TV Voerde Vereinsheim in Voerde (Niederrhein)

We ate at Restaurant Istra for the first time today. Everything was perfect: the service, the food, and the price. We highly recommend this restaurant.

The ambiance is truly perfect. The outdoor terrace is especially inviting. The interior is also impressive, a beautifully preserved vaulted cellar with plenty of charm. The staff, more specifically the one very polite and friendly waitress and her assistant, manage both the indoor and outdoor areas. Despite the constant running around, both remain attentive, courteous, and friendly. The menu sounds like a culinary fairytale, and one could almost call it fine dining. But then the food arrived, and unfortunately, it was more nightmare than fairytale. We waited over an hour before the food was finally served, and then some of the dishes were even wrong. After this endless wait, you were almost glad that there was anything on the table at all. The cream sauce was tasteless and full of oily eyes. The vegetables seemed carelessly cooked in water. The veal medallions were sour, stringy, and completely drowned in sauce. In short: intentional, but not skillful. It's a real shame, because the ambience and service deserved a much better culinary standard.

Very friendly owner. We (a group of 8) all received our food at the same time and everyone was very satisfied.

We ate there for the first time today, and it was truly delicious. The welcome and service are very friendly. You can tell they put their heart and soul into it :)

Great food at a fair price and absolutely lovely staff. The pub quiz is also great fun.
