Tolles Ambiente. Super Sicht auf den Rhein. Nette Bedienung und anschließend kann man super im neulandpark spazieren gehen

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe dort, um einen Geburtstag zu feiern, und leider war der Besuch insgesamt eine große Enttäuschung. Die Vorspeisenplatte für rund 13–14 € pro Person war bereits sehr enttäuschend und den Preis keinesfalls wert. Besonders unverständlich war, dass wir im Vorfeld ausdrücklich darauf hingewiesen hatten, dass zwei Veganer dabei sind. Trotzdem bekamen sie nahezu dieselbe Vorspeisenplatte wie alle anderen, inklusive Käse und Butter. Als Ersatz für den Schinken wurden einfach sehr viele Oliven auf den Teller gelegt. Das wirkte weder durchdacht noch kundenorientiert. Auch die Hauptgerichte konnten leider nicht überzeugen. Die Soßen waren sehr wässrig, bei mehreren Gerichten war das Fleisch zu trocken bzw. zu durchgegart, und die Pilze schmeckten eindeutig nach Dosenware statt frisch. Insgesamt hatte das Essen keine Qualität, die den aufgerufenen Preisen gerecht wurde. Der Service war ebenfalls eher mittelmäßig. Bei einem Gericht wurde lediglich darum gebeten, die Rahmsoße wegzulassen, weil sie nicht gewünscht war. Statt den Wunsch unkompliziert umzusetzen, entstand darüber eine unnötige Diskussion, als wäre das eine außergewöhnliche Anfrage. Das war für uns völlig unverständlich. Insgesamt stimmt hier das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis leider überhaupt nicht. Gerade bei einer größeren Feier hätten wir uns deutlich mehr Qualität, Flexibilität und Service erwartet.

Sehr schlechtes Lokal. Lässt neuerdings negative Google Bewertungen löschen.

Wir waren vor Ort essen und sind vom Service sowie der Qualität der Speisen leider sehr enttäuscht. Das Essen konnte uns überhaupt nicht überzeugen: Der Burger war bestenfalls mittelmäßig, und der darauf befindliche Salat war leider schon sichtlich alt und gammelig. Auch der bestellte Salatteller meiner Freundin war eine Enttäuschung – der grüne Salat war ebenfalls nicht mehr frisch, sondern ungenießbar und schmeckte uns schlichtweg nicht. Der Service hat den negativen Eindruck leider noch verstärkt. Wir erlebten die Kellner als sehr unfreundlich. Zudem mussten wir extrem lange Wartezeiten in Kauf nehmen: Es dauerte fast eine halbe Stunde, bis wir überhaupt bedient wurden, und auch der Bezahlvorgang am Ende zog sich unzumutbar in die Länge. Hinweis zur Löschung: Unsere vorherige Bewertung wurde bereits gelöscht. Wir werden es nicht akzeptieren, dass berechtigte Kritik unter dem Vorwand der Diffamierung entfernt wird. Wir waren nachweislich als Gäste vor Ort und machen hier von unserer Meinungsfreiheit Gebrauch. Sollte diese Bewertung erneut gelöscht werden, werden wir sie konsequent wieder online stellen.

Sehr gute Preise, sehr gutes Essen

Die Aussicht und die Desserts sind gut. Der Service ist sehr langsam.

Leider kein Highlight , Folien Kartoffel kam mit einem Haar auf dem Quark serviert , nach Reklamation wurde die selbe Kartoffel wieder gebracht . Salat aus der Tüte . Burger meines Mannes mit Tiefkühl fertig Fleisch . Leider nur die Aussicht schön .

Der Brunch hat gute Auswahl. Ich persönlich fand den Kartoffelauflauf sehr lecker. Nachtisch war auch sehr lecker.

Meine Ehefrau und ich waren gestern im Restaurant "Wacht am Rhein" (Rheinallee 3, 51373 Leverkusen-Wiesdorf) zum Mittagessen. Das Restaurant liegt auf der rechtsrheinischen Seite und bietet einen sehr schönen Ausblick auf den Rhein, den man insbesondere auf der großen überdachten Terrasse genießen kann. An die Terrasse schließt sich ein nicht überdachter Biergarten mit Selbstbedienung an. Auf der Terrasse und natürlich im Restaurant wird man von den Service-Kräften bedient, die alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam waren. Das Restaurant bietet vorwiegend gutbürgerliche Küche an - neben der Hauptspeisekarte gibt es auch Tagesangebote. Unsere Gerichte, Seelachsfilet mit Kartoffeln und Hackepeter mit Spiegelei, Röstzwiebeln & Bratkartoffeln, waren soweit in Ordnung, mehr aber auch nicht. Der Hackepeter war ziemlich hart und die Bratkartoffeln dazu pappig und lauwarm - ich hatte den Eindruck, dass ein Teil der Gerichte vorbereitet waren und für den Gast dann nur noch einmal kurz erhitzt worden sind ("regenerierfertige Gerichte"). Da wir gestern auf der Durchreise waren und eine schnelle & unkomplizierte Mittagsmahlzeit suchten, war dies für uns soweit aber annehmbar. Dennoch würde ich persönlich hier nicht noch einmal zum Essen hingehen; für ein paar Kalt- oder Warmgetränke auf der Rheinterasse mit dem wunderschönen Ausblick auf den Rhein ist das Restaurant aber sehr empfehlenswert.

Ich war noch nie da, sieht aber ganz nett aus. Super personal!!!

Schöne 1a Lage direkt am Rhein, tolle Terrasse, sensationeller Ausblick über Rhein und neue Autobahnbrücke. Service immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Qualität des Essens eher mittelmäßig, sonst hätte es fünf Sterne gegeben! 😉

Immer wieder schön da her zu kommen

Gute lokale Ausflugsmöglichkeit, am Rhein gelegen. Freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen, gute Preis-Leistung.

Wir waren zum Abendessen hier haben Steak und Fisch gegessen. Beides war in Ordnung und empfehlenswert! Nebenan war das Personal schon sehr beschäftigt. Trotzdem war die Wartezeit in Ordnung.

Absolut NICHT Empfehlenswert! Beißender Geruch in Buffetnähe. Der alte Mann im Service war äußerst unfreundlich und genervt. Küche laut Karte bis 22 Uhr… um 20:38 sagte man uns in herrischem Ton und Ostblockdeutsch: Essen nur, wenn sofort bestellen, Küche nur noch 5 Minuten. Nachdem ich hier gelesen habe, welch üble Qualität das Essen dort hat, hat uns das vermutlich den Abend gerettet. Wir haben das Lokal verlassen und waren anderweitig hervorragend essen. Leider scheint man sich hier alleine darauf auszuruhen, dass die Aussicht auf den Rhein die Leute anzieht. Mühe gibt sich hier jedenfalls niemand.

Da haben sie schon eine tolle Terrasse, und dann wird die nicht geöffnet weil angeblich so viel Wind da ist ( trotz windschutz ), in wahrheit wollen sie den aussen Bereich nicht bewirtschaften. Schade. Ausserdem ist das essen wirklich unterirdisch ( Seelachs mit Meerrettich und Zwiebelringe für knapp 16 euro ) ich wollte statt dem Meerrettich eine joghurt zitrone haben, geht leider nicht, da es zum Zander gehört und nicht zum Seelachs. Alles klar 👍 Alles in allem leider nicht zu empfehlen !! 1 Stern für den tollen Blick und noch 1 Stern für das gute Kölsch ( weil ich echt Durst hatte )

Essen ist nur Convenience Food. Eis und Kuchen sah aber gut aus. Leider dürfte man auf Grund von Wind nicht auf der schönen Terrasse draußen sitzen, obwohl diese mit Scheiben vor Wind geschützt ist. Unverständlich. Sonderbestellungen (Soßentausch) war nicht möglich. Sehr unflexibel. Das Ambiente war aber nett nur etwas veraltetes Mobiliar. Der Ausblick ist toll.

Der Wirt war sehr wirsch und lügen tut er auch,wäre ich nicht mit ner Gruppe Arbeitskollegen da gewesen hätte ich das Essen gelassen,ich nahm das Champignons Schnitzel und muss sagen das es das schlechteste Schnitzel war das ich je gegessen habe,es ist ein billig frittiertes Schnitzel wo die pande abfällt und die Soße war matschig säuerlich,aber die Pommes haben sie nicht geschafft zu versauen,die kann man essen.Ich empfehle die Aussicht aber nicht das Champingions Schnitzel,ich rate davon ab,dringlichst!!! Zudem schmeckt die Cola die angeblich coca Cola ist komisch,wahrscheinlich abegestanden reingeschüttet und nicht frisch geöffnet

Sehr gute Lage, guter Service und eine schöne Auswahl an Essen

Ein phantastischer Blick auf den Rhein, perfekt mit der sinkenden Sonne. Total freundliche Bedienung. Die Jungs sind voll auf Zack... das Essen ist sehr lecker und kommt flotti.... Eine zwanglos gemütliche Stimmung voller glücklicher Menschen.... herrlich... wie Urlaub.

Wir waren zum Abendessen da und waren leider sehr enttäuscht. Das Essen war nicht gut und sah mir sehr nach Fertigprodukten aus. Das Schnitzel trocken, viel Panade, wenig Fleisch, Pommes und Kroketten nicht knusprig und die Champignonrahmsauce bestand aus Pilzköpfen aus der Dose und einer hellen Fertigsauce. Der Kellner war leider auch sehr unfreundlich und an unserer Rückmeldung zum Essen überhaupt nicht interessiert. Sehr schade, denn die Lage ist toll und wir waren vor ein paar Jahren schon mal dort, da waren das Essen und der Service super.

Bei guetm Wetter immer einen Besuch Wert! Legger Essen und Weizen bei super Rheinblick! ;)

Waren hier mit vier Personen zum Brunch Buffet. Frühstücksauswahl ein wenig dürftig, leider kein Bacon zum Rührei und nicht so viel Aufschnitt. Dafür leckere warme Speisen (klassische Mittagsküche). Ein spontaner Ausflug um mal kurz abzuschalten...ganz netter Biergarten mit Blick auf den Rhein. Getränke und Essen muss man sich selber holen. Milchkaffee im Becher war ok aber nur der Entsorgung wegen, sonst bevorzuge ich eine Tasse. Preis Leistung absolut in Ordnung!

Geht gar nicht ! Nicht mehr wie es früher mal war!!! Leider eine extrem enttäuschende Erfahrung. Man wartet geduldig, wird dann irgendwann gefragt – und direkt beim ersten Getränk bekommt man schon das Gefühl vermittelt, dass alles nur „Stress“ sei. Als anschließend höflich die komplette Bestellung aufgegeben werden sollte, wirkte selbst ein einfacher Kundenwunsch offenbar schon zu viel. Der Wunsch nach Zitronen-Eistee endete dann darin, dass einfach ein Lidl-Pfirsichtee mit etwas Eis und vermutlich Wasserverlängerung in einem 0,3er Glas serviert wurde – für 4 €. Bei allem Verständnis für heutige Preise: Das Verhältnis von Leistung, Freundlichkeit und Umgang mit Gästen stimmt hier leider überhaupt nicht. Es geht nicht einmal primär ums Geld, sondern um Höflichkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und einen respektvollen Umgang mit dem Kunden. Eine korrekte Aufnahme einer einfachen Bestellung sollte eigentlich selbstverständlich sein. Leider insgesamt weder serviceorientiert noch gastfreundlich.

Schönes Restaurant direkt am Rhein. Angenehmes Ambiente und gute Speisen.

Wir sind gestern Abend nach der Arbeit mit 5 Personen dort gewesen und hätten gern gegessen, aber um 20 Uhr war schon die Küche geschlossen. Man wollte mich als lügner hinstellen als ich sagte, Sie hätten aber bis 22 Uhr Warme Küche. Nachdem ich der Bedienung das dann auf der eigenen Speisekarte zeigte, sagte er nix mehr. Wir haben uns dann dorthin eine Pizza liefern lassen, fanden sie dann auch nicht so dolle 😂

Typisches Ausflugslokal in sehr schöner Umgebung

Die Lage direkt am Rhein ist wirklich perfekt besonders zum Sonnenuntergang ein absoluter Traum und definitiv das Highlight dieses Ortes. Leider steht das in starkem Kontrast zum Rest: Das Personal wirkt unfreundlich und wenig engagiert, wodurch man sich als Gast nicht willkommen fühlt. Auch das Essen kann da nicht mithalten. Die Qualität ist enttäuschend und wird der eigentlich großartigen Location in keiner Weise gerecht. Sehr schade, denn mit besserem Service und besserer Küche könnte dieser Ort wirklich überzeugen.

Hey Leute, wir waren heute beim Frühstücksbrunch und ich kann mich nicht beklagen. Brötchen Croissants Aufbackware aber ok, Käse und Wurst aus der Verpackung, auch ok, kalte Fisch Platte auch ok. Die warmen Speisen, alles da, Kartoffelgratin, Kartoffelpüree, Nudeln, Reis , TK Gemüse mit Hollondaise ( wie beim Kroaten) , Fisch in heller Dillsauce…. aber der Gulasch hat mich überrascht, top zart geschmort, geschmacklich 1A. Als Nachtisch Schokoladen und Sahen Mousse, Obstsalat und das alles mit 2 Latte und 2 Espresso für 47€ … Das ist nicht zu viel verlangt und geht völlig in Ordnung. Der Laden ist Sonntags proppenvoll, gemischtes Publikum, Sitzplatz am Fenster mit Blick auf Köln… was wisst Du mehr 😎

Das Essen war sehr reichhaltig. Das Restaurant war gut besucht. Eine Reservierung ist wohl angebracht.

Perfect location with views of the Rhine, large terrace

We were sitting outside, and the waiter immediately approached us and told us we were sitting outside. Even upon entering the restaurant, we were given a disapproving look. For me, this behavior is absolutely unacceptable, because I go to a restaurant to enjoy myself, not to be stressed. I don't understand why some restaurants in Germany treat customers so badly. We were very dissatisfied with this place, and even the coffee was a disaster. I hate it when customers are discriminated against.

Not as great as it used to be, but it's okay. Not a top performer, but relatively expensive.

We didn't like the food at all. The meat was dry, the sauces artificial.

Mediocre canteen food. I had to repeat my order "ein Köksch bitte" three times, as if no one had ever ordered a Kölsch there before... embarrassing.

The café is located near the Rhine, and you can sit with a view of the river. The prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly and attentive. However, there was a strong smell of food inside, which bothered me a bit while I was drinking my coffee. Nevertheless, I would still recommend the café.

Went to brunch. Everything was fine!

It was a spontaneous walk past the Wacht am Rhein (watch on the Rhine) – since it was open, we spontaneously popped in for a coffee. We received a very warm welcome and were served the best apple pie ever. The view of the Rhine is unbeatable. Highly recommended!

Why does it say here that it closes at 11 p.m. when the store is open until 10 p.m. on Saturdays? The gentleman could address our confusion a little more sympathetically. Then please change that online.

We only used the self-service outdoor area. So this only applies to that. Relatively unkempt, a shame. But a view of the Rhine and the ongoing Rhine Bridge construction site. 2 cappuccinos, 1 apple spritzer, and 1 apple crumble. The cappuccinos came in paper cups, the cake served on a paper tray with a plastic fork, and the spritzer in a glass, for a total of €15.60. The cappuccino tasted disgusting, the cake was extremely sweet, and the tables and benches were very unkempt. It's a shame for such a great "location." I won't be going there a second time, unfortunately.

Great on the terrace in summer...food is delicious, breakfast buffet could be improved

Sitting on a sunny Monday afternoon with ten friends on the terrace overlooking the Rhine and the sound of chugging boat engines was simply lovely. The cold and hot dishes and drinks were all delicious and well-priced. The staff was very friendly and prompt. The location is highly recommended.

It's okay to sit there, the service is okay too, but it's not good enough to deserve more stars.

A great location with a fantastic view. The interior ambiance is pleasant, perfectly suited to the setting. The service staff is very attentive without being intrusive – very pleasant. The food and drinks are well-priced; there's really nothing negative to say. Parking is easy, there's a playground next door for the kids, and there's even a beer garden if you prefer a more casual setting.

Yes. Again and again. Buffet for a 75th birthday with 40 people. It was simply fantastic.

The liver wasn't particularly good. Relatively tough, and quite burnt in places.

The view of the Rhine is beautiful, but the restaurant has seen its fair share of cleanliness. If it's uncomfortable to touch the menu or something crawls around in the rolled-up napkin with cutlery (this can happen if it's stored outside—but as a restaurant owner, you know that).

The parking situation is okay. Paid parking is nearby. With luck, it's a minute away, otherwise it's 3-5. The location is great. If you sit outside, you can see the Rhine. The ambiance is okay. Neither overly pretentious nor sober. Drinks and cakes to go are available outside at the window. Inside, you can enjoy breakfast and hot meals, cakes, and desserts. The prices are just about okay, considering the quality and location. The staff are friendly, sometimes rushed, but overall okay. Recommended for a drink on the Rhine.

It's a quiet and beautiful spot for a walk or picnic along the Rhine River. You can even dip your feet in the water, and some people were even swimming. The cafe offers a variety of snacks and drinks while watching the sunset. There are good breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The pizza was a bit hard, but we didn't like it much. There's also a mobile ice cream vendor. Parking is free for four hours. It's usually full in the evenings.

I'm shocked by the way the restaurant is run, the hygiene, and the way the guests are treated, who even pay for it. -My experience with my companion early in the morning at breakfast.- The Wacht am Rhein is just opening its doors. It's still a bit chilly, so we'd like to enjoy the first rays of sunshine with the fresh air. But we were wrong! Because we're not allowed to 😳 ONLY THESE! NOT there! Excuse me!? No, not there, yes here! The short and sweet answer 🥸 Well, now we're here and we're submitting... Off to the "breakfast buffet"... What is this!!!? It doesn't have much to do with "breakfast" for me!! At the buffet, we find salads and salad dressings that are surely already ready for lunch, but for breakfast!!?? Where can I find the breakfast buffet?? Across the aisle, there's a platter with a somewhat meager selection of sausages, a bit of salami, and a plate of slices of cheese. No ham, no salmon, or a boiled egg. Something indefinable about a fried egg makes me shudder. The fruit shows us a few slices of orange and lemon! What for??!! Two slices of cheese and a beer-cured ham give me hope that I can at least make something acceptable to eat. My companion finds a yogurt, but later, out of sheer disappointment, she leaves it at the table. We've lost our appetite for a good breakfast. Well, now we're sitting here and at least enjoying the view of the Rhine river 😅... We'll probably indulge in that... We then find some honey and butter and return to our proper seats... On my plate are 1 croissant, 1 roll, 2 slices of beer ham, and 1 slice of honey and 1 slice of butter. Enjoy! But what is this!!?? The beer ham has strange edges, which suggests it can't have come from this morning, since we're already here when the doors open, and it's not even hot!!! I don't eat it and dig through my other things... At some point, the server picks up the plate... My companion points out that my lost, single slice of beer ham might actually be enjoyed by other guests, because they're the only ones keeping the buffet platter, the other things company, and usable by other guests... For me, that was a day that taught me I'll NEVER find my way there again... We've had some shocking experiences with this kind of morning gathering... Have fun, those who can handle adventures in other ways and are willing to pay a hefty price for them 😅

Looks great but food is a bit cold

A very nice spot with a view of the Rhine. Unfortunately, food was only available in the restaurant due to a lack of staff. Drinks were available at the self-service kiosk.

A nice place to grab a quick drink or ice cream while walking or cycling. But I wouldn't really recommend eating here. The view of the Rhine makes the ambiance unique in Leverkusen.

I would never come here even if they pay me

You just want fries with currywurst, but that's impossible here. Two different snack bars, and neither of them can manage it. Stupid restaurant! They didn't even come close to us; we had to search for them. No recommendation... 😮‍💨

Superb view! But first of all, it's incredibly expensive! Secondly, we were there as a family and had several rooms. After our visit, we all had fleas, so we had to cut our vacation short! No apology! No compensation! Simply terrible service...

Great location and good food. The staff is very friendly and on the ball. It's nice that you can sit outside and look out at the Rhine. Just stopping in and having a drink is also great.

The food didn't taste good at all

Rude service, terrible food! Such a beautiful place, so poorly managed. It's a real shame. I used to love going there and have fond memories. To preserve those memories, I won't be going there again until further notice.

Very nice location! Unfortunately, the food is just run-of-the-mill and completely unloving. Ready-made sauce with third-rate mushrooms from a jar... what a shame!

The view is really beautiful, the food was loveless, heartless and tasteless, nothing fresh. The waiter was attentive and nice, but we had to draw attention to ourselves. I think the owner is cutting back on staff at this time of night, which is the wrong thing to do in our opinion. With such a beautiful view, you could make an effort and not serve food that is so loveless and bland and just canned mushrooms. For €44 for two people, you'd expect better. There was turkey schnitzel with mushroom sauce and macaroni with chicken, both a solid €4 for us. The Coke Zero was already out of carbonation. Next time I'll just have coffee and something to drink, then I think the concept is right. What a shame.

Review: Wacht am Rhein, Leverkusen During our visit to Wacht am Rhein in Leverkusen, where five of us were together, we unfortunately found that both the service and the cuisine still had a lot of room for improvement. The wait staff seemed unmotivated, and it seemed as if each guest was an additional burden, which wasn't unfriendly, though. After placing our order – about €20 per person – someone finally came to our table with a smile and put us in a good mood, which left a positive impression. The dishes we tried offered mixed experiences. The spare ribs were okay, while the green tagliatelle with salmon and shrimp were disappointing. The over-seasoned sauce made it almost impossible to pull a single noodle out, and the delicate flavor of the salmon and shrimp was lost in the process – a real shame! The roast pork was excellent on its own, but it was accompanied by a very thin sauce that was more like a broth than a spicy sauce. The reheated boiled potatoes were particularly disappointing; they unfortunately didn't do the dish justice. I would recommend the chef improve his skills at a culinary school. I would like to highlight the hamburger, which was clearly prepared according to our instructions and turned out well. The kitchen team seems to have the right instinct here, and perhaps they should focus on that. Overall, I find that the establishment has significant deficiencies in the kitchen, and the service also urgently needs to be improved. The many negative reviews we've seen confirm this impression. It's a real shame, because the surroundings of the restaurant are beautiful and deserve more. 'Unfortunately, no star.'

I celebrated a wonderful milestone birthday here. It couldn't have been better. A wonderful ambiance, good food, and excellent service. The owner, as well as his entire team, is a very friendly, relaxed restaurateur who makes you feel like you can express your every wish and supports you in everything your heart desires. We celebrated exuberantly all night long and danced into a beautiful summer evening. "Party with a view." From the very next day onwards, many guests contacted me and raved about this unforgettable celebration in this fantastic location. I will cherish this day as one of the most beautiful birthday celebrations I've ever had and would recommend it wholeheartedly. Many thanks to the entire team.

The seating is very nice and comfortable. There's free parking. We were served quickly. The food was acceptable, but the Coke was deflated...

The view makes up for a lot of things. The service could be better, as could the food. Of course, I could have just been unlucky.

🌟 Wacht am Rhein – Leverkusen 📍 Location & View: An absolute dream! Directly on the Rhine with a clear view of the A1 bridge, passing ships, and beautiful nature. The atmosphere is unique; the view alone deserves 10 out of 5 stars! 👨‍💼 Service: Very friendly, attentive, and hard-working staff. You feel welcome and well looked after. 🍽️ Breakfast Buffet: Unfortunately, a huge disappointment. The selection is very limited, especially for vegetarians and vegans. There are no signs or descriptions of the dishes. The taste is not convincing, and the quality doesn't match the stunning ambiance. ✅ Conclusion: Perfect for a coffee with a priceless view. Anyone who wants to have breakfast or dinner here should significantly lower their expectations of the culinary offerings.

The worst experience I've had my life. First the waiter literally decided my order. When I asked for a espresso macchiato, je replied: OK late macchiato and turned around and didnt even give me a chance to correct him. Brought me something I didnt like. Asked if he can please take it back and bring me what I wanted. Went inside and 30 seconds later came with the same thing but in a small coffee cup. Perfectly obvious he just transfered the coffe to the small cup. I asked him nicely to take it back and instead Ill have a bottle of water because I dont like the kind of coffee he brought me. Instead of being apologetic, he starts lecturing in a condescending and demeaning way that in Germany they dont have what Im looking for. Meanwhile Ive had espresso macchiato twice a day for the past 5 days Ive been here. Turnes his back on me very rudly. I drank my water and when I go to pay he charged me for the coffee I didnt even try. Unfortunately for me I handed him money without understaing what Im paying for. Only realised when I was given the change. Had a 10 minute argument with him about it. He was telling me that here he makes the rules and if you dont like it dont come here anymore. Asked for a manager or the owner and he of course said there is nobody here. I have literally never in my existence been treated nowhere close to this bad in any establishment around the world since the day I was born. What he did was literally stealing. If I didnt have somewhere to be I was thinking of calling the police. Thats how dissapointed and disgusted I was at the treatment I received. After this I shared my experience with my cousin who lives here and he wasnt suprised at all. Told me he was treated badly from this place weeks before and never went back. I wish I asked him before I went. I try to be extremely nice to restaurant and bar staff because I am well aware their jobs are not easy but this was just absolutely disgusting. The owner should be ashamed for having this kind of staff work there.

The food isn't great, but it's ok, the service is ok.

The restaurant is beautifully located, but unfortunately, the service was very inattentive and spoke with such a Cologne accent that it caused communication problems. It wasn't possible to get the sauce on the side for the mushroom schnitzel, so I had to order a regular schnitzel with extra mushroom sauce for an extra charge, which I found quite inconvenient. The king prawns were very tasty and plentiful (see photo), although they weren't deveined and, in my opinion, were absurdly served in a tomato sauce that didn't even come close to the prawns themselves (they were still in their shells) and mainly made eating difficult. I ended up having to go to the bar myself for the espresso, as the waiter unfortunately ignored all our attempts to get his attention. This unfortunately happened several times during the evening. The view from our table by the window is beautiful.

Located directly on the Rhine, with an outdoor terrace offering a beautiful view of the water. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive. I'd be happy to come back.

One of the worst schnitzels I've ever eaten. The food arrived in five minutes, and it tasted amazing. The Coke wasn't even carbonated, which is a shame that people are allowed to be ripped off like that.

It's the ambiance that draws you to Wacht am Rhein. The view over the Rhine is truly beautiful, especially in the evening. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food (it seemed like frozen food).

My mom celebrated her 60th birthday here yesterday, and it was truly amazing. The owner is very friendly, relaxed, and accommodating. We danced on the terrace until late into the night. The buffet, and especially the schnitzel at lunch, were excellent. Thank you so much for this wonderful day.

The food isn't good there, but the cocktails were delicious.

For the price of €10.90 for a breakfast buffet and what you get for that, you could actually be quite happy. However, the food gets two stars because of the tarnished sausages they served. Gray and truly unappetizing. The ambiance right on the Rhine is, of course, fantastic. 😀👍🏼 Unfortunately, only a small part of the outdoor area was open, so you could only sit in the shade. The entire sunbathing area was unfortunately cordoned off.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ I was honestly very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The food was not only bad, but also unappetizing. The selection was extremely limited, and the few dishes that were offered didn't seem fresh. The texture of the food was often inedible, and the flavors were completely lacking. It's disappointing when you're looking forward to a good meal and then receive such poor quality. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are many better options in the area.

Only the view is okay here. It's a shame not to appreciate such a location. We left because the breakfast buffet was completely substandard and unhygienic.

The atmosphere isn't bad, but the staff are completely unmotivated and the manager downright rude. We asked for an ashtray three times because we assumed it would have gone down the second time. The third time the manager yelled at us as if he had nothing else to do. There were only ten tables occupied including ours. If the place had been full, we certainly wouldn't have asked so often and would have been understanding. Even when we told him that we were just guests and that he should talk to us properly, he gave us a snappy "excuse me and have a nice day" even though we were still waiting for the food. We then canceled our meal and left.

Nice location and very friendly service

The restaurant is in a great location overlooking the Rhine. The service is so-so, the food is completely unappealing. Open the bag and can, warm it up, and you're done. The ketchup and mayonnaise from the bottle were nicely heated by the 32-degree sun. The drinks were cold but not carbonated. After we got our drinks replaced, the same thing happened again. After we confronted the waiter with our concerns, he left cursing. After asking twice, a colleague took our money. It's absolutely not recommended!!!

Top location, a very nice place to linger on the Rhine. The service was mediocre to poor. The drinks were well chilled but unfortunately not sparkling, and the second round, which we complained about, was also not sparkling. The food was warmed from a bag and can, garnished with a little something, and ready to serve 😞 totally unacceptable. After we confronted the waiter with our problems, he got rude and walked away and never came back. Another waiter had to take our money. Absolutely not recommending this place. What a shame.
