Tuscolo Frankenbad in Bonn

The pizza with spinach, pesto, feta and arugula was perfect and very delicious.

I recently went to Tuscolo for dinner with some former colleagues. Due to a job change, I hadn't been there in a while. What can I say... the food is still excellent. The service was very friendly. The wait time for the food was also acceptable, despite it being busy in the evening. I'll probably have to go to Tuscolo in Bonn more often.

At Imi Restaurant and Pizzeria Tuscolo, dining becomes a culinary delight. Great dishes with a Mediterranean flair. The staff is always attentive and helpful. In my opinion, Tuscolo makes the best pizza. I love eating there. Dogs are allowed.

Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The bearded colleague was very unfriendly. The owner was also exceptionally nice. The grilled chicken was unfortunately extremely dry; I was hungry and ate it anyway. The Gorgonzola sauce was okay. The side salad wasn't very tasty either. The giant pizza was alright. Good parking; €4 for one hour. Upstairs, there was a leather bench with a large tear, which was very unsightly.

Dining at Tuscalo Bonn this Monday was simply a fantastic experience. It's impressive how, over time, they've never lowered their standards of quality, preparation, or service. Everything was impeccable from start to finish. I especially want to highlight the salmon pasta: the salmon was fresh, of excellent quality, and in a more than generous portion. The pasta was perfect, al dente, and the sauce was incredible, just as it should be. And the dessert… wow. Honestly, the best tiramisu I've ever tasted: creamy, balanced, and delicious. Another thing I loved was the organization at the pizza station, where I saw three people working in a coordinated, smiling, and completely synchronized way. It's a pleasure to see such a professional and dedicated team. In short: a 10 out of 10 in every aspect. An exemplary establishment that you'll always want to return to.

You can't go wrong at Tuscolo on Vorgebirgsstraße! The pizzas are always great, the service is top-notch, even when the place is packed. Seating can be a bit cramped at times, so reservations are highly recommended on weekends!

A small and cozy restaurant on the outskirts of Bonn with exceptionally good and tasty cuisine. The very friendly waitress, Teniaa, made our visit perfect and provided us with a lovely birthday meal. Today I chose the Salade Da Vinci with a Cassata for dessert... Keep it up! ;-)

I always enjoy eating at Tusculo! When it's busy, it can take a while, like anywhere else, but I've always been served in a friendly and courteous manner.

Anyone who likes large pizzas and large salads will certainly get their money's worth here... Otherwise: I've been here four times in the last 30 years... And I'm always amazed that the restaurant continues to have such a cult following... Once, everything was perfect. Delicious pizza, friendly service, and the last table down by the window in the back, meaning no rush, great! Another time, the pizza tasted strange, another time they practically snatched the plate away from us as we were finishing our last bite and pressured us to pay, and last time it was very crowded again. The staff did their best, but it simply wasn't enough; we had a lot of trouble making ourselves heard without seeming rude, it was incredibly hectic and loud around us... Furthermore, some of the waiters/waitresses seemed arrogant (something I've experienced before...). My pizza was, as usual, huge and delicious, while my friends' pasta was smaller but tasty. I certainly find Tuscolo to be a restaurant with quite tasty food, but on the other hand, I prefer a restaurant where I can relax and enjoy my meal, away from the hustle and bustle and arrogance. So, personally, I'll be looking elsewhere in the future. In these fast-paced times, there are plenty of happy customers at Tuscolo, so I'm no loss...😉🤗

The food was excellent, the pizza was fantastic. I was traveling for business and ate dinner at the restaurant one evening. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant was packed all four nights. Despite the hustle and bustle, the service was always attentive. The restaurant was very clean. There was plenty of space between the tables, so you didn't feel cramped.

I went to this place to celebrate a friend's birthday. An elderly waiter with gray hair was extremely rude and ill-mannered. He treated us with contempt throughout the entire dinner. Impatient and extremely unprofessional.

No greeting upon entry – the two employees continued chatting at length. Our telephone reservation wasn't even checked – no tables available. Restroom door still broken. We waited a long time for our order to be taken. Pizza was good. Tuscolo Frankenbad is no longer available. Second bad experience in 6 months. Good luck in the future.

Decent food. On certain days it's VERY full, so make sure you reserve! I like the fact that the pizzas are larger than the "standard" in Germany.

I have had great pizzas before during lunch, but the last time when it was very busy in the evening, our pizzas were less then luke warm arriving at the our table. Aas if they had been lying somewhere for 5-10 minutes before the waiter picked them up. A pitty, the food in general is good.

Don't expect too much when ordering in-store for pickup. I've never experienced more arrogance in a restaurant in Bonn. It's a real shame and very disappointing. A great restaurant that suffers from poor service and customer loyalty. Apparently, the above-mentioned factors don't play a role in this store!

Huge pizza, the food came quickly despite the large group. Friendly service. We sat upstairs by the restroom, but unfortunately, the restroom door was constantly open, which was a bit uncomfortable. They could consider installing an automatic closure, which is easy to retrofit.

But... we were 10 minutes late, and we tried calling several times beforehand... and yes, it's annoying, but the restaurant wasn't full, and then being yelled at and subjected to rude comments is, in my opinion, quite unprofessional and not customer-friendly. It's always wonderful to experience the dedication with which the staff serves and advises guests. I've been a regular guest at the restaurant for over four decades and have never been disappointed. The pizza and other dishes are simply outstanding and very tasty. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Former favorite – quality recently declined (visit September 13, 2025) I've been coming to Tuscolo at Frankenbad for years, and until September 13, 2025, it was my favorite restaurant. My classic was the "Monte Carlo" salad: previously, it featured crispy seared, sliced ​​beef strips – authentic, great value for money. At Tuscolo Münsterblick, the same salad recently seemed much more average; according to the manager there, it was frozen. On September 13, 2025, I received exactly the same average salad at Frankenbad. It's a shame – it takes away a bit of the specialness that made Frankenbad so special for me. Organization/Service: I made a reservation by email on September 12, but unfortunately, I didn't receive a response; confirmation only after my call on September 13. Despite specifically requesting a table, we were asked to change tables after our drinks, which we refused to accept. The waiter in charge seemed very rushed. Otherwise, the team was friendly and engaging. Positive: The minestrone is freshly prepared and highly recommended as a starter. Conclusion: Quality and processes are currently inconsistent. I hope that Tuscolo at Frankenbad will return to its previous, freshly fried version at the "Monte Carlo" – then I'll be a regular again. ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

Ridiculous. A pizza Margarita with three (!!!) layers of cheese for €17. Triple cheese???? Where???? I've ordered a Pizza Legenda at least twice a week for the past few weeks. There was always something missing (without any special requests), and now this. If that's triple cheese...

The quality has steadily declined over the past few years. Pasta with seafood: two tiny pieces of squid, one shrimp, four pieces of mussel entrails. Instead, there were many tiny pieces of doughy something that was supposed to look like seafood but clearly wasn't – a cheap alternative? I felt unwell after eating it. The sauce was very greasy. I won't be back.

I visited the restaurant late this evening because Google listed the opening hours as 11:30 p.m. I arrived around 10:30 p.m., but was immediately informed that I was only allowed to stay until 11:00 p.m. At the same time, I overheard two of the employees expressing annoyance at my presence, making comments like, "They definitely close at 11:00 p.m." I found this uninviting and unprofessional. For this reason, I decided to order my food to go, not because I wouldn't have enjoyed it in person, but because I didn't want to keep the team there longer and wanted to eat in peace. Regardless of the quality of the food, which is certainly true, the way guests are treated should be more respectful, EVEN IN CASES LIKE THIS. Furthermore, I expect the posted opening hours to either be adhered to or communicated clearly and transparently.

Delicious pizza and large portions

We discovered it by chance while visiting our son in Bonn. Authentic and tastefully decorated. The pizzas are enormous, bigger than our plates. We'll be back.

Unfortunately, our last visit there. We had made a reservation for our wedding. The reservation was forgotten, and there was no apology or anything. To top it all off, a waitress asked about our ethnicity and religion?! Please work properly and don't interfere in other people's business. It's simply a disgrace. We are very disappointed with this kind of "service."

Well, it really couldn't be better. We spontaneously looked for a restaurant with six people. The staff did everything possible to offer us an outside table. The service staff are incredibly warm and friendly. Everything is highly professional from start to finish. Whether it was drinks, appetizers, or the main course, everything arrived promptly and at the same time. You get the feeling that the servers weren't hovering around you, yet there weren't any empty glasses on the table. It's incredibly delicious, but the portions are also very generous. We'll definitely be back.

I really like the place, but today I was a bit confused and wondering what was going on. I looked at the prices of the other pizzas for the first time. I always order the Vegetaria pizza without cheese for €16.90. Even the pizza with prawns and other animal products doesn't come close to that price. They're all €12-14. Why? It's vegetable.

Tuscolo made the best pizza in Bonn. They have a different chef now, and the pizza only tastes like the ones in the lower segment. It was bound to happen at some point.

The health department has closed the business? Seriously? Mold, mouse droppings, and unsealed food. You're one of the well-known restaurants in Bonn. I wouldn't have expected that. The local press in Bonn is currently reporting on hygiene deficiencies in Bonn businesses.

Our visit today was very disappointing. Although we live in Rheinbach and there's a Tuscolo there, we went to the Tuscolo at Frankenbad because of the great atmosphere. The service was completely overworked. As a result, we didn't feel the attention we usually get at Tuscolo. Since we constantly had to wait for a server to come near us, a relaxing experience was impossible. Our dog didn't get water, we weren't asked for dessert/espresso when our plates were cleared, and we had to ask for the bill twice. We won't be back.

The seats were quite close together, which was a bit uncomfortable given the number of people there. It's better to pick up the pizza.

We ordered two takeaway pizzas from this Italian restaurant over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised. We found them to be among the best pizzas we've eaten in years and can definitely recommend a pizza from this restaurant, especially since the price is absolutely reasonable. After calling ahead, our food was ready for pickup in just 15 minutes. The restaurant, with its terrace along the street, made a really nice impression, and the staff was very friendly. If we ever visit this part of Bonn again, we would definitely visit this restaurant and try more of the dishes on offer.

Solid cuisine, but the price-performance ratio is no longer right. The pizzas are good as usual – thin crusts, hearty toppings, and flavorful. The pasta is also impressively handcrafted, but the portion size is too small for the price. The limoncello, unfortunately, was a disappointment: watery, lacking in flavor, nothing like what you'd expect. Overall, the impression is that the restaurant is relying too heavily on its long-standing hype. The drinks, in particular, are disproportionate to the quality.

It's nicely decorated and clean. The food was quite good. The first server was a bit grumpy. It's a shame if guests notice that. The ones who came after were better. We had a pizza and a pasta dish. Not outstanding, but good.

The day after eating a Primavera, I vomited everything up again for several hours. I have no idea what was in it, but it gave me and my colleague food poisoning. When something like that happens, you can only say negative things about the store.

I thought long and hard about whether to write this review. But since this has happened several times before, I have to do it now, in the hope that things will improve. About the process: I tried to order three pizzas by phone last week. First, the person in charge, Sergio, didn't answer the phone for at least 60 minutes. He was standing at the entrance, as I could see this from the hotel. Then, at some point, he answered the phone, completely disinterested and unfocused. When I went to pick up the pizzas for our meeting, two of them were also wrong. The whole thing seemed very unprofessional, and that shouldn't be the case in a business that's been around for so long! I hope this changes as soon as possible!

The pizza was delicious, but unfortunately, there were fewer toppings than before, and the price was much higher. The value for money is no longer as good.

The night before last I had dinner with my uncle and aunt at Tuscolo Frankenbad in Bonn. The pizza I ordered was gigantic and delicious; one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Today, after a visit to the museum at the August Macke House, we stopped at Tuscolo with our local history society for a meal with 20 people. Everything went perfectly! Everything was just perfect. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was truly delicious. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, pizza is just average, toppings sparse. What use is a huge flatbread of dough that sticks out over the edge of the plate if there is no topping 4 to 5 cm from the edge of the pizza? The knives are absolutely rubbish, so dull, you have to be careful that the pizza doesn't end up on the table next to you when you try to cut it. New guests have to stand stupidly in the entrance area and wait for the head usher, who also takes care of collecting guests until they are assigned a seat.
