There were three of us there, we made a spontaneous reservation, and the service was great. The food came quickly and tasted delicious! I had a lime lemonade, highly recommended, and we'd love to come back :)

The food was OK, nothing outstanding. Some of the prices were unreasonable. Too bad. The mint and cucumber lemonade for €6.90: seltzer, a sprig of mint, and sticky cucumber syrup, not a single piece of cucumber in it.

2025.10.23: really good Vietnamese restaurant. I tried the pho soup and the bun with chicken and both were really good. During lunchtime on weekdays both cost 10,9 euros, one of the best price-value ratio in the downtown for sure. Decent portions, make you full pretty much.

Definitely not a high rating for this place. They offer you a table in a space that's way too crowded, give you a menu, and then forget about you. Then the food finally arrives, and it's very average and tasteless. No, this place is way too noisy and subpar in terms of space, service, and experience! Look elsewhere for a local place that offers a real experience, service, and quality.

Although the food was awesome. The Service could be better. The communication could be improved. It fehlt like shouting Sometimes when taking Orders. This could be cultural but a Suggestion.

The staff was rude, and the food was very disappointing: the squid was overcooked to a crisp, and the tempura was far too thick. The few limp lettuce leaves under our appetizers didn't suggest we were unlucky. The price-quality ratio is poor. It was incredibly noisy; we couldn't hear each other. Luckily, we didn't order everything at once. Such a shame; the reviews paint a different picture.

We've been to many Vietnamese restaurants, and so far, this has been the best Vietnamese food we've ever eaten. We especially recommend the Pho soup and UFO noodles.

We believed the good reviews and spontaneously stopped by on Saturday with four people. The food wasn't that great. The pho broth had a somewhat artificial taste, and the meat had a strange texture. The teriyaki sauce was bland and had an aftertaste that none of us could identify.

Not recommended. I chose this place because I was looking for a new place to try. Of all the places I chose based on reviews and star ratings on Google Maps, this was the only one that failed. I love Vietnamese food and often go there when I eat out in Korea, France, and Switzerland, but I don't understand how this place gets such high ratings for its quality and service. The staff was extremely rude when we took our orders, and there was no apology for the delays in ordering or serving our food. The woman taking our orders didn't even say hello, just asked, "What do you want to eat? What? What? And what do you want to drink?" and then stormed off. The food arrived a while later. I ordered pho, but it was just salt water. It lacked depth, and they seemed to have used fewer vegetables to conserve ingredients. A piece of steel wool came out, so I asked for a replacement, but it felt like they just gave it back (it came out too quickly). There was no apology for the steel wool. The duck dish was pre-fried, so it wasn't crispy, but rather soggy. It was just so-so, and you could taste the sauce. This is the first restaurant in a long time that made me feel like I wasted my money. If you've had any experience with Vietnamese food, avoid this place.

Today at 1:00 PM, I ordered a small rice dish (M1) with salmon. The quality of the food was very good. The service was attentive, and the server promptly provided all the necessary utensils and side dishes.

Homade drinks are just the best, we (the friend group of 6) had icelime, mangohomade and etc. and honestly those were just unmatched anywhere else. Altho the food is asia, which we don’t usually eat because its not our thing, but here this restaurant proves different. Ps: They also didn’t even ask for tip lol so nice people (We gave 10%)

The restaurant is great for delicious food with good value for money. It gets very busy at lunchtime, and guests have to wait a while for their food to be served. But it's worth it. The service is obliging, and the atmosphere doesn't invite you to linger.

I spontaneously met up with friends at Ukitchen on a Friday evening. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. The portions were also quite generous. A prime location on Jungfernstieg. I can recommend it to anyone for a casual, relaxed dinner. The service, by the way, was super friendly and not overly intrusive.

Disappointing – Questionable 5-Star Reviews We visited the restaurant because of the many 5-star reviews – unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. After a long wait, my husband (an Asian with extensive experience in Asian cuisine) politely addressed the waiter. The reaction was shocking: loud, impatient, and very rude ("Say what you want quickly – quick, quick!"). The atmosphere at the table was ruined; even the neighboring tables looked irritated. The appetizers were okay, but the main courses were disappointing – not convincing in terms of taste and quality. We wouldn't have commented on them, but this disrespectful treatment is unacceptable. How all these 5-star reviews come about is a mystery to us. For us, it was the first and last time.

My visit was disappointing and, in some parts, simply unacceptable. The staff seemed overwhelmed, rushing around the room in a stressed manner, and one waitress, in particular, was unfriendly and even dismissive. I wanted to order a curry with tofu, which was clearly marked as vegetarian on the menu. I was then informed that the dish contained fish sauce – therefore not vegetarian. It was nice of me to be told that, but why then is every dish on the menu offered as a vegetarian version? And that's not all: According to the menu, this dish is only labeled with the allergen milk. The fish sauce, however, falls under the legally required allergen "fish," which was not disclosed. This is not a minor error, but a clear violation of the EU Food Information Regulation (FIC) – and therefore illegal. Allergy sufferers, in particular, are absolutely dependent on accurate allergen labeling, and such omissions can have serious health consequences. Another negative example: I ordered a Coca-Cola but received a Coke Zero. The waitress didn't respond to my warning, even though it was clearly obvious the place didn't have regular Coke (they only had Coke Zero at the counter). When I asked her about it, she simply walked away. Conclusion: This restaurant not only treats guests unprofessionally and unfriendly—it also violates legal labeling requirements, which is especially dangerous for allergy sufferers. I won't be eating here again.

This was my second visit to this Asian restaurant in Hamburg, and I’d describe it as a place with a very particular charm—a bit quirky, a bit rough around the edges, but not without its strengths. The staff is of Asian origin and quite friendly, but the overall presentation feels informal, maybe too much so. There’s no uniform or clear dress code, and at times I wasn’t even sure who actually worked there and who didn’t. It gives off more of a “home kitchen” vibe than a polished restaurant experience. The menu has a retro feel to it—like something out of an older takeaway spot—and the outdoor seating has clearly seen better days. Still, the most important thing: the food was decent. I had a salmon poke bowl, and it was fresh, well-balanced, and satisfying. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable. All in all, a decent experience. I’m giving it four stars, because while the setting and service could use polish, the food was good and I left happy.

Everything seemed dirty and uncomfortable. When a third of the menu, including bulgogi and the like, was unavailable, we simply left. Maybe a bad day, but for us: never again.

Our daughter is allergic to lactose. She took the dish with coconut milk. We felt safe because Vietnamese food never includes cow milk products and only coconut milk was mentioned in the ingredients list. But somehow we became allert because the food tasted of cow cream. We asked the staff if it was any lactose in the food, and, to our surprise, they could tell us it was. They showed us that in the German menu the cream was listed as an ingredient, but not in the English one, the one we’ve got. The staff was nice and did what they could, but it was unfortunately already to late and our daughter became ill.

The atmosphere was kind of ruined by the fact that there is currently really loud construction going on nearby and the inside is downstairs without any windows. The lighting is alright though so it feels comfortable enough. The service was nothing special. Regular good and fast service. The only objection I have is that they pressured me into giving a full 5 star review on the spot before leaving. I feel ingenuine leaving a review that doesn't reflect my experience, so here I am changing it.

Food was good but problem was, i asked that is it little hot and waitress said yes its not so hot, but it was so hot that i could not finished my food, so be aware about this. U Kitchen is located in the former Leopolds restaurant, right on the Inner Alster Lake. The "U," you'll discover, stands for Vietnamese Mama. Her recipes are still prepared there. The menu is illustrated and not, as is often the case, overly cluttered. You can choose from tapas or large dishes. The plates arrive preheated and ready to serve in a short time. The ingredients, all fresh, harmonize beautifully. The food definitely offers value for money. The ambiance itself, unfortunately, feels a bit cold and empty.
