Turnerheim in Oberndorf am Neckar

Leute, in den ganzen 40 Jahren wo ich Essen gehe habe ich niemals so einen 👏großen Beilagensalat bekommen und nur mit frischen Salaten aus der Region und nix aus dem Glas und das schon zum 4ten mal. 🔨 Hammer

Bin durch den SB online aufmerksam geworden. Sehr freundliche Bedienung durch den Koch und Chef . Leckeres Essen und gutes Bier . Wenn ich wieder in der nähe bin, komme ich auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal da. Waren angenehm überrascht. Der Lammbraten war sehr lecker. Wir kommen wieder.

Habe meine alten Rezensionen gelöscht,von 2Sterne jetzt auf 5Sterne neuer Pächter....im 3.01 Neujahr 2026 waren wir wieder essen,"probieren geht über studieren"und siehe da Getränke waren sofort da, Essen war super und geschmacklich gut "gut bürgerliche Küche... Portionen können sich sehen lassen.....weiter so....... wir werden weiter testen Ambiente normal Vereinsgäste.... Service ein Stern Abzug mussten lange warten um zu zahlen,nicht tragisch...👍

Ich kenne Peter Müller seit frühester Kindheit, und wenn ich zu Besuch in meiner alten Heimat bin, gehe ich in seinem Lokal im Oberndorfer Turnerheim gerne und regelmäßig zum Essen. Die Küche ist sehr gut, und ich kann das Turnerheim Oberndorf nur auf das Wärmste empfehlen.

Kneipe-mässiges Restaurant mit uriger Atmosphäre. Preis/Leistung ist super und man fühlt sich wohl.

Hier kann man gut Bürgerliche Küche genießen. Ich hatte ein Zwiebelrostbraten und da ich Kinder habe auch Paniertes Schnitzel und Cordon Bleu. Alles war sehr gut, Fleisch super Qualität sehr zart und saftig. Großes Lob an den Koch Handwerklich hervorragend. Schneller und aufmerksamer Service. Würde ich jeder Zeit weiterempfehlen. Hier stimmt Leistung und Preis. Danke an das Team, wünsche euch viel Erfolg. JJJ

Da das Turnerheim nicht nur für Vereinsmitglieder ist, sondern auch öffentlich könnte man auf der homepage oder am Eingang vermerken. Ansonsten ist es ein gemütliches Restaurant, bei dem der Wirt sich auch einmal Zeit nimmt, um mit einem zu plaudern. Die Speisen sind groß genug, um satt zu werden und die Preise sind angepasst. Die Auswahl ist nicht umfangreich, aber dafür "schwäbisch schmackhaft". Da das Restaurant "Turnerheim" eine gute Ausgangslage für eine Wanderung bietet, lohnt sich daher immer ein Besuch.

Wir waren heute Schlachtplatte essen. Mega lecker sowohl das Sauerkraut, der Kartoffelbrei und der Bauchspeck, Leberwurst und Bratwurst.:) Wir hätten keine Blutwurst, da wir sie nicht mögen. Toller Service

Waren heute zur Einschulung mit der Familie da und es gibt absolut nichts zu beanstanden! Neue Leitung, neuer Koch, neues Essen! Alles war absolut perfekt die Kinder und auch wir Erwachsenen haben besten Service und bestes Essen genossen!!!

Leckeres schwäbisches Essen Große Portionen Schneller und guter Service

Fast service, good hosts, great food and the ambience is perfect

A portion of fries with ketchup and a shandy cost 12.60. The fries were too salty, the service was snotty and smelly, and the owner and chef weren't any better.

The Turnerhein in Oberndorf has apparently been under new management since May 2025. Little has changed in the restaurant; the social distancing rules from the Corona era are still in place, lost property from the winter is still in the wardrobe... the restrooms could also be cleaned again... etc. At first glance, the menu seems the same as before, with a Swabian twist and a snack. Four of us were there for dinner. The meatloaf with fried egg was still the best of the four main courses, even though the ordered fries were missing, but it did come with potato salad as per the menu. This was immediately changed by the dedicated young and apparently new service staff. The cordon bleu seemed and was quite crispy, as were the fries. The sauce as per the menu was missing and never came. There are certainly better ready-made cordon bleu options; here we had doubts as to whether the meat really retained its structure or whether it had been pressed into a nice shape. The Swabian roast beef with onions was ordered with croquettes, and that's exactly what we got. I know roast beef as a nice, evenly thick piece of meat, but we got two small, misshapen pieces of roasted meat with plenty of dark, thick sauce and onions. One of the pieces was quite tough and difficult to cut; medium-rare as requested: no such thing. But the absolute highlight and a real cheek were my "schmalzte, homemade Maultaschen with potato salad." A plate arrived with 5 or 6 really cheap, standard Maultaschen from an industrial manufacturer. Homemade at Bürger? Each Maultaschen was decorated with a few buttered crumbs, and that was it! When I asked about the potato salad, the plate was taken away and brought back with potato salad. I had imagined this main course to be a bit better, tastier, and more authentically Swabian. Potato salad is Swabian, and everyone makes it differently; this one really wasn't that good. Well, anyway, if I can't cook Swabian, then I should give up and put something else on the menu. All the dishes were really not enjoyable. But at the end of the bill (we had everything together), we noticed that a large salad had been overcharged, and the quantity and price of the drinks were incorrect. We complained, and we got our money back. Errors in the receipt system can happen, but they can be avoided. All in all, the evening at the Turnerheim was absolutely NOT a culinary Swabian highlight... sorry to write it like that, but those Maultaschen were a slap in the face to a Swabian. Please leave it alone, our Maultaschen didn't deserve that. For a moment, I hoped that the professional chefs would arrive outside, or that Mr. Rach would come through the door to save the restaurant. Nobody came. One can only hope that things will get better, but whether we'll try it again is questionable...

So, basically, it's terrible. The prices on the menu don't match the price at the cash register, at least for schnitzel and cordon bleu. I sat by the window, and there was a cobweb in the corner, and you could tell the place hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We raised our criticism after the meal, but somehow he wasn't really interested. In any case, this was our last time at the Turnerheim.

As they say, everything was better in the old days. We went bowling again today, followed by dinner. But that was the last time. The floor in the restaurant was sticky, as was the stairwell. Cobwebs on all the windows, the plates at the salad buffet had to be sorted to avoid any stains. The cordon bleu was €2.10 more than on the menu, a child's plate size was €19.80, and last but not least... I think the chefs are absolutely in love; we don't need that much salt all year round. The waiter asked us if we liked it, and we replied: It was way too salty. His answer: That's fine then. At least we got a schnapps. The evening's conclusion: New brooms don't always sweep better.

Highly recommended. Great cook. Food tastes very good.

Good Swabian food, Fast and friendly service, always with a quick message

Went to the Turnerheim for schnitzel this evening. Great service, delicious food, and a great atmosphere (very rustic). Always happy, keep it up!

The gymnastics home in Oberndorf can only be recommended. Really good, German, traditional cuisine. Schnitzel, cordon bleu, sausage salad, fries, ..... delicious sauce and and and. Various beers, wine,... good selection of everything. We've been a few times now and always had a lot of fun. The innkeeper knows how to treat his guests. Big praise

Yesterday we were in the gymnastics home for the first time and definitely not the last time! The friendly host was immediately noticed and the food was excellent. The portions of the food are well balanced and a real culinary delight. We felt very comfortable.

We were on the motorhome parking lot opposite and happened to come to the Turnerheim for dinner at a lecture about the history of the place. The food was great, the service was perfect, the beer was also good and the entertainment provided by the lecture was a perfect supporting program. Couldn't have been better!

We always go there on Friday lunchtime and then eat something from the lunch menu... It's always tasty and sufficient... in terms of the ambience, it's just a Turnerheim... But totally ok... Clean, excited... nothing too bad complain...tip-top... And the price is okay too.... Thank you

Great service, food very tasty and a very nice host

You can't call it cooking. A vegetable plate with thawed frozen vegetables, a Jägerschnitzel brand warmed up twice and everything with an indefinable sauce. Once and never again.

I ate a fitness salad and there was no sign of healthy food! The only thing that was freshly fried were the few chunks of meat, the rest came from a can, canister or bag. The green lettuce was old, had been cooled too much and had turned into a mush due to the heat, with lots of brown or rotten leaves! Something like this should be offered fresh with homemade salads... The landlord or waiter was understanding and gave me a beer, but fundamentally the concept should be reconsidered...

Very tasty food with large portions. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere on the terrace is cozy. Would love to come back.

The gymnastics home has recently reopened, I know the chef personally and of course I really hope that it continues to taste good and as desired. The location is not restaurant-like, but in a good bourgeois style. The terrace is rather modern and good for enjoying food outdoors on warm days. I wish the restaurant good sales. Keep it up

We were a large group for breakfast. Buffet was set up. Great... nothing was missing.

Very tasty food and located close to the Neckartal cycle path. Ideal for a stopover. Charging the e-bike battery is also possible. Perfect.

Class. We have been there several times and are thrilled. Nice (new) host. Large menu with many dishes that are prepared very quickly and taste wonderful. I've had brilliant onion roast several times and my wife had various fish dishes and was also very satisfied. A little far from our home base, but we'll definitely be back! (Free motorhome parking space directly opposite; what more could you want)

Gutbürgerliche Wirtschaft mit Deutscher Küche hat neu den Super Pächter des Dela Rose vom Lindenhof. Top Service, gute Karte, Preise noch ok. Hatte Zwiebelrostbraten medium mit guten Gemüse und Pommes. Das Fleisch war knusprig aussen innen zart wie es sein soll , jedoch noch rot, also englisch. Ich bin sicher das wird nächstes Mal perfekt sein.

Nach 70 km Radfahren musste ich erfahren, dass die Küche schon längst zu hatte. Doch dann hat der Chef persönlich noch extra einen Wurstsalat für mich gemacht. Das nenne ich mal Service!

Nette griechisch geführte Beiz mit lokalen griechischen Gerichten! Große Portionen! Ouzo aufs Haus! Auch Tische im Aussenbereich! Empfehlenswert!

Es ist eine ganz normale griechische Gastronomie gemütlich und lecker.

Das Essen war sehr gut, Gyros und Scampi. Es war auch mal wieder schön, sich mit anderen Gästen, die man vorher nicht kannte, angenehm und unbeschwert zu unterhalten.

Sehr gutes Essen wie fast immer in Sportheimen. Auch die Bedienung war sehr nett.

Wenn es 100 Sterne geben würde, dann hätte Fam. Papadopoulou das verdient. Unsere Hochzeit war von A-Z ein Traum im Turnerheim, das Essen, die Besitzer, die Atmosphäre, alles perfekt. Nur zu empfehlen

Essen ist immer wieder gut. Die Portionen sind sehr groß. Hinweis ein Beilagen Salat ist aufgrund der portionsgröße nicht notwenig. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett.
