We didn't have a good experience here, mainly because of the service. Waited a long time until someone saw that we were there. Then the question is whether the empty glasses on the table are ours? Well, maybe it was just a shift change. When we asked the second time about the drinks we ordered, the counter question was “Haven’t you gotten them yet?” - doesn't show professionalism either. The next time we tried to draw attention to us by waving, we only waved back. You might find it funny, but I personally don't think it's good service. I'm in the restaurant and not in the comedy club. But apparently opinions differed on this question: when ordering two glasses of Prosecco, the counter question was "Just glasses or also Prosecco?" Oh well. We then paid at the bar because the waiter was probably on tour. With Mario Barth I would estimate. Ambience two stars because the music (old school hip hop, you have to like it in the restaurant) was very loud. Food one star because the white wine was good but at room temperature. We didn't eat.

Wow the restaurant is great! Food was top! Service very friendly and attentive! I will definitely eat there again! And make a reservation this time - but it was still worth the wait! Keep it up!

We made a reservation for 6.30pm on a Friday and were shown to our table very nicely. We had pasta with raggou, pasta with veal and Norma Parmiggiana. The drinks and food arrived quickly. All portions were tasty but small and unfortunately not filling. The pasta had 2 small pieces of meat. The Parmiggiana Norma was with a normal (pureed) tomato sauce, unfortunately not cooked down and unseasoned and nothing special. We don't have to come here again.

Insta vs Reality: Hyped on Insta - unfortunately only beautifully photographed in reality. Despite a reservation, we waited 15 minutes for the table, another 15 minutes for the menu and probably 10 minutes for the order. You just want to leave and take your money somewhere else. The food: yessss - small portions for big money. They were very generous with the oil. The pasta was the size of an appetizer. The music was very loud and it was almost impossible to have a conversation with the other person. The Moscow Mule, on the other hand, was very good! But at 15 euros it's too expensive to drink it all! Unfortunately our romance ends and there is no second date with us...

We spontaneously wanted a table for three and there was one free outside, were rudely sent away because the table was reserved - we then went to eat right next door and noticed that the table remained free the whole time...

Very good pasta, starters and drinks. Small menu but a little more unusual than the typical Italian. Service was very friendly, we just sometimes had to wait longer until someone came over. The atmosphere is modern and stylish.

I had the fried pizza. It was very oily and the tomato sauce was acidic with very little cheese on it. The waitress was rude for no reason. The place has potential. I hope they step it up..

Unfortunately, the True Romance couldn't convince us. The Pizza Fritta has little in common with a Neapolitan Pizza Fritta. It would be more appropriate to speak of a occupied Langos. The tiramisu was tasty, but the portion size was very manageable.

I am really disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. We had reserved a table in advance and clarified everything with an employee named Andreas. We even had screenshots as proof. However, when we arrived there was no reservation in my name. This meant that we had to wait over half an hour, even though there were eight of us. When we finally sat at our table, no one came to take our order for 45 minutes. I had to go in myself and ask for someone to come to us - that's just unacceptable. Unfortunately, the waitress who finally came to us was also very inattentive and slow. We waited another 45 minutes for the starters and then another 30 minutes for the main courses. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing. To make matters worse, no one contacted me to explain why the reservation didn't work. This is really outrageous. And we didn't get a single apology for it all evening. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

This is my third visit to True Romance and I can't stop thinking about the food. In my opinion the best Italian in Munich.

The food is beautifully prepared and there is something for everyone. The restaurant has a nice feel with a mix of chic and industrial design. The waiters are all very friendly and the atmosphere invites you to sit for longer :)

I absolutely love this place. The food takes you back to Italy. The staff is very friendly and the service is very relaxed. I think it's the only place in Munich that offers fried dough pizzas and other native Italian delicacies like arancini and panzeroti.

Unfortunately, the service is very inattentive and we sat in front of our used plates for ages - we preferred to chat with friends. The online menu is not up to date and the prices are higher locally. The food is ok, but not good. Pizza too dry, Frittura too limp and Pasta Vongole with 10 mussels is outrageously expensive. A pity!

A very nice hotel complex. The rooms and the gardens are traditionally furnished and very well maintained. The restaurant is good and cheap and, above all, in a quiet location.

My new favorite Italian restaurant in the neighborhood! Super tasty pasta, parmigiana and wine, very nice service and a beautiful terrace - I love it.

We were really excited. We were greeted so warmly, had a beautiful space and the service was super nice. As a starter we traditionally had fresh, warm bread with olive oil, salt and pepper. The aperol was the best I've had so far in Munich. The arrancini with truffles and liquid cheese core were our absolute highlight - a taste explosion! The fried pizza with Parma ham was to die for, as was the baked eggplant. Of particular note was the free very generous offerings of parmesan. All in all, absolutely recommended!

Were here for the first time today and I'm really impressed with the service and food. From the olive oil to the main course, it was super delicious. Gladly again

Went for a beer at the bar in the restaurant. After I asked if there was also freshly tapped beer, I was probably down with my Italian colleagues. I was ignored and the regulars at the bar made fun of me in Italian. Conclusion: arrogant & unhospitable. A pity

It was okay, nothing special. Fritto Misto quite a small portion for the price, fried pizza rather bland, spaghetti tossed in a lot of butter. Service was nice but pretty absent. Very loud. Overall I wouldn't recommend it now.

Everything really fits here! Not the standard Italian food, but also some things that you can't get everywhere. Be sure to try a lot of antipasti, they are all delicious without exception. The service this evening gets 5.5 stars. It's great when someone loves their job! The location is coolly decorated. The ambience gets 4 stars. Why? The table in front of the toilets is not that great (a bit of work needs to be done in the toilets too 😉) and unfortunately it is very loud. RECOMMENDED!!!

The menu doesn't offer much choice for vegetarians. The atmosphere is not very inviting and I definitely wouldn't call it true romantic. The waiter was very friendly. I wouldn't go there again.

YUMMY! That's how a good review should start, right? We treated ourselves to several starters and shared them all at the table. Long-cooked tomato sauce with fresh herbs is a real treat for the palate. Everything was just so delicious. Fried pizza sounds strange at first, but the taste is unique and really delicious. The staff is very friendly, gives good advice and also likes to joke. It was fun all around. We just didn't try the desserts. Next time I'd be happy!

Service freundlich. Die Vorspeise Pizza Buffala als Vorspeise kam kalt. Danach lange Wartezeit.. 2.Gang Gnocchi Sortentina lecke. Die Paccheri Ragu war die Pasta Al dente aber kalt. Das Ragu müsste man suchen. Zum Abschluss 2 Espressi bestellt, die nicht gut sind und auch nicht besonders heiß.

[Selfishly, I shouldn't even write this here, because the store is actually something that you would only recommend to close friends, top secret.] Very, very entertaining service, super tasty, authentic food. Pecorino as an open white wine (a hit for me), the open Primitivo di Puglia was also great. First of all, we had arancini with truffles or ragú, I liked the latter better, my companion liked the former better. Truffle tagliolini and the signature pasta with celery-braised veal shoulder both fantastic [Trigger warning: includes bone marrow, fantastic!] (A tiny suggestion to the Cucina: don't keep the ricotta filling for the cannoli so cold and only fill it right before serving, then the dough will be crispy and you can ask for 2 euros more.) Bravissimi!

I'm a total fan of true romance! The food is very very tasty, I love the pizza and the tiramisu! The staff is also very friendly :-) So a visit is definitely recommended!

Tolles Essen, Beste Drinks, beste Location! Super Bar-Team, das unsere etwas größere Gruppe super bewirtet haben. Wir können die Arancini bestens empfehlen!

Dieses Lokal stand schon länger auf meiner ToDo-Liste. Nun schlug meine Freundin es für dass nächste gemeinsame Treffen vor, Volltreffer. Direkt gegenüber von der U2 Haltestelle Fraunhoferstr. liegt das Restaurant im Industrial-Style. Ich durfte für uns einen noch noch zahlreich vorhandenen zweier-Tische aussuchen und wählte einen über Eck, damit wir uns nicht anschreien müssen. Aber der Laden wurde nicht so voll, was vermutlich daran lag, dass jeder so kurz vor Weihnachten noch ein paar Kalorien sparen wollte. Aber nicht mit uns. Die Karte bietet keine zu große Auswahl, nur je sechs Antipasti und Pasta dazu crazy fried Gerichte sowie Pizza und natürlich Fleisch sowie Fisch. Zudem wurde eine Tafel mit verschiedenen zusätzlichen Gerichten vor uns abgestellt. Leider wurden diese nicht automatisch erläutert. Schade. Die Schrift der Standardkarte war so klein, dass ich mit dem Handy ein Foto angefertigt habe, damit ich etwas zoomen konnte. Im übrigen stimmen die Gerichte nicht mit denen auf der Website überein. Ich wählte ein Arancini mit Trüffel (4 Euro pro Stück) sowie ein Panzarotti (4 Euro pro Stück) als Vorspeise. Meine Freundin verzichtete auf den ersten Gang, aber natürlich durfte sie bei mir naschen. Der Arancini war mega knusprig und mit etwas geriebenem Trüffel bedeckt. Im Inneren war der typische Reis gemischt mit Trüffel und zwei Klecksen Käse. Köstlich. Bei den Panzarotti bin ich hin und her gerissen. Obwohl der Service ankündigte, dass beide Vorspeisen nur kleine Gerichte sind, kam eine ganze Schüssel der Speise. Die Teile waren noch heiß und schmeckten nur nach Kartoffelstampf. Lt. Beleg am Ende des Abends waren es auch Kroketten, genau das wonach es geschmeckt hat. Auf der Karte stand, dass das Gericht aus paniertem Kartoffelstampf, Büffelmozzarella, Pfeffer und Parmesan besteht. Sorry, aber weder Mozzarella noch Parmesan habe ich geschmeckt. Schade. Ich vermute, dass dieses Gericht sonst anders aussieht und hier improvisiert wurde. Als Hauptgang hatte meine Freundin die Pizza Bufala (12,90 Euro) bestellt. Ich hatte mich für die Pasta mit Trüffel (19,50 Euro) entschieden. Als die Pizza serviert wurde, stutzten wir beide, da Trüffel oben auf lag. Klar, es kann jedes Gericht für 5 Euro mit Trüffel verfeinert werden, hatten wir aber nicht bestellt. Aber es gibt auch eine Pizza Tartufo (14,90 Euro). Meine Begleitung wusste nicht so recht wie sie reagieren sollte. Ja, sie isst gern Trüffel, wollte aber heute mal was anderes essen. Letzten Endes hat sie das Gericht behalten und es wurde nur die originäre Bestellung berechnet. Fairer Deal. Die regionaltypische Pizza Fritta war der Hammer. Der Teig schmeckte völlig neu, leicht süßlich, weich und dennoch knusprig. Ich persönlich fand, dass der Belag üppiger hätte sein dürfen. Es gab Tomate, Büffelmozzarella, Parmesan, Trüffel und Basilikum. Das alles verteilte sich in der Mitte und ließ ca. 2-3 cm Rand. Aber es war auch Belag im inneren, ähnlich einer Calzone anzutreffen. Schneiden konnte meine Freundin die Pizza mit einem Messer von Wolt. Meine Pasta schwamm in sehr viel Butter, zu viel für mich. Lt. Karte handelte es sich dabei um Trüffelbutter, zusätzlich wurde das Gericht neben frischem Trüffel noch mit Trüffelöl verfeinert. Die volle Ladung also. Hat auch sehr intensiv geschmeckt. Der Parmesan wurde unaufgefordert fein gerieben in einem Glas dazu gereicht. Der offene Rotwein, ein Primitivo und der Weißwein, ein Pecorino wurden mit 8,50 Euro das Glas berechnet. Die beiden Servicekräfte waren mega freundlich und aufmerksam. Da der Service hervorragend mit der Pizza umgegangen ist und es insgesamt gut geschmeckt hat, vergebe ich 4 Punkte.

Unfortunately no romance for me. Restaurant was cold and loud, food was not good (I had duck, pasta dished looked better), tiramisu was a joke. Bread comes in a paper bag, olive oil is rationed, only glims of light was the friendly service.

Im ersten Moment ein sehr unscheinbarer Eindruck, eher klein, eng, laut und veraltet. Aber das Essen unfassbar lecker und gut!! 😱 Service mega lieb, aufmerksam und flott. Durch das zusammenrutschen und zusammenhelfen entsteht ein total familiäres und schönes miteinander! - vielen Dank für den super Abend sofort wieder!!😍

A true 5 star restaurant experience. We have been there with a party of 35 people and enjoyed our stay from the very first minute to very late in the night. You can feel that Mario, the manager, and his team want to give you a great experience and amazing food. The food is absolutely delicious and made with love, the drinks are great, especially the Limoncello and the service is truly superb. We will definitely come back.

Wir hatten einen sehr netten Abend bei True Romance. Das Essen war gut und das Ambiente ist schön. Ich kann einen Besuch sehr empfehlen wenn man etwas lockeres aber doch leckeres sucht.

Wir waren 25 Frauen und hatten nach einer Schulung dort unser Abschiedsessen. Es war fantastisch. Das Personal absolut nett und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war so mega lecker. Schade das ich so weit weg wohne. Das True Romance würde sonst mein neues Lieblingsrestaurant werden.

We came upon this restaurant basically, accidentally as it was near our hotel. The service was a labor of love. The owner treated us as house guests. His assistant was incredible too. We let him organize an appetizer array for the whole table which was fantastic. The entrees were as good as any place I’ve been ever. I can’t emphasize how much we loved this place. Great prices, awesome food, and spectacular service. We liked it so much we brought friends back the next day. I highly recommend.

Best Italian in town. Great little patio dining spot...Michael was great! His recommendations were spot on. We loved the Eggplant roll app, wine recommendation, and the lamb pasta. Lemoncello is the best we've ever had!

Great pizza made with fried dough! It’s not only delicious as it’s rare in Munich. Prices are totally average for an Italian in town as well. :) Service was 5 star too. We’ll be back!

War nun ein paar Mal dort, das Essen ist wirklich super, weswegen ich auch nochmal hingehen würde. Nette Atmosphäre und genügend Platz. Was den Service betrifft - wenig zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Am Anfang wurden wir nett empfangen und mussten nicht lange warten, aber für den Rest des Abends wurden wir komplett ignoriert (man will ja vielleicht Getränke oder Desserts (nach)bestellen), trotz mehrfacher Versuche unsererseits, in Kontakt zu treten. Fand ich unhöflich.

Sogar für einen Kinderwagen wurde Platz gefunden :)

Tolles Ambiente und Lage. Das ohne Frage. Jedoch störendes Verhalten des Servicepersonals. Zu aufdringlich wird nach der Getränkebestellung gefragt was wann gegessen werden soll. Erstmal ankommen lassen bitte! Das ch verstehe, es war Samstags und Peak-Uhrzeit. Nach mehrfachen Nachfragen bestellten wir dann um dann gesagt zu bekommen, das Gericht ist aus. Gut. Ersatz Vorspeise bestellt. War diese verzehrt ging es weiter mit der Aufdringlichkeit ob wir schon die Hauptspeisen bestellt hätten. Haben dann irgendwas mit “ja” geantwortet und die Rechnung bestellt um dann festzustellen, dass das Gericht, welches nicht serviert werden konnte, berechnet wurde. Unangenehm.

Wir waren an einem Freitag Abend dort und haben uns ein paar Vorspeisen zum Teilen gekauft und verschiedene Drinks ausprobiert: Wir hatten 2 unterschiedliche Arancini, die Fleischbällchen in Tomatensauce und den Oktopussalat. Das Essen war lecker, hätte teilweise aber noch etwas Salz vertragen können können. Vor allem die Fleischbällchen und die Tomatensauce hätten noch etwas peppiger gewürzt werden können. Bei den Drinks kann ich sowohl den Paloma, der es aber echt in sich hat (!) und den Clover Club empfehlen. Die waren wirklich sehr gut. Das Personal war auch sehr nett :)

Hammer lecker, ein wirklich guter, aufmerksamer Service und gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Noch dazu direkt an der U-Bahn. Mega.

Visited here last night after being recommended by a friend of a friend who lives in Munich! We were not disappointed, the guys who served us were super friendly and cool. He advised us not to have fried pizza and fried chips and we ignored him- he was right we ate too much fried food haha. That said the food itself was amazing!! Good portions and tasted so good! Also got a free try of their lemoncello which I very much appreciated!!

Personale arrogante, lento anche con locale vuoto (erano le 6 di sera!) e totalmente incompetente (le bevande sono arrivate senza bicchieri, le pizze senza posate...). Nel conto i furboni hanno tentato di farci pagare una pizza in più. Assurdi. Peccato perché la pizza è davvero molto buona! SCONSIGLIATISSIMO

Das essen war sehr lecker. Wir haben 4 Vorspeisen bestellt und auch noch 4 unterschiedliche Pastas, da waren wir total zufrieden. Aber! Service war wirklich nicht so gut, denn wir sehr lange darauf warten müssten, dass die Kellnerin überhaupt auf uns reagiert. So übervoll, war es ja auch nicht. Tja, was soll man machen? Per Telefon wurde es uns gesagt, dass wir unserer Tisch nur bis 21Uhr haben und das wurde auch noch vor Ort mehr Mals wiederholt. Leider hat man so ein Gefühl bekommen, als ob wir schneller weg gehen müssen, damit wir den anderen nicht stören oder so. Lecker, aber schlechter Service, deswegen 3/5

Sehr schlechter Service. Essen naja, Pasta sollte man als italienisches Restaurant schon können. Bei so vielen guten Italienern in München kann man sich einen Besuch hier leider gerne sparen. Schade - nach vielen Jahren in Italien hätte ich mich über gute neapolitanische Küche und herzlichen Service gefreut. Hier leider Fehlanzeige.

Es ist ein tolles Ambiente - schöne Location! Und natürlich super italienisches Essen. Einer der Fav Italiener. Preislicher jedoch auch an das Fancy Produkt und München entsprechend angepasst.

Im Rahmen unserer Städtereise waren wir im mit Restaurants reichlich ausgestattenen Glockenbachviertel untergebracht. Wir wollten jeden Abend was anderes zum Abendessen probieren und waren auch neugierig auf "Neapolitan Street Food". Also sind wir hin und haben frittierte Pizza gegessen - und waren begeistert! Essen wie gesagt top, modernes Ambiente, Personal freundlich und "auf Zack", ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wir waren gerne hier zu Gast und haben nichts zu bemängeln. Jederzeit wieder!
