VinRice Vietnamesisches Restaurant in Erfurt

We regularly come to Erfurt for a weekend and have often visited VinRice. Until now, we've always been very satisfied with the food we ordered. Unfortunately, this was no longer the case during our recent visit to the newly renovated restaurant. The prices have increased considerably, but the quality of our food was completely unacceptable this time. My wife's filet mignon, which cost €35, was of very poor quality, served sliced ​​in the middle, and cooked well-done instead of medium as ordered. In short, a complete disappointment. My dish was supposed to be served with duck. While it did contain meat, I couldn't identify it as duck. The dish also lacked the exotic Asian flavors and spices I've come to expect from Asia and from previous visits to VinRice. For us, the visit, which we had been looking forward to, was a disappointment. We will therefore refrain from returning. This is also because there are many other good food options in Erfurt.

We were here right at the beginning, when it first opened years ago, and have been frequent visitors ever since. The value for money was fantastic at first. Prices have increased somewhat, but the ambiance and food presentation are now much better. They also use higher-quality ingredients, which justifies the price. Overall, a lot has changed, and it's a really lovely place with good food. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you haven't been there in a while.

Whenever I'm in Erfurt, eating here is practically a must. The moment you walk in, you feel at ease – the decor is modern, stylish, and designed with great attention to detail. You can immediately tell that they place a high value on creating a welcoming atmosphere. The service is always exceptionally friendly, attentive, and warm – you truly feel welcome. And most importantly: the food is simply always a delight! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. No matter what you order, the quality is consistently impressive. For me, it's always a highlight, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

One of the most beautifully decorated restaurants I’ve seen kn Germany. The care taken in curating all the pieces that make up this space is obvious and to me made the overall experience even more special. The staff were extremely welcoming and courteous, even offering advice on how a Vietnamese coffee is best enjoyed. All the food we had tasted great and left us feeling extremely satisfied. Would definitely recommend for a meal when in Erfurt. Also if you like beautiful interior design, I recommend walking around the restaurant, you won’t be disappointed 🙃

A very nice restaurant in the heart of the old town. We felt very comfortable. The service was attentive and very friendly. Each dish included a note explaining how it would be traditionally eaten. Today was our third and certainly last visit to VinRice: an absolute disaster. Since our children love summer rolls, we ordered the appetizer plate with four summer rolls. When the food arrived after more than an hour, we were surprised to find that only two summer rolls were served. The waitress, Ms. Lemongrass, explained to us that it was a typo on the menu. We then asked for a refill or a price reduction. Ms. Lemongrass then had to call the manager, as she wasn't on site and the staff weren't allowed to make such decisions alone. Ms. Lemongrass explained to us again that it was a typo and that the management had protected themselves against errors and misprints with a disclaimer on the last page of the menu. We continued to insist on a refill, and the drama ensued. Ten minutes later, the manager was at our table and explained again that it was a typo and that they were protected by the disclaimer. Nevertheless, another ten minutes later, we received the missing tofu summer rolls. Our son, a vegetarian for years, realized after the first bite that they were chicken summer rolls. Our appetites completely vanished. Instead of apologizing, Ms. Lemongrass and the manager behind the counter, right next to us, decided they didn't want to let guests like us spoil their mood. Well then, enjoy your meal at VinRice.

Excellent!!! Although we unfortunately arrived an hour before closing time, we were warmly welcomed and allowed to choose a cozy, lovingly decorated window seat. Since we were only moderately hungry at that time of day, we chose four different appetizers and a glass of rosé. Our orders arrived quickly and, it must be said, were perfectly and very stylishly presented – a feast for the eyes! This heightened our anticipation, and we were not disappointed: Each of the four dishes was completely different (even the garnishes had different vinaigrettes). The rosé wine paired perfectly. The restaurant's interior was carefully selected and exuded a calm, sophisticated, comfortable atmosphere. The subtle overhead lighting, the stylish bar, and small touches like individually rolled cotton towels in the restrooms were particularly noteworthy. Our four-legged friend was also welcome and immediately given a bowl of water. Happy and full, we left the restaurant around 10 p.m. In addition to the delicious food and the chef's culinary and visual skills, our special thanks go to the courteous, attentive, and very personable Mrs. "Lemongrass"! That was truly top-notch service, 5 stars! We'll be happy to come back next time we visit Erfurt!

We ate there yesterday after making a reservation. The traditional Vietnamese food was a true delight, and the ambiance is truly beautiful. Unfortunately, the very unfriendly, aloof waitress, "Mrs. Lemongrass," was completely out of character for this wonderful restaurant. It was my daughter's birthday dinner, and we have close ties to Vietnamese culture. The people are very family-friendly and welcoming, which unfortunately cannot be said about the service. The (Vietnamese) waiter behind the bar was very friendly, but the rest of the staff somewhat dampened the mood. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived, and yet the waitress seemed overwhelmed. Our food was delicious, using only fresh ingredients, and we were served a delicious welcome from the kitchen. We have no complaints in this regard.

What a great find in Erfurt! So nice to have a change from heavy German food. Udon delight dishes were generously loaded with vegetables and the Bao Cha sauce was superb. We sat outside for lunch but the interior was gorgeous and the restrooms should be featured in architecture digest. Definitely recommend!

I went there alone and spontaneously and was delighted. Excellent cooking, beautifully presented, and a very creative menu. There is no speciality neither something to say “ wow that was worth”. But fair price. Sorry but the service was so unfriendly. That “Zitronegrass” person showed a very negative attitude. What can I say? We were here last night (Sat. 26.07.25) and were absolutely thrilled. The welcome from Ms. "Lemongrass" was very friendly, and the same goes for Mr. Ginger and Mr. Chilli. Everyone was very friendly. And then the food was amazing; everything was delicious. The starter platter and all the main courses. The soft drinks were also very, very tasty. Keep up the good work.

We spent a very pleasant evening here. The service was really very good. The food was excellent; there was nothing to complain about. We had a starter that really impressed us with its taste. My wife had a traditional Poh soup with chicken, which was absolutely delicious. My Taste of Sai Gon was also excellent; the meat was cooked to perfection, and the rice with egg was very good. The taste transported us to Indochina for a while. We would gladly return and can recommend VinRice to anyone visiting Erfurt.

Vinrice used to be our absolute favorite restaurant, and we visited very often. I would have loved to give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, after the renovation, everything has become more expensive, and they only serve—let's say—"fancy" food. Accordingly, we're no longer in their target audience. That's a real shame, because we were always regular customers, and no other Vietnamese restaurant in town was as good.

Hello everyone, I'm giving this place 4 stars. You get a lot here for lunch, but at dinner, especially on weekends, you'll need a lot of patience. So the service and food are inconsistent. Still recommended; great dishes, super tasty. No feeling of fullness. I really like the ambiance, and the service is OK. We were also informed that it would take a while, which was fine for us, but almost two hours was too long. At times, we felt like they'd forgotten about us because no one had contacted us... only after asking. Every day is different, and weekends can be busy, but communication is important. The website says you're open until 10 p.m., but we were there today at 4:30 p.m. and it was already closed. That's really disappointing.

We ate there on Saturday evening and had reserved a table. However, we arrived about 45 minutes early and were immediately seated at a nice table. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating throughout the evening. There's not much to say about the food other than simply fantastic. An absolute culinary journey. Mega!! We've never eaten anything so authentic. Prepared with love and very friendly service. There was a welcome from the kitchen, unfortunately a rarity these days. The value for money is also very good. My colleague and I went to VinRice for the first time since the renovations – and we were thrilled! The new menu is incredibly diverse, with something for everyone. We received a warm welcome and were given a table in front of the restaurant without a reservation. It was great. We had dinner and each had a starter, a main course, and melon or mango iced tea. Everything arrived at the right time, and the iced tea was plentiful. We had a great time. Unfortunately, the Erfurt voucher couldn't be redeemed (yet). I hope it's still possible this year. That would be wonderful. We'd love to come back. Parking isn't easy on Michaelisstraße, so it's better to come by train. Thanks to the friendly staff.

To welcome us, everyone received a glass of sparkling wine 🥂, a small snack, and even a sweet cake platter with a candle 🎂 – all as a thoughtful gesture from the house. The food was consistently delicious 🍜, the new menu was creative, and the newly renovated interior was very stylish. A huge thank you to the young waiter who served us so warmly and attentively throughout the evening – truly top-notch! My flowers were also lovingly received and perfectly arranged 💐. Thank you to the entire VinRice team – we will definitely be back! 🙌

Unfortunately, after the renovation, the menu has deteriorated considerably. The prices have gone up, and I'm missing my favorite dishes. The Buddha Bowl is a bowl of rice noodles for €16. The ambiance and service are great, but I wouldn't go back for the food. It's a shame, it was better before 🥲

We were there for Mother's Day and the mothers were greeted very attentively with flowers and Prosecco. Very classy and chic, but not as it once was and not my taste in furnishings. I used to feel more comfortable and relaxed. The service is very nice and the food was okay, but the prices have risen. After the renovation or renewal of the restaurant concept, the menu has changed completely and unfortunately I am missing my former favorite dishes... The actually planned reason for our visit😕 In general I would say that I miss the flavor of the old VinRice. Unfortunately it is no longer my favorite restaurant.

Bad, not suitable for Vietnamese taste, too salty and located in an alley but the price of the food is too expensive. 20e for a portion of bun cha is just enough to fill your teeth🤣. The staff is ok, the portion of bun cha is small but it was so bad that I left it all behind.

The shrimps we ordered weren't peeled (which I knew) but unfortunately they weren't prepared in such a way that they could be eaten without any problems. This completely ruined the enjoyment and spoiled my appetite. Of course, you can sometimes have bad luck with your choice of food, but in such cases, in my opinion, appropriate treatment of guests would be desirable. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. My complaint was only dismissed with a coffee as compensation - very inadequate given the price of 30 euros and it wouldn't have satisfied my hunger either. Although my companion was satisfied with the taste and quality of their dish, they also noticed that the portion size had shrunk as a result of the price increase. Especially when a restaurant revises its concept and increases quality and prices, this should also be reflected in the service and portioning. Leider seit dem Umbau und der Neueröffnung nicht mehr empfehlenswert. Wir wurden trotz Reservierung zweimal umgesetzt, weil die Restaurantleiterin die Reservierungen nicht im Griff hatte. Der ursprüngliche für ein Candellight Dinner reservierte Tisch war anderweitig belegt. Der Servicemitarbeiter setzte und an einen anderen Tisch.Wir mussten uns dann rechtfertigen, warum wir nicht sn dem ursprünglichen reservierten Tisch sitzen, welcher aber anderweitig belegt war.. Die Restaurantleiterin setzte uns dann nach 10 Min. um, da dieser Tisch für eine größere Gruppe benötigt werden würde. Diese kam zwar nicht. Dafür setzte Sie uns neben eine 10erGruppe. Dort war es dann so laut, dass wir unsere eigenen Worte kaum verstehen konnten. Auf das erste Getränk warteten wir durch die Umsetzungen über 30 min. Die Vorspeise war super. Als Hauptgang hatten wir Back Tiger Garnelen. Leider waren die meiner Frau leidlich auslösbar, meine leider gar nicht. ( ich bin geübt im Garnelenauslösen). Auf meine Reklamation hin, sagte mir die Restaurantleiterin durch die Blume, ich sei zu doof eine Garnele auszulösen., Entgegenkommender Weise bringen Sie mir aber etwas anderes zu essen. Wenn wir nochmal umziehen können wir einen ruhigen Tisch haben. Meine Frau und ich haben somit nacheinander gegessen. Soviel zum geplanten „Candellight Dinner“. Unser Kellner hat toll versucht die Situation zu retten und sich sehr reingehängt. Eine Entschuldigung der Restaurantleiterin wäre angebracht gewesen. Schade wir waren früher oft dort und haben uns immer sehr wohlgefühlt….

When I complained, the restaurant manager told me over the head that I was too stupid to eat a shrimp. But in a friendly manner, she brought me something else to eat. If we move again we can have a quiet table. My wife and I ate one after the other. So much for the planned “Candellight Dinner”. Our waiter tried really hard to save the situation and put in a lot of effort. An apology from the restaurant manager would have been appropriate. It's a shame, we used to go there often and always felt very comfortable...

After the new renovation, [VinRice] shines in a beautiful, modern ambience. The atmosphere is now even more comfortable and inviting - a perfect place to enjoy good food. Special praise goes to the new waiter Bakr! He is extremely friendly, attentive and ensures that the guests feel completely comfortable. His service was excellent, professional and warm. Regular customer since day 1 at the vin Rice mega boss, delicious food and now newly renovated, just awesome, now everything fits.

We were back after the renovation. It looks very nice - the atmosphere is very cozy and chic. The service was also very attentive and friendly - both waiters (Bakr and a Vietnamese gentleman). We had number 33 (mushrooms) and number 34 (eggplant), both vegetarian and VERY tasty. Definitely recommended! The menu has been renewed and there are now many more vegetarian/vegan options. I think it's great. Unfortunately, prices have risen quite a bit. Still, it's worth a visit!

A wonderful Asian restaurant! The food was delicious and fresh and only took ten minutes to prepare. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. Our waiter Bakr provided great service with a friendly smile. Highly recommended!

Erfurt is teeming with Asian restaurants and snack bars. The entire quality spectrum can be found. It's worth looking and observing younger people doesn't just lead to computer game stores. We were just there. Unfortunately it is closed due to renovations. It would be great if your restaurant wasn't shown as "open". It's a shame, we were so happy ☹️
