I used to enjoy eating at Vapiano. However, the quality has declined drastically over the years, while the prices have steadily increased. The pizzas used to be truly delicious – the current menu is very limited, and the pizzas are only mediocre. The salads are still good, but the price/performance ratio is completely off. You can get a salad for almost €20 at a really good restaurant – with good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Vapiano, on the other hand, has more of a fast-food feel and is staffed by temporary employees, some of whom barely speak German, making communication difficult. Today I picked up pizza rolls with aioli, which were tasty, but they were also the smallest I've ever had anywhere – and they cost €6!! (with a product value of probably around 50 cents). With such a poor price/performance ratio, it's no wonder the place is practically deserted these days… what a shame!

The food tasted really good, however, the selection of gluten-free dishes has decreased... Charging an extra €2.50 seems cheeky to me, as if people with celiac disease don't already have it hard enough, they have to pay extra for this... perhaps this should be reconsidered...

The menu is clear and concise, with something for everyone. It's great that you can add or subtract all sorts of things from your order using the QR code card, including specifying quantities. For example, X grams or a little/a lot/a lot of garlic, etc. The prices are also reasonable.

The food was lukewarm and didn't taste good.

Celiac disease: My son has celiac disease, so we went to Vapiano specifically because Schär advertises their pinsas there, claiming everything is controlled and there's no risk of cross-contamination. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I specifically mentioned several times that they needed to be vigilant. Sadly, my son still experienced side effects and vomited at home, which is a clear sign of contamination. Therefore, to all those affected by celiac disease, I hope this comment helps you, even though it saddens me to disappoint you. Unfortunately, you can't eat here with this condition :-( I can't recommend it. The service was also very unfriendly. No one seemed to want to work; you could feel it, and we were there at lunchtime in an empty restaurant. We were there with two small children (3.5 and 5 years old). They went to the counter and wanted pencil sharpeners for the pencils that had been brought to us earlier; they asked several times. Twice they were simply ignored. No answer. We were sitting not far away and witnessed it. Quite unfriendly towards children. Our visit was already quite expensive. And then with such a disappointing outcome. Unfortunately, we won't be going back... what a shame!

My visit to Vapiano was unfortunately underwhelming. Neither the pinsa nor the pasta lived up to expectations in terms of taste. The pinsa was dry and rather bland, and the pasta was overcooked and lacked flavor. Overall, I felt that the quality of the dishes didn't live up to the price and the concept. The station-based system also caused more confusion than a pleasant experience this time. The wait times were unnecessarily long, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. While the staff tried their best, they seemed visibly overwhelmed, which affected the atmosphere. Ultimately, the entire visit felt like Vapiano was more of a "poor man's Italian restaurant"—a concept that, while well-intentioned, falls far short of its potential in practice. Two stars for the good location and modern ambiance, but sadly, nothing more.

The staff seemed rather unenthusiastic about their jobs. The vegan mushroom pasta tasted like nothing. Despite my complaint, I was still charged full price. That's unacceptable service. I ended up taking it home and seasoning it myself so it wouldn't go to waste.

Great service, nice atmosphere, and affordable food + drinks

The restaurant is near my office. I like to go there after 2 pm because the spacious seating allows for a very pleasant and quiet atmosphere. The service itself is good, and ordering via the app is perfectly fine. It's certainly much better than waiting at the cooking station, as was the case before. The food is of consistent quality, with frequent new variations. The price has naturally increased, but it's still reasonable.

Solidly average. The location is great and I like the atmosphere in the restaurant. The service was always attentive. However, there's room for improvement with the food – it tasted okay, but it didn't blow me away. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

A disappointing visit to Vapiano. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. The food was only mediocre and tasted uninspired. While the prices were okay, the overall experience just wasn't right. Our table was cleared even though one person was still eating – that shouldn't happen in a restaurant of this category. Furthermore, communication was difficult, as the staff clearing the plates apparently didn't speak German. This made the service very impersonal. Particularly disconcerting was what I saw at the bar: an employee simply poured several bottles of white wine together. I don't know if this is standard practice, but it certainly didn't look professional. Overall, this was my first and last visit. It's a shame, because Vapiano's concept actually has potential if they took quality and service more seriously.

Being told at the entrance to wait until you're called, then assigned a seat, and not being told how to look at the menu and order, and instead just being left sitting around doing nothing, has completely ruined my appetite for your cheap food. Thanks a lot for that. You saved me from something much worse.

Not recommended. We had low expectations and were still disappointed. After we ordered, a waiter came to our table to tell us that what we had ordered in the app wasn't available. After we changed our order, he told us again that what we had ordered was sold out. The wine we ordered was out of stock, but another more expensive wine was recommended, but of course not at the same price as the cheaper one. Another wine we ordered was forgotten, and upon request, the wrong one was brought (red wine, white wine, all the same). A person in the group who suffers from celiac disease had repeatedly asked whether there was gluten in the dish she had ordered. The waiter definitively denied this, but she is now in bed with cramps, so there was definitely gluten in the dish she ordered. Of course, the surcharge for "gluten-free" was charged. The staff doesn't speak German, so we had to communicate in broken English. The dishes we ordered, but which weren't brought to us because they were sold out, ended up on the bill, which we unfortunately didn't see until much too late, when we were no longer near the restaurant. In any other restaurant, we probably would have received dessert, a coffee, or a shot on the house for everything that went wrong, but that wasn't offered either, not even a proper apology. Instead, we sat for over 20 minutes with our empty plates simply not cleared away. And the waiters could have had time, as it was really quiet. We are very dissatisfied with Vapiano Düsseldorf overall. In addition to the tip, we paid another €35 for food and drinks that we didn't receive. A truly terrible experience.

Vapiano is a restaurant I frequent frequently. What I like most about it is its warm atmosphere and the attentive staff. Since I don't speak German, I had to communicate with the waiters in English, and there were no problems at all. It's a great place to come alone, as a couple, or with the family. My personal favorite dish is the kurbis pasta.

I have a severe nut allergy and ate here with no problems. The hostess was understanding and knowledgeable, and provided me with an allergen menu (shown here) so that I could choose my food safely. The food itself was really nice - filling and comforting - and the price point was great value. I also noticed at the next table that children’s pizza’s were done up like bunnies which I thought was really cute. It’s very relaxed and cosy. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for some comfort food, or if you’ve allergies.

I recently visited Vapiano in Düsseldorf and was completely satisfied. The pasta was delicious and freshly prepared. I particularly like the ambiance: It's warm, pleasant, and inviting, a great place to spend a relaxing lunch break or an evening. The service was friendly and very quick. I definitely recommend the restaurant for a delicious and uncomplicated meal!

Well, what can I say? It didn't really blow me away. Everything was so-so, quite OK. Vapiano really isn't that 2025 anymore; the concept is nothing special anymore. And the food is only average.

The Vapiano in Düsseldorf is—just like the other restaurants in the chain—a restaurant where customer contact is minimized by electronic means. No rating for the service, as the only interaction is the delivery of the dish. The food is typical of the chain. Delicious, mid-range food. I must note, however, that if you order your noodles spicy, there will be chili in the sauce. This isn't a problem at first, but it becomes problematic when there are two chili halves in the entire meal. I would have preferred the same amount of chili, just cut smaller. On top of that, they forgot to bring the bread to the table. Overall, the experience was pleasant and, despite minor flaws, very positive.

Food is great, service from the kitchen is ridiculous. had to wait 30mins for my pasta, and my friend ordered a pasta with 12 prawns, first time there was no prawns, second time there was only 6 prawns… I mean, how difficult is it to get one order right??

The concept is very technical: ordering isn't done with a waiter, but via an app. We requested a menu, but the dishes listed on it couldn't be found in the app. Upon inquiry, we found that dishes not shown in the app weren't available. Most of the staff only spoke English.

Overall, it was okay; I've eaten better. The service was very friendly, and the food was ready very quickly. The ambiance is very pleasant, with a very modern feel, but unfortunately, the food doesn't reflect that. It's tasty, but it's not my thing.

Vapiano is generally always a good choice. The concept takes some getting used to at first, but quickly becomes appealing and easy to handle. However, some of the dishes typically found in other restaurants in the same chain are missing. You should also pay attention to the quality of the food offered, as it's often too dry (bread) or too chewy (penne). Prices are average, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

There were four of us there, originally planning to grab a quick bite to eat before the Ed Sheeran concert. That didn't pan out. Speed ​​wasn't one of the kitchen's and service's strengths that day. We were actually really looking forward to it – out of nostalgia, because we hadn't been there since the company went bankrupt in 2020. The wait for three pasta dishes and a salad dragged on. They weren't served at the same time, and our order initially landed at the wrong table. There was no indication that it would take longer that evening. So time passed, and we missed the first of two supporting acts. Had the food at least been outstanding, we could have almost forgiven the kitchen. But here, too, we were disappointed. The ciabatta is now barely wider than a baguette, and two of the six slices had hard ends. The carbonara was dry – remarkable, considering the cream involved. And the "Gamberetti e Spinaci" had a whopping four small shrimp on the plate. Perhaps the staff was simply understaffed. But if that's the norm, we can only recommend choosing another restaurant—especially if you're pressed for time.

I go there every now and then. The concept has improved because you don't have to wait in line anymore. The food is solid, the service is friendly, and the place is clean and cozy. A bit bright for my taste.

Friday evening, 6:20 p.m., and there's hardly anything going on at Vapiano. It says you should wait at the entrance. I stand there for two minutes, and no one comes. Across the counter, two meters from me, an employee is playing with his phone and ignoring me instead of sending someone or saying anything. Zero service. I just left.

It took us a while to place an order using the QR code and after ordering we got drinks after 20 minutes and our food after 1 hour but unfortunately the food didn't taste good at all

The wait was really tough; we waited an hour for the food, and that was for two pasta dishes?! Otherwise, it was okay, but the prices weren't what they used to be; they were almost twice as expensive.

Pizza was 10 stars for us it was with a lot of cheese and the bread was thin

The lasagna and NY cheesecake were okay, but the convenience food appetizer was a disaster. Service isn't really service, it's just a plate taxi at best. Once, never again.

I've always enjoyed eating at Vapiano, but unfortunately, I've now ended up at the doctor's office twice due to food poisoning. I ordered for pickup, the pasta was mushy, the sauce tasted like it had been reheated, and now my partner and I feel sick. I will avoid this restaurant in the future and am seriously considering legal action, as this is probably the second, if not third, time I've had to see a doctor after a visit to Golzheim. I no longer recommend it.

The strange app or website isn't as clear as you'd think. Furthermore, it's not possible to order pizza in the app. The seats are extremely uncomfortable; sometimes you can't get out of your seat if someone is sitting next to you in the next seat.

It's very complicated to order through the app, and then it takes forever to bring the food because there are no servers. I wouldn't go back. The food isn't bad, but it's not worth it.

We waited 50 minutes for our food, which arrived cold and incorrectly ordered. The starter arrived with the main course! What a disgrace! We traveled all the way from Aachen.

The food was quite good, but the music in the background was way too loud, along with the playlist for every 2000s club party, which took away the charm of the whole ambience.

Somehow Corona has lost the charm of the concept. However, the food is okay and the service is prompt and caring. What more could you want? I still have one wish - compare price, quality and performance again. That doesn't really fit right now.

Unfortunately, my husband couldn't sit in the restaurant because it smelled like a bad kitchen. I wanted blankets for outside, but unfortunately they only had two. The staff were totally rude.

We were visiting the place and wanted to order spaghetti Bolognese. The wait was almost two hours, despite repeated requests – that's simply too long. A visit to a restaurant is no fun like that.

We were at Vapiano at 4:30 p.m. before a concert. The wait was far too long. The restaurant was busy, but there was only one pizza maker. Everything was a bit chaotic. Perhaps a sign at the entrance should indicate that it might take a little longer.

I've been to Vapiano a few times now – and I'm always impressed! The concept of having pasta, pizza, or salad freshly prepared in front of your eyes is simply brilliant. I was at Vapiano today and had the Penne Arrabbiata – absolutely delicious! The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauce was nicely seasoned and just the right amount of hot. You can tell everything is freshly prepared. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and modern. Ideal for a relaxed lunch break or a quick dinner. I'll definitely be back!
