Very good food, perfect service and a very great atmosphere

Cold burger, coconut soup was so thin and without sophistication, only a small broccoli floret was added. 2 small chicken skewers for 10.50 euros. Sushi plate ok but not much for 79.00 euros. Lack of value for money. We cannot understand positive reviews.

Unfortunately I ordered the red Thai curry with duck. I can't recommend it. Next time I'll try the sushi.

Very tasty, very attentive service but a bit loud "working noises". It was still bearable, but every now and then it rumbled. Still highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

The stars actually say it all! Upscale ambience, a friendly welcome and the sushi on offer is on par with the aforementioned attributes! Or to put it another way, the glutamate kitchen is left behind.

The food at Umami was really very good! We had the surprise platter for 2 people. I thought it was very good that we were first asked about allergies and intolerances. Since we have no restrictions, we were able to be completely surprised. From tempura vegetables to fried rolls, California rolls and maki to nigiri and sashimi. Everything was really, really good and I could have indulged in the homemade teriyaki sauce. The service was also very courteous and attentive. Really a great evening at Umami.

Very good sushi! Delicious soups, but the crème brulee was underground 🙈 Prices were quite high...The fish was of very good quality and the quantity was plentiful. But I found 5.80 for a small extra bowl of rice on an order of 150 euros very cheeky! Therefore, one point deducted!

We were coming from Amsterdam to Hamburg. On the way, we have a small transit to Oldenburg Hbf. Then all of our friends were craving for Sushi. We searched the good sushi restaurant nearby Oldenburg Hbf in google app. It showed us Umami Oldenburg Sushi restaurant. We went there and first of all we liked the ambience of the restaurant, service staffs are also polite and friendly. We ordered sushi & the food comes so early. We don't have to wait such longer. The Sushi is so yummy and the decoration of Sushi in a wooden board looks so beautiful.

Were there a while ago... wasn't good.

We went there for dinner today with a reservation for two people. We decided on a mixed sushi variation (put together ourselves). The service person, male, was very helpful, quick and friendly. There is no better sushi in Oldenburg We didn't expect much from the service, we know the personnel problem in the catering industry. The only drawback was the poor lighting at the table, no candle or light that could better showcase the food. The price didn't bother us... sushi, 2 wine, 2 water, 2 scoops of very tasty ice cream. 100 euros plus 10 euros tip, everything ok for Oldenburg

The best sushi I've ever had! The Wagyu burger and duck with red curry were also fantastic. The service was very calm and pleasant, attentive and well-rehearsed. The interior design is very nice and also ensures general well-being. We'll definitely be back.

We ordered Sushiuberraschungsplatte for two. The cost is 70 Euros. Unfortunately, Crunchysushi is not on the menu. This plate also includes fried broccoli and carrots. I can say that we generally liked the sushi. The environment is very stylish, but I cannot say that the employees are very attentive. They put soy sauce on the plates on the table and take the sauce bottle back, and if the sauce is not enough, you have to request it again every time. This was annoying. After the meal, after the plates were removed from the table, the attendant wiped the table and threw the spilled food remnants on the table directly to the floor. So, after the meal, you leave the restaurant by stepping on the rice and food residue that spilled on the table, and this was disturbing for me. If I were to compare price and performance, I went and tried it once and I don't think I'll go again.

It was my first time in this restaurant and I have to say that I was impressed by both the service and the food. Everything is right here! The service here is on a level that I miss in other restaurants. Keep it up - I'll be back and would recommend it to all my friends and acquaintances.

Very good service. The ambience is very nice. You have a great view of the Stautor roundabout. The sushi tasted excellent and was super fresh. There is also a cheaper S in Oldenburg ushi with similarly good quality. Or to put it another way: Given the price, there could have been one or two more pieces on the plate for my taste.

The food was very good and fresh, I really liked it, the service was excellent and they also explained what we were eating, the place was very nice but I would give it a dusting and above all I would remove the cobwebs from the lamps.

Wir waren zu zweit da. Freundliches aber teilweise unbeholfenes Personal. Ich hatte den Wayu-Burger. Für 24€ zu klein, das Geld nicht wert: geschmacklich kein Highlight. Patty außen schwarz , innen zu durch für das Fleisch. Ein so ein hochwertiges/preisiges Produkt muss man besser machen oder von der Karte nehmen. Mayonnaise zu buttrig. Der erste lillet-wild Berry meiner Partnerin war komplett durchsichtig. Auf die Bitte den nächsten etwas stärker zu machen, der junge Kellner: „ das können wir leider nicht… Habe ich heute schon mal gehört.“ Whaaattt??? Der zweite lillet war dann aber besser:)) Vlt einfach doch beim Sushi bleiben… die Ente soll auch besser sein. Wir werden es nochmal probieren.

New Year's Eve 6.30 p.m. The table was pre-booked. We were kindly accompanied and served from the entrance to the table. Everyone was very attentive and so friendly. Everyone had these lovely smiles. The four-course menu was indescribably delicious, a pure taste explosion. This is how the year can end, thank you for this wonderful moment. The chef & his team, applause🎉🍀🍄🐖 until next year 2024❣️

Gutes Sushi, leider schlechtes Essen. Der Bürger und die Ramen waren unbefriedigend, geschmacklich einfach schlecht.

Ich war hier das erste und letzte Mal. der Service war unterirdisch, die Preise dafür sehr Happig. die Servicekräfte haben ständig Bestellungen vergessen, einfach die Gläser abgeräumt. als wir sagten wir würden evtl auch was trinken wollen, hätte man uns gefragt.. wurden die Gläser pampig wieder zurückgestellt. ab 21 Uhr wurde einem das Gefühl gegeben man sei nicht willkommen und müsse sich beeilen. reine Geldverschwendung der Laden!

Uns wurde eine grandiose vegane Sushiplatte zusammengestellt! Es gab vier verschiedene, die alle unglaublich lecker waren. Der Service war wirklich toll und nett! An den Fensterplätzen ist es etwas kalt, für meinen Geschmack.

I recently enjoyed the best sushi experience in Oldenburg! The tuna sashimi was incredibly fresh, the fish was of high quality, and the tempura teig wantan had a delightful crispy texture on top. A must-try for sushi enthusiasts!

Liebes Umami Team für einen Esslöffel großen Wakame Salat 10,40€ zu verlangen ist schon echt traurig. Schade! Auch wenn das Essen geschmacklich echt gut ist. Bei dem Salat hab ich mich veräppelt gefühlt.

I was with my wife, we tried the chef menu. Food = Great Ambient = good and cozy with minimalism look. Service = Great, they keep checking on us if we need anything else or if everything alright. They also asked if the next round can be serve. Place = we reserved a table. They dont seem to have many table, so best to reserve before coming. Overall = Great

Ca. alle 4 Wochen fahren wir fast 100km, nur um hier Sushi zu essen. Das sagt irgendwie alles. Top Service, chillige Atmosphäre und mega leckere Sushi. Vom Anrichten bis zur Qualität immer gleich gut. Preis/ Leistung sind hier absolut stimmig.

Wir hatten eunen wundervollen Abend

Es ist eher eine japanische Fusionsküche als eine authentische japanische Küche, aber es ist ein wirklich angenehmes Restaurant. Die Atmosphäre und das Interieur sind wirklich schön. Die Preise sind möglicherweise etwas teurer als in anderen japanischen Restaurants. Gehen Sie an einem besonderen Tag dorthin. Da Omakase nur mit Vorreservierungen funktioniert, habe ich um Bestellungen am selben Tag gebeten, war aber von der freundlichen und höflichen Weigerung des Personals nicht beleidigt. Eine Sache, auf die man in Fischrestaurants achten sollte, ist der Wasserbecher. Wenn Sie zum ersten Mal Wasser trinken, riecht es nicht. Wenn Sie während einer Mahlzeit Wasser trinken, kann es sein, dass aus dem Wasserbecher ein Fischgeruch austritt. Das war bisher bei fast allen Restaurants der Fall, es sei denn, es handelte sich um Spitzenrestaurants, und ich glaube nicht, dass dies ein Faktor ist, der nur diesem Restaurant Punkte abzieht. Dies ist ein Restaurant, in das ich an ganz besonderen Tagen gerne zurückkehren möchte.

War sehr harmonisch, sehr zufrieden. Das Personal perfekt. Unheimlich, so hat man es gerne. Ein sehr schönes Erlebnis mitten in der Woche. Danke.

Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal mit gutem Essen. Es gibt auch eine große Auswahl an alkoholfreien und alkoholhaltigen Getränken. Die Sanitäranlagen sind sauber.

Leider baut das Umami spürbar ab. Der Service gibt sich Mühe aber aufgrund von Sprachbarrieren, ist eine Kommunikation mit einigen Mitarbeitern nur eingeschränkt möglich. Es fehlt dem Service das Feingefühl und know-how um der hochpreisigen und qualitativ sehr guten Küche gerecht zu werden. Die Überraschungsplatte ist wenig überraschend, da immer die selben Sushisorten zubereitet werden.

Wir waren zu einem besonderen Anlass dort und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr gutes Sushi in reichlicher Menge zu einem akzeptablen Preis. Wer in Oldenburg gutes Sushi essen möchte, kommt an Umami nicht vorbei! Weiter so und danke für das tolle Essen.

Essen einfach eine 10/10. Sushi und den Burger durften wir bis jetzt bei unseren 4 Besuchen probieren. Jedesmal fasziniert davon wie lecker Essen sein kann. Vor allem der Burger hat es mir persönlich angetan. Ambiente und Personal ist auch immer top. Ich kann es für besondere Anlässe nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Also ich würde dort immer Essen gehen wen der bei mir vor Ort wäre. Ich habe noch nichts besseres erlebt wie dieses Lokal…

Sind heute zu 4 Essen gewesen. SERVICE TOP. Ramen sehr gut und das Sushi besonders der Thunfisch ist absoluter Wahnsinn. Klassiker wie Edamame sind auch sehr gut. Kann man nur empfehlen. Tipp: Kirin Bier bestellen

Obwohl ich noch nie im Leben das Japanische Festland besucht habe muss ich schon echt sagen, dass dieses Restaurant mit seiner Ambiente einen viruell nach Japan bringt. Das Essen war für seinen Preis was wert, ich kann mich nicht beschweren.

UMAMI is a cozy, well-run, and high-quality place right in the heart of Oldenburg center, close to the pedestrian zone and within a 10min. walking distance from the train station. Nice and careful service, tasteful music, excellent wine choices. But the standout on this first visit was the "Überraschungs -Teller" (for 2), essentially a well-appointed plate of sashimi, nigiri, as well as assorted Maki rolls, which two people in fact may struggle with finishing. The portions were generous and the quality of the sushi first-class, by international standards. Other excellent choices proved to be the soups, both carot-ginger, as well as coconut milk creation. Seaweed salad appatizer also with a deep flavour. Highly recommendable, and we have seen a lot of good sushi in far flung places as well as the US, Brazil. Rarely has it been such a successful experience as at this establishment.

Wir waren zu dritt zum ersten Mal im Umami! Wow! Super nette, höfliche und aufmerksame Bedienung in einem tollen Ambiente. Wir hatten u.a. die große Sushi-Platte für 2 Personen. Alles extrem lecker und so viel, dass wir ein Doggyback benötigten am Ende. Der Wein, ein Primitivo, war ebenfalls exzellent. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Das Umami ist im ehemaligen Sherpa-Restaurant und ist von der Einrichtung relativ ähnlich geblieben. Das Essensangebot ist ähnlich, es gibt viel Sushi, aber auch andere Gerichte wie Steak und Nudeln. Wir haben die Sushi-Platte für 2 Personen gegessen, die wirklich fantastisch war! Sie kostet 55 EUR und ist den Preis auch wert! Die Wein-Empfehlung passte ebenfalls, so dass es ein sehr gelungener Abend war, zumal auch das Service-Personal ausgesprochen freundlich und sympathisch war. Da gehen wir gerne wieder hin!
