I ordered Chicken Nuss to pick up. Here on the menu it costs 16.90, I paid 22.90. It was watery, very few vegetables and 6 euro more expensive that I expected. I feel robbed. Besides that, the service is always very unkind.

Very, very tasty Vietnamese food in the basement near the Alster. Despite the rooms being really full at lunchtime, the food is on the table quickly and prepared super fresh. The tempura chicken is definitely the crispiest I've ever had! No matter what dish it is, it looks as delicious as it tastes. Definitely recommended!

The food was very good. However, the service is more reminiscent of a fast food restaurant - handling without much friendliness. My order was only answered: "Number?". It was also cleared away super quickly. The obvious goal: quickly reoccupy the table. If you don't value good service, you'll be happy with the culinary delights here.

We dropped in on short notice after seeing the solid reviews and decided to go for the lunch menu — two quick mains, one with tofu in a lemongrass sauce and veggies, and I went with the crispy chicken in red curry with rice. Service? Lightning fast. Food? Decent, but didn’t exactly sweep us off our feet. To keep it short: both sauces felt a bit tame, almost flat. The red curry coconut sauce was on the watery side, and the veggie mix could’ve used more variety — zero cauliflower, barely any broccoli. As for the tofu dish, the tofu itself was pretty sparse compared to the generous portion of crispy chicken on my plate. Bottom line: price-to-portion ratio is okay, especially considering the central Hamburg location. We left full, but those 4.8-star reviews? A bit of a mystery to us. If you’re in the mood for a no-fuss Vietnamese lunch with zero surprises, this spot won’t let you down — just don’t expect fireworks.

The food was great. Very very tasty. Unfortunately I have to deduct one star because the tables inside are too close to each other. I can understand that you want to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to dine, but you don't have enough privacy to linger comfortably.

The food was delicious overall. Service was somewhat slow, even though it was very quiet, but friendly. The dishes were very expensive compared to other Asian restaurants. And for the price, I would have expected a bit more in terms of presentation, or simply a mountain of salad with no dressing on the side of the plate. Sorry, the price/performance ratio wasn't justified. €30 for a main course with duck and a large beer. And a bowl of rice, without tip.

Visited with husband and son, had just arrived in hamburg and found u kitchen was near by. Staff were a bit miserable and hostile. Food, in our opinion, was excellent. We had starters and mains, and we were stuffed! Never had Vietnamese food before, and we loved it. The place is quite small. Luckily it wasn't full at the time we went. I can imagine it's rather snug when busy. Would visit again. Shame there isn't one where we live.

Honestly: expensive, very cramped, unfriendly waitresses. You are better off going to other Vietnamese restaurants in Hamburg. I went here because the reviews seem convincing, not at all. Food was salty. I feel like they try to get as much money for as little service possible. Absolutely overpriced for very below average food quality. You sit very close to other people, can’t even talk without hearing other people or have your conversations heard of. I don’t understand why there are so many tables in one small room. You can’t even move without toppling other people’s table if you aren’t careful. Came for the noodle soup, was very unimpressed. The drinks are something else when it comes to price. You’d think you’d get very fresh homemade drinks when you pay 7€, it was only mix of syrup and soda. Never again.

We were only in Vietnam 4 weeks ago and were therefore very spoiled and critical and can only say that it is very close to the Viet cuisine from the country. In terms of taste and also the products, which is very difficult. The arrangement and service were also very good. Thank you until next time

I visited the city and after having colleagues tell me about the place I had to visit. I ordered sprimg rolls and duck curry with a side of kimchi and a small coke, a large was brought. At the time of order(18:00hrs) there were 5 tables total in both parts of the restaurant. After 20 minutes 3 more tables came in. I waited 55 minutes in total for my food (which never came) all ehilst seeing every other table being served before me and the food looked fantastic. I asked the hostess that Im not willing to wait anymore and the least I can do is settle my small Coke, which was charged at a large price, with no apology, nor a solution and was asked if I wanted a take away, I refused as my hotel was 25 mins walk away and Id walked purposefully to eat ther. I settled the bill for my coke rather annoyed at the whole time wasting inconsiderate experience. Food looked great, service was careless and non existant

Ich war Montagmittag in der U Kitchen. Das Lokal war brechend voll, was ja erstmal für Qualität spricht. Ich hatte Vor- und Hauptspeise und eine Homemade Limonade. Alles war gut, mehr aber nicht. Eher Asia-Mainstream. Im Lokal herrscht ein unglaublich hoher Umschlag an Plätzen, was deutlich auf die Atmosphäre drückt. Harrsche Platzanweisung und sofortiges Bezahlen, wenn der Teller leer ist, ist dort Standard waren ein weiterer Punkt für „ungemütliche Nahrungsaufnahme“.

Wir waren am 15.02 im Ukitchen essen. Der Service war sehr gut. Man hat sehr schnell eine Karte bekommen und es wurde einem trotzdem genug Zeit gegeben um sich was ansprechendes raus zu suchen. Nach der Bestellung kam das Essen dann auch sehr schnell. Was mich persönlich beeindruckt hat, ist das es zu jedem Gericht ein Bild gibt das man eine Vorstellung hat wie es aussieht. Die Portionen war gar nicht mal so klein und man wurde gut satt. Der Preis war sehr angemessen für die Portionsgröße. Im großen und Ganzen ein sehr leckeres Essen. Aufjedenfall weiter zu empfehlen.

We were there around 3 p.m. It's small, has lots of seats and yet isn't too cramped. The service is quick but not hectic. The drinks and food came really quickly and were very good. Above all, the food was very tasty. Vegetables crunchy, sauce well seasoned and the meat very tender. As already written here, the prices are, in my opinion, absolutely reasonable. We'll come back when we're on the corner again.

It is quite satisfying in terms of taste and portion. We ate/drank very nice things. The environment is a bit noisy and cramped. I can't say the service is bad, but it could be better.

The food is awesome. Price-performance ratio is appropriate (especially considering the location and taste). 90% of the service is unparalleled... the 10% is the coordination among the employees. One can only say that the atmosphere is very cozy and cozy :) We reserved a table for 7 p.m. on Saturday, each ordered a drink, an appetizer and each ordered a main course. In the end we paid around €60. We were absolutely happy!

Geschmacklich war es schon solide und lecker. Die uns bedienenden Personen freundlich. Aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier gar nicht. Zum einen sind auf deren eigener Webseite noch veraltete Preise für die Gerichte ausgeschrieben (Hauptgerichte ca. 2 €, Vorspeisen zT 3€ teurer mittlerweile) und zum anderen sind 7,90€ für 2 Frühlingsrollen wirklich nicht gerechtfertigt. Das Ambiente ist eher auf Masse aus, als dass man wirklich gemütlich oder länger sitzen könnte.

This is the fourth time I've eaten here and I have to say that it is my absolute favorite restaurant, not just in Hamburg but in Germany in general. The food is really a 10/10 and I can only recommend the Red Curry to everyone! The employees are also super nice and are always happy to see what they are communicating. - anni 🌻

The meal was excellent. There were three of us there and we had summer rolls as a starter. For the main course, my companion had a rice noodle salad and an udon noodle soup. I myself ordered a Phở Bo. Unfortunately this was misunderstood, so I had to order again. Since I am against food waste, I paid for both dishes and took them with me. We paid €120 for everything together. But everything was very tasty.

Me and my brother went here, the staff is very nice and polite. The food was above our expectations. We ordered the duck, chicken and shrimp dish. I will post pictures. It's near Hamburg Rathaus. I recommend if you love Asian cooking. :)

Went in for lunch and ordered the M3 - Bun with beef. For €13.50 I only got a pittance of beef, barely 10 grams of protein. I'll get the duck dish next time, you seem to get more meat. Other than that it's pretty okay.

Waren (ich und meine Tochter) am 30.12.2024 spontan und zufällig im Ukitchen zum Mittagessen. Sehr freundlich und leckeres vietnamesisches Essen. Tee wurde traditionell in Schale serviert. Gerne wieder. Wird auch anscheindend gerne von Stammgästen besucht, was für die Qualität spricht.

The food was great, and the service too. But they were extremely pushy about getting a good review (even clicking the buttons on your phone). They would've gotten a great review anyways, so I'm not sure why they did that

Food was great! Service was not good. First we were guided to a table with 6 chairs only to be told a few moments later we needed to move to a 4-chair table (sternly). After finishing our food we were pressured to leave because there was another party of 4 waiting - we hadn’t even finished our drink.

We happened to eat there on the evening of December 25th and left super happy and stuffed. The lady who served us was super attentive and professional. The food and drinks came quickly one after the other. Only after the dishes came did we understand how huge the portions were! Despite the generous portions, the quality didn't suffer. The spring rolls and summer rolls were super crunchy, hot and fresh. The udon noodle "aldente)))" the pho soup with a super tasty broth and a lot of ingredients and toppings. Thank you for a great "Christmas dinner".

Friendly restaurant for the office workers and shop assistants on the surrounding streets. Of course, Ukitchen has little to do with “Vietnamese” food. Here you'll find the usual Thai fusion convenience food that needs to be warmed up in five minutes. If you mean well, you can describe the cuisine as Asian fusion. The restaurant is probably called “Vietnamese” because “Thai” no longer offers a USP.

We were there on a Saturday evening. The interior of the restaurant is very well done and I really like it. The food, chicken with red curry, wasn't bad per se, but wasn't really good either. The portion of salad on the plate was too large and I had asked for my food to be very spicy. Unfortunately it wasn't even medium hot. I am dissatisfied with the long wait for the food. This was all the more annoying because a neighboring table ordered clearly after us and their food came about 10 minutes before ours. Too bad.

The service was the worst I have ever experienced. We hadn't even finished eating and were then charged and asked to leave... the table had been reserved, even though we also had a reservation and weren't even there for an hour!!! And paid a lot of money for it... absolute disgrace. If you want good service and a cozy evening you shouldn't go here.

Great food in the immediate vicinity of the Jungfernstieg/Town Hall/Alster. The service is very nice, comes regularly, but not intrusively. The food is great, from the starter (soup) to the main course (see photos) to the dessert, very tasty and reasonably priced. Overall it costs less than €35 and in my opinion that's reasonable for the amount.

I had business lunch at Ukitchen once. The food was good, the service quick and friendly. It was quite full around noon, which I take as a good sign.

A little bit hidden, this Asian food spot delivers authentic meals that taste just soooo good! As we went there, we were the only guests, so we had it pretty chill and we enjoyed our stay a lot. You should pay a visit, they deserve so much more attention! Nice staff, nice food and nice ambience.

UKitchen is a delightful spot for affordable, delicious food in a cosy environment. The dishes were packed with flavor, and the fresh ingredients really stood out. The curry, in particular, was a highlight—exceptionally creamy and well-spiced, it had a richness that kept us coming back for more. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a comfortable place to unwind with friends or family. However, we encountered a bit of an awkward moment when it came to paying. Although we preferred to pay by card, we felt pressured to pay in cash, with the staff asking several times despite our insistence. In the end, we were able to pay by card, but it was a bit uncomfortable.

the chicken was pretty good, the sauce too. The vegetables were mediocre. The soup was not very nutritious. Too expensive in general for what is offered. It's a shame that the waitress doesn't understand any German, even though we've made every effort to learn the language and speak it here.

I had a delicious meal here with my wife and one of my sons. Very friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. You'll be happy to come back there. Today my wife and I were here for the second time and everything was as described above. Very nice.
