Tuscolo Frankenbad in Bonn

Very tasty food, attentive and friendly service. We were there at lunchtime and it was pretty crowded.

My daughter celebrated her birthday last night. The Tuscolo family helped make it a wonderful evening. I was very surprised by the high quality food. And here I am not alone with my opinion. Everyone in our family was thrilled. 🤩 Tuscolo is an honest gastronomy and you rarely find it today. Service is available and not intrusive 👍but you can simply feel the restaurateur during the service. Thank you dear Romans, see you 👋 👍🥂

One of the best Italians in Bonn, if not the best.

Can't make a recommendation at all. Even though we had reserved a table, we were seated at a wobbling table in the path of the waiters. The used tablecloth from the space that had just become free was simply turned over and briefly smoothed out. My wish to leave out an ingredient from the pizza I chose could not be fulfilled. Which I find a bit strange for a (supposedly?) freshly prepared pizza. We then had to wait a relatively long time for the food - but that was understandable on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the operators don't seem to know their own products: the pizza was very large, unfortunately too large for the plates. This in turn resulted in a third of the pizza hanging over the plate and resting on the dirty tablecloth as described. The topping was obviously not particularly fresh, but rather frozen spinach and very dry chicken pieces, which you also get at the salad bar in the supermarket. Really very disappointing. In between, the waiters either bumped into each other in their unfriendly, stressful manner or directly bumped into our table, which, as described, was half in the way. Overall, a really unpleasant atmosphere and a pizza like the one I get from Dr. Oetker would have gotten. In any case, I won't be returning.

Super delicious pizza! Many choices of toppings and a very tasty dough base. The service was also more than perfect, it was my little sister's birthday today and we got a small birthday plate with a fountain that we had created for her from the waiter. Thanks Yasin :) Tuscolo can only be recommended!!

Tables are definitely too small, plates too big! Children's pizza had way too much tomato sauce, my fettucini were very hard, extremely al dente. Service was attentive and friendly! The ambience is nice, but the volume throughout the first floor is much too loud. It's a shame, but unfortunately not 5 stars!

We recently had dinner there with my husband and as soon as we walked in a waitress (slightly older) looked at me from top to bottom with such arrogance as if I were the last one (I'm a foreigner and you can tell). The food wasn't that great either, I ordered pasta, my husband ordered pizza and we both had stomach aches afterwards. At Tuscolo downtown the staff is much nicer!

Hello, I've been back in Bonn for a while and were in the mood for a delicious pizza at Tuscolo. Without first reading through the huge selection on the menu, I told the waiter “I would like a pizza with carp, anchovies, onions and salami”. In addition to this pizza, they also picked up another pizza and drinks. Our waiting time between bruscetta and pizzas (over an hour!) is not my topic here... they apologized with a course on the house (bread and oil; that was what they used to have anyway). My issue is the billing of my pizza order... I was charged a pizza salami 16.50 euros plus a side dish of carp (1.50) plus anchovies (1.50) plus onions (2.00). So this pizza for 21.50!!!!! I feel a bit ripped off...it could have been cured with a little advice at the beginning. Unfortunately, I find it symptomatic of our times and it makes eating out fun for me!

We are also very sad to write this review like this. So first of all, the food is very good. We were often guests there too. Unfortunately, there seems to be a new philosophy of space allocation there. Since we always eat there as a couple and don't feel like sitting down at those crooked tables for two people on the sidewalk, because your glass can easily tip over there and every pedestrian walks right next to you, we like to sit at one of the four-person tables outside sit. We were refused this for the third time now, with the statement that they were only for 4 people. However, each time there were at least one or even three couples sitting at the tables in question and there were still some free. Apparently there are different guests there? At first we discussed things, but now we're just moving on. Due to the high level of passing customers, this restaurant can probably afford to forego well-paying regulars. As is often the case, it's just a matter of getting as many guests through as possible. And I emphasize again, it wasn't full! Otherwise I could understand it.

Quite a cute restaurant in itself. Unfortunately there is no vegan selection (I find it really difficult in 2024) and almost every dish labeled vegetarian is not really vegetarian. Parmesan and Parmiggiano Reggiano are almost always made with rennet from calves and are therefore not vegetarian. As a restaurant chain, offering neither real vegetarian nor vegan options when it would actually be super easy to have a pack of vegan pizza melts in the freezer is really incomprehensible to me. Even the bruschetta has cheese. In addition, all the windows were open the whole time and the cigarette smoke was wafting in. The service was also rather cold and sometimes seemed annoyed.

Usually by far the best Roman pizza around. Unfortunately, the recipe seems to have been changed about 2 months ago and the pizza no longer tastes the same as it used to. Very unfortunate…

An institution and that's why I/we give it 5 stars, although the friendliness of a certain service once again left a lot to be desired (to say the least). Price performance top! Some of the best pizza in Bonn and everything else is delicious too!

As everywhere in Tuscolo, very tasty pizza, fast service. Unfortunately, the Aperol Spritz didn't taste that good here and what I would find a neat solution would be to have a large placemat/baking paper underneath with a pizza. That makes it appetizing, since the pizza is quite large... protruding over the plate and you always push it over the table at the beginning... but JUST a note 😉

Delicious pizza with a thin, crispy crust and generous toppings, variety of Italian dishes along with a large selection of drinks and desserts. The ambience is cozy and inviting. A bit overpriced, but must visit for someone looking for Italian cuisine in Bonn.

Food was ok. The service was unfriendly and terrible. We were alone in the restaurant and had to wait a long time before we could order. I waited just as long for my drink. The drink was served warm. I asked for ice cream and didn't get it, another table did. We waited about 30 minutes for the bill and then we had to wait 10 minutes so we could pay with the card. You could have done other things during that time.

The restaurant looked promising, but the pizza was disappointing - tough dough, sparse toppings and hardly any flavor. What was particularly annoying was the price for the mozzarella, which was far too high. Unfriendly service, but overall the price-performance ratio is not right. 2 out of 5 stars

Excellent quality of food, very tasty! As a guest you experience the typical Italian flair and feel that the restaurant is owner-managed. Service is great, very nicely designed seating area in the interior, there are also numerous tables outside when the weather is good. Gladly again at any time!

I ate pizza here with my family and the pizzas were super tasty but also gigantic, but that's great for the price. However, we had to take the pizzas with us to the hotel.

The place is very nice, but by my standards the pizza is average, I had the impression that it was oversalted, but the olive oil was excellent.

We have been to this restaurant several times. However, on Christmas Day (reserved) we were assigned a table by the toilet (cat table). We tried twice more (they are already rude on the phone) All I can say is that the staff seemed unfriendly and overly stressed. I know pizza and pasta better. Toilet disaster. But as the saying goes, when the donkey is doing too well....... There may come times for you too when your guest will receive a friendly welcome.

Only the name is Italian. Italian restaurant and no one speaks Italian, except an elderly gentleman who only speaks if forced!! Meh!! Pizza dough discreet but very salty with combinations of flavors that are scary!!

The quality of the food is excellent, the prices are fair. The business lunch dishes are simply overwhelming. (We only managed half of our pizzas). One drawback is time management: Please bring your time and remain patient. It is worth it ..

If you call it a Margherita??? Pls eat some authentic pizza or visit Domino‘s. And don’t pay with the card there otherwise the waitress will be mean to you:)

Perfect pizza, great service and really a nice place.

I was there last week. It was shortly after 3 p.m., few tables were occupied and four waiters were at the start. My husband wanted to come, so I sat at the table alone. And was ignored. Despite the four service staff. Who saw me too. I sat outside and went in briefly, past the service staff, to go to the toilet. Then I sat at the table again. Nobody paid attention to me for a total of 12 minutes. And they didn't know that I was waiting for my husband. I knew that if THE MAN came, someone would come to take the order in less than a minute. And what can I say: My husband arrived, after 30 seconds the waitress was at the table. We reported this back to her, she was offended and tried to make excuses. We then went to HAKIKI on Frankenbadplatz, because something like that just sucks. We ate excellent pizza there and were treated very nicely. Me too as a woman ;)

Very good restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the food is very good. Bruschetta is huge! I've never seen bruschetta this big. And they were delicious too! Pizza is good but the pasta dishes are even better 😋 Due to the high demand, it's always better to reserve a table. PS: If you're looking for good coffee in Bonn, you have to come here. Here I drank the best cappuccino in Bonn so far ☕

Ah what a brilliant evening with great food. The waitresses were on their toes and implemented all of our requests straight away and the food was simply delicious! The pizzas were so huge that it was almost impossible to make them all at once. We sat outside and it was very nice. We can only recommend this shop - if you like Italian, you have to go there.

Spontaneous visit and luckily got a table. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday evening...good, inexpensive food always works. The pizza selection is extensive, but requests (without arugula!) also worked. Unfortunately the plate was too small... or the pizza was too big :-) The spaghetti carbonara was very tasty and so was the salad plate with the main course. For pasta and pizza, the variety on the menu is enough for several more visits. And there are also some exciting dishes on the menu for meat, fish and dessert lovers. It was a tip topper evening, despite the restaurant being full, the service was friendly and the waiting time was surprisingly short. Mille Grazie!

We had just ordered there with pickup and a short trip away. Unfortunately the food was already completely cold, pizza was still somewhat ok. But the lasagna was a joke. The Maggi fix tastes much better to me. It's a shame, you don't get anything for your money in Bonn. Next time back to mcdonals.

The good times are over: We moved from Tuscolo Münsterblick to Tuscolo Frankenbad a long time ago. But here too there is a clear deterioration. Pasta and lasagne are no longer fruity thanks to tomatoes. The salad seems to come from a ready-made package. There is a tight and loud atmosphere. The restaurant is dingy; Seats and table are dirty. We don't go here anymore.

Pasta und Lasagne nicht mehr fruchtig durch Tomaten. Der Salat scheint aus einem Fertigpaket zu kommen. Es herrscht eine enge und laute Atmosphäre. Das Restaurant ist schmuddelig; Sitze und Tisch sind verdreckt. Wir gehen hier mehr hin.

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Tuscolo in Bonn and dinner there was a real highlight. The restaurant impresses with an excellent selection of pasta dishes that will delight every palate. But not only were the main courses a delight, the starters were also excellently prepared and presented a culinary variety that started the evening perfectly. To round things off, we were able to try a variety of desserts, each of which was a small masterpiece in its own right. The dishes were accompanied by an excellent selection of wines, which were perfectly matched to the individual courses and rounded off the taste experience. The service was first class - attentive, friendly and professional. Every wish was met and immediately fulfilled, making our evening a completely successful experience. Food was excellent and service was courteous.

Me and my wife had a quick business lunch there last Friday. The staff is experienced, very polite and helpful. With a staff like this you feel comfortable and confident. Food quality is top notch. Classic tasty Italian food in a cosy environment. Tomato soup, spaghetti with truffles and fettuccine are excellent. Antipasti was on the house. Both me and my wife recommend to try it, you will not get disappointed.

For me, all Tuscolo locations are great, but I have to say that I think the Tuscolo at Frankenbad is the best. The food is always great here, pizzas are huge and really tasty. The service is also friendly and accommodating. Visits to Tuscolo are always great.

I've been going to Tuscolo for over 30 years and it's still one of the best pizzas for me. Very rich toppings, good taste, very thin and good dough. The price is certainly in the higher segment, but the price/performance ratio is still right. The staff still has some room for improvement when it comes to friendliness. This review only applies to the Frankenbad branch. The pizzas in the other branches are also good, but for me personally not on the same level as at Frankenbad.

It's really sad to have to give this review. But unfortunately this restaurant, which is actually popular with us, has declined significantly. Right from the start we were given an unfriendly welcome and given the tricky task of finding a table for two ourselves. However, all tables for two were occupied and we were not allowed to sit at the free tables for four. But lo and behold: we finally found what we were looking for, a table for two became available! The waiter who served us was extremely nice and attentive. However, the food no longer promises the usual quality. The pizza was a bit soggy and the wine was served lukewarm with no possibility of refrigeration. After this experience we will probably not visit the Tuscolo again. We felt strange and unwelcome there.

Delicious antipasti! It is crowded and lively, but very cozy and with Italian charm!

The service is good. The food was quite okay, unfortunately the truffle oil that came with my dish was a little rancid in taste... So it was good that in the end there wasn't that much of it spread over the dish. Which I found much worse. It was definitely far too little... The others found their dish very tasty, but they would have liked it to be more!

Just please, yesterday the porcini mushrooms in the Penne Alfredo were still dirty and crunched between your teeth - so it's better to clean them.
