La Bodega in Oberndorf am Neckar

There were almost 30 of us, and yet everything went surprisingly quickly. Excellent service and great organization!

La Bodega has become a real insider tip since the new management took over. The moment you step inside, you can tell something has changed: the atmosphere is inviting, modern, and pleasantly quiet. The remarkable cleanliness is particularly noteworthy; from the entrance area to the tables and even the restrooms, everything is impeccably maintained. You immediately feel at ease. The food completely won us over. The salad with chicken strips was a true highlight. Often, restaurant salads seem wilted and uninspired, but here, the opposite was true. The ingredients were fresh, crisp, and perfectly combined. The warm chicken strips were tender, well-seasoned, and harmonized wonderfully with the dressing. A dish we can wholeheartedly recommend. The seafood was also outstanding. Fresh, aromatic, and prepared with great care, the quality of the ingredients was clearly evident. The lagman, a robust and delicately seasoned dish, was also excellent and once again demonstrated the versatility of the restaurant's cuisine. Furthermore, our visit was extremely pleasant: the food was served quickly, despite the restaurant being quite busy. The service staff was consistently friendly, attentive, and courteous without being intrusive. You can tell that they work with passion. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable visit. La Bodega demonstrates how positively a restaurant can develop when new management brings a fresh perspective. The combination of cleanliness, warm service, and excellent food makes this a place you'll want to visit again and again, and one you'll gladly recommend to others.

Friendly and attentive service. However, in my opinion, the price-performance ratio isn't right. A mini bruschetta for €4.50 and a not very large portion of pork schnitzel for €16.90 is a bit excessive. Overall, the portion sizes were manageable and the taste was okay. What was very bothersome was how cold it was in the restaurant during my visit—so cold that I almost felt like I was sitting outside. If things don't change, this will be my last visit.

We were at La Bodega on November 21, 2025, from 5:30 pm onwards. Four of us without a reservation. We were greeted very warmly, and even without a reservation, it wasn't a problem. We immediately received the food and drink menu. We were also shown the weekly specials on the blackboard. Although we had only intended to have drinks, we decided on a medium-rare roast beef with a plate of garlic pasta with a touch of spice, aioli with homemade warm bread, bruschetta, and varenyky with potatoes, onions, and pasta. The appetizers were excellent. The roast beef was served with caramelized onions and very tasty pasta on a hot pan. And it was cooked to perfection right down to the last bite. The varenyky were also very fresh, and the vegetables and pasta were delicious. For €24.90, the roast beef was a generously sized piece of meat. In another restaurant in Oberndorf, I had to search for the roast beef under the fries, which were swimming in sauce! So, overall, the price-performance ratio here is excellent. A 0.33l pilsner for €3.40 is perfectly reasonable these days. This was our first visit under new management in at least 15 years, but certainly not our last. The decor has been updated, but still retains the same feel as it did 15 years ago. Low tables, chairs with wicker seats, but everything is incredibly clean. I haven't seen such a clean place in a long time. The decor is somewhat austere, but that's always a matter of opinion and perceived differently by everyone. Both waitresses were very attentive and friendly, and the drinks were always served quickly. The wait for the food was reasonable, as they still prepare a lot of things fresh. One thing to note: there's no cash register. Everything was written down on a notepad and collected that way. We didn't ask if card payment was possible, and it wasn't offered. So, if I need a proper invoice for accounting purposes for a Christmas party or similar event, I probably have to give advance notice, because a handwritten note with a date, stamp, and the owners' signature isn't acceptable. But we were there privately, and how the owners handle all this with the tax office is none of our business.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We opted for takeout today and ordered vareniki and lagman – and it was truly a hit! The vareniki were incredibly delicious: the dough was nice and soft, and the filling was wonderfully spicy and balanced. We also particularly liked the dip that came with it – it went perfectly with it and rounded out the flavors. The lagman was also really good – the meat was tender, the broth was full of flavor, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The spices were well-balanced, not overpowering, but with plenty of flavor. You can just tell that the cooking here is done with heart and that traditional recipes are lovingly executed. We are completely satisfied and will definitely order again. If you're looking for authentic, carefully prepared cuisine, this is the place for you!

A small establishment in a pleasant town square we were seated outside, it being a warm evening. Service seemed slow until we realised that everything was being managed by one, very likeable Lady, who was taking the orders, cooking the meals and serving both them and drinks. The menu was on two chalk boards and gave about a dozen choices. The meals were excellent in every respect and real value.

Kleine saisonale, überwiegend mediterrane Karte, raffiniert mit Kräutern gewürzte Gerichte, kleines Restaurant mit sehr angenehmer Atmosphäre und aufmerksamer, gut gelaunter, herzlicher Wirtin. Unbedingt hingehen, wenn man noch einen Platz bekommt (vorher anrufen!).

Wir haben in diesem Lokal sehr gut gegessen ,aussergewöhnlich gut war der Service vom Chef und der Chefin . Wir sind selten so gut beraten und umsorgt worden . Sehr zu empfehlen...

Aufgrund der überaus positiven Bewertungen reservierten wir unter der Woche zum Hochzeitstag einen Tisch. Nach ca.20 minütiger Wartezeit wurde endlich unsere Bestellung aufgenommen. Das Lokal war zu diesem Zeitpunkt einschl. uns mit nur 10 Personen besetzt. Nach weiteren 30 Minuten wurde meiner Ehefrau ihr überbackenes Nudelgericht serviert. Die oberste Schicht war dunkelbraun und schwarz verbrannt! Auf mein Rindersteack mit Salat musste ich weitere 15 Minuten warten! Leider war dieses zäh und für mich ungenießbar. Auf meine Reklamation erschien der Küchenchef. Er reagierte sofort unwirsch und aufbrausend. Den Rest spare ich mir. Um den Abend zu retten verließen wir das Lokal und begaben uns zum Griechen im Ort, wo alles zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit von statten lief.

Sehr schöne, kleinere Osteria mit wechselnder Tageskarte und zivilen Preisen. Die Karte umfasst nur vier oder fünf Gerichte, die dafür vom Patron mit sehr viel Hingabe und immer frisch zubereitet werden. Deshalb (und bei viel Andrang) muss eben manchmal auch etwas länger gewartet werden. Convenience Food ist hier verpönt. An Wochenenden sollte sicherheitshalber reserviert werden.

Hier fühlt man sich Zuhause und bestens versorgt. Es gibst eine täglich wechselnde Karte, die mittels Kreide an eine Tafel geschrieben wird. Der Inhaber erklärt die verschiedenen Gericht so, dass man alles wählen möchte... Alleine schon das war ein Genuss. Das folgende Essen übertraf alles Gesehene. Ein Geheimtipp!
