What a delightful experience at this charming beer garden nestled in the stunning historical ruins of Augsburg! The setting itself is magical, blending rich history with a relaxed atmosphere. We decided to dive into their local beers and tried the pilsner, which was crisp and refreshing. We also sampled the goiß, a unique mix of dark beer with cola and cherry liquor. It was a fun choice to help us beat the heat, though I found it a bit too sweet for my taste. The food was a pleasant surprise too! We ordered some pommes and a fresh salad, and both were delicious. The fries were just the right amount of crispy, and the salad had a vibrant flavor that paired well with our drinks. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, filled with friendly locals and attentive staff who made us feel right at home. It’s a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy great company, tasty food, and excellent local brews. I highly recommend spending an afternoon here—it's truly a gem in Augsburg!

We sat in the beer garden in the late afternoon (Corpus Christi) with two small children. Toys and plenty of pebbles were available 😄. Service was very prompt and friendly. A pleasant, relaxed atmosphere despite being fully booked. The food was delicious!

If you're hungry, it's best to order twice. Remember the "first in, first out" policy. You can even support some of the team members there in the long term. The suckling pig with dumplings and cabbage was apparently so popular yesterday that for €16.50, they weren't selling a piglet, but a whole 100kg sow. The amount of meat was sufficient for an appetizer or a small snack. If you like golf, you can bring the dumplings straight to the driving range in Gersthofen, as they're the size of a golf ball. But the coleslaw was delicious, at least worth one star 😊. If you'd like to eat turkey strips salad without the turkey strips, you've come to the right place. Bring a slingshot for the pigeons, and you'll get a different poultry side dish. There's no nice grill for heating things up, but there's plenty of space, as the duck, which was grilled to death, routinely fell off the spit but... If you like shandy drinks, take a bartender and beer tap course, unless you prefer beer-flavored soda. It's a good idea to have a decent snack on hand just in case. If you're tired of it, you can also prepare some in the beer garden. FYI, you're allowed to do this -> Bavarian Beer Garden Ordinance 😉
