Wonderful service, delicious food always

We were at Ocakbasi today with 13 people and we were all very satisfied. The food came at the same time for everyone, despite this number of people. Since there were many different dishes, I thought it was a great effort from the kitchen. The waiting time was also perfectly bridged by the starter of bread and dips. The food was delicious and plentiful. We didn't have to wait long for drinks either. If you make reservations well in advance, it's best to have them confirmed a day in advance, as ours somehow got lost. We were lucky that there was still so much space during the week. According to another review here, this has happened before. But as already written, it was a perfect evening for everyone.

I ordered a meal for €100 a few hours ago, the meat wasn't really cooked through and the side dishes could be more next time.

First of all, the employees were very polite and friendly, so I was incredibly happy. As for the food, I can't find anything to say about it, it was amazing. The fact that the music I personally love was playing made the atmosphere extra beautiful for me. I hope I will come again.

Today we had real Turkish food for the first time and we absolutely loved it. Great ambience, super nice friendly service and the food is a dream. We'll definitely be back.

Fool! On my first and only visit I ordered an Adana and a Coke. That's around €23 according to the card. In the end I paid €42. Why? Because the starter, which I hadn't ordered and thought was free, cost an additional €9 and the gentlemen conjured up a €10 tip on top of that. Why didn't I say anything? Because the store was so hot inside that I just wanted to get out and... It was only later that I remembered that there was something wrong with the calculation. Conclusion: Avoid the store if you don't want to get ripped off and sweat!

We visited on our return from leave from Turkey. First of all, the prices seemed more expensive than what I was used to in the Netherlands. The food was generally delicious, but the meatballs had too much salt and my mother couldn't eat them. I would also like to mention that I really liked the tea they served.

I had a great time with my family at this restaurant. We loved the atmosphere and the way they prepare their food, especially using the OCAK, which is basically like an oven! Bread was also soo good and tasty!

Slowest food you may experience. Only go there if you are not hungry, looking a place that you want to punish yourself, and your life is bot miserable enough

The waiter was very rude and useless kept on speaking in German even though I advised him I do not speak German. Really unacceptable behaviour. I speak 4 languages myself and I don't intend to learn German just so I can understand the rude behaviour of this person. He should not be working in hospitality industry and must not interact with people. Overall very disappointing. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Popular opinion: It's relatively expensive, but worth every penny! You get a lot, so several people can share it. You could even say - a community meal! Also positive is the free bread plus two dips. Unpopular opinion: It's a shame that master chef Ali didn't come to the table himself - we would have been very happy! We didn't find the amount of wasps that funny (but the restaurant has no control over that). We really enjoyed the taste experience!

Found it super tasty. We were greeted very nicely and were able to place our order quickly. It was great because we were hungry. Drinks and food came quickly and everyone in the group enjoyed it very much. The portions are difficult to manage. Our children's pide was as big as the dish for the adults 😂 The shop is on the list to go to next time we visit Dresden.

It was raining, but it was 25C so it was nice to sit outside. It was fairly quiet, occasionally cars and trams, but it was manageable. Food was delicious, I took a kuşbaşılı pide and I must admit that this is really quality. Normally I eat this in Turkey. The norm is usually a lot of meat and salad to keep you full, here the taste of the bread is not really important. But here at this restaurant it was different. The bread was crispy, tasty and delicious. It was filling too.

Just a normal Turkish restaurant. The cheese is not in pieces but grounded. Strange. Olives are in slices. Strange.

The two of us ate here on a Sunday evening. We ordered the grill plate for 2 people - the starter arrived very quickly, and then we quickly received the main course. In terms of taste, it was amazing: everything was perfect, the rice, the bread and especially the meat were really delicious. You can tell that the grilling here is authentic! You can even observe this, in this restaurant there is an open kitchen and you can watch the chefs. This of course contributes to the ambience, which was great inside. However, we sat outside on wobbly and slightly crooked benches - that's the only point that could be improved. The price for the grill plate + 2 drinks is between €55-60, depending on the tip. Of course, the price is more than your typical kebab shop, but I don't think you can make the comparison. This is a good restaurant with service and authentic cuisine, but it can cost a little more.

It is a place where you can go with peace of mind, the food is delicious, the service is very nice, the place is large enough, including a playground for children, and enjoy the terrace.

Best Turkish restaurant in Dresden! Always friendly, always delicious!

Shortly after arriving, the attentive and friendly staff took our order. A greeting from the kitchen in the form of warm bread with 2 dips, probably based on yoghurt and eggplant, served with a salad followed shortly afterwards. For the main course we ordered chicken and veal, which was served with separate rice. Tasty and filling, attractively presented portion with a pleasant spiciness.

I know restaurants like this in Hamburg where they had lamb skewers grilled medium rare in eggplant dip and real kebab meat without flour in it, the purest meat for really good money. I'm a fan of this type of cuisine. So off to DD to the Turkish restaurant. Wow guys, this could be a lot better. We had meat skewers that were so dry that they squeaked when eaten. Service really below the belt. You can't answer questions about gluten because you don't know what it is. And your prices.....for what you offer...sorry, that's not true at all.

Food is very good and plentiful. Only the service didn't keep up. The restaurant was also completely full, so that's understandable. It's not exactly cheap but worth every cent.

The food is really perfect, the service is courteous, even if you occasionally have to wait a bit, but still always friendly. The price-performance ratio is definitely right. We'd love to come back.

Very tasty Turkish cuisine, many vegetarian dishes

As a long-time resident of Chemnitz, I deeply regret the loss of chef Ali, who was undoubtedly the culinary heart of our city. His decision to move to Dresden left many of us with a certain sadness. But fate gave us a silver lining, as Ali brought his talent and passion to a new restaurant here in Dresden. During my visit to the restaurant, I was overwhelmed by the exquisite cuisine that Ali and his team serve. Each dish is a true explosion of flavors that seduces the senses and pampers the palate. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality. The atmosphere in the restaurant is as inviting as the food is delicious. The ambience is modern yet cozy, and the staff is attentive and friendly. Although Chemnitz has lost a great chef, I'm grateful that Ali continues his culinary magic just a stone's throw away in Dresden. If you are looking for an unforgettable dining experience, you should definitely visit this restaurant. It is not just a place to eat, but an oasis for foodies and connoisseurs.

Great shop, nice atmosphere, probably authentic Turkish food, definitely delicious. If you don't know what you want, you should take the 100. There's never 5 stars, but it's still great. We got there on foot, but it's not that easy to park there.

Not recommended. I ate lentil soup there. Where should I start?! The lentil soup didn't taste good. I had to add salt to the soup so that it had any taste. And I paid €8 for a damn small portion of lentil soup. That's damn expensive. Even in Cologne, in a very large city, I pay less and get more and taste better. So anyone who reads this please don't go there, there are definitely better ones in Dresden than Ocakbasi. Way too expensive for bad food. Go somewhere else

The best lamb I've ever eaten. Very friendly welcome, even if you didn't make a reservation. It takes less than 30 minutes from the time you place your order until you can get started. Is recommended.

I've had this restaurant on my bucket list for ages and finally went there. The food is OK, but I've had better food of this kind. The service was also just mediocre. The atmosphere is more reminiscent of a larger kebab shop. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right at all.

Mega tasty food, service takes longer to notice that you are left high and dry, but on the other hand that saves money :-) We celebrated our birthday there and it was absolutely lovely and, as I said, super tasty. Always my pleasure

Large, somewhat outdated store. But it doesn't make the store worse. Really nice staff and super delicious food. Not cheap at first glance, but when you consider that you get salad and pide before every meal and then eat really fantastic food, it makes up for the price. We were thrilled. We'd love to come back.

The food is 12 out of 10. The waiters were generally friendly but always felt unprofessional. E.g. I come in, say that I have made a reservation, the waiter turns around without a word, walks a bit, looks at the guest book and then, without giving me a sign, runs deeper into the restaurant without even turning around - man, get me as Customers are better off - when I come to your great restaurant! I would advise others to eat here.

Excellent food in an ambience that combines Turkish and Dresden history. Well done! Much of the food is freshly prepared on a real charcoal grill. It tastes delicious and the portion size is okay. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Only when the food has been served do the plates stay there for too long after you've finished and only going to the counter brought the desired attention Although three service staff were apparently talking to each other without any specific tasks. We're not talking about 5 minutes, but almost 15 minutes with empty plates and no drink refills. Therefore, a point deducted from the service, but not from the overall rating. But we will do it again and think it was definitely a one-off situational thing.

As Turkish person I dislike Turkish food in Germany. But this place had one of the best kebabs. Food has better quality than Turkey.

Absoluter Hammer dort. Es gibt einen kostenlosen Salat als Vorspeise, dazu noch Brot und zwei mal Dip. Wir hatten die Pide mit Spinat und eine Grillplatte für 2 Personen. Es hat alles richtig gut geschmeckt. Wir sind Mega zufrieden und kommen definitiv wieder ✔️

Unsere Onlinebestellung ist nicht angekommen über die Homepage. Darauf nochmal warten auf die Zubereitung und dann wurde ein Teil der Bestellung vergessen. Leider wurde die Bestellung nicht gut verpackt für den Transport und ist ausgelaufen. Sonst sehr gutes leckeres Essen und zu empfehlen.

We had to wait 1 hour for our order today.. No one told us in advance, that we needed to wait, and no one apologized later.

Ordered Adana kebab and Urfa kebab. Both were too good! The tomato paprika sauce served with the appetizer was amazing. Would definitely recommend!
