Incredibly good street food! Fresh & authentic. Here you won't find any watered-down "European version," but genuine Jianbing flavor just like at Asian street markets: crispy batter, perfectly fried egg, sesame seeds, spring onions, herbs, crunch, depth of flavor. Simply perfect. The portions are generous, the textures are spot on, and the seasoning is well-balanced: savory, aromatic, not greasy, and with a real bite. The prices are absolutely reasonable, and the taste easily surpasses anything else sold as "street food." If you're seriously looking for good, handcrafted, authentic food: go there. Right now.

Great place, finally some good Chinese food! I last had this dish in China, and the taste instantly transported me back. I highly recommend it. The portion was perfectly adequate for the price, and the two-egg option is quite filling.

Highly recommended! The jianbing are incredibly delicious – fresh, crispy, and authentic, just like in China. The value for money is excellent: large portions and fair prices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and warm – you immediately feel welcome! One small drawback: they only accept cash, which is a bit of a shame. The shop is also quite small and the interior is a bit dated, but still incredibly cute and lovingly decorated. The bottom line: If you love authentic Chinese street food, you should definitely stop by here!

Jianbing, a dish popular with Korean students studying abroad in China. Although it's street food, it's served indoors, so there are no hygiene concerns. It's clean and has a good flavor, making it a popular choice among many. If you don't like cilantro, ask for it to be omitted.

I'm not really a fan of Chinese cuisine. But this Chinese street food here really wins me over (I just always order it without coriander). I've only tried the egg version so far, and it tastes great. I don't know what could be improved. Everything is perfectly distributed, the flavor experience is consistent. Because of the folded shape, I sometimes compare it to a doner kebab. Yes, it's completely different in every way, but just as delicious, just on a different level. With chicken in it, it's probably similar in quantity to a doner kebab. With eggs, it's a super tasty snack for in between meals. Everything is also hygienic, and the staff is friendly and just does their thing. I'm glad to have found this gem in the Essen city center. The prices are also very reasonable. Also, considering the extras for individual ingredients, it's more than fair!

I just had a 30-minute layover in Essen and couldn't have asked for a better breakfast. Absolutely delicious! I had the veggie version with two eggs and cheese. Very friendly service, too. I'll be back!

Everytime I come visit Essen I just have to take one JianBing with roasted duck. The quality is always on point and the service is just TOP. They sell some cute magnets as well and of course I got 2 of them 😆 Highly highly recommended 🥰

A brilliant takeaway alternative to kebabs, pizza, and the like. This unassuming one-man operation offers authentic, delicious, and filling food for a reasonable price. The place doesn't invite you to linger, and depending on the time of day, you may have to wait a bit. However, after the first bite of the steaming, flavorful pancakes, that's quickly forgotten. I'll happily return here regularly.

A 'goto' place for me when in Essen. A quiet unassuming little place off the Main Street. I had the vegetarian Jian Bing and it was excellent. Genuine street food, totally authentic. You have to know it's here or you will miss it but well worth a visit.

A must buy every time I come to Essen

I've been a customer since it opened five years ago and Two Eggs Jian Bing is probably my favorite place in Essen for a snack. Jian Bing is an omelette filled with salad, crispy bread and various toppings of your choice. In the end the whole thing resembles a savory filled crepe. I like Jian Bing very much and I think it is a refreshing new addition to the culinary landscape in Germany. The crispy bread and the hot sauce are particularly delicious. The restaurant is run by the owners themselves. Both are very friendly and warm people. The shop is very small. The kitchen already takes up half of the room. There is only a table with four chairs for seating. You sit directly at the checkout area. It is therefore more worthwhile to take your Jian Bing with you to Hirschlandplatz on dry days and enjoy it on one of the benches there. The decoration is also very cute and has a kawaii feel. I highly recommend Two Eggs Jian Bing to everyone.

In short: Tasty, quick, easy to digest, relatively healthy, friendly, special. Many have described what is technically and objectively behind this dish. I will therefore deliberately put it simply: A mixture of crepes and omelettes - this is what the outer shell looks and tastes like. There are a lot of fillings to choose from, such as vegetarian, bacon, ham. Add cheese or tuna to taste, for example. In the folded and stable square it tastes just as you would imagine. For me: Vegetarian + tuna or coriander = EUR 6.50. Fair price. Honest food. In comparison to other “shack variants”, the lunch break does not involve a soup coma. The ambience? Well. It's not a restaurant. I take my food with me and eat it on the go or in the office. The owners, I suspect, are very nice. It's going quickly. What more could you want?!

We always go here when we are in Essen. Very tasty, value for money is also right and the operators are very nice. More seating inside would be great, but there are also plenty of benches nearby.

The good review here actually says it all, I started working in Essen and was looking for a small shop where I could regularly eat something good for a good price and I noticed the shop straight away, tried it and became a regular, very tasty, nice little shop and that The boss and his wife are very nice, a very good change from the kebab pizza etc. which you can get on every corner

The owner always puts you in a good mood, so you'll enjoy going there for that reason alone. The food is delicious and always prepared quickly. There are a few seats and the shop area is always lovingly decorated. Heartfelt recommendation :)

The Twi Eggs JianBing snack bar in Essen offers the typical Chinese breakfast dish Jian Bing, which is still largely unknown in Germany. Jian Bing is reminiscent of a French galette and is freshly prepared in front of the customers. A hearty filling is then put into the pancake and then it is folded into a square treat package. Warning: There are no sweet fillings. Jian Bing comes from the Shandong province in China and consists of a thinly fried dough that is topped with egg, fresh herbs, crunchy strips of dough and a spicy sauce. This combination of crispy dough, fresh ingredients and aromatic sauce makes Jian Bing an interesting taste experience. Jian Bibg has now become a popular street food and will certainly be a real challenge for the kebab here. The operator of the snack bar is very friendly and open, which makes the experience even more pleasant for customers. A visit to this snack bar is definitely recommended for anyone who wants to try something new and get to know the variety of Chinese cuisine. We wish operators much success. We'll definitely come back.

Really very tasty and creative idea to offer such a dish in Germany. The thin layer of bread inside integrates very well with the egg and you get a slight kebab feeling when you bite into it, as it is crispier than you would expect. More sauce would have been good for it, otherwise it's a really great summer snack.

Hey, the food is over the top delicious! And really fills you up. We only paid €12 for the two together, so it was really cheap. I recommend everyone to stop by there, it's small and hidden but super tasty. And for Sanrio fans: Gudetama is everywhere in the store :3
