Never again will you have to wait an hour for a plate of Bolognese.

After waiting a full hour, I asked about the food a second time. The waiter's response was extremely rude: "We have many orders, please wait at your table." That was incredibly rude.

It was rather unpleasant. We were in the upper section. Lots of families with noisy children and piles of trash left behind, even under the tables. The only bright spot was the bar with its cool staff.

Firstly, the system is broken, so not everyone can order. The pasta was very questionable; at one point I even wondered if it was really carbonara. As for the service, we don't even want to talk about it. We started eating, and the old man at the bar downstairs was incredibly rude (it's all about the tone). I can't recommend it at all!!!

We were there as a group (8 people). 2 (pasta) arrived quickly. 2 (lasagna) arrived after 30 minutes. 4 (pizza) had to wait an hour. Kitchen staff were rude. Service was excellent.

The food was delicious, but the toilets were unacceptable. They were filthy and smelled unpleasant. There was toilet paper lying around everywhere.

Waited atleast 40+ minutes for our food and even after asking the staff behind the counter about our order of three bowls of pasta we still had to wait another 15 minutes. The food itself was completely unsalted! It tasted so incredibly bland i am still baffled how an "italien" restaurant could produce such a pasta monstrosity. If you want Italien food go to another place there are quite a few in the area.

I highly recommend it. The staff is excellent. Walid, in particular, helped us a lot with gluten-free pinsa. He was so accommodating and friendly, amazing. He has a huge heart. Thanks, Walid.

The food was tasteless. Literally could not taste anything. They also gave none of us meat? We all ordered chicken and got none.

I arrived with two children around 2:30 p.m. and waited in the entrance. After five minutes of no response, I saw that we were supposed to go up to the first floor for more seating (they say there are 200). When we were almost at the top of the stairs, the man behind the bar yelled "young lady" in an inappropriate tone and ordered us back down and then out. They weren't accepting any more guests, but we could try again in 45-60 minutes. He did apologize, but his tone was less apologetic and more annoyed. I declined politely because the children were hungry, and with staff behavior like that, you certainly wouldn't want to go to this Vapiano.

This was my very first time at Vapiano in Berlin. Compared to other Vapianos I've visited in other cities, there were more seating options...of course, sitting by the window wasn't a bad idea, but today it was a bit awkward with the sun and no way to reduce it (curtains/blinds, etc.). At that time, it was naturally packed, so there was nowhere else to sit or move. I know the idea 💡 with self-service, and the app is also super convenient, allowing you to sit comfortably from your table and it worked well. Drinks came quite quickly. Self-service is a bit more difficult for older people, who might just want a coffee or something. Regarding the food, I have to say that the pasta was generally too firm to the bite, meaning it wasn't really cooked through. I checked the app again afterward to see if there was a way to specify this somewhere, but apart from possible extra ingredients, there was nothing to enter. Perhaps this could be incorporated in the future to offer pasta al dente or something similar! Unfortunately, it wasn't that tasty for the price, and the portions were also manageable. The staff always made an effort to keep the place clean, and when I asked for a menu, they were very friendly and brought one :)

I ate a carbonara which didn't taste good... the pasta was hard and tasted bland... the pizza tasted great... the kids' menu had pasta which was much too big for small children and some of it was hard... overall it was like that, we were there once...

Two of us went there and ordered a pinsa and a lasagna. After 20 minutes, we received a message saying the lasagna would take another 20 minutes to cook because it was coming from the freezer. We declined and ordered a different pinsa instead. The lasagna, however, was not canceled... The atmosphere is quite nice and the food was tasty, but the service with the ordering system seems very chaotic to me. In short, we won't be coming back.

Nice restaurant, we sat downstairs and had to order with a QR code and then pick it up upstairs. The food quality was very good, but the service was a bit lacking because you have to do everything yourself.

Today was my first time at Vapiano and, unfortunately, my last. I like that you can order at the table and the drinks are brought to you. However, we waited 30 minutes for our drinks, and they brought them without glasses. He wanted to bring us more. That didn't happen, so we got the glasses ourselves after 15 minutes. The pasta was okay, but nothing special. The staff was friendly, but very stressed. Unfortunately, I'm not convinced.

We went there with our child. In short, it was a disaster. We ordered via QR code at the table. The drinks arrived fairly quickly. Only the food never arrived. After an hour, we were told it would take about another 20 minutes. By then, our child was crying from hunger. We canceled because of this, and because we had a booked time slot for Alex. We still had to pay for the drinks.

We wanted to go there on a whim. The place was really busy, so we figured there wouldn't be any space. What annoyed me was that the person at the door was annoyed by the people standing there waiting to get a table. This reaction is unacceptable. How can you say, "I don't know," "I can't tell you," "just go and see if there's space, hey?" Either you can see what's occupied, or there's a sign outside saying "fully booked, no space available." Then, as someone who doesn't have a reservation, I can go somewhere else and make a reservation next time I want to eat there. As I said, we wanted to visit the place spontaneously (it was our first time in Berlin).

One star is too many for this rating. I've rarely eaten so badly. I waited 45 minutes for the food. Then I got pasta that had probably been kept warm for hours, or maybe days? Completely overcooked. No flavor. If we hadn't been so hungry, we would have returned everything. We won't be returning to this restaurant again.

It would be best to give it 0 stars. Dirty tables, a very, very long wait for food. Ordering with a QR code is exhausting. They're cutting back on staff. Loud, dirty, and the food doesn't taste good either. We also had to organize pickup ourselves. If I had water and a rag, I would have cleaned up, too. Our mistake for waiting anyway. Never again.

Super slow and the order was wasted for half the table. Stay far away!

It wasn't crowded, and yet, when we asked about our food after about an hour of waiting, we were told that they hadn't even started serving it yet. We had only ordered two salads and a pizza. I'm really sorry, especially since I haven't tasted the food yet, but it's really exhausting. I call it disorganized, but you could have guessed that when we entered the restaurant: we asked if there was a table for four, and all we got was a shrug. Honestly, if this were a regular restaurant, we would have left long ago, but since you order in advance and they don't give you your money back, all you can do is wait. Hopefully, at least the food tastes good.

Waited for over an hour, when we asked where our food is they told us “you were told there’s a long wait”. We weren’t. Awful service, they were making fun at us and laughing when we were starving and started telling us we didn’t make an order just to laugh and say “oh we found it” stay away

The order was delayed for 50 min.

The food never arrived, they had forgotten my order, it seems they give priority to outside requests, a disastrous experience, poor service, very slow, no one takes responsibility.

We ordered a Caesar salad and antipasti bruschetta with guacamole, and the most interesting thing was a salad without meat and tomatoes, bruschetta without guacamole (takeout order)

I usually enjoy Vapiano for its good food and great value, but this branch is a complete disaster. I’ve been here twice, the first time I waited 40 minutes for my order, and the second time it took 70 minutes to prepare just two simple pasta dishes! Honestly, it would’ve been faster to go to the supermarket, buy the ingredients, and cook them ourselves from scratch! The location next to the train station is great, but they really need to understand that many customers come here expecting a quick meal before catching their train, not a ridiculous waiting time.

Extremely long wait times and completely stressed staff. I was only able to pick up the food after I had already said I wanted to cancel the order. Everything arrived at different times, and drinks didn't arrive at all. This was my third and last attempt at Vapiano. The good times are long gone.

Not recommended. We waited an hour for the food. Drinks were forgotten. There was no system for pickup, and the food also sat around for a long time.

The adult food was ok, but the pasta for my child was too disgusting for her or us to eat. The staff was not communicating with each other abd sent people running all over.

In the past Vapiano was always a place which you could trust. Now: going to any other Fast-food chain restaurant will be cheaper and more delicious. I really hope that the quality which I was used to is coming back.

Four of us were there for lunch and ordered at the same time. Nevertheless, one person took over an hour to get their pasta, while the others were already eating. The pasta also had to be picked up by the customer. This made it impossible to eat together. The QR code ordering process was cumbersome, and the table was dirty and untidy. Completely disappointing for a restaurant like Vapiano—we won't be back.

Convenient and consistent food. Baby friendly and dog friendly.

The wait for food is an hour, and that's outside of lunchtime! And yes, we asked the staff several times. The only response was, "It's still taking a while." Everyone else there felt the same way. At the entrance, we were told it would take 20-30 minutes. If we'd known how long it would actually take, we wouldn't have ordered anything.

Have to place your order yourself, no different to McDonald’s. You have to go to the bar to collect your drinks (this is not outlined to you after placing the order). Ordered an hour ago a garlic pasta & a lasagna - asked twice about our order, to be rudely dismissed by the female at the counter. Go up for a third time to learn my pasta is sitting under the heat lamps, but I wasn’t told, and with the lasagna still another 10minute wait. It’s a basic pasta & pizza Italian restaurant - if you can’t cope with the demand of all tables occupied, don’t have this size of restaurant. Nothing enjoyable about today at all. Has we not already paid at time of ordering, we would have left long before.

A small, fine place with lots of charm)))

Had a couple of meals here over marathon weekend, where it was predictably busy! You can order via the QR code on the table or the screens. Food is picked up from a window and drinks are served to the table. The view from the outdoor seating is fantastic, right in the shadow of the TV Tower. The pasta was fine and reasonably priced. Staff did admirably to keep up with the demand of dozens of carb-loading marathoners

Nice welcome, service staff in the restaurant catastrophic. After my companion ordered a Bolognese with penne, she was very rudely told that they didn't have any penne. When I asked why it was clearly listed as an option on the menu, the employee replied that they were sold out, in a very rude and annoyed tone as if it had been a stupid question, just like with the original order. I had ordered a pinsa. After a long wait and the food was marked as ready, I went to the collection point where two pinsas were in front of me. A pinsa magherita and one which I couldn't quite decipher. I picked up the other one and made eye contact with the employee in charge, who, after seeing which pizza I had ordered, nodded and said "yes". After I arrived at the table and had already cut off a slice, the waiter came to my table angrily and put a pizza in front of me, claiming I had ordered the wrong pizza and that he had told me to take "the other one". But as I explained, the other one was a Magherita, and the pizza he had brought me wasn't even at the counter at the time, so it couldn't possibly have been that I made a mistake. He also confirmed it was the right pizza when I grabbed it. Another companion had ordered a lasagna, which took an extraordinary amount of time. When it was finally ready (after everyone had already finished their plates for quite some time), the portion size was even more shocking. A lasagna as small as I've ever seen, at an exorbitant price. Plus, the lasagna was almost impossible to remove from the pan it was baked in. A complete rip-off and tourist trap. We'll never be back!

People jumping in a waiting queue without any order, picking up food you ordered. Huge waiting times and pricing which is making it all not worth the stress

(British couple on holiday) we went here for dinner on our first day on holiday it looked good outside we went to look at the menu and it seems reasonable with the prices. Once we we inside we was waiting in get seen for 5-10 minutes while the staff was just walking past us like we wasn’t there. So finally we get seen they told us to go upstairs and find a table so we did. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 pizzas pretty straightforward meals we waited over an hour for our food. I had to go to the bar to ask where our food was the bartender didn’t have a clue what i was saying and was abit rude. I sat back down and waited another 10 minutes and went back up again. I spoke to the manager who could speak English he said it will be ready in 5 minutes. When the food turned up there was basically no cheese on the pizza just bread and tomato ketchup. The drinks was disgusting and there was a lip stick mark on the glass where it hasn’t been clean properly. We never went back and we never will when we come back. €35 down the drain. AVOID

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food. When we entered the restaurant around 7 p.m., there was already a sign outside the door saying that food would take 45 minutes. However, we were determined to eat something familiar before the marathon, so we sat down and ordered. The drinks were brought relatively quickly – 15 minutes. However, after waiting an hour for our food, and two Greeks at our table had already ordered well in advance and hadn't received anything yet, we decided to cancel the meal (one pasta, one bruschetta). The waiter also said it could take quite a while. Judging by the other reviews, this was the only right decision, as many had to wait two hours for their food. For a restaurant otherwise known for its speed, that's really not good…

Vapiano is always great! I especially like the atmosphere here. Heiko at the reception is simply fantastic – always friendly, attentive, and with a smile. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The food is, as always, delicious and fresh – my absolute favorite when I'm craving good pasta. Highly recommended! 🤩

We waited two hours, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., for our food, even though the place wasn't even that busy. After they told us it would be ready soon, we waited another 20 minutes. The people around us had the same experience. It's outrageous!

It went from being a rich and fast place to a rich, expensive place with poor service. I hope they go back to their roots. It's not worth it anymore.

Unfortunately, they're extremely disorganized. We waited about two hours for a plate of overcooked pasta, which we had to order via the app.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolute disgrace. No effort. No care. No service. Nobody gave a crap. You ruined what should’ve been an important evening, the night before the Berlin Marathon and I’ll never set foot in a Vapiano again. The place was rammed, hardly anyone in the kitchen, and a scrappy bit of paper on the door saying “45 mins” wait. Fine. But TWO hours later??? Still no food. We walked out, only paying for drinks — and to be honest, you were lucky we even bothered. When we asked what was happening, the chefs hadn’t even put our order in. They were actually laughing while people stood around hungry. Staff on the floor were useless, wandering about like they’d given up and not one of them could be arsed to apologise or help. Tried to find a manager to sort the bill properly but of course, nobody knew where they were. Joke of a set-up. We ended up walking around just trying to pay while the staff stared at us like idiots. Do you even want customers’ money? This was the night before the Berlin Marathon — the one night you should’ve had your act together. More staff, fewer tables, better organisation. Instead = pure chaos, zero pride and zero shame. Vapiano, you should be embarrassed. Sort yourselves out or close your doors.

Came Friday19/9/25 and food was lovely, ordered outside, brought to table. Pasta was gorgeous. So, came back Saturday 20/9/25. Ordered as before - nothing after 20 minutes. Went inside to ask - had to collect drinks and food from upstairs. Could see other tables getting food and drinks delivered. Absolutely ridiculous for a restaurant. Friday great, Saturday horrendous 🙃

For whoever thinks of having a meal here, some useful tips: - you order with the QR code on the table or on the screens on 1st floor. Then you wait about 45 minutes. When you are notified that your order is ready, you need to go to the first floor to pick up. At the pickup stand there are no screens for whose order is ready to be delivered, they seem to shout the table numbers and you need to remember your number. - if you have drinks in your order, you need to pick these up separately from a different place. But there is not a clear indication where and when. We picked them up on the ground floor. - the first floor is actually a second floor in terms of stairs, so if you opt to stay on the ground floor be ready to do significant tray carriage. I have not seen any of the above explained at the entrance, it is assumed that you know or figure out.

A disgrace! Making people wait an hour for food is shameful! Loathsome service. Vapiano in France offers the same food but not the same service! A disgrace

Absolutely shocking. Large venue with 5 people cooking. A piece of paper was printed off prior to entrance informing customers of wait times. It said 45 ish mins to wait. Sure no problem. However we waited nearly 2 hours for food in which we walked away only paying for drinks. Customer service was shocking, no organisation, just chaotic. Putting a 1 star for the ratings is generous. It being the night before Berlin marathon some form of organisation, more staff on the floor, or take on less tables to manage to output of food. It’s not rocket science. Do not recommend in the slightest.

We went in for lunch, a little skeptical. A wonderful surprise: fresh pasta, a clean restaurant, a view of Alexanderplatz, and the service speaks Italian. A wonderful experience.

Great spot for pasta and pizza. Love the pasta range and it’s also made by them. It’s a self service restaurant, you order yourself and pickup when it’s ready. The environment is good for a casual date. The only thing I would hope they add is a wide range of spicing options.

Super delicious pasta and a modern ordering system via mobile or terminal. Well suited for larger groups (although they don't necessarily have to sit together).

Very bad service, over 50 minutes waiting for spaghetti, no wonder they are bankrupt

We’ve been to Vapiano many times and we know perfectly well how the restaurant works. At the main entrance there was no one, only a very unfriendly man standing at the bar in the back. We noticed a sign indicating that the restaurant was upstairs, so I started heading up with my partner. At that moment, the man at the bar addressed us in a rude and intrusive tone, asking where we were going. I replied, “To the restaurant.” I’m not sure what else he said, but he ended with a clearly sarcastic “Welcome to Vapiano.” Obviously, after such stupid treatment, I simply said “goodbye.”

Bad restaurant waited 1.30 hours for food and was still cold. Weird homeless people also attacked the restaurant to get some leftovers.

Today i had lunch at Va' Piano because I had an old voucher, which was bothering me, and I finally used it. I had a pasta alla ragu alla bolognese and, while it wasn't the best of my life, it wasn't as horrible as I would have expected. Plus, with the 12.5 lunch menu the portion was quite alright, in my opinion. Would I go back? No. Was I pleasantly surprised? Slightly.

The food was quite good. The gnocchi was the best, the gluten free pizza not the best

We just finished eating here as a group the experience was very good the food was very tasty and very spicy which I really liked everyone ate pasta besides one of our friends who took the gluten-free pizza and he enjoyed it immensely we will definitely come back to this place as we have a hotel nearby and we love Italian food

It's a total mess from a service perspective. Kiosks out of paper, so you don't know your order number. My pager never rang. After 30 minutes they still did not have a cold order of bruschetta ready. When I asked for a refund, it was like the end of the world. Couldn't find my order, a million questions. Walked out feeling terrible. I will never be back.

The place was fine. You order with a QR code that takes you to the online menu. You can pay by card or cash. The service was good.

I went to Vapiano again after a long absence. Almost everything has gotten worse. It takes forever at the order point to order. Then I waited 29 minutes for my food (before, you just watched and 5 minutes later, the plate was ready). The food was okay.

The food is okay, but overpriced in my opinion. The restrooms are clean, too. The staff definitely needs to improve on their hellos, friendliness, and goodbyes. I understand that work is work. But in a restaurant, staff are the face of the business, and please don't touch the pizza with your fingers. That seems unhygienic.

The staff was nice, and luckily we got our money back, as the IT system had completely failed. Our order never reached the kitchen, but the money was still gone. It's really weird. Furthermore, the menu is no longer up-to-date, as many dishes have been removed because they no longer order certain ingredients.

The food isn't as expected and looks better than it tastes. The preparation is flawed. Pizzas have 2cm thick dough, pasta is overcooked, and flavor enhancers are a good friend.

Unfortunately, the noodles in two of the dishes we ordered were too hard.

The food was cold when it arrived because the online ordering didn't work. I also couldn't eat with my companion because our food arrived so differently. The pasta was also overcooked. The pizza was okay, but tasted nothing special.

Unfortunately, the pizza selection is now very limited. According to staff, the restrooms have been prone to malfunctions for some time.

Not recommended! It's nothing like going to a restaurant! Stay home and cook your own food, or go to McDonald's; it's three times as good!

Good reception and quality food

The food was delicious; we ordered at a terminal. After 20 minutes, we asked if the food was ready, as we were there at lunchtime and it wasn't that busy. The pasta had been there for quite a while, but the salad wasn't ready, even though we had ordered that at the terminal too. It was very strange. Still okay 👍

There were three of us there for the first time. Ordering by mobile phone was not possible, and when I completed the order I got a message saying that an unexpected error had occurred. So I went to one of the two ordering screens. Half the terminal tipped forward on the person in front of me. The already long order line got longer. After placing the order, it took a really long time until we could get the food. Then the order was mixed up. Anything can happen: bad day, technology not working smoothly, everything is fine. I understand that. But what is unacceptable is that we were treated unfriendly. And the food wasn't good either. 👎🏻 We won't be visiting Vapiano again.

I think their pasta is good, especially the chicken options. But the prices are a bit high.

The food was incredibly delicious; we had the pasta Arabiatta and the side salad with balsamic dressing. The staff was also super friendly. 10/10, we'd love to come back 😍

Before reporting my post, consider the aggressive attitude of the guy serving food upstairs and one of the bartenders who speaks neither German nor English. There's some serious sorting out to do if you want to restore your establishment's reputation. Courage!] So where do I start? I order spaghetti without chili, and I get penne with chili, so it's spicy. The extra Parmesan (they give you almost nothing) is chargeable, is that a joke? The guy serving food is super aggressive!! The owner handled the situation, while a waiter took away my half-full Coke. I had to ask for another one. A bunch of unfriendly idiots, and on top of that, the food isn't amazing... never again!

Italian food at affordable prices in a European fast food concept

The ordering concept is difficult to understand for customers. Ordering is done via smartphone. However, you have no idea whether your order is being processed or has even arrived. The food is mediocre.

...Vapiano used to be good. Everything has its time. The new way of serving is entirely digital. The pasta tastes like nothing... what a pity.

We had a wonderful evening with really good food at a fair price. My limoncello spritz with fresh mint was especially good!

One child was happy about the playground. There could have been more signs, but otherwise it was very nice. Delicious food. And friendly service. We even had a babyccino.

If you think it's cool that you wait forever for your food to arrive and then forever for your drink, then you should definitely go to this Vapiano! The food isn't too bad, as you'd expect from Vapiano, but it didn't really impress me. Next time, I'll look for a McDonald's because at least you don't have to wait until you get wrinkles and dry up like a shriveled raisin for your drink :))))

Better a slow and painful death…

A self-service Italian restaurant with options that come from coffee to complete meals. Nice environment. Plenty of siting.

Ordered via QR code, drinks were delivered quickly. I tipped through the app. However, my wife had to pick up the food herself on the second floor... I should have given her the tip. The food wasn't bad, but to call it good... 73 euros for four people with simple dishes and four drinks. Take advantage of it. We sat outside; there's a lot to see in the square when the weather is nice 😂

We waited a long time for the food, about an hour for a pasta dish. The dish was good.

Unbelievable! Orders are placed at the table via a QR code, and possible payment methods are listed. If you select a payment method at the cashier and want to complete the order process, you are asked for a tip. After completing your order, you MUST go into the store and pay there; neither food nor drinks are available beforehand (you are not given any information about this, by the way). So, after paying, you need a lot of patience. The wait was endless. My daughter's ordered food, which arrived an hour later, was cold. We waited 30 minutes for the drinks. Others who came after us were completely finished eating before us... Disaster! Never again!

Excellent place to eat in Europe. The closest thing to Brazilian cuisine.

Delicious and easy to order and pay

We were there for lunch. We found the price completely acceptable, the quality was good, and everyone enjoyed it. Okay, there was a little bit of chicken in the salad, but it was perfectly fine for the price. Friendly. We didn't receive a text message to order, but the food still arrived within a perfectly acceptable timeframe. Highly recommended, although the ordering system seems to be a bit unreliable.

I was there for lunch today (valid until 3 p.m.) and was unfortunately very disappointed. For €12.50, I got a Chicken Alfredo with an extremely salty light cream sauce. There were hardly any chicken pieces in it – just three small cubes. The portion itself was also surprisingly small. Although it was a lunchtime special, the value for money wasn't good. The prices have gone up, while the quality has significantly declined. Now I understand why the place was so empty. I wouldn't recommend it – thumbs down.
