Nice view but VERY unfriendly staff.

The only good thing is the view, I'll NEVER come back!! Unfriendly staff, disgusting food and dirty tables.

Last week I was out and about and felt like having a late breakfast (because the weather was nice); preferably outside with a nice view. I found that here and treated myself to the breakfast buffet. There was plenty of fresh selection - whether fresh scrambled eggs or grilled eggplants, there was something for every taste. The young lady who served was very friendly and attentive. Just a tip: Since the parking space in front of the house was occupied, I parked across the street - and overlooked the fact that I had to get a ticket (which cost me €20). So please don’t make the same mistake 😉

The view is still the best - maybe also because of Corona and if you stay outside when the weather is nice. Then you sit on the beer tent sets and get your beer at the kiosk like you used to at the swimming pool... Of course a lot of people come because of the easily accessible (bicycle and biker) location and then, in my opinion, they pay excessive prices for the beer Plastic cups......so why bother here?? It's better to drive past it and get your drink at the nearest real kiosk

So far we have enjoyed coming here to eat/have breakfast. But the quality of the food has deteriorated a lot. Buffet at breakfast is filled too slowly. In addition, on the last visit the coffee latte was inedible (it tasted like dishwashing liquid). We went back and had to let the old lady at the counter piss us off. That's why it was the last visit for us

We were at the WaRh last week. eat. Unfortunately, I always let myself be tempted there by the nice atmosphere. The kitchen used to be acceptable there and the nice seating and the view overshadowed the quality of the kitchen. But it really gets worse and I can't recommend the kitchen. I don't usually write bad reviews, but other guests also trust the reviews. We each had two steaks that apparently didn't weigh 200g each. The pepper steak was also drowned in sauce. The large mixed salad was hardly more than the side salad, but almost three times more expensive. Oh yes... we also had the Mediterranean starter plate, which seemed to consist of soft vegetables from a glass. The tuna pizza was also not edible and too salty. (if necessary, drain the tuna first??) The price/performance ratio is not right at all, especially since this quality should generally not be offered and should only be limited to coffee/cake/drinks and very simple dishes. I should have gone to another restaurant for steaks. You're always wiser afterwards. It was stupid, but the Wacht am Rhein only sees me for a drink or ice cream. You can't go wrong there. PS: The service was at least very friendly and attentive.

The ambience is actually the most beautiful. Food came quite quickly, but fries were lukewarm. We had the mushroom cream schnitzel, the canned mushrooms were a shame. The schnitzel itself was OK. The sauce for the Jägerschnitzel tasted slightly sour. Strange for a hunter sauce. At the end the waiter asked whether it was tasty or not?! We answered honestly. But didn't get around much. It's a shame for the location, it could be done better

THE SERVICE DEVENITIVELY DOES NOT TRIGGER A WOW EFFECT. Not unfriendly but totally unmotivated. The whole evening I had the feeling that I was reluctant to be served. The waiter can safely ask more often if anything is missing. The symbol that you would like to pay is not registered. When an order was taken at the neighboring table, the waiter was then spoken to. THE WAITER SOLELY IGNORED IT THIS TIME AGAIN. As far as the food is concerned, it's absolutely tolerable. But the fries were too salty. I wouldn't go there again.

The atmosphere and view was nice. However, if you value good cuisine, you shouldn't expect much from the quality and seasoning here. It fed us up. The price/performance ratio of the food was adjusted accordingly, but the drinks are a real hit for the wallet. Depending on the operator, the service ranged from very friendly to I'm doing my job. Went there for the first time today for lunchtime brunch, it was ok, the food could have been warmer, the taste was good 👍 👍 beautifully located with a view of the Rhine... parking spaces available... gladly again

Quite a nice view of the Rhine, but you shouldn't look upstream because the Bayer factory will overwhelm you there. Friendly, fast service and the prices are moderate. Unfortunately, the food (pork medallions) was not good, the meat and the sauce were sour, as if the cook had used the meat from the sauerbraten to prepare it. But friends who had spareribs were satisfied.

We ate here with a group of 20 people. The reservation went perfectly. The contact was extremely friendly and confident. The selection of dishes offered something for everyone and all participants were very satisfied with the taste. The service staff were also very friendly, although some seemed to be a bit overwhelmed due to language barriers. But that was really the only tiny criticism. Otherwise you are in good hands here - especially with a group! Keep it up!!

More appearance than reality. Yes, the location is of course great. But this is also paid for, because unfortunately the food doesn't justify the prices quoted. Carelessly prepared, canned mushrooms, meat drowned in sauce, although the meat itself was okay, but the pasta with salmon was bland and the salmon was overcooked. That's really a pity. The children's portions were at least very generous and the children enjoyed it, although we're talking about fries, a standard burger and a bockwurst. About the ambience: the location and view are great, but the rest isn't particularly nicely decorated either.

Diet on a holiday when the weather was nice. Since it is located directly on the Rhine and the view invites you to linger, the restaurant was well attended by everyone who took a trip to the promenade in the nice weather. The service seemed slightly overwhelmed but tried to sort everything out. It took a while to get to the waiter to order, but the food came quickly. The taste was ok. The pasta sauce was too salty for my taste and the antipasti was marinated in too much vinegar. ( In a can?). Salad, schnitzel and burgers were good. The ice cream was also ok.

Steak very tender! Service incredibly nice. Our son didn't want his food and was kindly comforted and offered another dish. Great place on the Rhine. Nice after a bike ride. As I said, medium rump steak is highly recommended! Spare ribs also very good! Cocktails too! Wine poured very generously!

There's nothing special at the breakfast buffet, but the price-performance ratio is completely okay! There is only one type of cheese and one type of ham. The salad selection is good for that. There are scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, poor knights, bratwurst and meatloaf in the “warm counter”. The service was nice and attentive. And the great Rhine panorama is hard to beat! 😉

We had booked a table for several people on a Sunday. Unfortunately there wasn't enough space without adding chairs and we decided against the buffet for brunch because it was already well *looted* and no one could say whether it was worth it for the price

We personally asked the boss there for our wedding, he was so unfriendly that we preferred to leave our money somewhere else.

The view was fantastic. The “all you can eat buffet” was disappointing. There is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of taste and presentation. When asked, it was refilled, but very slowly. Great view! Many people just pass by here while walking or cycling, outside there is a large terrace where you can eat and drink something small, inside you can eat something big if you want, I'll definitely come by here again

This morning we went here for the breakfast buffet for the first time. Very, very, very disappointed. The cheese board only one type of inexpensive cheese, but a huge amount. Then cut thick sausages into small pieces. In my opinion, this doesn't go well with scrambled eggs or breakfast. Everything was also very carelessly arranged. The sausage platter was also very bland and served with cheap sausage. Suggestion: Maybe instead of coleslaw and corn for breakfast, have a delicious meat salad, some Camembert or Brie as a second type of cheese, with a few gherkins or a small plate of tomato mozzarella. And everything looks much more attractive and doesn't cost much more. Or increase the price by a few cents. If you're looking forward to a delicious breakfast, we think it's worth a visit. not there. The disappointment is too great. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it 🥺😯.

Nice location. Unfortunately, despite the nice weather, the terrace was closed. I haven't had such bad service in a long time. But the food was absolutely delicious and fresh.

Very nice location right on the Rhine, with a beautiful view of the Rhine from the terrace. You can stop off or use the beer garden in summer, but this is "self-service". The service is ok if you go there often and know how to interpret and appreciate the charm of the older waiters. As a new guest it takes a bit of getting used to ;-) The food is ok, the same level as half board in hotels in the popular holiday resorts in the south. All in all a solid restaurant.

Buffet wird stets frisch nachgelegt. Täglich eine abwechselnde Tageskarte und Sonderaktionen begeistern. Die Bedienungen sind freundlich, hilfsbereit und schnell. Reservierungen werden unkompliziert angenommen.

Die Lage ist absolut klasse, das Ambiente ok und der Service leider sehr sehr lustlos und unmotiviert. Ich hatte eher das Gefühl, jemand zu stören. Den Tipp habe ich daher gespart.

Wir hatten unsere Weihnachtsfeier hier, mit Buffet und in einem abgeschlossenen Raum. Bisher kannte ich die Location nur vom Sommer um bei einem kühlen Getränk die großartiger Terrasse mit Rheinblick zu genießen.

Tolle Location direkt am Rhein gelegen. Wir waren mit einer 4er Gruppe da und haben das All you can eat Buffet gewählt. Große Auswahl, auch für Vegetarier eine gute Auswahl dabei. Die Spareribs waren super lecker. Preise sind absolut angemessen und so kann sich das jeder leisten. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle super freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Danke für einen wirklich schönen Abend. Wir kommen gerne wieder 👍🏻

Direkt am Rhein Essen das hatte ich mir zum Geburtstag gewünscht gesagt getan letzten Sonntag zum brunchen zur wacht am Rhein. Vorfreude pur dann leider die Ernüchterung das Brot Angebot reichte nicht es gab Brötchen und Baguette oder Croissants aber kein Roggen oder weizen Brot Fisch war gut da der hat geschmeckt das schweine Fleisch war ekelig und das gulasch ging....leider das Gemüse verkocht das Angebot war reichhaltig aber ich bin traurig gegangen habe bezahlt und war entäuscht weil ich mir meinen Geburtstag anders gedacht hatte statt mit verkochtem Fleisch und Gemüse den Tag zu verbringen schade ich bin traurig so kenne ich es auch nicht normal is alles toll da ....nun ja leider......

Schön am Rheinufer gelegenes Restaurant mit großer Terrasse und Platz innerhalb. Service ist schnell. Leider war die Tagessuppe total versalzen und nicht frisch.

Wir hatten die Heringsfilets und waren sehr enttäuscht. 2-3 dünne Filets die unter den Apfelscheiben kaum zu finden waren. Die Hamburger für die Kinder waren Okay 👍
