The best truffle paste in the world!

It was OK to good; the starter with baked eggplant was very good. The main courses with porcini mushroom risotto and capunti with pumpkin were OK.

Carpaccio with mushrooms tasted like it was made with canned mushrooms and the sauce for the truffle pasta had an impressive amount of truffle in it but the sauce separated. The vibe was more touristy than I had expected and the price also reflected this. I don’t know why but there was a huge discrepancy portion sizes between the tables… maybe because we ordered an appetizer or because we took a long time to eat. Inconsistency from the kitchen is inexcusable for the price.

Great food and atmosphere created by a wonderful team. Overall an experience that inspires great conversation and joy. On a personal note, I would particularly recommend this place to a medium size group of people you’d consider great company and go on little culinary journey, laugh a lot and create good memories. Or treat yourself after a work. Both work.

I visited Vino Basilico and, besides having a pleasant evening, I tried a selection of appetizers that I would describe as incredible in terms of flavor and preparation. Compliments to the chef, and the service was provided by young, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Molto bene in Mitte! Juicy entrecôte, Bolognese just like Grandma's – and the red wine flows like clockwork. Sambuca for a nightcap, the bill at €100 – hurts, but tastes like vacation. Friendly staff, atmosphere like a small piazza. Only the toilet? A true Roman feeling: tiny, door with a crack – the espresso almost peeping out.

This place deserves way more recommendations! The staff are amazing, and the service is top-notch. If you enjoy sitting outside, make sure to book ahead — and don’t forget how much Germany loves its smoking outdoors 😉. But let’s talk about the food! We got incredibly lucky — the chef had just received a fresh batch of Italian white truffles. They’re so different from Australian black truffles, and of course, we couldn’t resist. We tried pastas and octopus — everything was beautifully balanced and fresh. But as we had truffles, the standouts for us were the oranciatte with speck and radicchio, and the truffle pasta — absolutely divine! Oh and for us, the servings were pretry big. Even lunch serving:) we had to take home some:) Very good wine list- but I am bias, I do like Italian wines:)) we stayed with whites as it was too hot and vermentino works so well with truffles:))) Also, they have very good apperetivo selection if you cant handle desert:))) I better stop writing and you better go and tey this place! We wish we could come back just to try more dishes. Next time, for sure. But you should definitely go. This place is über fantastisch! 😊 Amazing Chef and all the team, thank you!

A great piece of Italy in the heart of Berlin...great attentive service and "real" Italian food.

Without a reservation there was room. We were kindly referred to our table. After a recommendation we drank a delicious bottle of wine. The pasta was delicious. Especially the truffle. The entrecote on the other hand was very salty, but definitely recommended if you like meat with fat.

The restaurant is very nice, the food was delicious, and the service very friendly and attentive. My question about whether the burrata was gluten-free was answered quickly and competently, and to my surprise, a freshly baked, crispy, wonderfully fragrant, gluten-free roll was served. Simply wonderful! Thank you for the inclusion; that's how it should always be! I'd love to come back.

My daughter takes me there, it's her birthday. The chef, Loriano, is Tuscan and an old friend of cousins. Quality Italian cuisine: tagliolini with truffle and paccheri with fish ragù perfect. Porchetta, truffle and gorgonzola curls a real surprise. Desserts I would say normal, good wine and, as often happens in Berlin, too expensive. Young, friendly and lively service.

One of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants in Berlin. I've been there many times and have never been disappointed. The menu changes regularly, and there are always great new dishes to try. Sophisticated Italian cuisine, beautifully presented, and delicious! The wine selection is also really good.

Delicious food, not standard fare. Good wines. Unfortunately, the service was very inattentive. Often noisy groups. Negroni ingredients a bit simple.

Incredibly tasty food. Full of flavour, with many choices available on both a regular and specials menu. Service was fast and kind, and the desserts were great too. It’s more expensive than your regular Berlin restaurant, but the taste shines through in that price. You get what you pay for. There is no dessert menu available on their website, but it does exist! You just have to ask for it in person.

The food was delicious! I’m not a huge gnocchi fan , but it was definitely one of the bests. Atmosphere is lovely and the service team is super friendly

If you fancy an Italian feast you can do much better in Berlin. Food looked nice, especially pasta, but my fish was partially cold. Not room temperature cold, but refrigerator cold. Waitress didn't care when I mentioned that but I assume that's normal for a tourist oriented place. If you want to get nice instagram pictures or try nice selection of wines it's worth a try. If you just want good Italian food look somewhere else.

They forced us to leave from a non reserved table after we finished the main course and alternatively just offered to sit outside in the rain to have our desert or digestive without even asking if we would like one in the first place. Frankly we were shocked especially as locals in Berlin we never experienced something like that. Still the waitress was very sweet and the pasta was ok given the horrible attitude from the hostess.

My absolute respect to the chef and his team. Here you can still eat original Italian, every spoonful is a real treat.

Great food!! Good wines! Prices, however, are very ambitious - e.g. pasta dishes over €20. What always detracts from the actually nice atmosphere is the amount of tourists (including smaller groups). Well, yes. But as I said - the food is really very good.

Long story short, mediocre. If you have made a reservation, you will be crammed into a corner next to the display case where the chef is working. Ordered pizza parma, it was meat but certainly not parma ham, too bad.

Super authentic Italian cuisine with a twist on modern interpretation. Service was warm and attentive.

I enter the place and it was full, I sit down completely normal and start ordering, the appetizers arrive, no napkin, let's move on. Nice and welcoming place, the quality of the food is poor for what you pay, undoubtedly high, unfortunately the cooking of the papardelle pasta was raw and did not live up to the price or the place. Beef fillet €40 very small for children, It was recommended to me by our friends but I didn't like it that much, it left me with nothing to think about Italian food.

Really nice place for lunch and dinner with very attentive staff. We ordered pasta and it was delicious, risotto which was rice with tomato and a very good dessert (photos attached of everything). Highly recommended!

Entro dentro al locale ed era pieno mi siedo tutto normale e comincio ordinare, arrivano i antipasti niente tovagliolo, andiamo avanti. Locale carino ed accogliente, la qualità del cibo è scarsa per quello che paghi, indubbiamente alta, purtroppo la cottura della pasta papardelle era cruda non era all’altezza nè del prezzo nè del locale. Filetto di manzo 40€ molto mignon per i bambini, Mi era stato consigliato dai nostri amici per me non mi è piaciuto cosi tanto, non mi ha lasciato niente a pensare del cibo italiano.

Best truffle pasta I have had. It is creamy, rich and saucy. The truffle scent with parmesan was heavenly. Emulsified in my mouth and washed down with a glass of ice cold procecco, I gasped after the first bite. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend! 12/10

Insider tip for Italian cuisine in Berlin The Vino & Basilico restaurant was THE culinary discovery of our last trip to Berlin. I have to admit that it was a recommendation from the F&B director of a luxury hotel in Frankfurt - we wouldn't have found the inconspicuous restaurant on our own. To cut a long story short: it was sensationally good and significantly exceeded our (high) expectations. So During the course of the evening, which developed into a culinary experience in a class of its own, it turned out that the chef Mattia Mura had learned his craft from top chefs such as Michael Kempf and Christian Lohse, among others. You can taste his experience in star gastronomy in every dish. Italian classics prepared fresh, creatively and aromatically from the best ingredients - a feast for the senses. We were thrilled with Gamberi Rossi on watermelon and smoked buffalo mozzarella in tempura dough as well as pulpo with guanciale bacon, potatoes and parmesan cream - these were sensationally good starters. The following main courses, paccheri with salsiccia di vitello on a plate of scamorza cheese fondue and risotto with chanterelles and truffled veal tartare, also effortlessly kept what the primi promised. The portions were quite generous and the prices were very moderate. Conclusion: If you want to enjoy top-quality Italian cuisine prepared to perfection and forego the chi-chi and trendy crowds, you can safely ignore the city's well-known "fine Italians". The Vino & Basilico is our new “favorite Italian” in Berlin. A top recommendation for foodies who want to enjoy the best quality without frills and at reasonable prices.

Always nice going there for some pasta

Excellent dishes, quality ingredients and an excellent selection of wines. Cozy atmosphere, impeccable service. A must for those who love real Italian cuisine!

A special place: I have rarely eaten Italian cuisine so well abroad! The bigoli, perfectly al dente, were delicious, very seasoned and plentiful. A dish that alone is worth dinner. Polite and attentive service. Very highly recommended.

Very average tasting food (too salty) and very expensive (the burrata entree that you can see in pictures of other reviewers is around 15€) plus pretty limited menu. They gave our table away even though we specifically called to notify about arriving later (due to subway issues) and even though we assured them about leaving before our time slot was over. The atmosphere would have been quite nice despite a very wobbly table, if the music hadn't been wayy too loud and it being a best of 2010s playlist. Hearing "Turn down for what" blaring through the speakers was more reminiscent of a club than a cute Valentines Day Date. Service is average at most, very little attention to the customers, other people had to wait a long time to be able to pay, they also ended up almost overcharging us by putting another bottle of 7,50€ water on our tab. For reference we had: Water, Aperol spritz, shared the cheapest small entree for 13€, the cheapest pasta each (tomato+some bacon) and paid 82€. Pretty safe to say we won't be returning here.

Vino y Basilico is currently becoming my absolute go-to Italian. Very authentic, a great (open) kitchen, friendly staff, really good wine and "the boss" always has time for a chat with customers. I've been here many times now, been greeted personally, tried different dishes, enjoyed the best wine and really felt comfortable here for hours. I look forward to every time I make a reservation here again and can show this beautiful place to friends. So I can wholeheartedly recommend it! Bacio, Jani

During our holiday in Berlin we were looking for a good Italian restaurant to eat some pasta and, after a quick look on Google, we decided to stop here. We entered with the hope of finding a real Italian restaurant and it was pleasant to find all the Italian staff. It should be noted that I am an Italian restaurateur and chef in the UK and I know how difficult it is to find quality products and process them to get closer to the true flavors of our country.. In fact, I entered the restaurant very skeptical (I usually prefer to avoid Italian restaurants abroad) but I was shocked by the quality and goodness I found. The menu is small but still full of excellent choices, the layout of the room, in my opinion, a little too basic and clashed a little with the dishes presented. We ordered Gnocchi with sauce for the little one, Tagliolini with truffle, an excellent slice of meat and monkfish. Everything was excellent, I haven't eaten such a good truffle in years and it's rare to find a perfectly cooked slice of meat that cuts like butter. At the end we also had the pleasure of chatting and exchanging some of our visions and cooking experiences with the chef. Obviously the price is not cheap, but it reflects the quality put on the plate. It would certainly be a pleasure to return in the future.

Highly recommended! Very attentive staff and delicious food. We ordered pulpu and truffle pasta and they were both outstanding and beautifully presented. Upon request, the restaurant even offered us romantic table decorations and a slightly separate place because we were celebrating our anniversary. We felt very comfortable and are already looking forward to our next visit.

This is one of the best restaurants in Berlin and the best Italian. The menu is creative! We had beef tartare and duck breast - both were outstanding. Wines are also very good. What is particularly noteworthy is that the slightly higher prices correspond to the quality. You don't skimp on the quality of the products like most Berlin restaurants.

A nice Italian fine dining place. Food is quite tasty and a good selection of wines. However the prices are quite high and the food is unfortunately not matching this. The pasta was well prepared but not the best I had in Berlin and was 24 euros. The best part of the meal was the sharing platter so can highly recommend the starters. Also the duck breast was well made and again for the price was not the best I had. I would definitely come back for the tiramisu

The best truffle pasta & ragu I’ve ever tried!! However the service was not the best. We knew from the beginning that the reservation was for 2 hours, which is okay, however our mains took a while to arrive and they really rushed us in the end. One waitress even through the invoice on the table in the end and said “I need the table now”. The food was impeccable though!

Meals are exceptional, the personnel is rather welcoming, but it’s extremely hot inside, probably due to the open kitchen. All the time I spent there I was thinking about getting outside for a grasp of fresh air, but I couldn’t leave my perfect risotto.

Enjoyed a lovely pasta dish with a good glass of Multipuciano. Very lovely place. Only 7 euro’s for a bottle of pelligrino is a bit much.

Small welcoming neighborhood bistro, simple but good food. The service was a little long but they agreed to serve us quite late which was nice of the team.

The food here is good but expensive, the atmosphere is very nice. Unfortunately, the service largely ignored us after we ordered our food. We would have liked to have a drink, a dessert or a digestif, but the staff were too busy chatting to each other at the bar for about 40 minutes. After waving several times we were at least able to pay. Too bad, less sales and we won't come back.

The truffle pasta is really great! I could eat these every day. All other dishes can also be recommended. In terms of price, the food is in the upper segment. Parking is a bit difficult in the area, but the restaurant is very easy to reach by public transport

Dinner with my son and partner. Excellent authentic Italian fare. Loved the duck, but was not brave enough to try the veal tartare which my son’s Italian partner just loves. Although not an extensive menu my impression is that it is the quality that counts here. Wine of course is fro Italy although German beer is available.

Über das Essen gibt es wenig zu kritisieren: solides Pasta Handwerk. Pappardelle mit Ossobuco und Tagiatelle mit Steinpilzen. Der Sevice war leider, so wie man es -leider- nicht selten von italienischen Restaurants kennt, an Kälte und Arroganz schwer zu toppen… schlimm denn das machte eine sonst schöne Location zu nichte…

We went there with a large group and the waiter happily welcomed us. The food is delicious and true Italian style.

We were very early because they were full for the rest of December evening. That says enough. The food here is delicious. Friendly and fast service. We didn't feel like they wanted to sell the table again and let us enjoy it in peace. Risotto took some getting used to because of its bitterness. We couldn't quite place it. The truffle pasta was delicious. Tiramisu shared. Very nice place. Remains on our list

1 star for the waitress who shouldn't be working in a customer facing job with the attitude that she has. This restaurant doesn't accept cards or orders below 15€. So you are forced to give cash. And when you give cash which isn't an exact change, this lady makes a super annoying face. Such a disgrace.

Ottimo ristorante italiano situato al centro di Berlino, bellissimo locale, molto accogliente con sala interna ed esterna. Le cameriere sono state molto professionali ed accoglienti, praticamente mi sono affidato a loro ed ho mangiato da dio. Ho subito apprezzato la maestria degli chef con gli antipasti, il primo è stato spettacolare, concludendo con un tiramisù che mi ha lasciato senza parole. Che dire…piatti abbondanti e prezzi che rispettano la qualità del cibo, servizio molto celere. Tappa fissa ogni volta che ritornerò a visitare questa città!! Consigliatissimo
