We were unlucky enough to end up in the Traufganghütte on our day off, but also lucky that the senior manager was busy on the premises. He offered us drinks for our break in the sun. Top 👍

It was the perfect location for us... from the planning stage to the final dance, we felt completely at home and well looked after by the entire team. We were extremely lucky to find this beautiful location for our outdoor wedding ceremony. The view of the surrounding nature was simply wonderful, and all of our guests loved the barbecue buffet. Communication with the Traufganghütte was seamless. The service was also very good. We highly recommend this location for events/celebrations 🙂

Great wedding location - super friendly staff and delicious food!

First of all: a great outdoor area and a great ambiance inside too! We visited on a Sunday and were seated inside near the bar. It took about 20 minutes for us to order drinks, but we only received a menu upon request. However, we received our drinks and food quite quickly. Since we were seated near the bar, we couldn't help noticing how uncoordinated the work was. At times, it seemed as if the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. We had six different servers at our table from the time we ordered until we paid. We were brought drinks that we didn't order, and asked twice if we wanted dessert, even though we'd already said we wanted to pay. It was all pretty haphazard... If they can get this under control, it's a nice place, even if the prices are rather high (e.g., Wiener Schnitzel with a side dish and NO salad for €20.90).

I've been to the Traufganghütte many times and always feel really comfortable. It's beautifully decorated and the service is very attentive. The only thing I would say as a vegetarian is that it would be great if there were more vegetarian dishes. I can always eat Käsespätzle or Dinnele, but I can get that at any other "normal" restaurant too. There are usually two vegetarian dishes on the seasonal menu, but as a vegetarian you often get the feeling that you're "just" a tasty side dish. That's why I'm always particularly looking forward to dessert. But one or two things have been sold out lately. Otherwise, the Traufganghütte is super cozy and is always worth a visit. Whether you're with family, couples, or friends.

The food is super delicious (roast beef, traditional mountain fare, sausage salad, cheese spaetzle, etc.), and you can't get enough of the gravy in particular! A definite recommendation; we hope to be back soon.

On New Year's Eve 2015, we celebrated our wedding here in the grill hut – a wonderful memory that we still hold close to our hearts. We were all the more pleased to stop by again today while passing through. Unfortunately, our visit this time was disappointing. My son and I wanted to eat something around 1:30 p.m. (Sunday, rush hour – I'm aware of that), while my husband took a walk with the sleeping baby so we could eat in peace and he could join us later. We were led upstairs rather taciturnly. When I asked how long the food was taking, I was told they couldn't tell me. I got a menu myself because the waiters had disappeared by then. After waiting for more than 20 minutes, no one had asked for our orders, not even drinks. Around us, four other tables were waiting to place their orders, and others were waiting for their food. That was the moment for me to leave – hungry and, to be honest, very disappointed. I also thought long and hard about whether I should even write a review, but that's the only way to improve or change things. With that in mind: Thank you for the wonderful memories from back then – but today it remains just a memory, nothing more.

We celebrated our wedding here last Saturday. From the planning phase to the ceremony itself, the communication and teamwork were outstanding. Everything was executed exactly as we imagined. The barbecue buffet was absolutely delicious and plentiful – if anything ran low, it was immediately refilled. We and our guests were absolutely thrilled. The team was always very friendly, dedicated, and reliable. In addition to the food, the beautiful ambiance is simply perfect. Yes, I can recommend the Traufganghütte!

We had our wedding at the Traufganghütte this weekend. We've been there for dinner before, including at our civil ceremony a year ago. The food was always excellent, and even our vegetarian friends found it to be delicious. The service was always very good, too; the waitresses were always friendly and cheerful. We also received great support with the wedding preparations; even spontaneous changes two days before were no problem. We (hopefully) won't have another wedding, but otherwise we'd be happy to come back for dinner.

The Traufganghütte is a great place to stop for a day trip. Delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere, with friendly and prompt service. Very child-friendly!

Very nice outdoor area with a large children's playground in a fantastic location. A changing table is also available by the restroom. So it's actually very suitable for families. There's plenty of parking, too. The prices aren't any more expensive than other restaurants. Unfortunately, we still have to deduct a rating, because even when we ask what vegetarian food is available there – without cheese – the man just tells us bluntly: Salad! A very poor performance... especially in the year 2025, when most people manage to conjure up something from the kitchen somehow (at least when the food is cooked properly). Those who could eat more than salad at least enjoyed it. Meaning this restaurant is absolutely not suitable for vegetarians who don't like cheese or vegans. It's a shame.

Good food and very good ambience

A lot of effort has gone into it, the service is fast, and the food is good value for money. It's a bit too loud at times. The interior would benefit from a "less is more" motto. The "Alp" theme combined with the "Alpine" theme doesn't really resonate either.

We celebrated our wedding last Saturday with 50 guests. It was a fantastic celebration, thanks in part to the fantastic team at the Traufganghütte. The food was outstanding and the service top-notch. It was impressive that the food was served to everyone almost simultaneously. Many thanks to the entire team.

We wanted to stop in on Whit Monday after hiking the Traufgang Hossinger Leiter. At 2:30 p.m., there were no free tables left, even though there were several. Apparently, everything was reserved... When we asked if we could order a drink and enjoy it in the playground, we were told no. No drinks without a designated table... You're supposed to make a reservation. What? The place calls itself a Traufganghütte and has no room for Traufgänger or doesn't serve drinks? This has nothing to do with service; the arrogance is beyond compare. As Albstadt residents, we already avoid the place as a restaurant because the price and quality aren't right, and this wasn't the first incident. But now they've gone crazy. Word of mouth is the best advertising! Addendum 6/11/25: No, I wasn't angry, I was speechless, and we left without comment. The two older ladies behind us were upset that they couldn't get a seat at that time. I know the food and service all too well. Long story short, the Traufganghütte has had enough opportunities to impress me. Be it for dinner, at a birthday party, a visit to the grill hut, or just stopping by. It never went smoothly (although it can happen sometimes), but it's the tone that counts. But not serving drinks to Traufgangers is the icing on the cake.

We were there this evening. We had reserved a table for four people for 7 p.m. We arrived and were shown to our table. Then we ordered drinks, which was fine. We then ordered four different dishes and were told that three of the four were no longer available. After we had ordered three, the fourth dish was also announced as no longer available. In my opinion, an absolute disgrace. No apology, no waiting to possibly serve drinks, other than an apology. They could have warned guests before ordering drinks that four of the six dishes were no longer available. Absolutely a rip-off.

Nice playground and terrace area. Some of the staff were friendly, others weren't very enthusiastic. Prices are a bit high.

Update: We recently visited again. The meal took quite a while. When the manager asked if everything was okay, I said, "The first piece of beef from my beef cheeks was very tasty, but the second one is unfortunately tough and very dry," to which she replied, "Oh, I'm so sorry about that." That was all my response: no apology, no question about schnapps, etc. With a total bill of over €100, we expected more. Very comfortably furnished, country-style restaurant – even more beautiful after the renovation – with a large beer garden. We've been here several times, especially in the evenings. The food was always perfectly prepared and tasted excellent – ​​the only criticism was that the food wasn't always served piping hot. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back!

Somehow we thought this hut was known and famous for its sheet cakes. Accordingly, we planned our bike tour so that we wanted to eat cake here. So arrived and was amazed, great tree trunk as a bike stand and the slots are big enough for mountain bikes!! A CHARGING STATION for the e-bike, the charging cable is available from the innkeeper. But now to the food. Contrary to expectations, there was only one sheet of cake to choose from, which was a shame... But what was served at the neighboring tables made our mouths water... We'll definitely be back 😍

And in short: “It was simply great!” Right from the start you were able to win us over with your little details in your guest rooms and the very warm and inviting atmosphere. You feel like you are staying in a beautiful and romantic mountain hut. Our snacks during the champagne reception and our evening menu were prepared with great attention to detail and culinary skill. The food was consistently of high quality and was praised by all guests. The Traufgang Hütte offers sophisticated cuisine with a traditional character. The service surrounding our celebration was always available and friendly. Our guests always had the opportunity to order drinks of their choice. These were then quickly brought to the table/terrace. A big compliment from us to the entire hut team. We felt confirmed in our choice of location and would make the same decision again! Photo tip: There are apple trees behind the Traufgang Hut. Since we got married in spring, the trees were in bloom, which gave our pictures a really impressive character.

We are always happy to stop by your Traufganghütte. Delicious food, great atmosphere, great service. And for my mom it's always a journey back in time. As a little girl aged 5 and over, she lived in what was then the Bahnwerterhäußle. It's great what you did with it 🥰 keep it up.

The location and the view are really great, there are definitely plus points for that. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The service was rather poor. When asked about a cushion for the chair, the only answer was: You can get one over there. For the prices I would have liked a little more friendliness and attention. Unfortunately there was also a lot of room for improvement when it came to eating. The schnitzel was pretty tasteless - neither seasoned nor meaty in any way. The potato salad was okay, but nothing special. The sausage salad was a bit bland, there wasn't much quantity and the cheese had hardly any taste. A spicy mountain cheese would have worked wonders. Conclusion: Great view, but food and service just don't match the price. Too bad

We spontaneously stopped here. The places have been assigned. Despite the full terrace, the service was friendly and courteous. The food tasted delicious, I would like to try other dishes.

We were there on Easter Saturday after the hike and were very pleasantly surprised by the great service. Someone was there immediately and took us to a free table. Drinks came promptly and we didn't have to wait long for the food either. The portion was generous and you could easily take the rest with you. People kept asking nicely if we had any other wishes. The hut is rustically furnished and lovingly and creatively decorated.

Stopped in after the hike. Pork schnitzel (schnitzel from the sow according to the menu)...eaten...guaranteed ready out of the package. Taste absolutely catastrophic. Something like that doesn't work at all!

Every hiker wants a hut like this after a short or long tour. Rustic furnishings, large beer garden, lots of little things to discover in and around the house. The card promises a lot and keeps it. The food is very good and sufficient even for those who are very hungry. Beer drinkers, gin lovers and wine lovers will also get their money's worth. Anyone traveling in the area shouldn't miss the hut!

The starter of various venison sausages was tasty and plentiful. The roast beef was disappointing due to the convenience onions and the fried potatoes, which weren't crispy enough. The service was friendly and attentive.

Good traditional Swabian Cuisine. We had the Zweibelrostbraten with Spätzle (noodles) for about 30€ and a dessert for about 8€ - and it was delicious. Also had a pint of „Kellerbier“ but it definitely was not for me. All in all good food and atmosphere. So if you are around in the region, then stop over at Traufganghütte.

The rustic hut in the Brunnental is located in the middle of a fascinating landscape, surrounded by mountains and a variety of hiking opportunities, and is easy to reach by bike or car. One is particularly surprised by the tastefully furnished interiors, which offer a cozy cabin atmosphere. There is also nice seating outside when the temperatures are pleasant. Even when there is a lot going on, the guests are friendly and professional and there is often still a spot in the guest room. However, I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The food and drinks are regional and of a high standard from selected suppliers. I found the game dish very tasty, but there are also many vegetarian dishes and regular special events with a culinary focus. The overall package is really special, but it has probably not been an insider tip for some time if you look at the license plates of the vehicles. But yes, it is actually worth traveling a little further.
