatedly approached my daughter directly to make sure she was okay. In the end, he even helped us quickly organize a taxi – fantastic service. The cuisine impresses with its regionality, creative presentation, and exceptional flavor combinations – everything was finely balanced and of high quality. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food and special treats.

Today was my fourth time dining there, with great pleasure and enjoyment. Exceptional, consistently excellent cuisine. The menu is varied and creative, without being pretentious. The food tastes excellent and is delicately seasoned and prepared. The menu changes monthly. Unobtrusive, attentive, and very friendly service. The Michelin star is truly deserved. Thus, in a figurative sense, it's "value for money." We'd be happy to return. We look forward to the next time.

We had the great pleasure of visiting the Wachter foodbar in Prien as a family on a Saturday evening (with our twelve-year-old son) – and we were absolutely thrilled! The six-course menu was an absolute highlight: Each course was creative, perfectly coordinated, and a true taste experience. We would also like to particularly highlight the excellently coordinated drinks – both the wine pairings and the non-alcoholic options complemented the dishes impressively. In addition to the excellent cuisine, we would like to expressly praise the service: personal, warm, and very attentive – we felt at home from the very beginning. A huge compliment to the entire team – we will definitely be back!

Finally another “Vegan Week” in Dominik Wachter’s food bar - and in this royal discipline of culinary art, one culinary masterpiece followed another last night! The six courses were creatively composed, with the finest flavor surprises and aesthetically enchanting each time, and all courses were of the same high standard throughout (which is not always the case with vegetarian/vegan star cuisine)! The service is warm and attentive, and always extremely professional. You will feel comfortable for hours in the well-styled location with the round “bar table”. Fine dining at its best! (The name food bar is certainly appropriate, but given the high level of cuisine and equipment, it sounds as modest as if you were calling Lake Chiemsee a bathing pond...) A big thank you for a perfect evening! Update April 2025: In addition to the usual menu, Dominik Wachter is also offering “Vegan Weeks” this spring and is creating true highlights of plant-based cuisine during this time. Here, not only are compositions made with a passion for experimentation, the dishes are also prepared with a fine, almost artistic sense. You can literally feel the respect for each plant and its aromas, as well as the love for delicate decorative plant details, such as tiny Gundermann flowers. For me, vegan conjures have been made many times, even at star level - but Dominik Wachter far surpasses all other experiences in this special and challenging culinary art with every visit!

The complete package: delicious and surprising food, attentive and professional service, an atmospheric ambiance far removed from the stuffy, Michelin-starred gastronomy, and a young chef full of passion and creativity, whose name will surely be talked about far beyond his hometown... Unpretentious, personal, and warm – a fantastic experience! Also highly recommended was the non-alcoholic accompaniment to the dinner, created with attention to detail and the presentation of the dishes. The onion is the logo of one of the best restaurants in Chiemgau. Dominik Wachter founded the “Wachter Foodbar” – and after a short time was awarded a Michelin star and, most recently, three Black Toques from Gault&Millau. His 4, 5 or 6-course menus rely on regional ingredients from Chiemgau - refined with Asian notes and refreshing citrus aromas. The star chef appears approachable and uncomplicated - with a baseball cap on his head and a friendly smile, he serves the guests the various courses and awakens the joy of enjoyment. You also learn that the fish on the regularly changing menu comes from a fisherman from Fraueninsel.

We've had the pleasure of enjoying the expertise of Dominik Wachter and his team many times. Upon entering this special restaurant, you're always immersed in an oasis. The skillfully designed, truly stylish and inviting ambience exudes a special warmth that immediately makes you feel at home. The outstanding team also contributes to this: unobtrusive, yet extremely attentive and super friendly. Everything is perfectly balanced, and for this reason alone, we enjoy returning again and again. Dominik Wachter impressively demonstrates that creativity at a high level knows no bounds. Each dish is thought out down to the smallest detail and brings out wonderful flavors without being overdone, which is something you occasionally find in restaurants of this caliber. Not here in Prien. Here at Domink, great attention is paid to regional products. Some of the producers in the region are known for their highest quality. The dishes are exceptionally finely balanced in flavor and reflect a great passion for the finest ingredients. Whether it's a reinterpretation of classic compositions or completely unusual creations – you'll never get bored here. The menu changes regularly, demonstrating each time how diverse and inspiring good food can be. Despite the high quality of the dishes and the excellent service, the whole experience is absolutely fair and "affordable" – in the best sense of the word. Of course, it's not cheap, but the quality is worth the price. The rarely offered lunch menu option we enjoyed on the 4th Sunday of Advent was a perfect example of this: an all-round harmonious arrangement that wonderfully matched the pre-Christmas spirit and put us in the culinary mood for the holidays. All this is provided by a highly professional kitchen that more than conjures up magic. Fantastic! Every visit is a little highlight, and we are already looking forward to our next visit to Dominik Wachter.

Das Essen war wieder mal ein Traum. Dominik Wachter kocht mit viel Phantasie und Liebe zum Detail. Jeder Gang ist eine Augenweide und ein wahres Fest für den Gaumen. Außergewöhnliche Kreationen wie etwa das Tannenbaum-Sorbet mit Kiefer als Zwischengang sind überraschend und köstlich gleichermaßen. Diesmal waren wir mit Familie da, die ebenfalls total begeistert waren. Dazu der perfekte Service von Saber el Figha und Jonas Witt, die beide ihr Geschäft aufs Feinste verstehen: freundlich und aufmerksam und der Weinempfehlung von Jonas kann man vertrauen. Wer das Besondere sucht, aber nicht in einem überkandidelten Rahmen ist in Wachter's Foodbar gut aufgehoben.

Wachter's Foodbar ist immer wieder ein vollendetes Gesamterlebnis. Das Essen ist einfach fantastisch mit viel Kreativität, Handwerkskunst und regionalen Produkten zubereitet. Das kann man schmecken und sehen. Die Präsentation des Essens ist wunderschön und man kann jeden Gang kaum erwarten, um zu sehen, womit man hier überrascht wird. Der Service ist aufmerksam, sehr kompetent und man fühlt sich als Gast rundum umsorgt. Das Ambiente ist warm, modern und einfach zum Wohlfühlen. Das Barkonzept gefällt uns besonders gut, da wir es als sehr kommunikativ empfinden und "nah am Geschehen" sind. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut angemessen und gemessen an anderen Sterne-Küchen bezahlbar. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne und wünschen dem Team weiterhin viel Erfolg.

Wer richtig gut essen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Das angebotene Menü war so lecker, dass es mir noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Optisch als auch geschmacklich allerhöchstes Niveau. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

We were in this restaurant for the first time today, but definitely not the last time. The food is very, very tasty and beautifully prepared. Every single course was a special taste experience. If you like to eat with pleasure, this is the right place for you. The menu was worth every penny. The two young men in service are very friendly, careful and competent. Personally, I would prefer to sit at a table instead of at a bar. But that's criticism at a high level.

Eating here is definitely an experience. But money shouldn't play a role here. All dishes are culinary works of art, everything fresh and very delicately prepared. If there is anything to complain about at all, it is that it is not entirely pleasant on hot days and air conditioning would be desirable. Then you would also have peace of mind from the many mosquitoes, which otherwise have the door open to them. Nevertheless, an unforgettable feast for the palate.

Das Essen ist kreativ, geschmacklich immer wieder eine kleine Sensation: köstlich und wunderschön angerichtet - man lässt sich jeden Bissen einzeln auf der Zunge zergehen. Das gilt für jeden Gang. Dabei verarbeitet Dominik Wachter weitgehend regionale Zutaten und setzt auch beim Geschirr auf eine heimische Töpferin. Man spürt die Liebe zum Detail in allem. Ein optisches Highlight sind die eingelegten Lebensmittel – von der Ur-Karotte, über Löwenzahnknospen bis hin zu Topinambur. Das junge, höchst engagierte Team erklärt mit großem Respekt vor dem Essen genau, was es gibt und kann jede Frage beantworten. Man fühlt sich rundum wohl und dass Dominik Wachter bereits zum zweiten Mal mit einem Michelin Stern bedacht wurde ist höchst verdient. Wir kommen jedenfalls immer wieder gerne.

It's a beautiful place for a special meal with family, friends or your soulmate. You arrive and are greeted in an incredibly friendly manner and escorted to your seat. The food is served like a work of art and is wonderfully explained by those who work there. Here even the service has so much knowledge about the preparation, which is explained to you fantastically, that you think it's the chef himself. We would like to give 100 stars :-) What we also want to emphasize is the calm and fine atmosphere there. It's unbelievable how it was solved there. Floor-to-ceiling curtains, great subdued lighting, wallpaper made from the finest fabrics, wonderful music that is really there where it belongs. Into the background. Restaurants often get stars...we always thought for the entire package. Since I was able to learn that this only applies to the food, I can say that we would give 5 stars here for cuisine, service, ambience, friendliness, know-how and passion. And be sure to go to the toilet. Seldom seen something so beautiful in a restaurant. There are even real flowers there. Our conclusion: If you want to experience a meal that sticks with you...that you will remember for a long time, if you want to make an evening special...then you've come to the right place. So gut gegessen haben wir noch nirgends. Der Service dazu perfekt. Hier ist vom Essen über den Wein bis zur Einrichtung alles perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt. Zwei kleine Details haben wir aber doch anzumerken: die (gut ausgewählte) Musik war einen Tick zu laut und die coolen Stühle sind leider nicht sehr bequem. Ansonsten: ein Highlight im Chiemgau!

Jedesmal ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, mit einer sympathischen Mannschaft vom Service bis zur Küche und einem authentischem Betreiber, Gastgeber und Vollblut-Koch. Wir freuen uns heute schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Die einzelnen Geschmackskomponenten wurden in jedem Gang perfekt präsentiert, wobei die passenden Weine das Menü zu einem geschmacklichen Erlebnis ergänzen konnten. Hier wurde das „Essen“ zu einer Zeremonie. Vielen Dank für diesen Moment, den wir sehr genossen haben.

With Dominik and his team you can notice the dedication and joy in their craft. The food is absolutely top class and the menu is harmoniously selected and put together from start to finish. The boss also took time for a very nice conversation at the end. Despite the upscale cuisine, you feel very comfortable and like you are in your own living room. Das Restaurant wurde nach Übernahme durch Dominik immer besser, von mal zu mal. Mittlerweile arbeitet ein eingespieltes Team in Küche und Service das des Sternes absolut würdig ist. Das Menü ist sensationell ausgewogen und ausnahmslos jeder einzelne Gang von hervorragender Qualität. Die Weine werden glas - und auch flaschenweise angeboten und sind auf die einzelnen Gänge sehr gut abgestimmt. Das ganze Ambiente inklusive der 5 Gänge (wir ließen den Käse aus, es wäre zuviel gewesen) ist absolut stimmig und einladend. Preislich ist das Angebot im Verhältnis zu ähnlichen, manchmal nicht so guten, Restaurants in München sehr günstig. Alles in allem eine sehr starke Empfehlung sich von Dominik Wachter und Team verwöhnen zu lassen.

As extremely satisfied repeat customers, we were once again treated to an excellent meal in the Wachter food bar heaven ;). It was our third menu and our palates had the pleasure of being richly rewarded with many long-lost flavor nuances. The fried porcini mushrooms were definitely a highlight, exceeding all expectations. We can also rave about the particularly attentive and friendly service. An all-round special evening that is worth traveling further afield for.

Ein etwas anderer Style von einem Sterne-Restaurant: Edel, aber nicht überkanditelt, kreativ, aber nicht schräg. Dabei immer erste Qualität und großes Können. Das Lokal selbst mit der Foodbar sehr kommunikativ.

We spent a wonderful evening here with an outstanding menu in a lovely atmosphere. After the snacks and greetings from the kitchen, expectations were high and were exceeded with every course. Each plate was creatively and perfectly prepared and added to the menu. I would also like to particularly mention the dessert, as it all too often falls short. But not here! Everything was fantastic right up to the last course, not least thanks to the very friendly and personable service.

Unser zweiter Besuch innerhalb von zwei Monaten war erneut ein besonderes Erlebnis. Das Essen war hervorragend! Dazu der ungezwungene, dabei aber sehr kompetente und auskunftsfreudige Service. Einzig die etwas längere Wartezeit für Gäste, die frühzeitig kommen, und die Barstühle, die wir als nicht so bequem empfinden, sind kleine Minuspunkte. Danke für einen tollen Abend - wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Das Personal war sehr herzlich und die Atmosphäre sehr familiär. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Das Essen war hervorragend und absolut auf Sterne Niveau.
