A great restaurant. Rustically furnished with nooks and crannies. On Wednesdays it is Lady's Night with a free drink for the ladies, and on Fridays there is live music. Great ambience, super delicious food. There is also a beer garden.

Great cuisine, great service and the price is right too.

We celebrated our wedding in the Wacholderschänke and were completely satisfied! The food was fantastic and the ambience was beautiful, the decoration was completely implemented according to our wishes. The service staff and the kitchen really give it their all! We were your guests on Saturday August 17th, 2024. It was a wonderful end to a beautiful day. We were warmly welcomed by three wonderful employees. The service, the food, the drinks, the ambience, everything is first class. Even the chef was impressive, which is something we rarely see. If you are in the area, you should definitely visit this restaurant. We will also come back to you soon. In August '21 we stopped by the juniper schänke...what a surprise. Luckily we got a seat and then enjoyed the food!!! The evening was so lovely that we will come back with friends. Thank you! Update - on June 17th, 2022 we went to the Irish evening, great music as always, delicious food and we were even able to "vape" a nice cigar from the in-house humidor. We will be back!!! On September 23rd, 2022 we had dinner with friends again... As before, the food is simply awesome! Since the live band was at the market that evening (Hildburghausen shines), Mr. Traut offered us a few things to sing along to on the piano, what a great service. We will be back! After a long forced break we returned on Friday September 1st, 2023. What can I say, still top gastronomy!!! Great service, absolutely delicious food and the live music, unbeatable. See you soon...(Many greetings to Peter too) Update: on August 2nd, 2024 we were at your place with friends for a very nice evening... service was great, the chef then came through the "rows" and asked about the quality... The sauerbraten with dumplings was excellent. The chef also personally apologized for the delay in waiting for the food. The waitress was by far the unfriendly service person I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Such behavior definitely does not encourage the guest to come back

Chic restaurant with a beautiful outdoor area!

I love the atmosphere there, both inside and outside! There's something very homely about it inside, and the beer garden is also beautiful. The employees are friendly, kind and accommodating and the food is also very tasty. I am very happy there and enjoy going there. Definitely worth a visit!

A very cozy restaurant, with a very nice garden restaurant. There were six of us and the online reservation worked perfectly 🙂. The food was excellent and I was cooked with love. Special requests for food were responded to in a very friendly manner. Our Green Belt hike came to a wonderful end in this restaurant.

I like the atmosphere and the Friday events. Very, very great class. The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate for the great quality. The service is friendly and attentive. A real inn with cosiness where everything fits.

I was at the Wacholderschänke for the first time at the weekend and I was particularly impressed by the service. We had VERY friendly and open service, who sweetened our stay with one or two jokes. My mom was able to experience this there a few times before. The food was simply delicious and even the chef personally asked how satisfied we were. You were completely looked after, which didn't even end in the bathroom, as various hygiene and care items could even be found there. We'd love to come back :)

The top address for the Hildburghausen location. The events are particularly recommended. Well organized, great atmosphere. Eating from the extensive menu is highly recommended! Reservations recommended.

There aren't many options for a nice meal in Hildburghausen. But the Wacholderschänke has unfortunately disappointed me for the second time. Given the quite high price range for HBN, the food was downright poor. My saltimbocca was clear, and too salty even for me as a salt lover and the fresh sage (my actual reason for ordering) wasn't even found on the plate. Instead, well, I dunno, basil? Wild garlic? You don't know because it was fried to death. At least it wasn't sage. And that's actually the main thing at Saltimbocca. The potato slices served with it were fried so hard and dry and almost cold that it was really no fun. Unfortunately, I had a similar experience there before and so in the future I will probably invest half of the money in a schnitzel at Schorsch or in the Strohbeere. You already know in advance that there is no sage in it. Conclusion: overpriced with poor quality. For comparison: in the best steakhouse in Duisburg (large city, half a million inhabitants) the fillet steak costs €32 for 200g, in Hildburghausen's Wacholderschänke a whopping €42 for 200g. I expect appropriate quality, even if the cattle have to travel a few more km beforehand.

Everything nice and cozy good service and everything nice

We stopped here on the way home from the thermal baths, it was incredibly beautiful. The food was very tasty, the service was perfect, friendly and on the ball. And at the end the chef came to the table and asked whether everything was to our satisfaction. So a perfect evening. Many thanks to the team

Coming from Weimar, it was a successful trip and a good meal here with very friendly service staff and a chef who came to every table and asked how satisfied we were - that's a rarity. Staff very attentive and child-friendly, which was great with a little Easter bunny greeting a week earlier. Looking forward to eating here again soon.

We went to the Wacholderschänke on a Friday evening as a larger family group. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. There were high chairs for the little ones and children's menus to color in for the older ones. Great value for money and highly recommended.

Wir waren das erste mal da! Sehr sehr schönes Ambiente mit cooler Livemusik…sauleckeres essen und mega nette Bedienungen! Für mich persönlich,eigentlich noch mehr Sterne verdient!

Wir waren am 9.9 2023 mit einer Reisegruppe von 41 Personen zur Abendeinkehr !! Ich muss Euch ein großes Lob aussprechen !! Egal was es war, sehr gutes Essen, sehr freundliches Personal, tolles Lokal und Biergarten, schnelle Abwicklung, die bei einer Reisegruppe auch sehr wichtig ist !! Ich muss sagen TOP, macht so weiter, wir sehen uns wieder 👌

Wir waren im Theresien-Zimmer, das für eine Gruppe etwas Privatsphäre bietet. Essen, Trinken und das Personal sind wie immer super.

Ich war dort auf einer Jugendweihe. Sehr leckeres Buffet, sehr netter Service und echt auf Zack. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und durch die Nieschen sehr gut nutzbar mit Fotoecke, Spielecke und Tanzbereich.

An sich war es ein schöner Besuch. Essen war auch gut Preis-Leistung etwas schwach. Was jedoch zum beanstanden ist, wir haben für unser Kind eine Beilage bestellt. Berechnet wurde jedoch ein Kinderessen für über 2€ mehr. Wir haben es leider erst Zuhause bemerkt.

Das Essen war gut, nur leider für den Preis etwas kleine Portionen.

( Vorwort: ein Großer positiver Bekanntenkreis, stellt keine Neutrale Bewertung dar). Schöne Gaststätte, sehr interessant eingerichtet. Nette Bedienung, freundlicher Gastwirt, jedoch SEHR UNANGENEHME Preise, nix für wir gehen zwischendurch Mal essen. Das Essen ist mittelmäßiger Standard, nichts besonderes "sorry wenn ich es so sage" aber nichts wo diese teilweise ordentlich hohen Preise rechtfertigt. 3 Sterne von mir. NACHTRAG: Da mir Liebevoll mit VIEL Eigenwerbung (was doch in Ordnung ist) geantwortet wurde, bleibt mir nur zu sagen "überzeugen sie sich selbst, OB TATSÄCHLICH alles so "Frisch" und Selten zubereitet wird wie erwähnt , und ich denke die Mehrheit wird für ein "Großhandelsübliches" Rumpsteak welches der Ihren Absolut entspricht ;) , 30 Euro ein mehr als Stolzer Preis ist, und eine derart ABSURDE Anhebung der Lebensmittelpreise noch IMMER aussteht um einen anstieg von gut und gerne 70% des Preises zu rechtfertigen ! Als "Tester" werde ich meine Bewertung sicher überdenken müssen, aber zu Ihrem Trost, dies betrifft eine erschreckende Mehrheit gerade in Thüringen welche sich ausreden und Argumentationen bedienen welche, auf Kosten der Kundschaft gehen und wenn man diese nachverfolgt sich im "nichts" auflösen ...Preisanstieg JA, Absurder Preisanstieg eher NEIN ! Werbung JA, WENN !!!! Diese Gerechtfertigt ! Nun wünsche ich allen Viel Spaß in der Wacholderschänke, welche sicher ein interessantes Ausflugsziel in Südthüringen ist, und jedem Gast einen EIGENEN "realistisch nüchternen" Eindruck hinterlassen sollte ! JETZT ;), Kommt die Werbung

Die Wacholderschänke ist eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants. Es gibt eine kleine Karte mit geschmackvollen Gerichten, Cocktails etc. . Am Sonntag sind die Kloßgerichte sehr zu empfehlen. Freitags spielen Künstler live Musik.

Für einen Abend mit Livemusik reserviert. Sehr schönen Platz erhalten. Außergewöhnliches Ambiente zum wohlfühlen. Interessante Speise- und Getränkekarte mit teils ungewöhnlicher Auswahl. Preise durchaus gehoben. Geschmack der Speisen war hervorragend. Service unheimlich flott und überaus freundlich. Sanitäre Anlagen tadellos sauber. Parkplätze vor der Tür. PS: Die Kunst der Musiker des Abends traf unseren Geschmack nicht, aber das ist nicht Gegenstand dieser Bewertung 😉

Sehr schönes Restaurant. Genügend kostenlose Parkplätze vor der Tür. Empfang und Service Spitze ! Essen sehr gut. Speisekarte sehr Übersichtlich, aber völlig ok. Getränke 1A ! Preise leider überdurchschnittlich. Nichts für jede Woche, aber ab und an kann man sich das mal gönnen !
