Vapiano in Berlin

We were there with the family (2 adults and 2 children) to eat. The self-service system does not match the pricing or vice versa. Unfortunately, it was also a disappointment in terms of taste. Unfortunately, there was no taste of "fresh goods". Any good frozen food Pinsa can easily keep up. Overall, a huge disappointment on our short vacation in the capital. We will never see this snack chain again.

Really great there. The food was also good, although it was sometimes better, which is why I deducted 1 star. Very good location, great view and very comfortable.

Everything was fine. When you enter, you are given a card. The account is loaded onto it. You pay when you leave. We, 4 people, printed everything on one card and left, while the others delivered it free of charge and left. The pizza and pasta were very nice.

I have now been to Vapiano in different branches and cities within a few weeks. Probably for the last time too! Since switching to purely electronic ordering, the bottom line is that the service has been subpar. There are usually two terminals, so you have to wait in line. In addition, it is often not possible to order combinations that are available on the card in print version. Sorry, but in the future I'll rather go to the Italian restaurant around the corner. There is decent service for this price!

The food was good, but unfortunately the service was bad because our table still had food from other guests and a waiter looked at us but didn't clean up. Otherwise it was good.

The staff was very unprofessional and rude. The bartender at the time was extremely slow and did not care at all that we were standing there waiting. The waitress taking the order was extremely rude to the point that i was not going to get anything.

I will be commenting on the customer service, which is generally very poor in Germany. There was a misunderstanding, but the way the manager, Walid, handled it was extremely professional and polite. I was very pleased with the handling of the entire situation.

How to order is not explained at one point, but a female chef who was walking by was asked who was very friendly... Only plus point... Then ordered food... You have to order drinks separately at another place and you have to order everything. take it to your table.... The food is edible, but nothing to write home about.. nice to walk by to another restaurant when you are in Berlin.

The food was totally over salted, the pasta was soggy. The employee at reception makes customers wait unnecessarily even though there are plenty of seats upstairs just because he is too lazy to just look. That was the last time I sat there.

The concept may be well-intentioned, but I don't understand why you have to wait almost an hour for a portion of spaghetti Bolognese, which also contains hardly any meat in the sauce and the pasta leaves a less pleasant feeling in the mouth because it is overcooked are. The price is hardly justified.

The food was good. The order waiting time was around 20 minutes. It was crowded and I visited there on weekdays at around 9:25pm. I was famished so picture clicking was not at all on my mind. One thing which needs attention are they washrooms were on 2nd floor with one floor steps equals to two floors combined. There was one lift which was out of order. Imagine the plight of kids, special abled and elderly people for such a basic human need.

The Vapiano is a great place at lunchtime during the week, especially thanks to the lunch deal, the meal with a drink is significantly cheaper and since it is not too busy at that time, the food is ready quite quickly. In addition, the view from the window is simply great.

Had dinner there on Saturday. We were already informed below that there is currently a waiting time of 30 minutes, which is good to expect on a Saturday at Alexanderplatz. Unfortunately, the food was so dry and bland that we couldn't eat it. The bread was also very hard and no longer fresh

Went here for dinner today. We were hungry and we were satisfied so far so well. Unfortunately, the pizza and pinsa we ate were average if not below average. A nice shop but you shouldn't eat pizza here....

No service but prices as if I were at the Hilton. Not even the food I ordered, which didn't taste good either. Almost €40 for two dishes without drinking is simply disproportionate. It was an experience that I no longer have to go through.

Waited well over three quarters of an hour for two pasta dishes. The prices, especially for the drinks, are disproportionate for the fact that you eat here in a somewhat fancier canteen (i.e. self-service).

Disgusting service, two meals ordered at same time. Second meal took so long to arrive that initial meal was cold. Chasing missing food was useless where a language barrier was blamed. Utter rubbish. When it arrived it was poor quality, lacked taste and was an meagre portion. And, they asked for and expected a tip. 😕 I recommend avoiding this chain. Numerous other guest foreign and German experienced the same shameful service.

This was honestly the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. I’ve never dealt with a cashier so rude and impolite. I didn’t know someone could treat customers like that. It’s really embarrassing for a place to let their cashier behave this way. Absolutely terrible.

Hello Vapiano team, Unfortunately we have to rate your service very poorly. Despite the fact that we (a super-loving scout group of 30 people) were confirmed by telephone on the same day that it would be no problem to come over for dinner in the evening, we had to leave again and were left with 25 children without dinner. Unfortunately, it was very obvious that they didn't want us. When we asked how long the meal would take, every time we had to wait we were told there would be an hour more waiting time. At half an hour, at one and at two hours we said we would wait, then when the next sentence said three hours, we left. Our suggestions to order and eat in smaller groups were also rudely rejected. There were another 60 people standing behind us in small groups who didn't have any problems. So it wasn't due to the lack of places. It's just a shame that you can't rely on Vapiano for planning. With larger groups, it's better to eat elsewhere. As a tip for the Vapiano team: An honest answer "sorry we can't guarantee/we don't want to do that at this time/on this day" to questions about large groups would have been completely fine and would have been enough for us. Excuses and threats of utopian waiting times are really no solution and come across as very unsympathetic. Good path.

Food makes you want to vomit, totally dry in the Bolognese, how can you say meat was searched for and not found Toilets not clean, no toilet paper on site. The tables are absolutely germy. Rip-off when it comes to drinking, you should be careful, you will be charged twice

the best options are lasagna and risotto. i never find the pastas to be all that good, they’re generally not cooked enough (not al dente, simply undercooked) and not sauced as well as it could be. the mista salad is very nice as well, but the price is high for a green salad. also, the service is the slowest i’ve seen at any vapiano spot.

Tastes like it comes from a Lidl bakery. There is no love in the food and the location is very loud

It's not nice to stand there in the dark - broken glass bottle/shards between the tables outside and some people don't put their plates away (note: after I pointed out the glass bottle/shards to an employee, he wanted to take care of it straight away) Conclusion: I would definitely go here again and recommend it to others

One of the best Vapiano restaurants for me so far! I have to follow a gluten-free diet due to celiac disease and this was the right place for me! After a phone call, I was assured that I could eat the pinsa here without contamination. This is packaged separately, goes into a separate oven and is marked with the Schär seal. In addition, the employee Luigi F. in particular paid attention to everything, described the situation to the other employees and everyone paid close attention! I felt very good after the meal and I'll definitely be back!

They seemed to change their model. You don’t need to wait in the line for a long time any more. I like the quality of service I receive there! The food is delicious, my pasta needed a bit more salt than usual. Atmosphere inside the restaurant is quite cosy but outside seems a bit unorganized. If you are looking for a safe Italian option in the centre, this would be your choice!

good choice for a quick, good quality meal.

I have celiac disease and received incredible care. The employee Luigi F. was great, explained everything to me and knew everything straight away. In contrast to before, the only completely gluten-free option for celiacs is the Pinsa (but there are many different varieties), but it's better to do one thing right than end up contaminating the food. It was even Schär certified. I will definitely come back.

Apart from the food, which was delicious! We really enjoyed the service from Antonio! Very friendly and personable :D

I stopped in for dinner and really liked the open atmosphere, somehow informal. The location is really cool because of the location and if you're bored at the table you just need to look out the window. I really enjoyed our food and the portion was fair. Prices are also completely normal in the area. I would definitely like to come back.

Great experience. The atmosphere is calm and very well organized. One place to make the order, wait in the table, and pick up your food when it is ready in another area. Antipasta Burrata Classic was very good, and my pasta was also very tasted.

In Italy we don't eat pasta like that. Pasta was glue, they probable don't change the water and use Always the same for everyone. Not acceptable for the price which is 14 euro. Service Is also slow, not recommended.

We've been here several times, and the food has always been good. However, from time to time, it gets extremely busy, and you might need to wait around 50 minutes before receiving your food, with long lines in the queue. The staff is also inconsistent; some are great, but many are just plain unfriendly. There's a high turnover here, as I’ve never seen the same person twice. What personally bothered me the most is the type of people this place seems to attract. On our last visit, we encountered teenagers acting out, who couldn’t get along and took forever to make a decision at the cashier. When another cashier opened, some Germans at the back of the line immediately jumped to it without offering the spot to those already waiting (funny how they skipped the queue when it suited them). Then, while we were finally eating, the people next to us were two families with misbehaving children—one running around literally next to us and the other just screaming and having a tantrum without the mother intervening. Needless to say, this is not really a restaurant where one can eat in peace, but rather just another fast-food chain.

I had to wait a long time for my food (during which my companions were already partly finished), but it was very tasty. I ordered spaghetti aglio e olio with shrimp. Maybe if you want to eat at the same time, you should order the same category of food (pasta or pizza or casserole, etc.). The price-performance ratio was okay for the location.

A good place to eat in Berlin. It is a chain, so you can find several restaurants in the city. The concept works, worth noting is that they also use "homemade" pasta. We tasted some first courses, very tasty. Recommended+++

Were with you for the first time and can recommend it to everyone, super nice staff and the food was simply delicious.

We come in hungry and wanted some food. We saw that they had a lunch deal, and we decided on it. We entered and asked what the lunch deal contained, we were met with a very rude response. We were told “it’s pretty self explanatory ”as she pointed to the menu which all was in german. Mind you, we don’t speak a lot of German, so we just talked English. Which she didn’t like. She was pretty snappy and slick with her words. This was our first time here so we didn’t know how to order, we were given a card and I simply asked if you order on a website. Her first reaction was to give us a provoked answer about how you order upstairs. She kept on telling us it was upstairs to show us that she was the alpha. Honestly quite shocking. Overall we ordered some delicious food with no problems, the food came in a manageable time. 5-7 minutes. The person who gave us our food was very nice and friendly. What we needed from the start. To sum this up -rude employees with attitude, great food and service. Thanks 🇩🇪

Very simple food, very unfriendly staff. For any extra they charge you a lot: 2.80 for a little bit of cheese. A 750ml water almost 7 euros. A real robbery.

I used to love going to Vapiano, but now for a plate of pasta for €18, where I also have self-service, no way! In addition, the staff was also quite unfriendly. That was definitely the last Vapiano visit.

I had chances to visit Vapiano restaurants a few times in different countries but this one worst one. Team was talking very loudly to each other and the language was not English. I asked pizza four season cheese but he said that they only serve Margherita! I said ok! It was interesting Margherita because rectangular in shape with scissors next to it. The dough was very thick and not what I usually eat. This is perhaps the most difficult part of being a chain restaurant. something is lossing!

Our favourite place for Italian food. We went there a couple of times and tried pasta and desserts. The food was really tasty and with a great portion size. Very fast service also, and the place has a very cosy armosphere. Had also lasagna there, and it was super.

A small portion, really hot even though there was no chili to speak of. A lot of traffic and it takes a long time to queue. Lemonade costs 4e per day.

I'm not coming back! I generally like being at Vapiano, but the one at Alex is either one or even the worst Vapiano I've ever been to. Twice pasta was cold. One of the two dishes was completely wrong. The pizza was so dry that it was not possible to even halfway enjoy the crust. The bread was definitely from the day before and therefore inedible. Complaining isn't worth it, everything here takes far too long. Already remarkably bad. But the man at the bar was nice when his system went down and I stood in front of the counter for 20 minutes because you can't order anything else here.

Food was okay, but my mom and I couldn't tolerate it. The restaurant is nice and big and actually nice, but the atmosphere is rather cool and the employees seemed annoyed, although you hardly have any contact with them anyway. The prices were pretty steep.

I don’t write reviews very much, so that should capture how terrible this was. Tonight me and my partner went for dinner here (we’re from Canada and wanted to try something on alexandreplatz) I chose this restaurant because they have an informative allergy guide… I THOUGHT. We looked through the menu and allergy guide very carefully, and when it came time to ordering, we told the cashier what we wanted, and expressed in detail our allergies. To start the staff don’t speak much English, so there was a big translation barrier, which is okay as English isn’t the spoken language here. After using google translate and clearing some confusion, he assured us that our allergies would be accounted for. Well, it really wasn’t. To start I requested no garnish or extra toppings in my pizza, as I’m allergic to raw veggies and herbs. Right when I want to grab my pizza, I noticed a raw cherry tomatoe on top. When I told him, they picked it off thinking that was good enough…. That’s not really how it works. Regardless I had a new pizza made in a matter of moments and I moved on. My partner on the other hand, this was the real problem. He’s severely allergic to cashews, and ordered the pesto basilica, which is made of pine nuts. The cashier told us that it would be okay and there wouldn’t be any cashews. Come to the last few bites, and he begins to notice something is off. Slowly he began to start feeling sick, and his fight or flight kicking in and not knowing, he paid the bill and quickly left to a corner store to get a water bottle. After taking an extra antihistamine, and remaining vigilant that it wouldn’t become life threatening anaphylactic reaction, we moved along with out night. My main cause of concern is the lack of diligence around allergies at this restaurant. A manager didn’t come to speak with us about allergies, and no one from the kitchen really made sure the dishes were created with careful consideration, considering my partner get sick from what we believe to be cross contamination. We chose this restaurant as we both know the EU has strict allergy laws, and that his establishment provided online an allergy guide for their clients. My take away here is if you have allergies, please be careful about eating here. Getting sick isn’t worth the pasta or pizza and sickness that comes along with having improperly made food.

No English menu. Went to the counter to order food to be asked for a chip card? Didn’t have one, so had to leave with a large queue behind me. Didn’t come back as would have needed to wait in line again. Why not operate like a normal restaurant?

This was my first time at a Vapiano. I was sitting outside and it took me a while to understand that I had to order inside, at the counter up the stairs on the 1st floor, then run down with my buzzer to my table, wait for the buzz, run up again for my food, down to pay and out, and then, finally, eat. The food was good and the portion size was generous, but the explanation on how to order and how to pay could have been better.

Terrible. Horrible food, slimy pasta, sandy salad, poor price-performance ratio. Better go somewhere else!

Unfortunately I can't send a picture here but the food was a complete disaster! Apart from the fact that you have to wait forever for your order even though there wasn't much going on, I had to notice an employee at the checkout being admonished and the pasta being prepared listlessly. For a simple Penne Arabbiata, just under 12 € is a lot, but the fact that you are then served overcooked pasta that is barely edible is a disgrace! Unfortunately I had to go to work and after a long wait I asked about my food and whether I could have it to go because you can no longer eat here. I only got the answer "the waiting time is 18 minutes", but I waited much longer! I have never experienced a Vapiano anywhere in Germany who works as rudely, unprofessionally and listlessly as he does here!! I would have loved to give this food back! And I would prefer not to give a star!

The pizza here is very tasty; the chain of these restaurants always pleasantly surprises me with the taste of their pizza. It's a shame that the portions are smaller now, but otherwise Vapiano does well. 👍👍👍

Absolutely bad service Totally unfocused when ordering - preferred to talk to my colleagues - I had to ask several times whether he had everything and every time something was wrong I've never experienced anything like that before Either take customer orders or do other things, but not both at the same time

The food, in general, is not very good. The portions are very generous, but the quality is not the best. The system is self-service and a little difficult to understand if you are a tourist.

Great food. Great location, chefs behind counter are very friendly. But the restaurant has a cashier at the door who is very rude, full of attitude, obnoxious and should not be at this job. I visit this branch several times and I always witnessed him arguing with customers. This time was my turn and it was unwarranted. I complained to staff upstairs who apologised to me and said yes it is not the first time they receive complaints about him. And yet it seems nothing is done about it. Won’t be going back to this branch.

We went around 2:30 p.m., so not rush hour. I had a Pinsa and my friend's pasta all'arrabiata. My Pinsa was ready quite quickly, but we waited 35 minutes for the pasta which was much overcooked and bland, inedible! The reaction of the gentleman at the checkout was even more disappointing: sorry, I hope it will be better next time!

Terrible. I used to suggest this restaurant to friends while visiting Berlin. Can’t do it anymore. I ordered a Pinsa and it was so hard to cut, even using the huge scissors they serve with. Really hard dough. At the bar no one. Need to wait until the waiters appeared. No longer a place to be suggested!

Unfortunately, they changed the concept in this resturant,where usually you got the chance to enjoy live cooking and choose the quantity of the ingredients, here u got the food all together in pickup point and taste is different from what we had in other Vapiano restaurants in other spots.😟😟

This restaurant will become a mandatory stop every time I come to Berlin. Not only is the food great but also the staff are very welcoming and warm, especially a tall gentleman with a beard who works at the cash register downstairs, he is the one who made me want to try it. The weather was unpleasant this afternoon. I stopped in front of the restaurant while the wind calmed down and that's when the gentleman came to see me asking me to come back and so I tried and I wasn't really not disappointed. Many thanks and I highly recommend this place.

The worst Italian I have ever been to, it is true that the portions are large. But as food it's worthless
