A lovely self-service beer garden. Not a huge selection of food, but what's available is delicious. And that's what matters.

We had dinner on a sunny day in the historic, very beautiful, and shady courtyard. That was the only good thing. Perhaps a bad day...? In any case, one of the staff barely understood German. When served, something that had been specifically ordered was missing, and by the time it arrived, the Viennese veal schnitzel was lukewarm. It was inedible anyway. The meat was old, dry, and marbled; the poor breading fell off completely, and the portion was very small. Complaints were met with a shrug. Never again for us!

The Rheingold is a neighborhood pub with a very nice beer garden. The decor is a bit antique, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The menu is decent. Some dishes have references to Sri Lankan cuisine. In summer, however, the sausage salad is highly recommended. The service team is sensational. A team with competence and a sense of humor. Chapeau!

As a professional in the catering industry, I unfortunately came away with a very disappointing impression. The cordon bleu was unusually small, filled with an excessive amount of ham, and the flavor was unbalanced. The fries were soggy and not crispy. Particularly critical: The cutlery was stored upside down in containers – the first knife I pulled out was even visibly dirty. When I pointed this out, the only response was, "That's what happens when you just get back from vacation." Passing the blame on colleagues like this is anything but professional and underscores the lack of care. The desserts at the neighboring tables were also mixed: Two older ladies were enthusiastic about the ice cream and apple strudel, but the strudel topping was soggy. The service seemed attentive but inattentive. A good waiter makes you feel cared for – attentive, but not intrusive. Unfortunately, this was different here. We were given a beer off the bill, but the overall impression remains poor. We know from experience that when such fundamental aspects are compromised, there's usually even more to it. For us, one thing is clear: we won't be back.

The ambiance and service were good, but the food was unfortunately a bit below average. We had currywurst and roast pork with dumplings.
