Umami Ramen Stuttgart in Stuttgart

My favorite ramen when in Stuttgart, especially during winter or spring. The ramen broth was perfect (not to thick nor light) the meat was perfect too!

On Sundays, you're hungry, but you don't want to have to eat burgers and pizza again, so you look at what's still open at 8 p.m. and is easily accessible, and you quickly end up here. We arrived from Remseck, which actually went quickly. At the Rathaus stop you walk for about 2 minutes and you're already there. I was surprised at how crowded it seemed for a Sunday and I was also a little afraid of how people would react to Dotty, but a waiter asked me if I wanted to go in and if I was eating alone, I agreed and Dotty and I were sitting here eating. The menu is not very big, which is good, I ordered the vegan ramen in the broth with onions without TOFU, 5 dough dumplings with soy sauce, Japanese croquettes and extra rice in a plastic cup for Dotty. The rice came first, Dotty immediately pounced on it, then the dumplings came and Dotty wanted to eat them too. Then came the croquettes, and I have to say that Japanese croquettes are much softer than ours, much more tender etc. Finally came the noodles and an extra portion which I also ordered. The broth smelled very good, the noodles were delicious, even Dotty felt like she ate a fifth of the food. The dumplings were so good that I ate them before I could take a photo... The ambience is really nothing special, but there are sturdy wooden benches and everything is well lit. so everything is fine. the staff is nice and very respectful, the lemon soda that was recommended to me was really good, I was even able to take the rice with me. In summary, I can say that you can eat well here, the portions are medium-sized, the prices are in the medium range, everyone is nice, so what more could you want?

The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, and if I were to live in Stuttgart, it would definitely be my favorite restaurant. The ramen are large and very tasty. We waited outside twice until a table was available, but it didn't take that long.

The ramen is super delicious! The staff are extremely friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. The service is also quick and although it is always busy and the restaurant is quite small, we never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for a free table. I can only recommend it!

Food was super tasty. We had 3 starters, 1 vegetarian ramen, 1 pork belly ramen and the mochi ice cream. Also nice service and a nicely decorated shop. What more could you want?

We were there on Saturday evening. The store was very busy - all the seats outside and inside were full. We waited in line for about 15 minutes. After that everything happened quickly. The service was friendly and the food came in a timely manner. For starters we had edamame and kara-age, which I highly recommend. The chicken pieces were nice and crispy. For the main course we chose Umami Miso and Umami Kara Miso. The Kara Miso had a pleasant spiciness. Both ramens are highly recommended.

We were here right after Christmas (2024) and were lucky as we walked past a larger group was coming out and there was almost no one in line so we got a spot straight away, otherwise it's always a long one Snake in front of it. The atmosphere is dark and I find the wall decorations funny. The ramen tastes solid, although I don't understand the hype. I've had better ramen in Stuttgart What I personally didn't like was that the noodles weren't fresh (instant noodles) and the toppings were cold. The service is great, you can get bibs on request and special requests were also taken into account. There is also the delicious Japanese lemonade here

If you ever have the chance to come to this restaurant, you will find a wonderful ambience. The ramen can almost keep up with the original and certainly doesn't disappoint.

My colleague and I had an excellent meal here. We had karage as a starter. This chicken was first class. I had Tonkotsu Ramen, which was equally exquisite. The ambience complemented the food perfectly. Pleasant Japanese music with authentic decor. Lastly, the service was also flawless.

I was honestly disappointed. The food was tasty, but it wasn't "wow". There were few ingredients in the ramen and the taste was just "okay". The menu was also very limited, I would have expected more choice.

I think it is one of the best Japanese Ramen places in the city. But usually very crowd and packed. Also lining up is usually a must.

The place is always full and even during the week there is a queue outside. Due to the quick preparation of the food and the fast service, the waiting time is kept to a minimum. It's very tight in the restaurant and you can follow every conversation. It is correspondingly loud in the restaurant. The food was okay, but everyone has their preferences and mine weren't quite met. Overall recommended, but I wouldn't necessarily go there a second time.

You always have to expect to wait at least 30 minutes. There is always a queue. Unfortunately, you get the feeling that everything has to happen quickly. So it's not for sitting there for long. Ramen is really delicious, even though I don't like it that much, it convinced me. It's also really filling in terms of quantity. The person is quite friendly and the food came within 10 minutes. If you want you can order extras, for example eggs.

I am a Taiwanese who came to Germany to visit. I was not used to German food and just found this ramen shop! I ordered spicy miso ramen, dandan noodles (spicy) and tonkotsu ramen. Personally, I think the spicy miso ramen is better than the dandan noodles! A bowl of noodles costs about 10-15 euros

The food was very tasty and the portions were huge. 😋 What I didn't like: The walls and tables were very dirty. Although many tables were free, the two of us were not allowed to sit at a larger table.

Love coming here during the cold months for a piping bowl of hot ramen. The chicken tan tan men is a generous portion and has the right kick. They do not take reservations so you will have to wait in line if it is full but it is worth the wait. Service is quick and attentive as well. Pop by if you are in Stuttgart!

01/29/25: After we tried several times to get a table (very long queues) it worked today. We received a very friendly welcome. The menu was already on the table. The service was there within a short time. We ordered Chicken Miso and Chicken Tan Tan Men. Each an excellent choice😁. Both soups were very tasty. The Tan Tan Men is spicy💪, but still tolerable. We'll go back when there's no more queue 😉 and we'll give our recommendation 👍. Just try it out yourself.

There was a line infront of the restaurant at approx. 3:30 pm at saturday. The waiting was worth it! Yaki gyoza as appetizer and drinks came very fast. Afterwards the ramen. Very authentic Japanese food!

Have eaten here several times now and every time it is delicious and the service is really nice! There are vegan options for ramen and dishes. You should know that it is usually very full and you may have to wait a few minutes until something becomes available. But it always worked out somehow for us. Big recommendation ♡

Unfortunately, the restaurant is always so full that you can't get a seat and are asked to wait outside in the cold at 1 degree. It is very, very crowded and therefore loud. If you're willing to wait an hour, the food is pretty good.

All time favorite Ramen place in Stuttgart. If you come here, bring time or come when this place opens up. A wait is inevitable. The food is great and the staff always friendly. I highly recommend ordering the karaage and tantan ramen!

Umami is one of those places that does not need advertising, the food is excellent, the service too, perhaps the place would need to be bigger, every time I have been it is full, many times you even have to wait. You cannot reserve a table in the restaurant. We had to wait outside the restaurant for about 20 minutes on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. A great touch was that free hot tea was distributed to those waiting. It's relatively tight in the restaurant. In addition, it was unfortunately cold outside. The menu offers a small but varied selection. We were served friendly and quickly. The food was very tasty and the quantity was absolutely sufficient. Ramen was tasty and overall tasted a little better than the ones at a direct competitor in downtown Stuttgart (but the competitor had larger portions). Should you queue for 15 - 30 minutes? Tasty Ramen in the center of Stuttgart. Had to wait a bit outside in line before a table was available. Had the veg. Gyozas as a starter, which were solid. The Veggie Yuzu Shoyu had great umami, the tofu was really soft. The staff is kind and welcoming.

Was looking for a ramen place in Stuttgart. Ended up here after reading the reviews. For Vegan version, the ramen are replaced by Udon? Anyway, service was ok, the bowls came fairly fast. Very disappointed because all the meats, eggs, and Tofu came cold! I am surprised nobody mentioned that.

Service und Location sind nett. Dass Essen, eine vegetarische Ramen-Variante, hat leider nicht überzeugt. Ein Berg Nudeln mit nicht wirklich überzeugend aromatischer Brühe, ein paar Algen, ein bisschen trauriger Tofu und ( Achtung, schrecklich) einer halben Dose Mais 😮 - so geht lecker leider nicht 😑. We recently visited this wonderful place, and I must say, we were pleasantly surprised! The ramen here is a real masterpiece. And of course my favorite wan-tan is one love ❤️ I recommend this place to all lovers of Asian cuisine - everyone will find something to their liking here. I went around 1 o'clock and there were about 5-6 teams waiting. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I was able to enter, and after taking my order, the food came out really quickly. I ordered miso ramen, tonkotsu ramen, tantanmen, and chicken tantanmen, and also ordered kimchi. The food overall was delicious. However, like ramen, it is a little too salty for Korean tastes. Still, ramen with warm soup is a great meal in the winter.

The best ramen I've ever eaten! I've tried several ramen restaurants in different cities, but none of them top Umami. The wait is absolutely worth it and even though space is sometimes tight, the food is always so impressive that I've been there many times. Highly recommended!

Decided to eat here with my spouse on a cold night after walking around. The ramen was really really good, I’ve had ramen in Japan & several Asian countries, I think this is the best one I’ve had in Germany! They had kirin beer on tap which was a nice touch and the chicken karrage was really good!

It tastes incredibly delicious every time 😋 Sometimes it's very crowded and you have to wait in line outside because a lot of people want to have the delicious food. Understandable. Cozy little restaurant at the Stuttgart town hall. Since there aren't that many seats, we had to wait about 10 minutes until we got a table (we were there around 1 p.m.). Tonkotsu Ramen was tasty, in our opinion a bit too much noodles and not enough toppings. We got the food pretty quickly.

Very good restaurant for ramen noodles. There is a clear menu with starters and main prizes, as well as cold and warm drinks such as Japanese teas, lemonades and beer. We had to wait a bit outside, so I would always recommend making a reservation. Our order was taken quickly and delivered quickly. Everything we ordered was hot and tasted very good. Freshness and quality are very good for the price.
