Vadder Tisch+Tresen in Frankfurt presents itself with a rather understated decor – a matter of taste, but overall somewhat plain. It was noticeable that the tables were relatively close together, even though there were plenty of empty seats in the restaurant. This detracted slightly from the otherwise pleasant overall impression. The food is of a good to very good standard, with the main courses being particularly impressive. However, I would have liked a bit more variety in the appetizers – both in terms of flavor and composition. An additional vegetarian option on the menu would also be welcome. The repetition of the same salad with similar dressing in two appetizers and two main courses also deserves criticism. This monotony doesn't quite do justice to the otherwise solid cuisine, especially since the salad itself wasn't anything particularly special. The service deserves special mention: Our waiter was extremely attentive, friendly, and humorous, and provided us with excellent advice on both our food and drinks. The fact that he cleared plates while someone was still eating was a minor faux pas, but it only slightly diminishes his dedication and the overall excellent service. All in all, Vadder Tisch+Tresen is definitely recommendable. However, at this price point, I would have liked a bit more variety in the side dishes and appetizers, as well as an additional vegetarian option among the main courses.

We went here specifically on a Friday evening before a concert. The food was good and clearly freshly prepared. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The price-performance ratio was good, and we were lucky that we had made a reservation, as the place filled up very quickly, even early in the evening. Since there's no parking, it can sometimes be difficult to find a spot. But that's nothing unusual in Frankfurt.

As always, not disappointed but delighted... my favorite spot in the Nordend/Ostend area! Great food, great service. I'll definitely be back. Absolutely!!

Great! And it could stay that way. Vadders, located a little off Berger Straße, offers a high-quality alternative to the monotony surroundings. Burgers, schnitzel, pizza, and fries can be found on every corner. But at Vadders, the food is fresh and far removed from all that. Whether it's lamb with paccheri and broad beans, cod with cuttlefish risotto and carrots, or Barbary duck breast with mashed potatoes and pointed cabbage: here, you'll find a whole new level of dining! And for those who prefer classic fare, opt for the veal schnitzel with cranberries. Get a recommendation for a suitable wine from selected regions and spend a wonderful evening. The interior contributes to this, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Add to that the attentive staff, and Vadder himself will occasionally come to your table for anecdotes or a quick chat. Old Dad...Dad is almost inappropriate for Bornheim and Berger Straße, but at the same time, it's just right; a perfect change of pace. And it's been that way for over ten years now. Great!

We had reserved a table and arrived at a restaurant that wasn't full. We were greeted only briefly, in passing, and then shown to our table. We sat at the table for 20 minutes without anyone coming to us. Tables were being served left and right – the service was snippy and downright unfriendly. We left after another 10 minutes, but we still got a water!

Vadder Frankfurt impresses with its excellent cuisine and relaxed atmosphere. The dishes are creative, expertly crafted, and full of flavor. Everything is just right here. If you're looking for good food in a relaxed environment, Vadder is the place to be. A definite recommendation!

We had the 7-course menu with wine pairing. The setting, the food, and the wine selection were all excellent! We'd be happy to go again. Update 7/19/25: We now serve fresh oysters from Brittany on Saturdays – half a dozen for €15. Very fresh and delicious with a great vinaigrette and roasted lemon.

It's been a while since we were at Vadder's. Dinner & drinks with friends. And it was top-notch again. On the plate, in the glass, the atmosphere on the terrace, and the service, too. We each put together a 3-course menu. The flat rate is €50, regardless of which course you choose from the à la carte menu. A 4-course menu costs €65. You can also order each course individually. Everything is priced very fairly, in our opinion. The drinks menu is also very consistent. And: a very good wine selection on a separate menu. A very nice experience and a definite recommendation! Because it was so nice, we spontaneously went to the new 'Bubbles & Oysters' day drinking event today. It will probably be a regular event from now on. You can hardly spend a better or more relaxed Saturday!

We were there for the evening meal and found both the ambiance and the service extremely pleasant. The food was excellent, and the selection of wines and sparkling wines was truly excellent. The prices were a bit on the high side, but I found the service and quality very reasonable.

A little more hidden and therefore less crowded. Vadder offers menus of 2-6 courses at set prices. We particularly enjoyed the breaded organic egg on truffled purée, as well as the Iberico pork. We were able to sample wines by the glass, and bread and hummus were served first (also served later). The service was extremely attentive. When I dropped my bread knife, a new one was promptly there. I like the way the tables are set. The entire team is incredibly friendly. The pineapple was missing from the dessert, and we were given a free digestif. I'm only deducting one star for the value for money. We paid around €160 for two people and three courses, each with two glasses of wine and a bottle of water. The dishes are still lacking a creative finishing touch. Otherwise, a fantastic evening, and we're looking forward to the next time!

Unfortunately we were disappointed with our first visit to Vadder. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio was absolutely not right. An attempt was made to offer upscale cuisine, but at over 20 euros per course you expect the food to be convincing in terms of taste. However, for example, neither the truffle pasta tasted like truffles nor could you detect any grated truffles, as the restaurant's Instagram account suggests. The tuna salad wasn't convincing either, and the promised mustard vinaigrette couldn't be tasted. At the prices quoted, you would definitely expect a higher level of culinary art. The service was nice and attentive, but every now and then a drink was forgotten or a suitable wine for the course could not be recommended or was sold out even though it was still offered on the menu. The ambience was nice, but unfortunately the overall experience was not satisfactory and we were all disappointed with our visit.

Tiny portions for a big price. Very small menu with not a lot of options. Appetizer was delicious. Had the Seeteufel Fish as a main and it was really nothing special… the highlight is definitely the super friendly staff.

The Vadder disappoints significantly in terms of value for money. The restaurant tries to offer fine dining, but falls well short of this claim. The service quality is inadequate: the waitress needed three attempts to correctly take a simple order for two people (two food, two drinks). Even though she had taken notes, she then had to go back to ask again. The taste of the food itself was okay, but by no means outstanding - especially not at a price of 50 euros per person. for starters and main courses. The main course was only served lukewarm. Although the food was attractively presented, the rustic ambience did not match the high prices and the expectations this raised about the overall experience.

I ate here again with my fiancée. Great ambience, phenomenal food and top service. All of this in a very relaxed and more than friendly atmosphere! We can only recommend this restaurant and the constantly changing menu!

An unusual restaurant, friendly service.

First of all: The food was great! We sat outside nicely and the menu selection was good and the prices were fair. However, you have to know that you should take some time with you. In total it took almost 3 hours until our third course was there. That wasn't a problem in itself - unfortunately the service was very unrehearsed and forgetful. We would have liked to have bridged the waiting time with one or two wines - unfortunately we had to ask at least three times for each order and were not proactively asked whether we needed new drinks. Often it was already too late/the food was empty before we got our drinks/bread etc. I would very much like the restaurant to do better in the future, because unfortunately that significantly reduces the experience.

I found the service to be very unfriendly. I had an appointment with an acquaintance. I just wanted to order one dish. This was immediately met with a “No, that won’t work.” You have to order a menu, at least two courses for €50. Customer-friendly behavior looks different to me. It's a shame because I used to enjoy being there.

Very tasty food and great wine pairing! We each had 5 courses and at the end we couldn't say which course actually tasted the best. Everything was absolutely delicious :) it's just a shame that I forgot to take photos of all the dishes - but we'll definitely come back for that!

Super Essen Für Frakfurt schon fast Außergewöhnlich gut. Leider ist es im Lokal zur Herbstzeit sehr kühl genauso wie der an sich sehr guter Rotwein . Die Preise sind für die Qualität absolut faire.

Tip top, einfach alles wunderbar da macht Frankfurt Spaß und lädt ein zum verweilen, wenn wir mal wieder in Ffm sind(das selten vorkommt) , dann auch wieder dort!!!

Sehr freundlicher Service. Man konnte zwischen 3,4,5 und 6 Gängen wählen. Der Gruß aus der Küche wahr sehr lecker und die Vorspeisen kreativ und lecker. Der Zwischengang war topp. Das Hauptgericht, Tagliata, war auf den Punkt gegart. Zum Abschluss einen perfekten Nachtisch. Der hauseigene Weißwein ist zu empfehlen. Preis Leistung angemessen. Insgesamt ein gelungener Abend.

Sensationelle Speisen, handwerklich super und toll auf dem Teller präsentiert. Die Qualität der einzelnen Zutaten ist überragend und die wechselnde Karte unterstreicht die Frische und Qualität, die man auf dem Teller hat. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und auch die Getränkeauswahl ist klasse. Sehr gute, korrespondierende Weine, gutes Bier (Faust Pils, Helles etc…nicht der langweilige Standard). Es gibt auch eine schöne Auswahl an Cocktails, der Old Fashioned war sehr gut. Ich kann einen Besuch zu 100% empfehlen.

Vadder geht irgendwie immer. Sieht von außen eher nach einer alternativen Kneipe aus, die Küche ist allerdings 1A. Klare Empfehlung.

Die Begrüßung der weiblichen Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Der grauhaarige Barkeeper hat noch Nachholbedarf beim Thema Freundlichkeit. Warum man eine Hauptspeise aus dem Menü extra bestellen konnte und die andere nicht erschloss sich uns nicht ganz. Als Vorspeise hatten wir rohen Thunfisch in Sesam an Salat mit einem Himbeer Dressing . Für 18 Euro war die Portion überschaubar. Leider hatte außer dem Dressing nichts wirklich Geschmack. Als Hauptspeise hatten einmal Surf and Turf. Handwerklich gut gemacht und geschmacklich auch sehr gut, war es auch hier wieder für 28 Euro eine überschaubar Portion. Die zweite Hauptspeise war Frischling mit Pastinakenstampf und Gemüse . Die Beilagen haben sehr gut geschmeckt, das Fleisch war leider viel zu trocken. Im Sommer wird ein Barbecue angeboten, da werden wir dem Restaurant trotzdem eine zweite Chance geben.

Ich kann die positiven Bewertungen ehrlich gesagt nicht so ganz verstehen. Von dem vegetarischen Gericht mit Pilzen ist man nicht annähernd satt geworden. Und dafür dann 17€?! Darauf angesprochen, reagierte der Chef eher irritiert. Die Bedienung war aber sehr nett. Daher 3 Sterne.

Good food — small menu with tasty options across starters, mains, and desserts. I had stuffed beetroots for the starter and Weiner Schnitzel for the main. Beets were tasty with a well-dressed salad and a scattering of figs. Schnitzel had a light crumb and the potato salad was delicious. The waitress was friendly and spoke English and German. We asked for advice on an allergy issue and, in truth, she responded too certainly that almost nothing on the menu would be OK without adjustment. But, after having the beets, they would have been fine and the alternative offered for the main was done so without consultation and honestly did nothing for the Schnitzel, other than making it wet underneath and ruining the crumb coating. When the bill came around the waitress mentioned four times that we could leave a tip when paying by card. By the third repeat, the possibility was already gone. The fourth hammered a nail into that coffin. I get it that tips can be important to serving staff, but its earned on merit and not by some necessity. Good food, but not great overall for service and support for an allergy called out early.

Tolles Ambiente, sowohl an der Bar, als auch an den Tischen. Evtl. weniger Auswahl bei den Speisen, als wo anders, das ist aber nicht schlimm, denn es sind besondere Speisen und alle, die ich gesehen hatte, sahen gut aus. Die Ente hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Komme gerne wieder.

Super Service 😍, sehr leckerer Wein (Mauricio Lorca), schönes Lokal. Wachtel war traumhaft, die Ente sehr schön weich, hat aber ein bisschen zu wenig nach Ente geschmeckt. Auch der Backfisch und die Kalbs-Ribs waren toll.

Sind zufällig dort "gelandet". Ohne Reservierung wurden uns flexibel zwei Plätze angeboten. Kleine, feine Karte, schmackhaft zubereitete Speisen, außergewöhnliche Getränkekarte. Jederzeit wieder!

Amazing Hessischer food. Super friendly service. The only challange is a fact that food just keeps on coming. Pork meet with cabbage and potato was the best part of the dinner. Wienner schnitzel was also good, the cod fish in dough was not my favourite. Interesting to drink apple wine next to the local food. Highly recommended.

Wir hatten das Vadder von früheren Besuchen in guter Erinnerung und nach sehr langer Zeit verschlug es uns vergangene Woche erneut dorthin. Das Wetter war schön, wir saßen draußen und der Service war, wie wir das kannten, freundlich und kundenorientiert. Was uns letztendlich nur 2 Sterne wert war, war das Essen, denn davon waren wir echt enttäuscht. Die drei winzigen "Kalbs-Fegatini" hatten Tapas-Größe, so etwa wie die bekannten in Speck eingerollten Datteln, und verschwanden unter dem Berg von Salat. Ganz sicher keine Hauptspeise für die € 16,00 aufgerufen wurden. Auch geschmacklich sagten sie uns nicht zu, es fehlte das gewisse Etwas und die Leber wirkte noch recht roh. DIe bestellten "Wiener Schnitzel" unserer Freunde sahen zwar wunderbar aus, leider überwog jedoch der Panadeanteil mit mindestens 70-80%. Unser Freund zeigte uns das Schnitzelfleisch unter der Panade, man konnte fast hindurchsehen, so dünn war es plattiert. Für geschätzte 30.40 Gramm Fleisch wurden satte € 22,00 aufgerufen. Extrem teure Panade sage ich da nur. Dazu recht überteuerte Weine, im Schnitt für € 8,50 das Glas, lassen die Vermutung aufkommen, dass im Vadder versucht wird sich die Covid-Zeit im Nachhinein zu vergolden. Schade eigentlich.

Wir waren positiv überrascht wie toll das Essen ist, Service war auch sehr freundlich, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir haben Gans to go gemacht und diese vorher per email bestellt. Am Samstag haben wir dann die Gans abgeholt. In einer Styroporpox war noch mal separat folgender Inhalt: Rotkraut, Klöße, Sauce und oben drauf die ganze Gans. Es war alles warm und gut zu transportieren. Wir haben die Gans dann noch mal zu hause (Tipp vom Vadder-Team) kurz in den Ofen geschoben, damit sie knusprig war. Es war alles super lecker, inklusive der Füllung der Gans und es waren ausreichend Beilagen und Sauce (hatte vorher gebeten ausreichend Sacue dazu zu geben). Alles in allem perfekt für die aktuelle Situation. Support your local...

Die Antipasti waren lecker, der Spanferkelrücken war ok. Der thailändische Salat hatte zwar leckere Garnelen, der Salat selbst war einfallslos und scharf wässrig. Grausam war der gespritzte Äppler. Normalerweise erhält man bei einem gespritzten Apfelwein ein Mischungsverhältnis von ca. 3/4 Äppler und 1/4 Wasser. Hier war es umgekehrt. Aus der homöopathischen Mixtur schmeckte man geradeso noch den Äppler raus. Selbst auf die Bitte des Nachschenkens erhielt ich nur einen halben Spritzer dazu. Mir erklärt sich nicht, wie man mit dieser Sparsamkeit Gäste gewinnen will. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam. Alles in allem war's ganz ok, aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht.

Top Restaurant mit behaglicher Eckkneipen-Atmosphäre. Hier werden selbst die Schnitzel frisch geklopft.
