Tuscolo Frankenbad in Bonn

Der Betrieb erscheint mir extrem schlecht organisiert. Service ist offenbar nur angelernt und sehr unaufmerksam. Klassische italienische Fleischgerichte habe ich nicht gefunden. Sehr convenience und Tuscolo bekommt Franchise Charakter.

Das Essen ist nach wie vor sehr lecker, aber innerhalb von zwei Wochen habe ich zwei enttäuschende Erfahrungen mit dem Service gemacht. Dieser ist unaufmerksam, erst bekommt man keine Karte und dann wird entweder gar nicht abgeräumt oder man wird nicht gefragt, ob man noch etwas bestellen möchte. Auch das Bezahlen funktionierte nicht ohne Aufforderung. Und das selbst wenn man direkt neben der Bar sitzt, wo ständig Personal vorbeiläuft.

When visiting Bonn, you must try this Italian restaurant it’s truly one of the best. You can tell it’s authentic from the rich aromas that stay with you even after you leave. The food is outstanding, comparable to what you would find in Italy itself. It’s a true go-to spot for anyone who appreciates real Italian cuisine.

I love Tuscolo's pizza and often eat there with friends, especially when someone is visiting. The food is usually excellent, and the service is friendly and attentive—almost always a very good experience. Unfortunately, our last visit was different. The waitress who served us spoke to us in a rather condescending tone. When I wanted to order a pizza with two different halves (which apparently wasn't possible), she said, "Do you understand what I mean?" in a way that made us uncomfortable. I understand German, but since it's not my native language, I sometimes ask questions or need a moment to process information—that shouldn't be a problem. Later, the plates and bill were placed on the table rather abruptly, and there was barely any question about whether we wanted anything else. Overall, the visit this time felt rather unfriendly and distant, almost arrogant. We've always found Tuscolo to be a place where you feel welcome—often someone asks how the food was or where you're from, which is a nice personal touch. Unfortunately, we missed that this time. I hope this was an exception, because I actually really enjoy coming here.

For whatever reason, the pizza here is so much tastier than at the Münster. It's fluffy and crispy at the same time, with delicious toppings. Maybe I should take the longer route more often 😉🤗👍🏼

Ordered food to pick up. I arrive and see the pizzas on the table. Ask the bearded, Arabic waiter if these are our pizzas. He says: I'm still responsible. I asked him to take a quick look, otherwise he would get cold, and mentioned the best order. He looked and said no. 5 minutes later the colleague comes and the order was placed. He deliberately lied to me because he didn't feel like it, that's not possible! impudence

We wanted to eat pizza with my family (9 people) after a trip. We had reserved and because we arrived at the restaurant at 5 p.m., not every table was occupied. To say it straight away, every single dish was okay. Personally, I have the feeling that the quality there has declined in recent years, or at least there are fluctuations, but my family was happy with the food. What has been bothering us for a long time is the service and everything else. You feel like you're in a pizza chain and everything is just mass production. I think even the lostaria is doing better in terms of service. The head waitress at Frankenbad (at least she pretends) doesn't have her tables under control. Orders are not taken on time and not just at our table. These are things that I can somehow still accept in a pizzeria. Still annoying, of course. What doesn't work at all are warm drinks, the main course (pizza) which comes during the starter and the pasta which comes almost 10 minutes later like the pizza. When asked about these circumstances, the "head waitress" only replied that it was the kitchen's fault. It's also good to have a boss like that. What you can say about this is that the time management in Tuscolo hasn't been good for a long time and I have the feeling that they... don't care. The main thing is that the guests leave quickly and the tables are free. I doubt whether this is a concept for a family restaurant. For me, Tuscolo has developed into a bad franchise restaurant.

Today we unfortunately had to realize how badly the staff were treated with one another. There were complaints that colleagues were too slow, they were constantly spoken to in an unfriendly manner by colleagues, and sometimes younger colleagues were treated unpleasantly and used as errand boys. As a guest you noticed an unpleasant atmosphere on site! You could tell straight away that some of the staff felt extremely uncomfortable there

Food is great, but the waiter managed to do it with 3 women and a man at the table where one of the women specifically said that she was paying, but between all the women she put the bill between the man and the man and specifically addressed him about it

There were three of us and we ate different dishes. Everyone at the table was very satisfied with their food, the service and the extremely short waiting time. My super delicious pizza was topped with lots of shrimp, plenty of salmon and four king prawns - mega. Best pizza ever...

Unfortunately, my birthday dinner at Tuscolo in Bonn was a disappointment. Despite reservations for a nice table, our table was not free. We were seated at a table right in front of the toilets, the door of which was broken and was constantly in danger of falling over. That was very dangerous with my one-year-old daughter. Unfortunately the service was really bad. The older Italian waiter was unfriendly and unmotivated. He didn't seem to care about the broken door and told another guest that the door had been broken for a long time and that the boss knew about it but wasn't sending any repairmen. We asked for another table because the space was too dangerous for us, especially because of our daughter. The waiter was annoyed and said he would clean a table straight away. We had to bring our drinks and cutlery to the other table ourselves because he simply left again. We had to ask several times for a child's chair, even though it was obvious that one was needed and that was stated when making the reservation. When the food came, my husband got the wrong dish, which we wanted to point out straight away, but the waiter had already left. Another table had my husband's food, it could still be exchanged, but there was no apology. The food was delicious, but the incredibly poor service unfortunately spoiled my birthday a bit.

Once and never again. Begun when taking the order, we had to wait at least 20 minutes and ask several times until the food was served, which was staggered and 2 out of 3 people only got the food 30 minutes later, while one person waited until the food got cold. None of the employees felt responsible. Asking - no matter which waiter - leads to nothing. Conclusion: Everything is very tedious, hectic and not customer-oriented.

We had reserved a table for three people in the Tuscolo Restaurant by phone and mentioned directly that there would be children. We asked for a quieter place because it's just more pleasant with children. However, when we arrived we were told there were no reservations - even though we had definitely made them. Additionally, I was asked to leave the stroller outside. I found that to be very child-unfriendly. A stroller is simply a must - especially when the baby sleeps in it, as was the case with us. Of course I took him in with me. Unfortunately, the assigned table was not in a quiet corner, but in the middle of the passage - absolutely unsuitable for a visit with a child. Unfortunately, the service also left a lot to be desired: When we politely asked to cut the pizza, we were answered unfriendly: “This is not a pizzeria.” A few minutes later someone came to cut them - although we had already done it ourselves. This type of communication simply does not fit into a good service experience. The next unpleasant point: We found a hair in one of our dishes (the pasta). This kind of thing is unhygienic and shouldn't happen in a restaurant of this class. What was even more disappointing was that this dish was still on the bill as normal. We were offered dessert as an apology - which we generally see as a nice gesture - but a dish with a hair shouldn't be charged. This time the food was also not convincing in terms of taste. The pizza was disappointing - I know of many better alternatives. I was here once about two years ago and was quite satisfied back then, but unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly since then. Conclusion: Unfortunately this was the last visit to Tuscolo for us.

The Tuscolo probably has its best days behind it. The pizzas: no trace of passion, but prepared with great disinterest and randomness. In terms of taste, it's more of a homage to boredom. The pizza base is neither light, soft nor porous, but develops geological properties as it cools and works defiantly against the knife. In addition, there is a hectic service that knows how to nip any sense of comfort in the bud. Too bad.

Tuscolo am Frankenbad is my absolute favorite Italian restaurant. The pizzas are super tasty, well topped and huge. I also eat pasta often, it's also very tasty. No matter when I go there, it's always full, but I've never been turned away, there's always a place with a short wait.

Very tasty food 😋 But the cutlery was a nightmare. Blunt knives and even with forks the pizza couldn't be put on skewers and held in place. The furnishings should also be revised a bit.

An absolute highlight of our lunch break! Tusculo at Frankenthal in Bonn impressed us with fantastic food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We sat outside and enjoyed typical Italian hospitality in the perfect weather. The pasta was perfect, with extra Parmesan cheese on the side – a small detail that makes all the difference! To finish, we had a delicious tartufo, a strong espresso, and an aromatic grappa – exactly what you imagine an Italian lunch break to be. The service was super attentive and courteous, which made the visit all the more enjoyable. Definitely a recommendation for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine and a great atmosphere. We'll be back!

Wir waren heute nach sehr langer Zeit mal wieder im Tuscolo am Frankenbad - der letzte Besuch müsste 10 Jahre her sein. Was das Thema Pizza angeht, haben wir uns mittlerweile durch unsere Urlaube auf Sardinien, an der ligurischen Küste und in Florenz kulinarisch einfach weiterentwickelt. Die beste Pizza in Bonn gibt es hier irgendwie leider nicht mehr. Die Pastagerichte waren lecker aber auch nicht wirklich überragend. Was die Antipasti angeht, ist sie leider immer noch so extrem kalt wie vor 10 Jahren. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir sind leider irgendwie keine Tuscolo-Fans mehr.

We went to dinner with friends this evening, I ate pasta with cream sauce and my daughter ate pizza and both dishes were incredibly delicious. I hope I spelled the name Dijvar correctly 😂 he was the only positive employee in the place with his friendly, helpful and excellent aura. I think the other employees did not seem to be working very willingly due to the intensity, but the food was simply excellent.

We ate here when we were visiting Bonn. Very tasty and generous portions. The selection of pizzas is very good.

Unfriendly and rude staff! The unfriendly person is the tall, young waiter with the beard. I was there to order food and pick it up later. He asked me if I was drunk! What a disgrace! When my husband picked up the food later, the waiter told him that the woman (me) was totally drunk! I have never experienced such impudence from a waiter. Waiter is there to take orders and he is not supposed to comment anything! What's more: when we picked it up, the pizza was totally cold, even though the time of pick-up was expressly mentioned.

To this day, Tuscolo am Frankenbad is my favorite pizzeria in Bonn. The service sometimes leaves something to be desired at peak times, even though there are a lot of staff working. Even then, the quality of the food doesn't decrease. There is the best tiramisu I have found so far on site and there have been a few occasions where we have been there just for this dessert. The restaurant is also suitable for large groups of between 10 - 15 people and we have already held several celebrations there

I actually really enjoy going to Tuscolo regularly. Unfortunately, around midday I was forced to wait for my ride nearby in the cold and wanted to sit in the restaurant for half an hour. Unfortunately I was told that I wasn't allowed to order "just one drink" and was then sent out. The store was far from full and the temperature outside was below zero. You can also treat potential customers more kindly :)

Sorry, but that didn't work at all. We had reserved a table, but it took 20 minutes until we got it. While we waited we stood in the cold of the constantly opening door. After we had our table, another 25 minutes passed, including the order, until we got something to drink, including the order. My pizza was great, but charging €32 for a tomato salad with some decko (statement from the MA) plus 4 prawns is really abysmal. It's a shame when the masses leave the class behind.

Despite the size of the restaurant, there is a friendly and familiar atmosphere here. I have enjoyed being a guest here for over 20 years.

They have overcharged me, the Spanien pizza has always been worth €13 and here, in the online menu it is still €13, I ordered a pizza to pick up, and when paying by card they charged me €14.90, yes They have raised the price, it is stupid, €2 more at once, but even so, if their official online menu is wrong, it is not the consumers' fault.

Famous for the huge pizzas that no one can actually eat alone. Constantly crowded in the evenings. Service stressed accordingly. In a group of 6 people we had to wait half an hour until someone asked what we wanted to drink. You no longer need to be particularly attentive. The food is actually overrated. But the best thing: the waiter actually sprays every vacant table with Sidolin while guests are still eating at the next tables! They can then eat their food in the Sidolin spray mist... Delicious! He hasn't heard of food hygiene yet. Despite the lack of staff in the catering industry, you should teach your employees a few basic concepts and avoid chemically contaminating the food and the lungs of the guests.

Best Italian restaurant far and wide! The pizza tastes unmistakably good! Never eaten like this anywhere else - not even in Italy. The pasta is always al dente and very tasty. The antipasti platter is very diverse. The price/performance is absolutely🔝! We have been coming here for years and it will stay that way! 😉

I've rarely eaten such good Italian food and that's saying something: Fettuccine Salmone, Insalate Mista and homemade tramisu were perfect. Very friendly service from Dijwar Arslan 👍

The food is good. In general, the pizza could be a little smaller and better topped. The pasta dishes taste good, but could arrive at the table warmer. There are good salads, but most of them could use more dressing. The service is totally different. Sure, there are stressful days in service, but the guest shouldn't notice that. Unfortunately, the “customer is king” principle is not always practiced here. The store still remains busy because the food is delicious. The service will not change for that long. Please don't give bread from other tables to new guests again. A no go and was perhaps just an oversight by the staff. I'll come back, but leave the bread for the next guest ;)

Excellent pizza, very crowded & very loud (Friday evening), parking nearby is extremely expensive (only intended for short-term parking), better: find a parking garage and take a long walk!

Absolutely overrated. The pizza clearly didn't leave after being spread out. The dough is dense and not airy. The topping is poor and the crust tastes like nothing. The worst thing is the price, you can only buy something like that while drunk and then enjoy it...

We were there for the third time now! It has been an Inn restaurant in the old town for decades. I think it's overrated. The pizza is huge, yes, but it's almost just dough and almost nothing on it. The pasta is ok but nothing special and I think everything is too expensive for that. Sorry not mine.

Help: Poor cuisine (garlic and cream), this kitchen is an insult to high quality Italian cuisine, ambience a disaster, toilets under construction and dirty. We didn't feel comfortable. The waiter didn't get a tip and so we were dismissed with disregard. If you want to have a nice evening, find something nice nearby. It can definitely be set up for this price range.

Nice Italian restaurant. The pizza oven right at the entrance whets your appetite as soon as you enter. The service is friendly and humorous, but could have been a little more present. However, since the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday evening, that's completely fine. The pizza came very quickly, looked great and was a winner across the board. Perfectly baked and great tasting. I couldn't miss the tiramisu afterwards and wasn't disappointed. The prices are really okay for the large portions. Absolutely recommended and would happily come back.

We (4 people) were completely thrilled with our visit to the restaurant at Tuscolo. All 4 dishes were excellent, beautifully presented, rich and very tasteful. The nice, friendly service rounded everything off wonderfully. The prices are reasonable for this good quality.

The Tuscolo Frankenbad offers a solid selection of Italian dishes in a pleasant atmosphere. The pizza is delicious, and the other classic Italian dishes such as lasagna and antipasti are also impressive. The service is friendly and the location invites you to relax and enjoy yourself.

My daughter celebrated her birthday last night. The Tuscolo family helped make it a wonderful evening. I was very surprised by the high quality food. And here I am not alone with my opinion. Everyone in our family was thrilled. 🤩 Tuscolo is an honest gastronomy and you rarely find it today. Service is available and not intrusive 👍but you can simply feel the restaurateur during the service. Thank you dear Romans, see you 👋 👍🥂

One of the best Italians in Bonn, if not the best.

Can't make a recommendation at all. Even though we had reserved a table, we were seated at a wobbling table in the path of the waiters. The used tablecloth from the space that had just become free was simply turned over and briefly smoothed out. My wish to leave out an ingredient from the pizza I chose could not be fulfilled. Which I find a bit strange for a (supposedly?) freshly prepared pizza. We then had to wait a relatively long time for the food - but that was understandable on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the operators don't seem to know their own products: the pizza was very large, unfortunately too large for the plates. This in turn resulted in a third of the pizza hanging over the plate and resting on the dirty tablecloth as described. The topping was obviously not particularly fresh, but rather frozen spinach and very dry chicken pieces, which you also get at the salad bar in the supermarket. Really very disappointing. In between, the waiters either bumped into each other in their unfriendly, stressful manner or directly bumped into our table, which, as described, was half in the way. Overall, a really unpleasant atmosphere and a pizza like the one I get from Dr. Oetker would have gotten. In any case, I won't be returning.

Super delicious pizza! Many choices of toppings and a very tasty dough base. The service was also more than perfect, it was my little sister's birthday today and we got a small birthday plate with a fountain that we had created for her from the waiter. Thanks Yasin :) Tuscolo can only be recommended!!

Tables are definitely too small, plates too big! Children's pizza had way too much tomato sauce, my fettucini were very hard, extremely al dente. Service was attentive and friendly! The ambience is nice, but the volume throughout the first floor is much too loud. It's a shame, but unfortunately not 5 stars!

Delicious food and friendly and competent service. There is also a pleasant atmosphere or if you prefer to dine at home, just call and pick up the pizza.

We recently had dinner there with my husband and as soon as we walked in a waitress (slightly older) looked at me from top to bottom with such arrogance as if I were the last one (I'm a foreigner and you can tell). The food wasn't that great either, I ordered pasta, my husband ordered pizza and we both had stomach aches afterwards. At Tuscolo downtown the staff is much nicer!
